  1. Yes, because the corporate idiots will blame the title/theme of the game and not the game that was puked all over us with gambling boxes being the focus of their cash flow instead of real good fun gameplay... They will just make another MMO, give it a new name and shove gambling boxes in your face again.
  2. I'm finished making excuses for why this game is dying. I just hope the Devs wake up before it's too late.
  3. Didn't have much to say about your fail gambling boxes, eh? I don't blame you...
  4. what was the most silly thing you ever did in swtor? I bought a Gambling Box. Never made that mistake again.

I have had this conversation before. My answer to this question is the same as it was on another great game that was shut down. The proof is in the population. Story players are dropping like flies as well. I play story and PvP and Space PvP...I love this game and would hate to see it go, but I can't continue to bury my head in the sand and pretend that I do not notice the steady decline in players...and servers. I for one hate to see players go. You know it has gotten bad when players don't even bother to rant anymore when they quit. This guy just said a quick and short sentence and then gone. You know a player has lost all hope when they don't even have enough hope left in them to rant a bit before they go.

You say as the population of SWTOR steadily declines...

There's always SWGEmu Bloodfin. That's where I have been going lately, waiting for this game to get its act together. It's not SWTOR, but it sure as hell brings back good memories.
  8. First, Bioware...I am very disappointed in whoever makes the decisions on what to place in these Gambling Boxes of yours. First, after the heat you took for the last Gambling Packs you came out with over these extremely lame chance cubes...so much of a fail that not once did your Gambling Box make most popular list, you decided to do it again? I am seriously questioning your motives here. Do you want your game to die? It really looks like it. Then here we go with more extra large Lightsabers that look more like the over sized toys we used to get as kids, rather than real life sized Lightsabers. I'm having a hard time with this as well. Every time you guys do something like this, it really makes me glad that -Heat has created Bloodfin with a fully playable SWG pre CU. More and more players are coming to that game FROM this game because of things like this. You guys really need to shape up, otherwise Bloodfin server is going to end up with almost all of your hardcore Star Wars fans. Your game is dying, Bioware. Even on some of the most populated (Which aren't many.) servers, the population has been significantly decreased. You guys need to focus more on the game rather than your wallets. Make a good game and the wallets will take care of themselves. Very sad what MMO's have become over the past few years...and you have nobody to blame but yourselves. The communities have not changed, what has changed is the level of greed companies like yours have devolved to. The community is aching for a great game, they are practically begging for it. You have the perfect game to bring players what they want, but you won't do it because you are too busy ripping people off with Gambling Boxes. If you put half the amount of effort in to your game as you do on trying to figure out a way to rip your customers off, you would have a fantastic game. Instead we have revived games like SWGEmu that are older than ten years old, taking all of your customers away from you. What's funny, is they are taking your customers without Gambling Boxes...imagine that. Get it together, Bioware. Please. I love this game, I really do...I don't want to see this game go under like so many have before it. Don't listen to your players who are feeding your egos, the ones who say the population is fine, the ones who won't admit that your game is declining in players and quickly becoming a ghost town. If you do, you might as well shoot yourselves in the foot. Pay attention to what is happening to your game and do something about it. Otherwise this game will become the next Matrix Online, City of Heroes, SWG, Tabula Rasa...let's not ad SWTOR to that list of great but forgotten games.
  9. Yeah, like chance cubes. There will ALWAYS be more pressing issues at this rate...
  10. Leaping looks great, but have you ever actually watched your character when the jump in place or try to jump on a ledge? It looks completely silly. If I seen a person jump that way I would think they were handicapped or something. Just sayin.
  11. Is that what we are going with?
  12. I never had any issues at all seeing my old school lightsaber. So I can't say I follow your reasoning.
  13. I couldn't help but to "LOL", hahaha.
  14. Lightsabers and Double Bladed Lightsabers are so HUGE with all these new ones you guys are making. They look so big they look like toys rather than weapons. Are you guys making them so large like this on purpose or is there something going wrong with the coding? It's a shame too, because they have really nice designs, they are just extremely big...it looks funny and makes me giggle when I see a player holding their gigantic lightsaber like that.
