  1. It's going to cost money to server transfer. you may get one free one since this game is fairly new, but I guarantee from playing WoW, it will cost.
  2. LOL, hence something that I always wanted in World of Warcraft: Guild Halls or Guild Ships. I thought it be awesome to have an instanced area for guilds to showcase raid trophies (like end boss head or item), PVP banners and have a neat place to hang out with your guild that is not in a general or trade chat area. But you would still have to go outside of it to craft, auction, and other activities. But how much would it support population wise and would there be all sorts of bugs with it. I always thought it would be absolutely awesome, and I would say that it would be the ultimate fun collective group gold sink and guild achievement. This post just reminded me of how I thought MMOS should have worked for guilds 4 years ago.
  3. I think I would actually be more okay with this game. I know there are TONS of other issues that the majority of forums posters will point out, but one thing that bugs me in this game are the loading times. I understand that you are loading an entirely different area and it is alot to process, but one thing that made WoW and probably other MMOS great was the severe lack of loading.
  4. I would be against cross realm PVP and PVE content because, man, I should have stayed with WOW. But at this point when I really don't want to quest and I like to see multiplayer content, can you blame them for thinking of this? I just did a voidstar match that it was 6 vs 6. However, it was Republic vs Republic, a warzone that I thought was primarily designed for faction vs faction, not same faction vs same faction. I appreciate the effort to allow a no matter what, you will fight something system, but a cross realm for PVP would keep people busy with faster queues. For PVE, I would like just a SEVER based LFG tool, but I doubt that will work since these servers need to be merge for population's sake.
  5. This is an entirely different matter. A game subscription is primarily used for entertainment value. Electricity is something everybody needs 24/7 as somebody stated. I hate to say this, but your comparison was really stupid. I would have said getting a Game Informer subscription for that membership card at Gamestop that you never use because Gamestop is no where local to you, or something. Or in my case, a netflix and hulu+ subscription that I barely use but I'm still subscribed to. I would have used that instead of a necessity of electricity.
  6. I hate to say no, but I will for reasons already posted. I will support a SERVER based LFG tool. Servers maybe really low on population, but that would work the best for people against a cross realm one.
  7. If you think that is the best way to spend $1499/month then by all means you are entitled to that opinion. I actually was thinking the same, but then I stopped myself. I think I'm about to cancel once again till Bioware gets it through their heads that a massive servers merge needs to take place. A standard population server is just sad these days. I'm on Shadowtown(PVP) and I really want to continue playing there because of my character's name, but at this point, I'm afraid to start any new characters due to there not enough people playing nowadays. But at this point, I wouldn't mind having to rename my characters. Just as long as the game becomes more fun and the most important thing; a healthy population on major servers. I really do like this game, but loading times and the population issue are just holding it back for me.
  8. question of the month and this thread has been going on for how long? damn I'm fueling it I guess. simple: leave if you don't like it. Stay if you do.\ There, was that hard to decide?
  9. Oh op live a little. oh no! 2k credits!? do space combat, pvp, or farm something. Seriously it's just an event. Remember the zombie plague before WOTLK launched anybody? It was fun and got annoying sometimes, but just leave if you don't want to be part of it.
  10. Warhammer was in serious decline at that time. The difference with that game and SWTOR is that it's fun on both fronts: PVE and PVP. Create a new name then. I like a fresh starts on new servers.
  11. My issue is, if you think the game is in decline and you obviously hate it, why are you still here? I'm not talking about the original poster, I mean anybody who goes to the forum and complains about this decline. Just unsubscribe and play something else. Then EA/Bioware will wonder why subs are dropping when they see nobody playing and at least posting. Silence is scarier than words sometimes.
  12. can you blame people for wanting to play where most of the SWTOR population is located? I'm tempted to transfer my SW to Swiftsure since it's a heavy PVP server, but we can't do that yet. Server merges need to happen now.
  13. As a 6 year WoW vet, I understand your comment completely.
  14. From what a friend told me, the Legacy system reminded him of Torchlight's retirement for characters, except you can continue it and it does affect other ones you create. I have to admit, the Sur name and the ability to transfer the alien choices (even though there is no real significance between them all) along with random abilities is kinda neat. We all know this is a ploy by Bioware to keep people playing this game with making alts, or to come back. I hate to say "at least they are trying." But it's one of many features they stated are planned for this game in the future. Like I keep saying, we'll just see how it goes.
  15. My personal opinion is that if this game did for F2P it would increase numbers definitely because this would be the best one. It's Star Wars, the fan base is huge and more popular than anything LOTRO, Age of Conan, or DCUO would release. People would at least play the 1-50 quests for all 8 classes. They are really good and supply lots of game play hours regardless if you do anything multiplayer. And still, I don't know how to express this enough, but this game is based on the Star Wars Universe. If SWTOR decided to do what GW2 promises, then I would still pick SWTOR simply because I'm more interested in this universe. Like how I chose WoW over EQ2. I played WC II & III so that universe caught my taste more.
  16. Maybe the developers are saving for the better looking stuff for future content? Anybody remember Paladin Tear .5 and 1? Or Mage Teir 1? We were excited to get them back then but they did look dumb. Then we started getting the goods. Except AQ40 gear. yuck. So maybe they are getting rid of the uglies first.
  17. Kudos to Bioware for taking time to make another great April Fools feature! It's great despite the negativity with ME3's endings and the obligatory forum hate on SWTOR, I /salute your efforts to make us laugh. To know you guys also share a sense of humor warms my circuits. http://www.swtor.com/news/news-article/20120401 Loved the Family Guy reference!

  19. Loading it right now, but I can tell, of all of the reviews (critics and general forum posts) this is going to be the only honest opinion about this game. I freaking love Yahtzee's reviews. He hated Demons's Souls, I did too.
  20. because, op, there should be freedoms allowed even if it's a mmo that has solo or multiplayer content. People are paying a price monthly, and the game developer is trying to appease to that. Also Bioware did state that from the begining, THIS IS A STORY BASED MMO.
  21. Yes on the plenty to do and no on the LFG tool UNLESS it was server based.
  22. I need to focus on college and I haven't had the time to play in awhile. I really like the game and I want to continue getting to 50 with my two characters. anyway, good luck to you all and may the force be with you!
  23. ..........why would you call this a concern? WORRY ABOUT SPACESHIPS MORE FOR OBVIOUS REASONS
  24. Because even the 4th play through of Dragon Age, Mass Effect, or any video game with heavy cut scene stories, gamers usually would space bar what they've already seen. With this game, expect it because people are playing Alts and really don't want to see stuff they've done more than twice or once. Dromund Kaas and Coruscant, I space bar like crazy because I've done them so many time like Taris on KOTOR1. Just explain to your party you haven't seen the cut scene yet.
