  1. Hi both. I've sorted it. the server reboot on the 3rd didn't fix it. I purchased the legacy perk priority transport: Odessen, which allowed me to travel to the planet. I went to the instance and as you both said the portal was indeed blue so i guess somehow my character was still active inside. strange it persisted through the server reboot. anyway thanks for the ideas that led me to purchase the legacy perk. xx
  2. So I was farming decorations in the Nathema Flashpoint. Specifically I was killing the two Jedi side bosses as they both have a 100% decoration drop rate. Furthermore, I was killing one looting it then escaping combat and they would reset. After a while the instance became very unresponsive, to the point of being unplayable, so I exited (may have just hit quit game) and went and did something else. Later I noticed the flash point had gone from both the solo and group lists, and if I try and travel to Odessen, I get 'Error, data not found'. Repair/Reinstall right? wrong. The issue only exists for one of my characters (Character A) . the other two on the same account can travel there fine. I reinstalled the game anyway, but the issue persists. One thing I did notice, as I tried to get into the Nathema instance for the first time with a different character, it said my character A was still in the instance and wouldn't allow me to enter, even though character A was actually in the imperial fleet. I logged in as A, and logged out again (non immediate) and that cleared that up to allow other characters into the instance. My question is, is this some kind of inelegant stealth ban against a single character for farming? Another thought is to wait for the servers to be reset for maintenance. I've raised a ticket, no reply as of yet. Anyone seen such an issue against one character only?
  3. I agree. it's the what if scenario. I just took a dump of my payment history and looked at the last month. I did $150 over the xmas break alone, made my blood run cold. So I deleted all my characters and quit the game. There should be an option to disable cartel purchase, with a 10 day eta on the enable option. That 10 day cooling off period would mean the 'what if' moment would pass.. As many have mentioned, they are never going to limit access to cartel purchases though, as that hurts EA's shareholder profit results.
  4. excellent point. ive just cancelled. 12 days of play left. i wont be logging on for those 12.
  5. 1: Enter NPC type(s) : 1 2: Location(s): Entire Game 3: Group size and Density: 1-3, every 30 feet. 4: NPC action: animated conversation: waving arms around: polishing stuff. Warning, Group size: 1, animated conversation conflict: whatever. 5: run. that's lunch everyone..!!!
  6. I've been sat here all morning, putting off going to cash in my Giro so the kids can have the heating on.. and you make them sit in the cold even longer!!!! damn you bioware
  7. It was tongue in cheek. Why did you capitalize every word but the 1st?
  8. I hate this game, I really do.. I hate it for building my hopes up and then not coming anywhere close to realizing them... but.. I play it most days. I'm on my 6th re-roll of BH having been as high as 45... And as of yesterday I own the normal game, digital upgrade and collectors edition... What the hell am I doing?? It's like that girl at college who is mean to you.. but you can't help sniffing around..
  9. My point exactly..... if everyone one just put up and shut up the innovation would come at a crawl... demand creates urgency.. urgency gets things done. Look at booing - complaining at its most primal and basic - But when someone who wishes to appease the public gets boo'd, it's time for concern, regardless of any exact complaint detail.. I see flamers, whiners, threat leavers and the like as booing.
  10. If the masses are not happy, they will let you know in the simplest terms.. Ignore at you peril.
  11. I'm of the crowd that understands that things are forced to evolve when convention is challenged. Maintaining the status Quo results in complacency and in action. In the years to come when the game has improved, the 'whiners' grit to not accept a sub par product, will have driven that change.. and the fan boys on the side lines will have reaped the rewards..
  12. probably an offshore operation. Like customer support it's all run outta Asia. So even though the tin is regional, the button pressers are central...
  13. He's saying the game is down during his core game time. Not, it's down while he's asleep (that's just for Americans)... He has a point. The 1 month Play time subscription is legally binding and comes with consumer rights. It could be legally challenged as it should include a disclaimer that if you live in western Europe, for 2.5 days of Core Game Time every month, the game will be unavailable.
  14. As an IT Architect. What the hell are they doing to how many servers.. 25-50-100? And what a patch load, recompile and regression testing...? It should all be automated and take 1 guy sat there over night watching his box set of Heroes... If it is very manually intensive and regularly over runs get me in. I'll sack half the subpar work force, put some automation and QoS in place and have things back up on time every week..
  15. It's hardly nit picking The game is a country mile away from polished. The MMO part of the game is one of the poorest out there. The worlds are lifeless and dead and woefully under realized. Players find exploring Star Wars planets boring...? that just isn't right.. and the blame is not with the individual.
