  1. You missed it. Deal with it. I've missed a lot of stuff in mmos due to not being subscribed or not playing. I missed the dvl companion, I missed the hk chapter, I missed maybe 5 years worth of anniversary events on wow, I missed every exclusive on gw2, but that doesn't mean I deserve to get them when I start playing again and God knows I wouldn't pay for them. Besides there is 0 story relevance to these companions. Hk just has a "talk with me while I reboot" mission, you make a drink for Nico then he never does anything again, you have a small convo with shae then she never talks again. I'm glad you chose rl over a game, but that doesn't mean you should get rewards you missed out on. Paid or otherwise.
  2. Ironic because he doesn't seem to care that she and I are "canoodleing" in our free time...
  3. I still wreck everyone and everything on my sorcerer so....I don't see the issue. Yes mercs put me on the defensive that's for sure, and if I ignore them they will kill me. But most of the fotm re rollers Crack under pressure and get killed, and right now that's like 90% of the mersin out there.
  4. Torian is neutral leaning dark and Vette is a light side companion. Where did you get the idea they are both dark? Unless you mean imperial companions, to which I say imperial =/= dark.
  5. There was a choice? I will save Vette every time. She was the first companion I ever got (back in beta warrior was the first class I played) My first companion romance My first to 10k affection (when that was a thing) She went on every mission with me unless I was forced to use someone else because story. She is hands down my favorite companion, Torian is just some merc to me...nothing impressive just a bland "Im a Mandalorian, my clan is disliked, respect, honor blah blah blah.."
  6. Are you talking about 55 or 51, because 51 is locked by a quest line not credit dump. And once you finish 51's quest you can use cc or crews to instantly unlock him. 55 on the other hand is canonicly dead unless you were a sub during the right time period. It's no biggie if you missed him, I missed his unique chapter and I'm not making threads about it.
  7. Who ever your talking about isn't doing it right then. I've gone through most content, barring operations which I have no interest in, just fine in all 3 specs. Heck I'm still in my 65 pvp gear. Not saying class balance isn't an issue, just saying that they aren't a "content blocker"
  8. D-did you just call me hitler for playing sith? So counterpoint time. Lets look as the sith code: Peace is a lie there is only passion. Not an inherently evil statement, in fact it is quite true. Peace is a lie, there will always be war strife and pain there is no way to avoid that. There are just times where the amount of that we are involved in is low, and that is what we strive to achieve. How do we achieve this? With passion. Our passion to meet our goals and our dreams. Is that evil? or murderous? Through passion we gain strength, through strength we gain power Again, where is that evil? We get stronger when we strive to meet our passions. I dont you work harder when your passionate about some thing, thus making you stronger? Also strength does give us more power, they are similar in nature. Is that evil? Through power we gain victory Victory, aka our goals. The power we gained aids us in achieving our goals. Now I will admit that those goals could be evil, but nothing in the code states it needs to be evil or murderous. It also depends on characterization. Through victory our chains are broken, the force frees us Nothing in this is evil, infact it is quite good. It is preaching freedom! The sith represent freedom to choose, something the jedi deny their students. So tell me again how the sith are evil?
  9. I'm just hoping I'm not the only one who "stayed single" hoping for their significant other to come back.... Side note can we also get acina as a companion + romance while their at it? (Don't spoil it I'd she is, only done 1 play through so far)
  10. I found this to be one of the better story expacs The choices may not have had galaxy changing effects (aside from one or 2) but they had enough effects/were the results of my own actions which was enough for me.
  11. I transferred over from bastion earlier this week. I am a 65 madness sorc, full exemplar with augments. I am looking for an active purely pvp guild, I have 0 interest in pve. Character name: Blueberry bomb
  12. This is just another "agree with me or your not being constructive, trolling, rude, things skinned" thread. I'm not a fan of active combat, why? Because cause it reduces how much we can actually do. Going from 10-16 abilities unique to my class that give it some definition to do you want click one button with a sword, saber, or gun? I've played dcu online, you can play the whole game doing one attack set no skill required for that (also still has cool downs and abilities to watch, even rotations), I played eso which is literally skyrim online I never HAD to use abilities (just like I never had to use magic in skyrim) and the classes had absolutely zero uniqueNess to them, it's all the same with different armor. First ally I have looked into blackdesert online, from the videos I watched every class is exactly the same but with different skins for each class. This "action based" combat is just an excuse for less effort in class design while pretending it's more difficult (getting youth of the fire is getting out of the fire, doesn't matter the combat system) mechanics. If you really like those playstyles than by all means go play those games you listed, but as people have mentioned swtor is not failing (as in making negative profit) as of now and ea has exclusive rights to star wars games (probably why the one Tux mentioned is only a rumor for 2 years, that's around when ea got the rights. They won't step on toes for what, according to everyone's reaction in this thread, is a flavor of the month playstyle that's just copying the failed model of those previously mentioned games (if they were that good, swtor would be dead and wow would be suffering more than it is).
