  1. I sell the items for the price that I'd be willing to pay myself (which incidently usually is quite a bit below the highly inflated standard market price, the same goes for every MMO), I mean why would I expect someone else to pay more money for something than what I myself would be willing to pay for the same item, that's just rediculous. EDIT: The GTN is fine, it's the players greed that's broken, has been in many MMO's, for a very loooooong time
  2. If you have seen the result of that in any prior similar situation you wouldn't be asking that question, it usually just gets worse when they recieve information, they twist and turn it to say it means something completely different
  3. Restarting a game server usually means: 1. Shutting down the services 1a. (possibly/optional) making a few backups of crucial databases 2. restarting the servers 3. checking the logs for unexpected error messages 4. starting up the services needed 5. check the logs for unexpected error messages 6. launch server software 7. check logs for unexpected error messages if you get unexpected error messages, attempt to correct and/or start over from 1.
  4. Source for that? I have yet found a single official post anywhere on the internet that the SWTOR part of Bioware has had a 30% layoff, "some" is the only statement that I've seen
  5. I must have missed something, but since when does some of an unknown number equal half of that same unknown number?
  6. Multiple different teams, it's been stated an absurd amount of times, Multiple different teams, the development process for current and future content is made by Multiple different teams, I didn't forget to mention that there are Multiple different teams, did I? tl;dr Multiple different teams
  7. It would bother me a great deal since different classes, alignment and genders gets somewhat different greetings and responses in the "shared" quests and is one of the things that keeps me hooked, without it I'm not sure I could keep up the interest.
  8. Actually the different package contents and pricing is to gauge what people are willing to pay for and where the sweet spot is, I've done (with done I mean filled, not created) tons of similar surveys over the years, for beverages, music, movies, clothes, games etc, while the survey might not be officially Biowares, the statistics the 3rd party surveyer gathers can be used/sold. I don't think the survey was particularly well made but I've seen far worse.
  9. [sarcasm] Yeah, what were they thinking, first they let crafters critcraft gear to add augment slots to it then they let anyone add augment slots to their gear using nothing but credits and augment kits, augment kits that the same aforementioned crafter crafts, it's crazy [/sarcasm]
  10. Yes, as a concept it could be seen as easy but I know from experience that in programming that concept and reality rarely, if ever, mesh and an easy concept is rarely easy to implement (especially after the fact) in reality.
  11. Ok...... so from this we can conclude that you either have zero programming knowledge or just enough programming knowledge in BASIC to think that you know what you are talking about without actually having a clue, enough said.
  12. Yes, TERA's combat system is quite innovative, which might keep you hooked for a week or two, then you notice that the rest of the game (except for maybe the politics system) in my opinion is far below SWTOR (doesn't matter if you think SWTOR is great, ok or that it sucks, TERA's worse).
  13. The game has a few flaws that can be considered as facts and a ton of different things that some people consider flaws due to their own opinion, and that's a fact.
  14. Nightmare Lands (Empire & Republic) & Luka Sene (Republic) Average on fleet - A tiny portion of the total server population (a population that seems pretty healthy).
  15. I'm greatly attached to my characters, especially my Bounty Hunter and Imperial Agent. I've only seen 1 person so far that's even close to my BH in gear looks and only a couple IA's, so no, I don't have any problem feeling unique and 1.3+ will further increase the chance of diversity with augment tables and armor adaptable social gear.
  16. I have 16 characters I play (some a little more seldom than other) and I rarely spacebar through dialogs, doesn't matter if it's the same quest I've done on 8 other characters since mostly they are either of a different gender, class or "morality" which means that a lot of the responses differs somewhat even if the end is more or less the same.
  17. You could say that the same goes for the hired bashers from other developers.
  18. On the contrary, in my opinion voice acting in tandem with the cutscenes, choreographed combat and focus on story is what pushes SWTOR over most other MMO's. Other MMO's like Tera has an interesting "new" combat system which was interesting for a couple of days before I got bored with it and then I noticed that the game was in almost every other aspect an extremely pale WoW clone.
  19. Obviously you don't understand, you might think you do but you really don't.
  20. I can have a go too. Neither I or my friends have encountered much of what the OP has, the problems the OP states are in my opinion highly exagerated or atleast not common to every player, sure the game has bugs, but I and my friends have only encountered minor glitches and non-severe bugs (except for a few that was hotfixed pretty fast) so far and we've been playing since release. So my recommendation is to try the game out and make up your own mind, don't listen to me or the OP.
  21. Working as intended means that it works in more or less the best capacity the current framework supports (ie within it's limitations), it doesn't necessarily mean that it might not be changed/improved in the future if/when they manage to migrate/improve the framework, it just means that currently "it's working as intended". The "big butt" problem is caused by a "limitation" in the fabric physics and models to avoid clipping problems (or atleast lessen it as much as possible, I believe there's been a statement about the same thing applying to helmets). That the way it works isn't to your satisfaction or doesn't suit your needs does not mean it's a bug. if it is "Working as intended" and you don't like it then you submit a suggestion on how you would like it to be. I have no problem with the phrase "Working as intended" because I understand what it means (see my answer above).
  22. If they implement microtransactions then the only things I'd like to see in it is purely cosmetic things that still would be possible to acquire ingame, anything else and they'd better offer an exit door for free.
  23. ~25% dropoff is what you actually expect a brand new MMO to usually have within the first 3 months before levelling out and slowly start to climb, that's the average number mostly all of the more or less successful MMO's have had since...... well ever, that it took SWTOR almost 6 months to reach that number is a good sign, but a naysayer will never listen to this so why bother. The ~25% represents the people who jump from ship to ship, people just trying the game out while waiting for something else, people who just play any game through once or twice and get bored, people whose real life priorities changes, children who try and hold their breath in the hopes that their parents give in and give them candy or icecream etc
  24. So you, glanced at an article and decided to start spreading lies and false information? Next time you want to spread fear, read what you link to. EDIT: Stocks always drop when there's a rumour about layoffs and there's no information to why they are laying off people, after they released the information the stock regained some of the strength (not all because some people are still cautios or already diversified into something else). SWTOR is still getting funded, doing as well as they've asumed, go Doom & Gloom somewhere else please, you were wrong.
  25. Most probably the same thing here.
