  1. Many bugs and thing have become worse than they used to be, is my 2 weeks past impression of this game update, Idk if it can be called an expansion. - Warzone jump transport pads are broken the animation where you're lifted in the air and land at your destination is broken on all warzone maps that have one of those jump transport pads, or whatever you call them - You now need 7 points to win a match 6 points were fine. Why prolong the grind needlessly? - Gear costs 1mil credits + 3000 tokens, a piece What the hell? - characters in the group seemingly levitating around animations are broken - The good class specific set bonuses are gone replaced by generic, boring set bonuses, probably so you can trade them with your alts, still the grind is absolutely awful. it's worse than pre "expansion". 999 levels of command exp, now called renown. Idk what you were thinking there, I can imagine "greedy EA corp says: keep them playing and paying, minumum effort maximum revenue" - warzones are a lot more laggy than before it's noticable and not a fun game - UI sometimes, qute often actually, disappears and with it listening for keyboard events you can't even ctrl+UU anymore to bring it back - expansions and order of completion unknown As someone who has returned I don't live in this game, I play occasionally every few months for a month or 2, I have no idea what the order of expansions is when clicking on the mission story thingy on the ship's computer. Some ordering would be ... in order, or labelling, or a small list. - fallen empire & knights of the ethernal thorne are in their shift-e containers while the rest isn't it seems like left hand doesn't know what right hand is doing if you're one of the 2 working on this game, does that look like a fun game to you? Because it doesn't to me. I get it, you want this to last for the next 5 years or so. And now people are flooding this because of winter and ep9. If this wasn't star wars it would've been dead by now. But I mean those things that are obvious, the bugs, do you intend to fix them? At least he most obvious ones? The animations, why do we have to pay money when we already have to grind tokens? Tone it down a bit, the grind.
  2. Stop being annoying with the stupid otp every damn *********** time one wants to log in
Meine Fresse. Gewöhnt euch mal an zumindest mal das nötigste an Infos reinzupacken. Suchen 3 DD 1 Heiler für Ort Wir sind 3 DD 1 Heiler für Ort Unglaubich echt
  4. ^ titel Im Story mode Nathema droppen bei mir nur Tank Schemata. Im Veteran Mode droppte nichts. Und der Story Mode dauert ewig. Muss ich den Support bemühen? Wurde der Deutschsprachige Support gefeuert?
  5. Last time I played was when those command crates were introduced and I really ground out some 270 commander levels. I originally returned because I was playing KOTOR2 with the restored content pack and since this game is the only MMORPG that's left of the Star Wars MMORPGS, well I downloaded and played. As a non-subscriber you're essentially treated like dirt and stupid me I thought, come on buy a 60 day card because... the mind says "don't do it, why would you pay to grind, why would you pay to increase some artificial numbers in some computer system somehwhere? Don't be a sucker. Don't give them money." And the devil on my shoulders said "Do it, they have new content, after 1.5 years they've surely added quite a lot". Well. No they haven't. Instead of what was a busy server cluster it got reduced to EU German, EU English, EU French, US. BOOM. Content? 3 Flashpoints. Probably more, the one or other Operation or semi-operation ... idk. I haven't checked because it has been 2 days and PvP was enjoyable, well semi enjoyable and raiders are going to be raiders... I was a "pro raider" once. Back then we raided for fun. This generation of raiders are... not something I'd like getting into again. What's interesting, I got put into winning teams for the first.. 10? rounds of PvP. And then all I did was lose aka put on the losing team. 18 lose streak. Then I got put on the winning team for 2 matches again. I had GS242 is when I left and 1M credits. Now it's GS243 and 800k credits. So I think to myself, what's there to do? I thought they at least added some new warzones. Oh yeah I saw 1 new warzone, a best of 3 warzone. Where is the promised new stronghold where you can host PvP matches or whatever? The site says something that isn't true at all. Where is the new content? 1.5 years for 3 Flashpoints and short, uninteresting stories? Man I've played Everquest2. Now this is a game on "still twitching but not quite dead, rehashed content, grind instead of story" mode. But even them manage to bring out an expansion each year. And I wonder how people put up with that. I still have 9 months of free game time and I'm not touching it. And SWTOR? There has been, not even 1 month worth of progress in 1 1/2 years by 3? people? 