  1. There is unfortunately no new Social Armor for Medium/Heavy users in 1.2. HOWEVER there are new armor sets for every class. There is Legacy Armor. You can purchase armor at a decent price that has stats and is mod-able. There are I believe 3 sets for every base class if I recall. You are able to purchase them at Legacy Level 10, 15 and 20. They aren't too bad, some are better than social gear looks and others... well meh. But with color matching, mix and choosing you can actually come up with something a bit decent.
  2. It would be Jedi Knight. She is a melee combat expert. You could go Sentinel but Knight is probably going to be the best. She does learn a 2 saber combat eventually and uses it before her death, but her preferred and most used style was with a single lightsaber.
  3. I had thought Medium/Heavy Social armor was available. From what I read from the guild summit social armor will no longer be light armor exclusive and should be useable by all without taking a stat loss. I'm only seeing the Light Armor (but then again I'm also only a Sage that uses light armor anyways). Do those that wear Medium/Heavy armor see different base armor stats depending on their armor efficiency? Can someone who is Medium/Heavy user can check out the Coruscant social vendor to check please. Coruscant Social Armor Formal Jacket (Chest) : Armor - 7, Requires Light Armor or above
  4. Healer with companion DPS or Tank is always the best option. As a player you will heal 90% better, more efficient than an AI healer. It lets you take on more complicated situations, CC and fight effectively than if you were a DPS/Tank with a companion healer.
  5. I have a Sage and Shadow. They don't play like the same class at all. I guess technically you could say they were similar if you only were interested in DPS, there are similarities. But if that is what you are interested then it doesn't matter. You want to tank you go Shadow, you want to heal you go Sage. That is where you differences are. I'm always in melee range as a Shadow, fighting close up. As a Sage I'm never in melee range, I'm the furthest back.
  6. If you play Mass Effect there isn't a different between going Renegade vs Paragon. For the majority everything is the same, some choices change but the storywise 95% is still the same. However the endings and consequences between Mass Effect and Mass Effect III are very different... so much that players have leveled both sides of the coin. The same is with SWtOR.
  7. New species will come... just not with a content update like 1.2. You probably won't see a new species until a real expansion happens.
  8. It doesn't take longer than 2 minutes to read the whole article. "Your players, the people who pay you monthly fees to play your game, have been trying to talk to you." - I love how he has been elected the speaking voice for every player in the game and apparently knows what I've been doing... "Removing Ilum PVP quests – rewards being moved to warzones for now." - He can't read. They said rewards are being moved to warzones, not the the quests. Even if they move the quests over, they haven't given any details on what that means and any modifications to those quests. He just assumes they move straight across no changes. That is the biggest issue that "complainers" don't get. They take one sentence and suddenly have planned out how it will implement and how it won't work. They haven't even seen it in action yet but apparently "they know".
  9. 200 hours is only 8.3 days of /played time. Even if the 200 hours was an exact measurement, because it isn't (some classes level faster than others) it would only be 67 days worth of gameplay. In reality if you didn't do heroics, flash points and only did class quests and regular quests then once you hit 50 you've probably only done about 100 hours worth of content. It goes even faster if you spacebar though it too (repeated content at least).
  10. Except when you read text there is no vocal tone, no body language, no sounds, no sign to set the feel for a thread. It is just words. Those feelings come from your own personal feelings or what you inject into the post by reading it and are affected by your current mood, feelings, etc. So if you had a bad day, feeling lousy then you might read it as offending or if you just don't care might not read anything in at all.
  11. I think it is pretty funny that other people insult him about wasting his time, etc. Given the fact they are playing an MMO and I'm sure wasted all their time playing any MMO which doesn't contribute to anyone. EVERYONE is wasting their time, that is what entertainment is Given the fact that it is not too difficult to do what he has said. I currently have 4 level 50's and 12 others in 38-42+ range spread out between my Republic and Empire server. I'm married, helps that my wife plays, work full time and have children. It isn't that hard given I only play 2-3 hours an evening and probably about 8-16 hours on the weekends. It isn't truly a difficult task if you know how to properly chain your quests and don't spend time doing tradeskills, farming mats, doing flashpoints and dailies. If you read his post a bit more, he did say they weren't viable for his play style. I can actually understand that. I do like and can tank effectively as my Jedi Shadow, however I do prefer the tanking style of my Bounty Hunter or Jedi Knight better. It can be done and done well but there are differences. Similar to WoW when you compare Death Knight, Warrior, Paladin and Druid tanking styles. I love tanking as a Paladin and do good as a Druid but don't like Death Knights or Warriors. But I also AoE grind and do a few other things that the Warrior for example isn't suited for. Different play styles, difference of opinion, build and equipment as well also contribute to these things.
