  1. Think about how stupid the average person is. Then realize that half of them are even dumber.
  2. This. It's essentially a soft enrage. We had the same issue, but once we tried actually going quickly instead of messing around, we were able to do it.
  3. I agree about the existing character problem. I created all 8 of my characters on the server I'm active on. It would be very disappointing if there were some cool character creation options that I can't access because I've already created my characters.
  4. So tell me what's so great about it then? I'm a big fan of Frostbite 2.0 and Unreal Engine 3. I'm a hardware guy, and those engines make full use of what I've got. I doubt you'll impress me, as from a hardware standpoint, this game fails to deliver.
  5. It's good from a graphical standpoint, I mean the terrain in this game is awesome, but really? It doesn't have multithreading, buddy. A chimpanzee could quickly google that. http://community.heroengine.com/forums/index.php/topic,889.msg4120.html#msg4120 I love people that make ridiculous claims about people making ridiculous claims that aren't actually ridiculous because they have facts to back it up.
  6. For me, it's not about the bugs that make this engine disappointing. I can't really pinpoint what bugs are engine related, and I'm not going to try and blame any bugs on the engine. From a hardware support standpoint however, the engine is quite embarrassing though. We're in 2011. Simultaneous multi-threading debuted in consumer processors in 2002. Dual cores have been around in consumer products since 2005. Either way you look at it, 9 years or 6, it's just plain bad. That's a terribly long time in the tech world. Unfortunately, it's a giant plague in the software industry, and gaming industry in particular. DirectX 10 has been around since 2006. There's no support for taking advantage of the aforementioned API, which happens to be more efficient. DirectX 11, which offers around a 50% performance improvement over DX9 at the same graphical settings, has been around 2009. Now, I believe Bioware has talked about potentially adding support for these in the future, and I very, very much would like it if they did. But right now, it's not here. There are performance issues abound, and a lot of these would be alleviated if the HeroEngine was remotely compliant with industry standards that have been around for years. Now, I'm not blaming Bioware for this. I'm simply saying from a technical standpoint, this engine sucks. When the HeroEngine gets multithreading support in the future, I hope it makes its way to TOR in a timely manner.
  7. Pretty sure it's working as intended. You only unlock "rich" yields when you unlock the next tier. 400 skill isn't high enough to unlock bountiful and rich yield missions.
  8. Don't even try to RE knives and scatterguns. They have no patterns to discover.
  9. The only difference between orange items, aside from appearance, is what type of armor it is, i.e. heavy or medium.
  10. Slicing still makes boatloads if you're going out and gathering lockboxes on your own. Now you can't just click for easy money at low levels. I don't see what the big deal is. It's still a great money maker.
  11. How ignorant. There are certain items like scatterguns and vibroknives that have 0 chance of yielding a blue schematic.
  12. I agree that the chance should be taken out... it's too much of a frustrating gamble, and it's hard to tell sometimes if an item is bugged/a dead end and simply has no patterns to discover, like with scatterguns and vibroknives which have zero blue patterns to discover. I also think it's shouldn't be made too easy, but I think the suggestion made earlier, 5% for blues and 1% for purples, is far, far too steep.
  13. I don't see what the issue is here. No one on your server is selling it? Then why don't you make your own character with investigation and get it yourself? It's not like it's bugged or anything. I want a pony, but I can never find it on the GTN.
  14. I've had a similar issue, where it appears I'm falling instead of running in place.
