  1. As much as we would all like new chapters of the Class Story right now, it's so expensive and time-consuming to produce that we know it won't happen for a while. Yet class story is where this game shines, and there's one way to bring that into the end game while we wait: Hard Mode Class Story. Once you finish Act III of your class story and companion missions, you unlock access to the Hard Mode version. This would be enormously helpful to the health of the game for several reasons: - Currently, there is not a single challenge in the game for solo players. This would provide you with an opportunity to actually do something challenging with just you and your companion. - It would give you a chance to do all of your class story straight through, without getting bogged down in side quests and other ways to level up. Most people wouldn't mind going through a class story twice, but they're going to be deterred when they need to go through the grind of leveling up just to see a story they've already seen. But if you can just go straight through your story, with challenging fights throughout, it would be a lot more appealing and reignite love for the class stories. A lot of us finished our first character's class story almost a year ago, so it'll be good to do the story again. - It would give companions a use for endgame, since they would need to be geared fairly well to complete the challenge of the hard mode class story missions. Show some companion love. A lot of people would also love the opportunity to talk to their companions again, even if it's the same conversations, and that would go along wonderfully with the Hard Mode Class Story. - It would be incredibly cheap and easy to produce. All this would require is a little bit of programming, without any work from writers, artists, anyone. The only real work to do would be to rebalance the stats of instanced enemies and rework boss fights to make them a bit more interesting. A couple programmers could get this done without impeding the production of everything else the teams are working on. That's a lot of positive for a very cheap introduction to the game! What does everyone think? And what would be good reward ideas for finishing the hard mode class story?
  2. Is the "three-warzone limit for free players" per character or is it only 3 warzones for the entire account? And do the weekly passes that you can purchase through the cartel shop affect just one character or the entire account?
  3. This. I have the Collector's Edition an have been subscribed since launch.
  4. Now those people who would decline, PLUS all of the people who do accept when they're in a warzone, simply won't join the group finder at all. Because somehow that's helpful? Having someone decline a match has 0 negative effect. Preventing people from passing the time while waiting in a 3 hour queue has a VERY negative effect.
  5. This. How did this make it into the game?
  6. When I play through the storylines, I don't want to be interrupted. At all. So when I know a flashpoint could pop at any moment, I like to do something that isn't story-heavy. The only real options, then, are Space Combat and PvP. I'm bored of Space Combat, so the choice is PvP. Why would they prevent people from queuing for both? This is going to make the people who prefer Flashpoints ONLY do flashpoints and no pvp, and vice versa - which means people will get bored sooner from doing the same thing over and over (or in the case of flashpoints, waiting around doing nothing for ridiculous lengths of time). For level 50 content, I somewhat understand it. For level 10-49? It just doesn't make any sense. Flashpoint queues take forever for lowbies, even on populated servers. Who cares of people leave a warzone from time to time in lowbie PvP, anyway? Someone else will join to fill the slot.
  7. Take a look at the difference between dialogue choices in Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 3. In the third game, they make player input less frequent, at points when the conversation actually takes different paths. In my opinion, it worked quite well.
  8. WHAT?! The hell am I supposed to do while waiting for my Flashpoint to pop on my alts? This seriously needs to change.
  9. I was under the impression that changing your mood would change your character's default facial expression in conversations - so, for example, I could make my Smugger's default expression be the "flattered" face rather than the boring stone-faced look that they carry in 90% of the conversation. But... apparently that's not working? It isn't having the mood I choose outside cinematics carry over to the cinematics. And it isn't letting me change my mood in the middle of a conversation. What's the point, then?
  10. There are pretty much never posts on weekends. But it IS a bit odd that there was nothing today. Most importantly... is there maintenance tonight? 0_o. Usually they remind us if there will be one or they tell us there won't be one.
  11. A lot of the hoods simply don't exist if you play a Twi'lek. And yes, that's not ideal, but it's MUCH better than having to wear a hood. IMO, just having the hoods disappear when you "turn them off" would be a decent placeholder until they actually get in the art for all of the hoods being down. But yeah, Bioware needs to realize that some players can grasp the basics of what they say if they actually get into a short explanation of WHY something is difficult.
  12. Request: Give the Digital Deluxe bonus to the CE owners as well =).
  13. Hey BlackHamit, Legacy: You can change between the Legacy Surname and Title in the Game Options menu. I believe it falls under "Social." Rest Zones: I assume you're talking about Rest Zones when you're talking about ships and cantinas. The follow locations are Rest Zones: 1. Cantinas 2. Your Ship 3. Anywhere on the primary part of the Fleet (NOT on the other ships you can travel to on the fleet where you do some of the Flashpoints and Operations) Rested Experience is quite helpful, because as long as you have it, you'll gain double the experience points in combat, which can definitely help improve leveling speed. Nar Shaddaa, like all planets, has a cantina. I know the Empire-side one is in the Plaza area that you need to Taxi to. Hope you're enjoyin the game!
