  1. Just a couple things I wanted to correct based on my own experience in game: I watched the Summit on livestream. I think Bioware brought up many of the 'hot topics' I've seen people complain about. Specifically: Ilum is broke, they addressed that ("We need to go back to the drawing board"). Legacy is currently 'just a bar', they addressed that. There is faction imbalance, they gave hard data on that and said that it has been worse in other games and they aren't sure what to do about it here. They gave hard data on class popularity, the economy, leveling... lots of stuff. Are there still lots of issues to address? Yes. TBH, though, the issues you bring up are... not nearly significant enough for me unsub. They are for you, apparently, so I wish you luck and fun in whatever you decide to do with your time.
  2. Level 50 Smuggler Sawbones here. Story: Hell yes I enjoyed it. But even more than the story, I LOVE the conversation dialogue options available at almost EVERY quest. The snark, the endless /flirt'ing, the whining and demand for credits... I laughed more during Smuggler dialogue than any other character I've played yet. Jedi conversations are so bland in comparison. Also, more fade-to-black fun than any other character. Ladies love the smugglers. Mechanics: Are more complex than anything else I've tried so far (Jedi Sent, Trooper vanguard, sniper, bounty hunter merc), and when done correctly I can heal for days on end. Also, groin kick. Also, stealth and lots of cc options. Also, did I mention groin kick? Star Was fantasy: For me, the smuggler is about adding in some spice, some snark, something besides the stoic zen-like jedi nonsense or the sith pain evil kill-everything because just LOOK at all this corruption on my face! It's funny, fun, semi-criminal element that adds a ton to the whole universe. Still play: Yep! Took a break for a little while as my guildies caught up in level and I tried some alts. Now we're running hardmodes together and I'm healing everything in sight and really enjoying the experience. Encouragement: Nope, I play and love my smuggler. I look cool (Gunslinger sunglasses FTW), the class is complex and difficult to play well -- but rewards good play, and I'm pretty well unique (not just another Jedi) on my server. I have a blast.
  3. What I want from my GCD UI: See what triggered abilities are currently able to be cast (at next GCD or right now). Current cooldown of abilities cooling down. Status of my GCD. Currently, the GCD does not show me what abilities I could possibly cast at next cooldown. They only light up after the GCD cycles and seems to "blink" slighlty. Not effective. I want to be able to know what abilities I have lined up WHILE the GCD is cycling.
  4. Hi, I've repeatedly gotten the "Target is already guarded" bug, even when my guard is marked as off and I am able to guard (and un-guard) my companions. The other player I am trying to guard is a Scoundrel, we're at the same level, teamed, and questing together. I dont' know much more than that as I haven't figured out what triggers the bug (zoning? ship travel? leveling? no clue). Edit: Sorry forgot to mention I'm a Trooper Vanguard.
  5. I really like the Upper Hand stack increase, and I'd love a higher level Sawbones point talent to increase it further.
  6. I wanted to second this. Seeing dispelable (spelling) debuffs would be huge. As it is right now I can't see the debuffs in my raid frames, so it's quite difficult to see who has a DoT on them unless it's hitting their health. I'd love to see this worked on.
  7. I can't believe I never tried this before. Did it in PVP last night. I was being melted by an Inq, so I just stopped and hit surrender. Hands in the air, cash falling to the ground... I'm harmless, I'm harmless, I'm har--NUTSHOT. I died afterwards but it was so so worth it, left me crying with laughter.
  8. I'm really glad to see updates on issues that the community believes are important. I'm curious about the animation vs activation delay that seems to exist with abilities like Trooper Mortar. Is it possible to get an update or acknowledgement on that issue? I really want those kind of ability lags cleaned up, I think it'd make a big difference in gameplay and perceived gameplay. Thanks Bioware! Happy subscriber here having a ton of fun playing this game.
  9. I think a better question is: Am I enjoying the game and game universe whatever it may be? I don't care what IP it is, I care that it's fun. And it is.
  10. To the OP: As others said, you may have popped an AoE that hit the player and flagged you. I haven't tested, but I'm guessing that if your Companion hits and AoE and damages a flagged player, it will flag you as well. So turn off those companion AoEs! Something to check out, anyway as some companion powers (such as Bodwaar's wookie roar) turn themselves on even if you turn them off. I hope you report the player, they sound like they earned it.
