  1. People in their 20's need to come to the realization that their opinions don't matter, because they know nothing of the real world, at all. Always such passionate replies from the Arby's shift manager..... Do you have any idea how many people on the top 10 lists are over 30. We are the ones that have been gaming our whole life..... Y'all sooooo ignorant of how the world works...
  2. 3 years ago, this thread would have been closed in 20 minutes because they don't allow petition threads. The fact it hasn't shows how little they check the forums, which further shows how little your feedback means.
  3. I wonder if the 2 dev's that work on this game spent Cartel Coins on body extras for the livestream so it looks like a game design studio, and not a 4th floor walkup with an iBuyPower PC and a Razer Naga...
  4. Maybe they just sell 8v8 titles for Cartel Coins and call it a day
  5. Smoke screen needs to become passive with Rocket out, or moved to Skillful tree. Add Heroic talent to increase range and make usable while stunned, rooted or airborne. right now, merc's have to take every defensive talent available, just to last 5 seconds longer with two people healing them. Sacrifice some burst damage if you must in order to facilitate survivability and skillful play.
  6. I hear 4 people develop this game now.
  7. Put the pipe down kid, how oblivious can you be to the world around you. No company ever confirms they are under attack, not Sony, Microsoft, Twitter, FB, anything. Just like you won't confirm or deny that you are, in fact, 14, and have no idea how anything works except the Wi-Fi Genie that lives in your router.
  8. I like how everyone on the first page besides the OP has no idea how anything works on the magical interweb land
  9. This is why most nice things were removed from MMO's 10 years ago actually
  10. Pushback resistance is irrelevant. Too many classes with all their damage in insta-casts/melee, and NO reward for getting good casts off or outplaying people.
  11. No, its not called that. I can be just as big as an elitist jerk as you come off with these statements, but for the sake of this game that I enjoy, the best thing is more information FROM Bioware on how bolster works. Otherwise, new players to the pvp scene may leave and choose not to participate, before they get to the point of starting a Google quest to improve themselves. Their opinions mean jack **** unfortunately, as I 'm fairly sure any post containing those keywords, is simply passed over by anybody important enough to make a change to this game. Buying a mod that is better, but apparently "too good" for bolster purposes isn't some noob mistake. My buddy is ranked in top 10 right now, and he 1) didn't know about stacking sabers until already max level 2) bought higher end mods with credits to help with bolster while he got gear originally While the info on it is easily obtainable, more info should be presented by Bioware initially, as the entire point is retaining players
  12. One of the things the pvp community LOVED about this game, was the developer's philosophy for PvP in BETA. They intended pvp gear to account for about 11% difference at maximum, so that pvp was more skill based on an even playing field. I don't know how many of you were around for that way back when before even the beta weekends started, but it was HIGHLY accepted. I quit back in 1.2, and recently came back. Back then, the gear system was all screwed up, War Hero was so far ahead of other worthless crap, the gear gap was huge. Now it's what? The equivelent of a Stim in mainstat/endurance? They are accomplishing, with the bolster system, what they originally designed for, and intended....a small gap for the hardcore to have a small advantage that isn't game breaking, and a level playing field. I see two problems here, one the developers should really address, and one that they can't 1) The way bolster works is complicated for a new player to understand. Those "in the know" that have experimented/googled/tested, can take full advantage of bolster at 55. New players might not, buying wrong mods, wrong pieces..whatever. They will be at the disadvantage. BioWare should develop in the VERY LEAST, some in game tooltips designed to help the newbs with bolster. There are probably many new players that could outplay some vets on an even playing field, and they should be given that. I've been in this game since like April 2011, and I had no idea I could wear level 5 greens into a warzone and have full expertise with almost 3k mainstat.!!! 2) I have a feeling most of you, especially those that post passionately, come from games like Warcraft, which is about as "Carrot on a Stick" as you can get. Grinding tier after tier over and over. Those are the ones that think bolster is stupid, and "noobs" should grind the gear out blah..blah.......blah PvE is where time should equal power. Not PvP. Not if you want to claim it's based on skill, regardless of where you personally think that skill cap should be. A small advantage for your dedication to the game is more than enough with Oberon, Personally I think it's LEAGUES better than pre-expansion. In conclusion, if I had to suggest anything, it would be to have 1st tier be a small step above bolster, and 2nd tier a small step above that, not peaking above the 11% intent, because the way it is, as far as I can see unless mainstat, there's not reason to buy conq other than to get to oberon. Gear shouldn't be a deciding factor in PvP, but on the otherhand, Conqueror's gear should be better than level 5 green gear.