  13. No you don't have a right to be pissed, you chose to take a gamble hoping it would pay off. It did not, it's like going to the casino and losing $1000. You don't run around screaming about how it's a bad business model and they should guarantee at least winning your bet back every game. Suck it up, sell the stuff you don't want on the gtn and save up your credits or buy more packs if you want it that bad. I swear every new pack there is a thread like this...
  14. As much as people would love it, it's not going to happen. Not only are the weps tied to class identity, their also tied to class mechanics. Pretty much every ability in the game would have to be re-worked to include other weps. Like clairvoyant strike, if I remember right requires double ended Saber or electrostaff. They would need to make it work for all weps, make the damage stable between them (eg with dual sabers it's critting 5k but with single Saber it crits 10k.) And they would need to make the aninations work as well. It's not going to happen in this game, with the work involved they might as well make a new mmo. Also regarding someones want for Saber with off hand pistol and grenade launchers and new abilities with different weps, never gunna happen. That brings all the issues stated above and adds even more for balancing these new abilities with the others in game.
  15. So let me understand your post. Since bioware made ONE single quest centered around pvp, and gave it a cool reward (that being a companion). This means the game is going pure pvp, even though this whole expansion is centered around the story. And since YOU dont like the the content that bioware is working on that means they need to stop and limit it so YOU can play YOUR way. Well just to clue you in, MMORPG stants for Massively MULTIPLAYER Online Role Playing Game which means there are other people. Other people who might like pvp and who appreciate some content being created to update our favorite way to play. By the way, PvP is what I love and its all I want to do that doesnt mean Bioware has to stop all progress on PvE content. Quit complaining about the stupid M1/Pierce quest, man up, que for pvp, or do something else.
  16. It still feels like star wars to me. I have a lightsaber. I use force lightning. Ive seen the growth of my character to a point of being at their peak, followed by the trajic fall and being forced to re-build. I dont get the hate with being called commander. Its generic term a and generic term b. And idk what game you were playing, but no one "trembled" as I walked into the room post 50. It was more like attitude and not caring that you were sith. Especially in SoR, no one even took you seriously when you claimed your title everyone was like "Lolz, your just a pirate captain". I think the direction of the story is going in a good direction, and im looking forward seeing it through.
  17. Do you go to the casino, bet 60 dollars, lose, then demand your money back? Because thats what your ding. RNG is RNG, I bought a hypercrate and got nothing good (imo, most of it sold quick so somone liked it), But last time around I go 2 of one of the hardest things to get. You never know what you will get.
  18. So the companion grind is a bit painful for everyone. Pvpers have to do the heroic star fortress quests 6 x (number of alts) times. Pvers have to play at least 10 x (number of alts) wzs. Not to mention the other grinds like doing Xalec or Qyzens quest numerous times. So my thought, is give us an option to unlock companions via legacy for credits/Cartel coins. Similar to treek and HK, and to an extent the new battle companions. The unlock could be legacy or per character, idc which really. The cost for this could relate to how difficult they are to obtain, with ones like qyzen lokin and pierce/m1 being the lowest cost and the heroic 2+ being the highest cost. This way all the PvErs out there who are also altoholics only have to play a minimum of 10 wzs max of 20 to get M1/Pierce. After which they just unlock em with the thousands of credits we all have or with CCs. And PvPers like me who do NOT want to do the Star fortress quests again can unlock them easily. I support biowares attempt at having companions rewarded based on your playstyle in the game, and I want them to continue to do so. This just makes it a little less tedious and repetitive to catch alts up. Thoughts?
