  1. I was going to put ad nauseum, but I didn't think that was appropriate...
  2. I think you'll find that it will last you a couple of levels beyond what comparable orange items would, even with purple mods. At least, that's what I've read.
  3. Ack! I came to the end of the thread! How the heck did that happen? Doesn't this thread go on ad infinitum? Ah well, just have to wait now. Thanks for all the funnies.
  4. You get a +1 from me... I'm also looking forward to having a group finder or "mission" finder tool in the game. It's less of an issue now that I'm on an Aussie-side server, but it was really frustrating to try and find a group for FPs, Heroics and the like prior to the move.
  5. Don't know if you noticed, but he/she/it didn't say 'active subs', just 'subs'.
  6. Yeah, I'll give you the cost of the Legacy awards, but other than that, nope. Those other things aren't "why I hate 1.2". In fact, I don't hate 1.2, and I was pleasantly surprised by it. So there.
  7. I think some on the forums were expecting too much. Me? I was happy to play a Star Wars RPG with my friends. I have never really played MMOs before, a little EVE (in which I got lost... Too much sand in the sandbox and not enough time to sift through it all) and a little LOTRO (I still miss in-game voice chat), but this one hits the spot. I can work with buddies or, when they aren't online, forge ahead on my own. I'd love to know which ones you think beat SWTOR in every department.
  8. Bravo. All too often we just take for granted the good things we see. Thanks for restoring some of my faith in forumites!
  9. In various place, at various times (even in this thread...), the following has been said. so I'm sorry if you didn't read any of the posts before, or if you've not come to the forums before, or if you've been living under a rock and not actually enjoying the game you're subscribed to, but at this point, unless all of the above has not been true for you, it's your own fault.
  10. Hey there, I was playing on a distant US East Coast server and now that server transfers have happened, I'm able to engage in PvP with great aplomb. However, having reached lvl44 with very little experience of PvP, I find myself being unsure of what my role is in war zones. I'm a infiltration specialist, with 31pts in Infiltration and two or three elsewhere. With each of the war zones, what should I be aiming for as far as my role in the fight? Can you help me, my shadowy brethren and sistren?
  11. So living in JB then? lol Sorry you're having trouble. There was a post from Stephen Reid earlier on in the thread (or one like it) that basically apologised for the delays for people not living in those countries currently eligible for transfer, and for extra patience while they sorted it out. Sorry lah. I don't know either. It might be some sort of legal thing, they might have got food poisoning from a hawker, who knows! I received my transfers today - didn't get a notification email that it had been done, just logged in and found all my characters missing from the server! Then I realised they were probably somewhere else - and I was right! So, awesome. To those who only heard through the forum today, there was a great deal of commotion around Asia/Pacific launch around the server transfer process, and it was started then that the transfers timeline looked like late April. That's at least a month and a half warning. The other thing is that emails were sent out. There might be a couple of reasons that the email didn't get to you - one, that you opted out of marketing emails (which it was for some reason), or that the country listed in your details was set to the States, which some people experienced. In either case, CS seem to have been very helpful in resolving both issues, and have initiated server transfers for people affected. Maybe try them. Anyway, if you're moving to Master Dar'Nala, I'll hopefully XkXiXlXlX ah, see you soon!
  12. I think it would be advantageous to have all the GTNs faction-neutral. Then Imps and Pubs could sell gear from the Fleet, or from wherever GTN kiosks are found.
  13. It's not "openable". It's like a commendation or currency that you can use at the alt's class Legacy vendor on Coruscant or Dromund Kaas.
  14. I didn't buy them, myself. Are they Bind on Pickup? Or saleable?
  15. Hi there, I'm sure it's been raised before, but it would be very nice to have every GTN kiosk be a *galactic* one, a neutral one, that is available to all from all points on the star-map. Currently, I have very little way of selling the Inquisitor pants that I can make with Synthweaving; the same for the sniper rifle drops that come my way. Having a wholly neutral GTN would promote the economy of the server much more readily than single-faction one. Please make this a priority, especially in light of low server populations in some places, where it is harder to find certain goods (I'm looking at you, Vulkar Highway - where the heck is all the lower level armouring?!). Cheers!
  16. Fortunately, your life and health and well-being does not depend on these things. And I'm sure that there will be other events in which you get to participate and others do not. It's okay. Really.