3 people were working on a game that had 500k subscribers at the time when it was turned into something that should've been banned. Loot crate roulette. And it shows. It can only go downwards from here. Image that for another 1 1/2 years. What will be new? 3 more Flashpoints? It is quality work I have to say that much. The recent zone looks amazing, I want to go there and dig for treasure, my sense of adventure is sparkled. The train, not so much. Pretty boring, generic zone. I don't remember the Chiss zone oh yeah the Rishi clone. Yeah ok, not too bad. Anyhow screw game politics. Why I'm about to quit again... I'm not in a guild I have one main, or let's call it, one that has command tier 3, lvl287 now. Playing the recent FP I found augment schematics, lvl240 , tank ones ( I didn't find them in the other 2 zones ). So I decide to solo that Nathanema or w/e it's called zone again in story mode in hopes for more schematic drops. Sure enough, another 2 tank augment schematics. I guess they really want people to play tanks. But my tank has GS224 or some low score and I'm not in the mood because when you're tanking you depend on a healer. And that means no "random group activities" because you take the beating, you die, you have to repair but the others don't. So screw grouping with randoms as a tank. Right, so I check for more info about those 240 augments. Where do the offensive ones drop? Apparently... in Master Mode Flashpoints, but no not just any Master Mode Flashpoints, only in the Nath FP. At least that's what I picked up from the 5.9 announcement post and that russian guy's site, who is btw really bad a video editing and content creation. How about a table where you compare the 236 and 240 side by side? But hey he seems to have some secret connection to EA so w/e works right? So it turns out in order to be able to craft even one of those augments, let alone find them I need mats worth about 6-7 mil credits. Are you serious? Are you *********** crazy? Are you insane? You know, I'm semi on vacation right now. My power cells are full. I work a little (programming, websites, server side services) lay in the sun for a while, go swimming, life is good. I start KOTOR2 and yeah I'm not thinking it's a waste of time to play it again, especially with the restored content mod and I forgot most of the story anyway. Only Dantooine rings a bell. And I run SWTOR. I feel some weight being put on me. Like a problem I have to solve. Work I need to do. It's not a game, it's work. I got that from EQ2 too a few years back. You log in and instead of having fun with people, you grind, you work. You work your *** off. And you feel tired after a few hours playing it. And you're paying to work. And I'm thinking. WHY? Why am I doing this to myself? For what reason am I enduring this again? Why did I even pay for 2 months of this crap? Because it's Star Wars? That's it? I'm playing Heroes & Generals time and again. It*s a WW2 semi persistent map, battle, war, grinder, fps, slow paced kind of game. I like that game, that's why I always keep coming back to it, and I could've bought a month's worth of gold to buy a subscription, they had 50% off just recently (and SWTOR doesn't have those kind of offers, ever, maybe they do for cartel coins but those don't but subscription time). And I didn't do it, because I feel it's a waste of money. They equally do very little and expect high returns. They have an average player base of 5k. Not much but good for a FPS. And I'm not supporting them because I think they don't deserve it because they're barely doing anything but adding new helmets or came or weapon skins and not actual content. But I like the game and I don't support them. And SWTOR? It always had issues. I always felt that this game wasn't worth supporting because it was a lazy rip off of WoW and the game design decisions were wrong all over the place. It's like they've never played a MMORPG before. SWTOR is not a MMORPG. It's a multiplayer game. And SWG had to die for it, but that's another story. So yeah to finish up. I don't seem myself grinding 6-7 mil credits a piece for augments. You can't be *********** serious. Grinding and running one and the same zone over and over and over again until I say **** you SWTOR and EA. Idk if EA has stockholders but if it does then I'm glad I don't own any EA stock because as an investor I'd be pissed by those business decisions. How can you let 3 people work (and assume they earn 30k / month combined) on a product that has 500k subscribers or at least it did when staff was reduced, 500k* even 10 is 5 million currency / month (€ or $). How is that a good business decision? How many are left now? 30k? less? And in what timeframe? So in 1.5 years the game went from 20 some servers, maybe more, to 5? WHAT? It's dead. There is no future for this game. But hey I've seen big changes for the cartel market. This one is most important since it bring in the monies. I know, there are people who will spend money on "virtual goods". They will buy a new stronghold and decorate it and they'll buy the interior with hard cash. And once they started it's like a drug. You justify your actions by buying even more. There are people who spend 1k USD and more on freaking crates in hopes of that one item that they're looking for to be unique and one of the few you own it. But they don't own it. All they do it pay for the right to temporarily access it. What's left for me? Grind CXP. Get that 248 gear. And then if I'm not completely brain dead, grind 6*amount-of-gear-pieces million credits to craft those 240 augments. IDK about you but I have better things to do than slavering my life away for virtual items that I don't even own. When EA decides that this game isn't profitable anymore it will get shut down like Age of Reckoning did. But their next project is, well not exactly around the corner but let's say public beta in 3 years, Camelot Unchained (I know it's not officially an EA game, but they've funded it largely). And in 3 years this game here will be dead. And we'll look back and remember the good times and forget about the bad. I know this will get locked and hidden, just like they always do.
