  1. First, why is this in PvP forum? Because you can not get rWZ coms...because you can...I already have WH chest and WH mainhand and happily farming for other pieces. Second, is this game slowly dieing? Probably, subs go down and with D3, GW2 (these two dont even have subscription cost) and many others around the corner the servers will only be more and more empty. BW knows how to fix this, they can transfer people around (recent free transfer for Oceanic players to Oceanic servers proved that they are both very efficient and effective at doing this), they can even produce quality content in a relatively short time. They are doing alright job of listening to the community but the fact of the matter is they failed when comes to the basics. They took the tired old formula of MMOs and just put a different mask on it, and by this stage people see through it. The WoW clones can no longer hide in the crowd. Their life span is becoming shorter and shorter before they go F2P. The setting of this game is the only thing it has going for it, the rest you can find elsewhere every day of the week. I say cancel your sub, take advantage of free game time BW handed out, play some D3, maybe try GW beta weekend, and for the love of god stop visiting these forums, for they are one sad, desperate and toxic place. Peace
  2. I do believe they should follow up in the same way they do it at the early levels, as lvl 10 you can buy lvl20/40 gear. So as you are working your way towards a certain level you can start building your gear and bam at 20 you have your gear, then you can start working on lvl 40 gear. Then you hit lvl 50 and you are a fish out of water trying to pvp against the expertise decked people. It probably has to do a great deal with the expectations people have but in my mind it was that I will claw my way to rank 60 and start collecting BM gear, I had my quests all done, hit rank 60, few days and bags later no pieces I feel little down. Grinding to get a small chance at something is just disappointing. I see nothing wrong with people hitting r60 and bam getting half their set because they saved up for it. Let's be honest, by the time you are r60 you have done your fair share of PvP.
  3. My bad, in that case just allow Champion Commendations to purchase BM gear provided you are BM rank. You can still have RNG BM token which grant an item or 1/2 an item dependent on the cost but you can also buy it with Champion Commendations at little bit more inflated prices (34, 45, 75 or so)
  4. Grind to BM is painfully mindless and long as it is. (I did it solo, maybe in a premade its more fun and faster). At the rate I've been going I will complete my set by the time I'm rank 65 and even that is if the RNG loves me. What is the point in aiming for certain valor rank (r60) when even then you have zero guarantee you will get the gear which is the hallmark of the rank. It is the combination of the worst MMO gating mechanics ever. - grind to 60 (2-3 weeks of heavy play schedule @ 5 hours a day) - @r60 play daily for 3 wins and 30 illum kills (roughly 3-4 hours a day) - deal with RNG through out the whole thing and possibly never get what you want. And then people start making threads where they claim BM is too easy. /golfcap
  5. LvL 10 smuggler is pretty much useless, you have 1 heal and 5 dmg abilities and one long cd stun, you have barely any gear in half of the slots and you get curb stomped by anything that looks at you funny. In this 10-49 bracket the odds are stacked up against the lower level three times as much as in the lvl 50 bracket for an under geared player. In the 10-49 bracket you have to take on people with more gear and more talent points and more abilities. In the level 50 bracket you only have to deal with people with more gear (reads expertise)
  6. Wasnt there a thread about a day ago how mercs and commando are the best pvp healers. And now this thread comes up....gotta love forums
  7. Silly me to expect a game with playable fps on a top end computer. (WZs and Illum)
  8. I am almost willing to bet money that if I got you to link a ss showing fps in WZ or Illum it would show around the mark of 10-20 fps (aka borderline unplayable) but because you love the game so much and either got used to it or simply don't know any better it feels like an awesome smooth gameplay.
  9. I love the optimism and I wish I could share it, but realistically this kind of thinking only gives BW a free pass to delay any such actions indefinitely. They have not even openly admitted there is an FPS problem when there are multiple people on screen in WZs/Illum etc. Even their recently released guide just briefly mentioned this with a comment that low GPU usage should be expected as majority of heavy lifting in this scenarios should be done by the CPU. My understanding is that the game engine in the current form is not even able to utilize any modern day quad core or better CPUs. (so really the poor performance is still not the end user's problem and rather for Bioware to fix). Anyway how about we take a more common sense approach and all unsub until all these things are fixed so we dont have to pay for our wait in the meantime, especially when nobody can tell how long are we to be waiting for.
  10. Even in dps spec they have enough healing to outheal any dmg you drop on them 1v1. Need I say more?
  11. Extremely relative, it enhanced the game in term of convenience. You can get your pvp/pve done at any time that suits you. It eroded communities, with the introduction of cross server queue automatically any accountability for your actions is gone. You want to be an A hole, free pass and whats worse even if you find someone that a genuine great player whom you wish to party with in the future, well you can't.