  12. No there won't be a way at this time to modify an existing character. If you want them to be a race that you unlocked, you will need to wait till 1.2 to create them.
  13. Because they enjoy playing the game with their wife, spouse, girlfriend, boyfriend or best friend. It is easier for them organize a small group of 2-3 players than find a group of other players to socialize with. Oh and people on the internet are mean! ^_^
  14. Change 'right now' to 'when 1.2 goes live'. The guild summit itself is about 1.2, the question to Legacy was in reference if anything in 1.2 would allow them to change Legacy names. They don't have something in the works currently. I would guess that when 1.2 goes live they will probably have tools to deal with it at that time.
  15. Medium and Heavy social armors are coming in 1.2 along with Appearance Customization.
  16. Since there are no plans to add character slots, this creates some interesting issues. Currently all my characters slots are taken up on Republic and about half of them on Empire. That is fine as I planned to deleting characters and remaking a few lower levels one once new races were unlocked. The issue I have is that I have Empire characters on one server and Republic character on another server. Since there was no trading account wide, there wasn't any reason to have characters on the same server of a different faction. Now when one character reaches level 50 with a species, we unlock the species on all classes for both factions. I would love to make a Chiss Smuggler or Jedi. However since my Empire 50 is on another server and there are no plans to add character slots, that makes that difficult. I can understand it for some unlocks but I don't think race change unlocks should be only server specific, it should be account based. This would alleviate a lot of issues. Especially since eventually you will be working to some sort of linked legacy system or something that works across servers.
  17. I would expect new races to come from an actual expansion, not a content patch like 1.2. Seems fine the way did things.
  18. I wouldn't of made characters on two different servers Empire and Republic and would instead made them on one server.

  20. No someone can not use the same legacy name as you on the same server. The legacy names are server specific.
  21. One of the things that my wife and I loved about SW:tOR are the storylines and versatility of the companions. A lot of them have interesting storylines that you unlock on the way, however only a couple classes can really take advantage or see those storylines effectively. Another thing we enjoyed was that almost every class combination was great for soloing and duo'ing with friends. That playing a healer didn't mean you were completely gimped on DPS, having to respec to level and then respec to heal with friends. They almost did away with the Trinity as groups were still able to run with multiple healers/tanks in a group without making it too difficult. But it is still there enough which is fine. The exception to this is of course Jedi Knight and Sith Warrior. They get a tank and a dps tree which is great, but are limited because they don't have a healing tree. A couple or person can't really enjoy having their companions out and doing missions, without limiting what they can do because of no way to heal the companions (unless you did biochem). They really need a healing tree option either for the Knight/Juggernaut or Sentinel/Marauder tree. This would mean someone could enjoy any of the 'four' different storyline arcs, various combinations with companions if they wanted too. As an example usually when you are either of the classes it is get through the content so you can get your 'healer' companion and solo or at least make questing more on par with other classes/companions. Why have Broonmark, Vette, Pierce, T7-01, Kira, Lord Scourge out unless you are duoing or grouping with someone who is a healer.
  22. Did you play it? The combat was horrendous and so was the ship battles. The graphics were awful too, completely could not even get into it.
  23. Although that is good advice, first it is important to identify who the target market is and actually tailor the game for that market instead of just cloning something already out. Fun is subjective. Your idea of fun is different than my idea of fun. And since you didn't define what your idea of fun is... well then there is nothing constructive here. Since my my wife, my children and I have plenty of fun playing this game... Ever thought that maybe the game wasn't targeted at you?
  24. That is the problem right there. The people complaining that Star Wars doesn't feel like SW and is missing something have earlier perceptions or misconceptions of how they feel/thought the game should be based on a previous experience. They think it should be more like SWG. Or they think it should be more flashier like the movies. Or even more like WoW for that matter. There aren't exact specifics they can come up with, other than it is missing something because to them it didn't meet their conceived perceptions.