  6. With Cryptic you can disable the OTP requirement, so they give you the option. And yeah it's not a security feature if I don't need it. All it is it's being annoying and unwanted. I'd even say that I should be able to store my password to not have to enter it every time. What is more secure? A cleartext .txt file with your password in it, or an encrypted password stored by the game patcher? I've not had the OTP request fire even once if I wasn't the one who logged in. In other words it has NEVER happened to me to my credentials were compromised, ever. Any game, any service. I'm also not using a virus scanner, because it's snake oil. If someone wants to trojan/backdoor your computer they will. No heuristics will save you. Same with this OTP requirement. If your computer is already compromised they also have access to your email credentials or at least are able to read your mail. And I'm not an avid smartphone user and this securitykey is also the same annoying thing as the OTP. You have to confirm that you're you every time. Annoying, unwanted.
  7. It's annoying that it asks for a OTP every time the IP changes. Why is it not possible to just disable this feature?
  8. My mouse is set at 800 DPI, 1000Hz polling rate and while moving over the screen 3840x2160 speed at which the cursor is moving is too low (I can increase it, no problem), however when pressing the right mouse button and rotating the camera left right up or down it does wild. It's like 50G, I can do like 8 rotations in 1 swing. The slider is set at 0%. Mouse acceleration is turned off.
  9. The fun is in EA counting credits ;P No but seriously... I log in becauseI paid for another 2 months a while ago and it's no fun. Imps always lose in BGs. And people are generally stupid. Recent example: 4vs4 best of 3 we get 1 tank 3 dps they get 2 heals 1 tank 1 dps teamy says "attack the dps". I... ok. yeah no.
  10. Warum <LevelUp>?
  11. It's an Everquest 2 screenshot. WoW is pretty much trimmed down now when it comes to number of abilities or skill trees or.. anything. Never really liked it and blame it for the downfall of the genre, or rather the greedy corps. If EQ2 wasn't on milking/maintenance ultragrind mode I honestly wouldn't be here. Hate what they've done to it. I loved having many abilities (and different, unique ones) that were not on a global cooldown timer and its distinct class design. Worst example of a bad global cooldown implementation is Rift. 111112311111 ESO with its 2x5 abilities where you pick which 5 you use also works for them but I find it a bit lacking, since you have all those... lists of different weapon abilities but effectively you have to remain "in class" for most efficiency.
  12. Ok, imagine you have 3 jobs but you can't spend all the money earned because in the other 2 jobs they pay you with made up currency that you can only spend at their place. It's bad example but when you play an alt and earn tokens you do spend the time and effort to gain them. But you're artificially forbidden to trade those tokens to your main/alt. And what's the benefit of having an all 242 char? What do you do with the tokens, that are now more likely to be earned quicker? Do you even PvP anymore, you don't need the tokens anymore.