  11. I do not understand this at all. Bug fixes and maintenance mean nothing if they are delayed? I think your post is a well-worded whine that patch delays are inconvenient for you and BioWare should listen to said whine because you think you are important (more important?) than the masses, and you don't like being inconvenienced. Clearly, BioWare disagrees.
  12. I would like a bubble type buff to throw on friendly players, or just a little bit more buffs to throw on friendlies.
  13. If we want dev attention on this, should we all throw up some dramatic posts and threaten to quit and/or set fire to ourselves if we don't get our way?
  14. I like to try and keep 1 Upper Hand up as much as I can for the 6% healing bonus and panic EMP useage, so popping EMP as soon as I cast Underworld isn't a great strategy for me. I use scan: 1) in PvP when I've used up my EMP and cooldowns, and I really really want to squeeze out enough energy to fire off bigger heal on someone. 2) When I try to take on something ugly like a higher level champion and I am burning through my energy faster than I can regen through Pug and CH cycles (this happens frequently when I have alot of dispeling to get really nasty DoTs off my tank). Sometimes I fill with Scan to get some energy back. It's not a great ability, but as my crit has gone up I think it's become more useful and not a complete waste of space. As always, YMMV.
  15. There's something magical about a Dirty Kick and then Headshot. How much ruder can you get?
  16. You ground legacy knowing it wasn't fully implemented? Then you make a post to complain about it not being fully implemented. Odd. I think you made this post as a way to brag about hitting Legacy 25.
  17. From the OP, it seems to equate killing/grinding with leveling. I've had good success doing minimal killing whiles stealthing objectives to either kill the boss or grab the clicky. I can zip through quests really fast. There are tons and tons of quests to do, and I have found leveling to be really easy and insanely fun. This is doubley so for my 31 point sawbones because I can solo through harder stuff that others might have to group up for (just got through the Voss Trial chambers -non heroic one- last night while killed off strongs and elites left and right). Anyway, I'm not sure if you're unhappy with doing the same combat sequence over and over (which will happen with any class) or that you don't think you're killing fast enough (to which I'd say, find a way to get xp that doesn't involve a pure reliance on killing speed).
  18. If I choose to intervene and heal someone, I do so because I want them to win and I don't want to stand there and watch them die when I know I could help. That's it. I don't do it so I'll get thanked. *shrug* If I then need help with killing something, I ask for it.
  19. Weird. I love Belsavis, it's my favorite so far. Big, lots of baddies, and cool quests.
  20. It means your quest log is full, 25 of 25. Abandon some quests or complete some. GL HF!
  21. /signed. Would like to have the option to see my shotty on my back.
  22. I'm 99% sawbones. I use Corso almost exclusively. We can stealth most caves skipping to the end boss or objective etc.. and even some Heroic +2s. Bosses are no problem, I heal him like I'm healing a flashpoint and DoT and backblast when I have excess energy. It's much slower than some people like, but I have a blast with it. Bodwaar is still squishy, even after updating his gear. Also, he is offensively weak, so the fights take alot longer. Risha is great for grinding on regular mobs. She's got good dps and is fairly tough. She is squishy in boss fights though.
  23. Thanks for posting this question. I'm level 42 Sawbones and struggling in PvP (of note: I am generally terrible at pvp anyway, so ... yeah...). I've found a few things that help: --Shield can be applied while stealth and does not break stealth. --Dodge is awesome --Show all friendly nameplates helps a little --Tranquilizer shot can be hilarious and effective, esp in Alderaan/Void --Using Focus Target on a higher level and being a pocket healer for them can be effective sometimes, if the Focus is a tank with a brain. I find that Huttball is a near total disaster for me, close quarters and constant interrupts really hurts. I got the ball last night RIGHT next to the line, and I was too squishy to move the 10 ft I needed to score. Void and Alderaan are better... there's more room, stealth is more effective and the battles can be managed a bit better than the furball that Huttball can become. Anyway, I'm glad to read about other peoples' experiences and advice. I think I have a great deal to learn!