  14. This, along with: 1. A "Large" female body type to match male body type 4 and 2. Male dancer clothes Are things that should really be in the game. Yes, this game has lots of sexist elements. No, it shouldn't have those sexist elements.
  15. Social points are designed to reward those who cooperate with other players. Warzones are one of the most cooperative game types out there, matched only by Operations in this game. Rewarding social points for every warzone completed only makes sense. More importantly, it would offer a lot more diversity in gear choice in warzones. Instead of seeing every Sorcerer in the same Battlemaster or War Hero armor, we could actually see people in any variety of the social gear. For now, that doesn't happen nearly as often because people who focus mostly on PvP have a very low social level, despite the fact that they're some of the most social players in the game. All I ask is that you give us social points for being social.
  16. Agreed on WB being instanced. Or just make the timer be half an hour. Why wait 4 hours? Who does that help? IMO, the only reason for respawn timers on big bosses is so that people dont' see the boss respawning immediately after they kill it, because that looks really tacky. But no one's going to stick around near a WB's corpse for half an hour. It would be a much smarter countdown.
  17. The problem with Jugg/Mara armor is that some of the top-end Mara gear for some reason has way more endurance than Strength. Most of the community agrees that they screwed up the numbers and programming some where in there, because the Mara armor has some tanking stats while the Jugg armor has better DPS stats.
  18. Yep. "they said they were going to be there in a big way, and maybe they were" is a great way to sum it up. The vast, vast majority of fans of no idea what SWTOR did at SDCC... which is really a waste of publicity. Plus, people don't want to know what the con was like AFTER it happened, they want to know AS it happens. It creates a far, far greater sense of community.
  19. Anyone else feel that their community presence at the con should be mirrored here as well, in some capacity? Even if it's just a few screenshots and short blog posts as the con progresses? I know that being a developer at a con is pretty mind-entangling, but the reason presence at a big convention works ISN'T because everyone gets to see you there... because even for a huge con like this, only a very, very small percentage of your community actually attends the con. It's just the idealistic idea that any fan/player COULD be there if we had really wanted to, and you sell that idea by actually posting things on the website alongside the events at the convention. I don't know how much of that makes sense at first, since I just woke up, but doesn't anyone else think that the SWTOR website should be a little more active during a big convention?
  20. I'll say what I said then: Rooting effects like Force Leap might not "take control away" from ranged classes, but it sure as hell does from Melee classes. A Root effect is pretty much as effective against a Marauder or Sentinel as a stun is, without the resolve to show for it.
  21. With the introduction of character transfers and group finder, lots of people have reasons to be happy, able to find groups for content they haven't been able to run in a while. However, there is one negative side to the ability for players to find each other easily: companions are all but useless in the end game. You can't use companions in ops. You can't use companions in warzones. And now, there's no reason at all to use companions in HM FPs, since if you try doing that, you won't even get the BH comms for using the group finder. Now, the only use for companions is to run dailies, and most players would agree that they're more of a "getting geared up for end game" and "if you really need the money" thing to do, not a set of sustainable content. So, I'm proposing to give companions a place that's a challenge, a reason for better-geared players to gear out their companions and work out how best to use them. "Achievement: Complete all Tier 1 Flashpoints with only two players and their companions" The reward can be whatever the devs think people would want, and then you would see people actually attempting to get good gear for their companions in addition to their own characters. This will give the hardcore another thing to do without having to add more content, and it'll give those who love their companions something to work toward. What does everyone think? Would adding this achievement be a fun, challenging idea?
  22. Agreed. I could see a problem being players arguing about whether or not to use a companion, but that could be solved if players were able to vote on whether a companion is used or they wait for more people in the queue.
  23. The Group Finder tool is out, and enjoying it immensely, like many others. However, even on the largest population servers, DPS have incredibly slow queues at certain times of the day. Although we are now free to move off the fleet and still get grouped for something, sometimes there really isn't too much you're interested in doing on your 50 while your waiting. However, I would LOVE to be able to continue doing regular quests on my low-level Smuggler while I wait for my queue on my 50 Marauder. This would do an enormous job of encouraging people to play alts. DPS 50's currently are highly DISCOURAGED from playing alts (the opposite of what Bioware wants) because while they're sitting around waiting and doing nothing, they have no way to log into another character without losing their spot in a 30 minute+ queue. But if you could retain that spot in line while you play another character - and are automatically switched back when a group is found and accepted - it would allow people to play alts freely, making players happier and subscriptions more sustainable. Legacy queuing his would open up an enormous number of possibilities for a player - not only can you do whatever you like on one character while waiting for queue, but you can do what you like on ANY character while waiting.