  13. lol If you think SWTOR has a large number of abilities you should check this out: http://imgur.com/a/6BTpy
  14. Thanks. I remember the old pvp tokens were legacywide and I also, now that you mention it, remember the afkers.
  15. Stockholm syndrome. I've done DAOC raids too and I don't miss them at all. Only because it was more romantic to ride horses doesn't mean that cars aren't better. Apples oranges
  16. I meant components... FML This game and its terminology is just made to confuse people! Tokens components pieces - grindstuff Ok let's try that again. "Make Unassembled Components Legacywide"
  17. <insert long winded text here> yay or nay?
  18. What's the point of reaching CT2 or CT3 then? The only upgradeable pieces are CT1 230 rating pieces. What if you hit CT2 and have <6 set items? "Tough luck sucker"? You're effectively crippling yourself by hitting CT2 or 3. I don't believe it's by design. What purpose would this serve? To force people to do ops? When you're CT1 you need - a lucky roll to get a 230 set item - the set item + (arbitrary) 120-150 unassembled tokens when you're CT2 you need - base unassembled tokens for T1 (230) gear - another 120-150 unassembled tokens At the current rate that's 4-6 days of no-life PvP. Regarding your last paragraph, ops aren't hard. I've raided top5 "world wide" (best on server) in a much harder game years ago, idk what those 242 people should feel special of. On the server I play on there's a guild who think they're above everyone because they have 242 gear. They act like they're godsent and are the source of the one and only ultimate truth about playing SWTOR lol. All you need for a successful raid is someone who tells people what to expect, aka "a strategy" for beatin the encounter and people who focus on the screen. Often even that isn't needed if people work as a team and watch what's happening. Really we've raided without voice chat and often got so-called "world first" kills (aka the first guild to kill a named mob, "world wide"). SWTOR is immensely simplified. Even gear choice is simple. I doubt that it was to "make gold people feel special". I believe it's an oversight. I'm not sure what you mean. The frame is character bound. If you put the mods into a legacy tradeable frame you can give that frame to the opposite side e.g. mercenary <> commando You can give it to a sentinel but it wouldn't be of any use. I'm not sure if the sentinel could even equip the frame. So when you trade in the 230 frame + unassembled tokens you receive a 236 unassembled item you can trade to a 236 gear piece, which has a frame and mods. You can remove the mods and re-use an enhancment and modification in other gear slots but not the armoring. I'm not sure what you mean with 3 characters. The armorings are restricted to your class and the faction opposite class. Armorings without set bonuses are useless. If you craft 234 gear it has no mod slots.
  19. T1 crates give rating 230 purple mk-3 set gear T2 crates give rating 234 purple mk-13 set gear There is no upgrade path for MK-13 gear. You can trade in T1 gear for unassembled items, but you can't trade T2 gear for unassembled items. Trading in T1 gear awards 236 yellow gear. This is an oversight. 230 and 234 gear should upgrade to 236 gear, especially since the time invested in attaining T2 command is significant. Imho trading 234 gear should also award additional unassembled tokens. 12 or 20 pieces.