  13. Considering just saying "rateds" makes me feel like I have downs, I'm gonna go with no
  14. My feelings towards why Merc's are so slouch in 4v4 is; in that environment, insta-cast wins hands down. Both Merc dps specs have to much tied into casting Tracer, channeling Unload/casting power shot. All the benefits from these casts, whether its heat sig, snares, or proccing rail shot, still come from hard casts. Basically, if you could put out even short term pressure while focused, it would help tremendously. As it sits now, the only viable way to play a merc in ranked 4v4 is to pop cd's and run and hope your teammate's can kill an overextending enemy or land a kill before your cd's are up. I like the idea of a mez that pops on damage like sorc, but that may be too op if added to everything we have. CD's are too long for how much and how soon they are always needed. Arsenal can't do **** for damage if kiting Need something that will make attackers pay for getting close, but not something that brings the class too far away from the "ranged turret" archetype. I like the idea of a proc, or addition to HO that allows Unload to channel while moving, or periodic interrupt immunity after gather stacks like Darkness Assassin. Basically, I shouldn't need the stars to align to eventually position myself where I can setup 4 globals of burst damage,
  15. 6 pages and I can't figure out a way to reply to you how I want without an infraction/ban. Entitlement issues and probably borderline NPD. You can't just go DUR DUR DUR FACT DUR DUR ME DUR DUR MOM SAID SPECIAL. Any valid point you made has become garbage, and you're just a screaming twenty-something now.
  16. Anyone that's spent a significant time in mmo's is aware of class imbalances. While its really "neat" that a lot of you are proud of the undergrad logic and argumentation class you got a B+ in, its frightfully obvious where the imbalances are in an arena environment. All the data sets, numbers, and screenshots in the world are easily trumped by a dev saying "Our metrics tell us otherwise" Sure there are a few that excel on a sorc or a merc, but the point is, they would do much much better as another class. I know a Merc healer and a Sorc that rerolled Op and PT respectively, and have went up almost 500 rating. Some of you just come onto the forums to argue, champion the couterpoint or point as you see fit, but anyone that plays this came outside the realm of casual, even in the slightest, has been WELL aware of the class imbalance months before you could see it on a leaderboard. Granted, teams have been stacking PT's and Mara's since ranked 8v8 launched.
  17. Your 1 situation means nothing really. We blame Bioware because it is their fault. There was a TON of feedback from May 2011 Beta and onwards about how the questing path's on all the contested planets never crossed...and that you had to go waaaaaaaaaaay out of your way in order to find a member of the opposite faction. There was also lots of feedback on the original implementation of Ilum. Mercenary comms were removed Ilum was ruined twice over. They added sanctuary zones all over the place that killed the last remnants of anything fun. (Nar Shadaa Promenade was great) It's Bioware's fault there is no OWPvP, not the players because "This one time at the Gree Event......."
  18. Your disclaimers mean nothing, your trying to discuss if mara/pt is OP or not based upon screenshots of the scoreboard at the end of a match. Our Mara averages 400k, our sorc averages 600k. By your logic, sorcs are OP, regardless of situation. The Mara is key to us wiping a node for capture more than the sorc. I read your post. I was in very early Beta, your "data" will not help BW, it will just confuse people that don't know better even more. There is a reason teams are stacking these classes, caring about the scoreboard was great for unrated for a while, it means much less now.
  19. I think it's cute you did all this work, and you think the scoreboard damage at the end of the match determine class balance. To think a Mara is doing nothing but sticking on a target the whole match makes me curious about your teams skill level. Our maras are mobile a lot , granting Perdition, jumping to interrupt, intercepting hut balls, guarding nodes in place of a tankasin, as well as being on the list of players to send off to reinforce a defense (ie: not damaging while moving between nodes) Your data is flawed im afraid.
  20. It took me almost a month at 50 to finally "give up" and play Darkness...I was very stubborn, as I loved Deception playstyle. I felt pushed into Darkness because Decpetion was pure garbage after 1.2 (yes was OP pre 1.2) Darkness w/o tanking gear is gone now, its not even remotely viable (god I hate using that word). It should still have been playable to a certain extent. I'm sure the top 2% of Darkness Assassin's will play it very well, I don't think I'm in that 2% either.... Darkness fixes were needed, and I'm glad they came....but uh....now both are broken for PvP. Deception needs to be glass cannon style play, but its too glass cannon. I don't feel like I'm enough of a threat when I pop out, and I can't reset enough to compensate for my severe lack of defense. I think changes are needed in the buildup of charges, as the time it takes out of stealth to build up the burst that defines the tree, is too much times being susceptible to all sorts of damage with little defense and long cooldowns. As a full premade with a dedicated guard and pocket healer, it is still a mediocre tree As solo play/que it just seems worthless to me. I'm not whinging, just inviting discussion. Deception assassins will be the first burn down target all the time, because it will be very easy to burn them down, especially in rated play with coordination. Again, I understand the glass-cannon principle, but only being survivable every 3 minutes is and won't cut it in PvP. The changes were needed, the class was very OP, with great burst, decent AOE, amazing utility and great survivability, but after these changes, it seems the average to decent Assassin is going to be VERY confused on what spec to play now, as they all seem equally less than average...
  21. Not necessarily complaining, but you can't help but LOL at this. It is comforting to know that Bioware Dev's don't work in nuclear power plants though... 22. He made perfect sense. On a ranked ladder, you commit, or you get burnt. Don't que with people that can't commit. Not doing this sets up all kinds of issues with whatever integrity the ranking system has. What he was saying (which made perfect sense) is that, without the hit to rating for leaving a que, you could just have one person join, see that its <That one guild that will beat us> and dodge them. The kind of people that want to pvp on a ranked ladder, are competitive and hardcore.
  23. what server are you on? I want to crit you for 7k all day
  24. They will probably end up forcefully merging some that are left with very very small amounts of people on them after all this smoke clears.