  16. 7. Load screens and space stations, just let me get to my destination! or make my fleet pass something like 30 mins. gotta agree with you here. my heart sinks when I need to travel. It's mind numbingly dull, with nothing of interest on the way.. to add a few of my own. Lack of faction drops. If I'm killing Tusken's how about some Tusken loot? Every single NPC drops the same generic crap, even the animals. Exploring results in wasting time... Where's all the tribes, quest chains, interesting drop and opportunities to be found off the beaten path? Every corner of every planet is visited via the main quest hubs... Where's the reward for exploration.? Where's the gear drops that aren't class or quest or story specific.. that something a bit different that someone in the Fleet whispers you "Where the hell did you get that!?" Look different.. ah I forgot, every BH in the know universe look like a Mandalorian right...
  17. You do understand that Ewoks are not in Star Wars lore before Episode VI. They were created as a homage to the USA vs. Vietnam war. Where a technological superior aggressor, was defeated by a technically inferior population. In Star Wars lore, they just happened to be an indigenous species on the moon the empire used to locate the death star shield generator during construction. They are not space faring or wide spread throughout the star wars galaxy. To shoehorn them in to ancient Star Wars lore, would act as nothing more than an unnecessary forced nod to their first encounter in episode VI, several thousand years later.
  18. Wallstreet report on EA 4th quarter says Q4 was slow last year and to avoid a bigger slump Q1 2012, they brought forward SWTOR.. Is that why we have a half finished game? http://online.wsj.com/video/ea-posts-strong-tar-wars-sales/DBE6EC05-D58E-452C-8D26-ED78A10E27B7.html
  19. my advide to you is: all of us here pay for the game and some of us have asperation for the game beyond it's current state. When these asperations are aired, your so go away comments are not welcome and entirely without relevance.
  20. Most players who rush to end game idea of content is: A: something that generates XP B: something that gives you a reward for completion.. They sell some wishy washy nonsense about it being "for the challenge".. tosh... If WOW implemented their hardest every raid tomorrow and players got nothing for completing it but a big "Well done!" on the screen.. the forum belly aching and threats to leave would crash the servers..
  21. I got asked for feedback to the game after my first month's play. Here it is. The game has a lot of issues that will affect it long term playability for me. Travel - the long, drawn out travel is a huge issue for many. Travel acts as nothing more than a huge time sink. More rapid travel paths are needed between planets and the removal of loading screens which break any immersion feeling. A LFG tool should be the highest priority. Many players feel stuck in the fleet area spamming general chat for hours trying to find a group. The window for a given heroic mission is small, so many players I see are simply skipping them rather than taking the huge time hit to try to find a group. Worlds - The worlds are generic , lifeless and empty. They lack any sense of vibrancy what so ever. Every area of a given world feels the same, populate with the same uninteresting cloned NPC's. I would go so far as to say the lazy way the worlds have been populated is the worst I have ever seen in any MMO. Really quite shocking, and makes me feel the game was created without any love or care. Loot- loot is generic across the entire game. Every NPC drops the same generic stuff. Killing one faction or another offers no unique items (to that faction) at all. If I'm killing Tusken's, please let me have some Tusken loot. I can't state how important this is to collectors. Killing a specific faction should always create that wonder... “What if I got that xxx iconic item today”. Crafting is broke. It has no purpose beyond the individual and it's simplistic nature is not interesting for career crafters. Many, many players simply want to excel at crafting and the business of providing items to others over the single player voiced solo story. Lack of viable crafting and player economy is a huge put off for many. More galactic trade centres are needed in more accessible locations. I've met many who can't be bothered with the long drawn out travel to what is essentially a terminal, and the game is so solo focused, they can get by, so they don't even bother. This limits the players feeding into a severs shared economy. Make crafters, gatherers need each other’s items. Make players want and need crafters products. Make crafting more interesting maybe with the experimentation system as used to be found in SWG. SWG hands down had the best crafting, resource system of any recent MMO. Learn from it. I don't know if I'm going to resub at this time. My expectation for this game was very high, and I expected to be around for a very long time, but it had landed way off the mark in pretty much every area. Not a case of things not being to my preference, more a case of things being lazily designed and poorly implemented. Thanks.
  22. Top 5 Lack of forced grouping. Rocket punch Sound is pretty good Gault's lines make me giggle My character has a great ***** Worst 5 Plastic, generic lazy empty feeling world design. Travel - long, boring, add's nothing to the experience, simply acts as a time sink. Lack of faction loot - if i'm killing tusken's, give me some tusken loot - every MMO drops the same generic crap. NPC's - group's of 3-5 stood around taking, while waving their hands about, is about 99% of the non player world population. general lazy bugs and underdeveloped mechanics