  17. I was very impressed with a thread recently, offering credits for anyone who would move to one of the low population servers (can't remember which now). It's a great incentive, and player driven. And by all accounts it works. So for the mid-level pop servers, get a guild fund going to attract more players. The funds stay on the server and more people come to play. I believe that Aussies will be the first to get their server transfers, there will be subscription losses as the bugs are ironed out (no doubt someone will find something to gripe about), and then the greater population will receive the benefits of transfers. Much like when Australia got its first Caucasian inhabitants... sure it took a while to adjust, the natives were oppressed by the lvl50 toons coming in their ships, but in the end things settled down a bit more and now we keep our oppression to the later server transfers (mainly by boat). And you all get to see our swimmers blitz the Olympics!
  18. Dear Haemo and Retro, I'm sorry that you are having troubles. Have you tried contacting Customer Service (which is what Mr Reid recommended)? If not, I would suggest following that course of action. Coming to the forums is not going to get you an answer as quickly as talking to customer service. That said, Retro, it's not patience that you are exercising. It's impatience. You're walking away from something that has been on the cards for what, three days? If the form is the problem, give them longer than that to fix it. If the "I'm in the wrong country for a transfer" is the problem, then Mr Reid has given an answer - wait and see in the future what will be done (if you're in an Asian country, from what I've read it sounds like the latency is the same or worse to Australia as it is to the US - just keep playing!). If you are in one of those countries that was in the Asia/Pacific launch, and you haven't received an email, then contact customer support. Is it that hard to exercise patience?
  19. Another question: For those of us who will be mailed a Tauntaun pet on April 25, will this have the potential to be lost in the transfer process?
  20. I really enjoyed the event... still am, really. I'm hoping to run the last mission for the belt tonight. I have the advantage of wearing light armour. I will agree there are annoying little things in the way this was handled. However, and I think for me this is key, these are far outweighed by the good stuff this event brought. I'm only speaking for my server, but it has been very good. The main blessing this has been is that suddenly, on a server that was seemingly devoid of life during the times I was playing (Aussie on a US PvP server), there has been some 15 Republic people on Tatooine to run around with. At one point, whilst killing a World Boss, our ops group of 20 was attacked from behind by a group of about the same size - Imperials come to claim the boss for their own. (Actually, this or something similar happened three times to me!) I've never experienced that before. It was awesome. Pitched battles around the Sarlacc, cat and mouse around the wider Dune Sea as the fight devolved into skirmishes - I couldn't ask for more. I'm not an hard-core player, I have maybe 5 hours a week I can play, but I've made the time for the dailies (which only take an hour to run, depending on griefing and things like that. I've not done the Plague Bearer one for character reasons. With the extra DNA I'd been getting, I sold some and netted a goodly amount of money. I also was able to (finally) group with some 50s who helped me out getting the title, and was able to help out a little with the ops leader who needed another WB to finish his title bout. All in all, it's been a great experience. The things that soured it a little (and only a drop) were, in no particular order, the long distances (I'd not got my second speeder level yet), the frustration of having to do the last mission twice in order to get the complete set of armour (I was hoping that there would be both the last pieces with the last mission) and the brevity of the event. I'd not had to worry about exploding and the fall out from PvP-flagging (to the person who mentioned a lvl50 Bounty Hunter killing a bunch of infectees, think of it as containment!) but I understand the concerned. The other thing was that from a story perspective, the containment in place was really crap. Two containment officers attack when you get to your ship, with 4 or so others standing around watching. If this plague was as bad as all that, then they all should have jumped in. Infected players wandering the fleet should have been continually harassed by containment officers, with no XP or loot drops from the officers either. But... those are minor issues compared to seeing groups of players from all over the galaxy come together and play. I loved it. Bring on the next one!
  21. Just like to say that I'm loving the event. Sorry that some people are having a tough time with it, but I think it's a blast! I've encountered more cross-faction interaction today than ever before, been banked several times, had Sith help me kill rakghouls and complete quests, and helped out them too. It's been awesome. Well done, guys.
  22. Actually the confirmation is at the top of the page. Once the button is greyed out, scroll to the top and it says 'Transfer request submitted' or something of that ilk,
  23. The originating server which you want to transfer a character from Vulkar Highway The name of a character on that server Qlau, Speri, Sova, Jadio Your specific issues with the form - buttons not available, dropdowns not working, etc Nothing is clickable. "Original Server", "Character Name" and "Destination Server" are all greyed out, but seem to have links in them, and Request Transfers is also greyed out, presumably because nothing is chosen in the drop-down menus. It's the same for me from Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Safari, all the latest versions.