  20. The sad part is SWG was dumped for this, but then again NGE wasn't all that great either. Nowadays you can play it on emu but it's not the same, people are different, the world changed and became more hostile. Back in the day there weren't many MMOs and it was revolutionary in many aspects, when you sought training you could always count on finding a fellow player to train you. Nowadays, forget it. SWTOR isn't all that bad but it's not a community oriented game. ESO did the same mistake. Essentially you're supposed to absorb the lore to make you a fan of the IP. I don't like this profit oriented design. I'm old enough to have experienced games that were created because the developers wanted to play a game like it and there was none. Now MMOs are just meh. There are no real MMOs anymore. Everything is just prolong the subscription duration and sell marketplace items for profit. And that's why people are leaving. The profit oriented design was there before but not so apparent. Now it's the main focus of every MMO. And people who play those games either adapt and in turn become more isolated and unhappy or leave. I'm now on my last archetype to finish the class quests, commando. Because this game is too easy I don't enjoy it. The story is introduce your enemies, go through all of them step by step. No surprises there. It's a chore. Recently I played KOTOR2 again and I see why they made the game the way they did. They don't know any better. They're storytellers, not MMO designers. However one of the good things of SWTOR was its difficulty. It was just right. If you knew what you were doing and had the right timing you could beat that hard mob. Progress was slower, yes, but that created immersion. And when a game becomes too easy it gets reduced to numbers. Numbers in a database, dps, hps, boredom. Thing is, if you're having fun you don't mind paying for a sub, you're being entertained, it's worth it. And when you don't and just grind and grind with little to no rewards and see close to no progress you ask yourself what you're doing with your life playing this ... game. Aren't there better things to do? I played every western MMO from 1998 on. And the best ones were those that focused on the community. The PvP servers are no more, when PvP is optional and has no reward no one PvPs. Open World PvP doesn't exist any more. You can say what you want, the best PvP game was Meridian59. The was a reward for being innocent (not attacking other players) there was a reward for killing people (getting the loot they had on them), loot was easily attainable. Players could elect a judge who could pardon murderers. Outlaws could rid themselves of their outlaw status by dieing once. Raidable guild halls. Timing based PvP. Lots of grind but you could grind out a PvP ready character in 2 weeks or 4 if you took it slower. Casting spells costed resources which you had to farm by killing mobs, different mobs different resources. The only levels were you hit points and your skills which went from 1-99%. It didn't have groups or crafting, but the community aspect was major nonetheless. You could support different factions and the people you thought were friendly the next day turned hostile because they supported another faction. Oh and guild members could vote for a guild leader. If the current guild leader was bad someone else got the votes so there was intriegue at that level too. But even the best MMO becomes stale when there's no new content. And the next thing was SWG. All those professions and crafting, I never liked crafting because zzzzz, DAOC crafting was press 1 button and wait. Where the fun in that? SWG crafting was, craft your own tools, survey the planets, moving resource spots, build machines, build harvesters, get fuel, create schemas of successful crafts, mass produce, become a merchant. There was progression. Truely awesome. And scouts would harvest animals for meat, bone and tissue. And then bio engineer, experiment with DNA and build your own pets. Train them. And in the end the jedi grind. Hey I was totally cool with being a Teras Kasi Master and Weaponsmith. Created an alt on another server and just danced and played music. And a bounty hunter on another server to hunt Jedi. Ah well and then NGE and everything went downhill. WoW's financial success attracted too many moneybags. And the result was a decade of WoW clones and comicbook graphics. I'd wager if SWTOR, no matter how much they copied WoW had an actual world, not those tiered zones and not those communication stopping full screen dialogues it could've been something. Kotet ... I dread to do those walker chapters. I just don't like it. It wasn't even fun the 1st time I did it. What do I care about some girl's anger issues? And where do you go from there? Now you have your own empire and super fleet. You're unbeatable, killed the emperor, the most powerful being in the known galaxy. Isn't that awful. Anyhow time for bed.
  21. lol right is right and left is left when someone says east he means left (yes, no mistake) and west means right because when you open the map it's opposite of the spawn so since this is only used in defense the spawn area should be used, left, right not west east saying west or east is counter-productive and confuses more people than just left right. at least that's how I see it, because I never open the map in voidstar.
  22. It happened 2 times so far (didn't play today, much work) 1st time I don't remember which zone it was, 2nd time was in... The Ancient Hypergate Playing merc, at the enemy pylon, about 3 hitting on me and I got lucky that all my stuff was up, so I was essentially immortal and then all of a sudden, everything stopped. "Great, linkdead, no wait this happend before, today, let's wait and see" A few seconds later, dead, pylon captured, enemy elsewhere.
  23. It might be related to the current patchlevel. I'm on cable, 100/5 mbit/s. low latency, capable router. I never had this in this game before. Ever since today, now that I'm no longer bottom feeder all the time, I'm starting to get lag. I suspect cheating to be honest. Why cheating? Because it only happens in PvP. But it might be something that was introduced with this patch. The lag is like a disconnection but after about 5 seconds all the packets that were supposed to reach you all come at once and sync up with the rest of the game. I don't have wireshark or similar packet capture software related installed to have proof, but I might if this goes on. My question to fellow players is have you also noticed those weird lag spikes?