  15. Not true. Collectibles are something you keep and then can sell for real life money. Some people keep their collectibles until the day they die. Toy Machines you also keep and is partly based on your skill to grab the toy with the claw. Nothing you gamble your money away with here is anything you can keep. When this game shuts down, everything you spent your money on will be gone...forever.
  16. Yes, it shouldn't even have to be that way, but at least if it were that way I would personally feel it to be a respectable way to go about it.
  17. Not exactly. By having a sub I am paying cash to play a game. Not even 6 years ago, my 15 a month used to get me EVERYTHING this game is giving me...for 15 a month. Now if I want all those shiny outfits and blasters and color dyes and whatever else...I not only have to pay 15 a month, but I also have to pay on top of that, 20, 30, even 50 per week, month...whatever. And they are just in game items to make my character look cooler. City of Heroes...I got to customize my clothing, customize my powers, play almost all expansions AND play the game....15 bucks a month. No sir, not this game. This game it all comes with an extra cost. And to be clear, it is not just this game...it was a tactic that Developers of almost ALL MMO's pulled....they decided to start charging you more money for the same things you used to get free...and people LOVED IT!!! A small number of us seen what was happening...we were here LONG before this lockbox invasion. Some of us has been in MMO's since 1999 with Asheron's Call or any other MMO that had been going strong in those years. Some of us...remember a time when an MMO was about having fun, not about sucking your wallet with a vacuum cleaner. Some of us pitched a stink about it when this lockbox invasion first took place...and we were told to shut up by the people who blindly leaped right in to the giant pile of poop. So now here we are...it has come down to chance cubes and now those same people who told us to "shut up" are now on the fence. Only now does it seem people understand why some of us old school gamers, who helped get MMO's where they are today...hated lockboxes with such passion. Like us or not, but if it were not for us old school gamers paving the way for the games you enjoy today, you would not be here having this conversation with me now. It was never hard to see where MMO's have gone wrong. Lockboxes are what is destroying MMO's as far as I am concerned...and it will not stop until people take a stand against them. What I fear though is that once people do take a stand, these corporate owners will do what they always do...blame everyone but themselves for the failure of MMOs...and then they will just deem MMOs unprofitable and never make them again. When in all actual reality, the reason it didn't make a profit was because of their own greed.
  18. You don't think those prices are astronomical already? You are paying real life cash for items that will vanish the day this game shuts down. For pixels. They are already insane prices for something non-tangible.
  19. Not yet...like so many other laws, that law introduced a doorway to new laws. So it may not be affecting us yet, but give it time...I'm sure time is all that is required.
  20. Looks like the days of the reign of the Lockboxes are soon coming to an end. I sure hope America and Europe follows their lead.
  21. See as how I am not a gambler and see as how I would not buy a mystery box at walmart, with a chance of getting the item I went there to buy, and end up having to buy...what did you say, 300+ boxes?... to get that item... I don't and won't buy them anyway. If Bioware wants me to buy anything in their stupid boxes, they will have to post it for an outright price. Otherwise they can take their boxes and cram them.
  22. Somebody who has more money than they do common sense will actually buy 300+ of those just to get that Lightsaber...I would bet money on that.
  23. Never been a fan of these gambling boxes in the first place. It's no different than going to the store to buy a very specific item, however, everything you want is inside some stupid box that has a very rare chance of having that item you want in it. Then you buy 30 of those boxes for a ridiculous price just to find out you STILL didn't get what you went to the store to buy in the first place. People's response to that is, "You can sell the stuff on the GTN and then buy what you want when you see it on the GTN." Oh, so you mean I can take all that crap back to the store and stand in an extremely long line at the return desk, then go to another store to buy what I wanted in the first place? Brilliant!
  24. Never mind. I had removed files that were causing the update to stall on the patch and cause a 301 error. All I had to do was replace the files I removed and now the game is installing fine. Not sure if anyone else did the same, but if you did, try what I did and that should fix the issue.