  19. I wont miss you when the afk wz timer boots you out. And if your on the enemy team, ill have fun farming you to no end. OP dont listen to this guy, hes just a pessimist that is salty because bioware threw pvpers a bone. even if it is an iddy biddy wishbone from an ant.
  20. So first of all, it doesnt require ranked pvp. So many people seem to think so, but it just requires 20 warzone matches (wins count as 2). This is nothing, especially on a high pop server where que times are minimal. Second, this has very little to do with the actual KOTFE story line, infact i doubt I will ever be hearing from M1/Pierce ever again now that I have them. Skipping the mission just means missing out on any future companions/quests that will be barred by his mission. But as somone stated, they will more than likely be pvp related. I understand that you dont like PvP and that 20 matches seems like its a lot, but it really isnt. Here is my advice to you: 1.) Get a set of 198 gear, similar to the greens from leveling, and have that equipped in all slots. This will make your expertise with bolster 1968 (or somthing like that). Its not 2018, but its better than zero. 2.) what to do in WZs. If you are inexperienced or just plain dont like pvp, dont worry too much about taking an active role in major objectives (Carrying the huttball, placing bombs, etc...). You can be very helpful with out doing so, here is how for each WZ: Huttball (either map): If the enemy has the ball target the ball carrier as top priority, otherwise focus on healers. Your pve rotation works just as well, just do your best to also stay alive but there is nothing wrong with dieing. If your team has the ball, get ahead of them. Doing so makes you a leap/pass target. If you have any heals at all heal the ball carrier some, if your a tank guard the carrier and taunt like crazy. Otherwise follow your rotation and CC as much as possible. Novare/Civil war: Respond to call outs. Just being there to stop casts and help defend is enough to be helpful. Always stay with the node and dont chase enemies when they run, let them run off and heal you will be ready. If you do end up guarding, call everything. Even if it is one guy and your sure you can handle it, dont risk it call it out. Also dont stand on top of the node, stand about 15-20 meters away minimum, this way if you get sapped the cc will wear off before they finish capping so you can interupt. Voidstar: Attacking, be that guy glued to the node. keep clicking the bomb to place, you will die alot. But when there is a gap in defenders coming you will get the bomb planted while the team CCs and peels enemies away. If somone else is planting, go CC. Stun, mez, knock back, slow, anything to keep defenders out of ranged. Defending, stay glued to the door your defending. Hit anyone planting. Knock em back, stun em, mez em, anything. Also, like other wzs call incs. Ancient Hypergate: Run orbs, in the middle of the map there are 4 clickable nodes. Click it, get the orb, and run it to your pylon. It is easy to do and requires little fighting against other players. If you get stuck defending, just like the others call out incs and dont stand on top of nodes. 4v4 arenas: Do your best. I know its not the most helpful advice, but trying really is the best thing to do. Dont just stand there and wait to die, go fight. Go all in. Its better than nothing or /leaving. Who knows, maybe you will like Pvp by the end of doing this and go back once and awhile. When it comes to whether you can access future Theron missions, the devs already said that you will be locked if you dont have the M1/Pierce quest finished. But like someone said, it will probably be another "win X number of wzs" or "Kill X number of players"
  21. How would it be game breaking? It wouldnt effect actual gameplay at all (When it comes to naming battle companions at least). And How am I entitled? I already have what I want, just wish I could name it. As for the second part, that would be neat to be able to create our own custom battle companion. Id even go as far as to let us pick the "class" it is as well.
  22. A tamed beast is a tamed beast. "Ok I need to track down sith infiltrating the jedi order. Alright Mr.Cuddles time to shine!" They are drawn to the darkside, so they could track hidden sith and fallen jedi.
  23. Now that you have started adding Beast and Droid companions into the game through the cartel market, you should give us the ability to name it. Seeing as its name will probably never be spoken by a character, it would be pretty neat. Id love to be able to name my nexu "Mr.Smilie" Ive always wanted to have a nexu beast named that xD. Also, it would be neat if you added a few very minor story missions with the droid/beast companions. Playing fetch, going on a hunt, watching them torment Koth or Lana. Would be kind of funny and entertaining to watch. Though that might be harder to implement and may not go over well with people who dont buy from the cartel market. Thoughts?
  24. Must Get Nexu beast. This is a requirement. Like I will be spending like 5 million dollars to get it.....Can somone loan me 5 million?
