  1. Great question. Search for "into the pit" in the search box. It'll answer it for you.
  2. First, the class is poorly named. We're not assassins, we're not "inquisitors." We're glorified Imperial Reclamation Service Workers. Go to this cave, get something old. Go to this tomb, get something old. Go to this planet, get something old..... That's the class story, with broken (poorly designed) companions. And the ending is a major letdown. Roll a BH or a Soldier if you want a good story.
  3. Naw, it's a BS quest. Fully understand. But I always search the forums when things seem...wrong.
  4. @ the OP Abvll..... Um, is your search function broken? There are literally a dozen threads on this. After your third wipe, you should have searched the forums.
  5. I was running an Alt on Korriban last night. I walked out of the Sith Academy on my baby sith and...***...there's 40+ players standing around on the steps. The emotes and the nakedness were flying. After a few whispers, turns out it was a guild meet-up (Alpha Imperium, on the DWC server). 1) It was great to see an active guild event that didn't revolve around trading kills in Illum (the only other time I've seen that many people in the same place for a single purpose). 2) Surprisingly, the lag wasn't as horrible as I would have expected (no fighting, so...). 3) It made me feel like I was in an actual MMO, rather than a Star Wars mod of Mass Effect. Great job guys, I'd love to see more events like this.
  6. Found it like 2 seconds after I posted. (Also, different Petrus.)
  7. Your comment got me thinking. I remember needing to "get a buff" from a dancer in the cantina before going on a good ol' Krayt dragon hunt for pearls. (Don't forget to tip.) SWG was an MMO because you needed other players to do things. This is different than, say, "LF DPS for [flash point]." Just like BW's approach to space combat, this whole game is on rails, and you don't need to interact with others. Hell, even our "social" interactions in flash points are sanitized through the pre-scripted choices. Great review.
  8. Where is the documentation on nerfs to hybrid builds and charges? I'd like to see what all the hubub is about.
  9. Oh, I understand the resolve system. That's why I posted in the first place. In normative terms, the immobilization from this specific chain of attacks should not decide the outcome of an engagement before the opponent has a chance to respond in any way. It's an "I win" button when executed correctly.
  10. Lying? You have got to be kidding. This happened. Hence the post, the frustration, and the suggestion for a change. How to reproduce: --Engage in a 1v1 --Force Push your opponent --Force Leap at your opponent --Force Choke your opponent --Opponent's resolve bar will not be full
  11. I'm not taking about the damage. I'm talking about the number of CC's it takes to build full resolve. Three CC's and still not immune to further stun-lock? Why even have resolve if it can't prevent stun-lock?
  12. This exact sequence happened to me in an Alderaan match: Force Pushed (down for 2 seconds), Force Leaped (immobilized for 2 seconds) and Force Choked (immobilized for 3 seconds)...and still I did not have a full resolve bar. Oh really? By the time the choke ended, I was all but dead. 5 seconds later, I was dead. I love the resolve concept. But the way in which resolve builds needs to be adjusted. At present, this is not a Player vs. Player engagement...In order for this to be actual PvP, I would at least like the opportunity to fight back. Suggestion: Increase the rate at which the above CC's build resolve. This would allow for the two CC's, but not the third. And Force Choke is a CC....I don't care what your "lore" is.
  13. This is what I meant. Yeah, 1,000 side quests shouldn't combine to alter the fabric of the universe (although it'd be really cool). Think about the solo class quest in the SI line. About the only thing we get to "chose" is when to kill/shock/release/take money from....NPC's we encounter in the quest line. But that choice doesn't really matter to how the story plays out. Worst of all, it goes against what the Dev's said they were shooting for in the game. See video, and the part about "a story with consequences." http://www.swtor.com/media/trailers/video-documentary-2
  14. Trying to think of a singe example where the game would be different depending on what choice I pick. The only actual choice that has any lasting meaning, is when we decide to go Sorc or Assn. Otherwise, a few LS/DS pts here, our bloody trail through the universe is the same no matter what we "chose" to do. Exception is on Alderaan: If a choice has no meaning, it's not really a choice -- it only has the illusion of choice. There's a difference.
  15. After having played a SI to 50, and am now playing other classes, it's clear to me that the SI storyline was an afterthought. Either the writers used up their creative energy on the Bounty Hunter and Agent stories, or they farmed out the SI story to a bunch of interns. Love the class, but the story does not do BW and SWTOR justice for high quality writing.
  16. Impossible? Really? Hog wash. Who fights Thanaton in the main room, when the Devs gave us these fantastic hallways!?!? Are you kiting him into the hallway, going around the 90 degree corner and breaking LOS? Then 'spank spank,' and kite him back into the doorway (i.e. entrance to the main room)? Repeat until dead. If he can't attack you, he can't hurt you. When the AoE bar for his Force Storm appears on his character portrait, time to 1) interrupt or 2) run and break LOS again. Also, make sure your pet's aggro stance is OFF. You don't want the pet pulling aggro off of you. It's the easiest fight in the game. Just takes forever. (Seriously, you're just going to stand there and let him nuke you? Why, oh why would you do that?)
  17. So. Very. Confused. Regarding the Timeline (very minor spoiler): Could someone please explain, because the people who wrote the content for the SI didn't seem to think that part was very important.
  18. No reason, the patch notes on the removal tried to make it sound like the new NPC items were an "upgrade," or somehow better. They're currently the same things you can purchased while in an instanced PvP battle. As for the set itself, it's solidly meh. It looks a lot like the lvl 40 PvP gear (only it's blue and red). The stats are nothing to brag about, and only offer a small amount of PvP bonus.
