  1. I'm gone as of the end of this month for this very issue. Yep cancelled. I don't want to controll what others do either, all I'm asking is for an optional filter, the same way you wouldn't want to be trashtalked or perhaps see profanity in chat. It's not a problem in the part of the game BioWare are proud of and do best; they pretty much stuck to the OT canon.... it's what happens afterward that is becoming less and less like Star Wars.
  2. Fair enough. You miss the spirit of my suggestion. We don't need to argue. We have two camps that can play together with the aid of a filter, they do this for chat between factions, why not between Original Star Wars fans and everyone else who doesn't associate those colour with meaning? Everyone can win!
  3. Faction. No-one should be wearing the enemy team colours infront of the boss(es). Also good for pvp.
  4. No. Classically the colours for force users represent a distiction in faction, not morality. Red is clearly Sith. When we choose what side to play in SWTOR we can't ever cross over so it doesn't ever make sense to wear the enemy's colours and pretend to be something that character will never be, especially when the jedi/dark council is watching.
  5. Looks like Star Wars, has great Star Wars-y stories, but once other people are involved with no restrictions; it's no longer looks like the Star Wars I, and many others love. There's no point in arguing either. Colour filter option(s) will give everyone what they want! Everyone wins! It would be nice if BioWare introduced these features in tandem.
  6. Not true. GL: blue and green for "good guys" and red for "bad guys."
  7. I don't disagree... The story portion of the game is a homage to the films as well as their own work. But your missing the entire point. With a MMO you want to appeal to as many customers as possible! Especially this one where George Lucas takes 1/3 of all income. This isn't a case of choosing between one set of customers or another, both can co-exist. We just need a filter and if George lucas is getting 1/3rd of my money, I want a Star Wars product that looks like the films.
  8. The restrictions were a mess before launch and made it through to retail. The extended universe which is perhaps indulged in by maybe 5% (judging by book sales less than 0.05%) of people who like Star Wars is in direct contradiction of the films. For force users; sith mostly and eventually use red. Samuel L Jackson gets purple, and everyone else is blue or green. I totally agree that ranged weapon users should be free of restrictions. If those who don't care about George's Legacy are getting their way can those of us who do care please also get a classic color filter option or two. One with classic colours and one with solo exemption and everyone else (force users) with classic colours so we can have our Star Wars fantasy too.
  9. Not a bug per-se, more of a functionality feature; your default attack is supposed to go there which is activated with the right mouse button.
  10. Bioware will RMT stuff in the months and years to come, save your anger for that rather than a free title for just subscribing to a subscription based service.
  11. Star Wars is not subtle in it's portrayal of good guys and bad guys. If you're a bad guy in the Star Wars universe, you're going to look like a bad guy in the Star Wars universe. Have you tried rolling same species on different factions yet? -Very different character creation options, especially zabrak. Get with the program!
  12. THIS IS NORMAL!! Not a bug. It's a feature that stops pvp abuse by non-flagged players damaging or healing other participants in combat. As with all AOE attacks, be careful when and where you use them. That is all.
  13. Wear your corruption with pride, you worked hard for it, many puppies were kicked, kittens killed and seals clubbed, not because you did it, but because you were off somewhere else being a complete BMF.
  14. I was barely over min specs and I'd crash all the time in warzones too, couldn't even play voidstar - instant crash. I upgraded and the game and especially PvP is fun now. It's an entertainment product and your machine is not capable of providing that entertainment. Time to upgrade.
  15. Check to make sure you've selected the right server.
  16. True, but let's be honest here, not everyone is in such a situation. So where do those players go to get their stuff? Pugs. So they end up screwing over average Joe. Average Joe eventually realises he's being screwed and ninjas stuff he won't use....but potentially could.... community goes to hell. It's all about efficiency. Main before offspec is efficient. People get things that improve what they're doing, once you start taking stuff from other players doing that role you reduce their efficiency and in return, they will start taking stuff from you that reduces your efficiency at that role. Gearing up time is doubled. Which is why, even with a dual spec option, there still needs to be disincentives to actually using it. Pure classes don't gain much from dual spec, they lose out in the long run to others which is why the OP is correct in asking for flexibility to be costly.
  17. Nope. You're probably going to end up in a situation where you're rolling against other DPS for their gear whereas they have no interest in tanking/healing stuff.... Aquiring two sets has a direct cost on others that wouldn't be there if you stuck to just one role.
  18. Possibly, nodes respawn after around 3 minutes so I find myself stopping at each and every one on the way to an objective and again on the way back, most involve killing a pack of mobs or two. I'm currently level 25 on my assassin and I'm not even halfway through Nar Shadaa... and I also skipped the Balmorra bonus series.
  19. I agree with OP. Perhaps 2 million creds upfront and you're then entitled to pay just 10% of the usual respec costs per switch with two saved templates. This should increase the supply of pure dps rather than part-timers taking a dps role to fill a vacant spot. Yes my server has mostly tanks and healers.
  20. Have to agree with the others, I'm always 2-5 levels above the content because I'm alternating alts with rest xp, running the space dailies and gathering materials mostly involves killing extra stuff. And that's all completely solo.
  21. It should happen at the end of the first chapter of your story arc (around level 30ish). Frankly I didn't even notice a war had started because I had already been waging one for most of those levels (time spent, not actual numerical levels).
  22. There are MMO's that allow you to continue going but the level curve becomes so prohibitive that even the most hardcore gamer will play for a decade and still only be several levels higher than average gamers and that level advantage does not correlate to western MMO's where lover level stuff outside a certain range are easy or higher level stuff again with a certain range are hard, it's purely just a small statistical bonus.
  23. Minmum standards for business where I live practiced by the most prominent company offering online services is greater than 99% up-time. 24*7 = 168 hours per week. To find the uptime versus actual hours in the week we only need to divide 8/168 = A very long number but rounded down, SWTOR is running at 2.83% downtime, which is way more than unacceptable.