  12. Those are the only kind of posts which get replies, the coherent ones don't even get a second look as they make whoever is presenting counter argument realize they are just wrong. Read my reply before before that and prove me wrong. For the record even my foolish reply holds more ground than your rant about entitlements being bad.
  13. Lets just be able to buy all gear for 1 credit, I mean any gear, you know the rare thing you got from that really hard boss on a hard mode, or that crafted earpeace which took ages to make. Well now a guy who runs into the wall half the time and clearly is mentally impaired gets the same stuff just because. Yes that would make the game heaps fun, and challenging too...or not
  14. Its like hitting 50 and wanting to do hard modes and doing laughable damage and getting hit hard. Your gear simply isn't there for what you want to do. I admit in PvP you do not really have the choice to select what kind of opponent you are up against but maybe that is something BW should look into, provide brackets or a matching system that considers players valor rank. Edit: Mind you PvP is more forgiving, if you want to PvE above your gear level you will simply NOT progress, if you PvP above your gear level you can still acquire gear but at a slower pace
  15. Now gentlemen, please do stay on topic What does your day in this flawlessly optimized game look like?
  16. So I'm doing my WZ grind today as I do most days on my way to r60. At 57 atm thank you very much. Game running flawlessly at 15-30 fps as usual. (my 6970 chilling on 0% usage looking at my 3.2Ghz Quad hitting 40% usage 8gig Ram) Five wins later I am still only two thirds through my daily. Alt tab to check the patch notes, yup they fixed something that I wasn't even aware that was broken. Feel free to contribute with your day in SW:ToR No flaming! Just sarcasm or a straight face, the choice is yours, unlike the Warzones!
  17. I remember WoW before resilience was introduced. I rocked up with my full PvE BWL gear and half of Altarec Valley died to my multishot, Aimshot one shot kills etc. It is a necessary evil to have PvP gear. That is the reason why there has to be separate stat/gear for PvP and PvE As for the gear progression/grind/acquisition, well this pretty much follows the basic ideology of any MMO. Put in the time, pray to the RNG gods and you will profit. Truth be told, as ridiculously annoying and painful it is to do your X games to be able to buy the bag only to get nothing or another duplicate is, it really is no different than clearing an instance and the boss not dropping what you came for. Also, this whole exercise creates incentive to continue to play provided it does not turn the player away first. If pvp was some kind of open door, not specific gear needed, lets see who is better event; -a, people will always work out a way how to get upper hand by putting in extra effort (and those who are not able/not willing to put that effort in will complain that it is not fair) -b, if this scenario literally meant everyone is "naked" or EQUALLY geared. This kind of competition simply for a pat on the back would soon become boring as there would be no physical/digital incentive to keep going.
  18. This is what happens when the knuckleheads on your team let the range sit at the back and freecast
  19. Funny that I play as Defense JK and I majority of the time (~90%) come up top of the scoreboard. My damage is between 100-200k, around 50-100k protection and up to 10k healing from 2 piece. 1v1 I can deal with anyone. Yesterday I had a good 1v1 with a sorc healer, I finally killed him once his energy thing ran out after about 5 min and my health was down to 10% Main thing about PvP tank is to get the spec right. Gear offensively and in group environment cc/taunt/guardian leap whenever the stuff isn't on cooldown (and is called for) Oh yeah, my spec http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#500frhfzMbkzZhRrMR0z.1
  20. There are 3 tiers of PvP gear, if I am in the 2nd tier of PvP gear or the 3rd tier of PvP gear (aka I'm rank 60) a fresh lvl 50 to 50WZ bracket should really be able to feel the pain when my lightsaaber hits his face. If this game had dps meters you would see this difference between a fresh 50 in OPs and someone geared to their teeth, so why should PvP be any different. Rather than nerfing gear (PvP gear) they should introduce some alternative way for people who wish to engage in PvP to acquire entry level gear. WoW did this during TBC where you were able to just straight up purchase a very basic PvP gear from a vendor, only requirement was the gold. Introduce a tier 0.5 PvP gear and don't give it any badge nonsense requirement, problem solved.
  21. I play PvP tank and to be honest Guard really needs to be as good as it is, because once you rotate through all our glorified CC (which are all around 1 min cd) and this doesn't even account for full resolved bar and the CC not landing at all, you really can't help the healer in any other way than to take away some of his/her pain. Oh yeah and scratch the attacker's back with your laughable dmg. By the way, you need to be strategic about this. This issue here is not "oh snap" we can't kill the healer because of the tank protecting him. The real issue in pvp is how to make the healer stop healing and killing him is only one of two ways. EDIT: It significantly nerfs your focus generation, not to mention that the one trick pony spec of focus (rage?) is what needs nerfing/be discouraged from going into the defensive stance. nerfing Guard is not it.
