  1. You are right, but more than upset i would call my mood disapointed or simply i am feeling sad about it. Anyway i think you are right with your points here, i wanted another game, but i found a good game, then after playing a month i found it repetitive, then i began to hope for changes with updates (in fact, in an MMO you can have hopes for some changes, even SWG had jump to lightspeed, but here the devs AND the players are constantly saying: DON'T TOUCH iT, it's OK!"). I feel like world of warcraft have hurted TOO much the way games are done. Dumbing role playing games so every casual gamer can do some finger gymnastics and call it an "immersive MMO". An as they have succeeded (from an estrictly economic point of view) it seems the way to do things. Doesn't matter love for designing different and original things, doesn't matter to be proud of the result. All that matters is economic outcome. All I can do is take other games that follow the "trend" of doing videogames that allows yo to use more your brains and less your fingers (as we are seeing in console videogames, in fact, just what PC videogames are suposed to be the kings of). Anyway, i can asure that my only interest in keep on being in this forum is just because i have seen too many people that think the same as me, and wanted to make this game a little better, perhaps my mistake has been confusing better with deeper. Anyway i'll politely read any answer you give and of course stop wasting time writing in the forums just to find people that simply try to argue that my suggestion is pointless just because...because... well, i don't know exactly what do you get by trying to demonstrate my hopes for the game are pointless. As i said, i am quiting (and i swear that it is a sad decision), and now, after seeing how actual players of the game think, with no hopes to return in future. With your constant complaints about my complaints you will get exactly what you like, a game filled with kids that will pay for whatever BW offers, without any kind of critical attitude, and that kind of players we all know that will leave soon for next videogame. With your effort, people like me, that has payed the game with a hope that it will include more options in future, will find that it is pointless to have hopes. As I said, i will read whatever but it is my last writing in the forum, i'll leave you in peace with your game and hope you have fun. See you
  2. The way I see it it is more or less what they did with the event of the rakhgouls. i think they will develope "new" stories but that of course all of them will be for every player, not for specific class. AND if you choose a common enemy (pirates or rakhgouls or crazy droids instead of Republic OR empire) you can have even just ONE new quest for everyone. In years, we will say: "remember the beginning? that class quest that was different to each class?
  3. Yes, I have payed two months, they have given me another TWO free, and this including the first month that was the beta i have played about 6 months. I think that an MMO is not a kind of game in which you can have conclusions in one month, and as i am a star wars fan I gave it some time to get to update 1.2 to see what kind of changes were going to be and if they would make the game more interesting. Now they say it's going to be a 1.3 update, but if it doesn't come before the end of this month, i'm not going to pay another month to see just minor changes. now I have realized the game is not what i wanted and my hopes of it being different in next months have not become real... By the way, what's your point about what i explain about people that complain? Immaturity? If you don't complain you demonstrate that you are really an experienced person, i didn't knew. To stay quiet is what the forum is for? Oh, now i understand, the forum is for happy people to demonstrate how wonderful is the game, a platform of happiness. Don't look the problems, they are not there, this gives me a true wisdom that no complainer can understand, how wrong are we to SAY what we think. Could you please explain a little or simply saying i am immature is enough?
  4. How many times you are going to make the same joke? Run out of ideas?
  5. I really relate a lot to a human called cyborg. Really interesting to have a human that has a tattooed cyberenhance in the front. I call it a tattoo because in fact you can see that it is a simple drawing when he speaks, it is not an object at all. The funniest way to add a race from nowhere ever seen. So when we choose the cyborg we got to feel like Lobot, a mindless half-robot that makes decissions when Lando pushes buttons. A kind of pet is the ONLY example i have found of real cyborg in star wars. And if you consider Darth vader a different species when he gets his armoured mask, then Vader too. If you even include Luke because he got a cybernetic hand, now there's three cyborgs. Yes, a great decision to include cyborg as species. Next one could be Baldinians (strange aliens that have no hair), clowngruta (strange aliens that are white and have red noses) or Uglylookas (aliens from the ugly galaxy, that need to wear sunglasses because they are so ugly that no one stares at them for more than five seconds)
  6. Don't worry, next month I won't be in the game, but as i already paid, got the right to say what i have found disapointing in the videogame. What i wonder is... what are YOU doing? Defending the videogame? i suposed there are devs for this, players that are happy don't have nothing to complain, so i don't understand. I got something to complain, so i come here, and explain it. I'd like to have aliens that were not just coloured humans. You still want aliens that are coloured humans, YOU GOT IT... what's the problem with me asking for MORE OPTIONS? if it wasn't for people that complain, you wouldn't have a LFG tool in next update, and if the devs have thought it is a good idea and develope it is because in fact, the complainers were RIGHT. The same can be said about having sprint since level 1. People like you, that constantly find excuses to say "everything is ok" please don't touch it are not good for improvement. And an MMO NEEDS constant improvement. I know they are not going to design EXACTLY what I want but if they want to do something new to the game and listen to complainers, perhaps finally they decide to include something that a ot of people talk about. if i say that i'd like my character to own pink pandas sure everyone would laugh and say i am trolling, but i think that what we suggest ( a lot of people suggest) things that would be nice.
  7. So whenever you want, this can't be compared to a role playing game (because it is a videogame) BUT In your own words: I argue that story is the most important thing in RPG's, wether its a video game or a tabletop Now it IS a rpg, you like the story part, so it is a role playing game, but don't like the interaction part, so then it is not a role playing game. That's why I complain, if you don't know how to make MMO's don't do them, keep on doing stories for other genres that need strong stories to have something ADDED to gameplay. I like stories in videogames, they add the needed depth, but every game has, BEFORE the story is added, a strong GAMEPLAY, that's why it is a game, not a movie. To add a great story to a Cod is a great idea, it adds depth, but in an MMO the DEPTH SHOULD BE THERE anyway. If ONLY the story gives depth, the rest of the gameplay and design is a failure (famous complaint that in swtor missions, no matter the story, the outcome is always kill X) So let's do the same, it is nice to do the same and not to have this options. Now is good not to do the same as others do. Your changing world suits your needs. Wasn't this the next evolution?? Now it IS different from others or the same as others today? don't understand. So in your own words, (just a couple lines before): You'll be hard pressed to find a game that isn't a sim or a sports-game that doesn't have story in it Of course games need stories because today there is enough techonology to offer an added thing to a GREAT gameplay, BUT NOBODY would say that i am buying a CoD game because the story is great (althought it IS), or the next Assassin's creed because the story is great (althought it IS TOO). Because having a great story is nice but doesn't allow the designers to be negligent in other aspects. You can say that story is the most important in titles like Heavy Rain, that YOU have clearly stated that ARE NOT MMO's When i see a racing videogame review I care about graphics and colisions and sense of speed, when the game is an adventure i care about story, such as UNCHARTED, (BUT GAMEPLAY is MOSTLY IMPORTANT TOO), when the game is an strategic wargame i care about diversity of units and historical accuracy, when the game is a shooter i care about gameplay, graphics, different weapons and online options and maps, and when the game is an MMO i care about differents classes, world development and customization. In all af them i want good stories, if it is possible, but other aspects are DEFINITIVE. I agree, the only think i writed in capitals was that i wanted it to be MY character, and to make it MINE i need to choose it and customize it. But devs think that the most important way of making it MINE is that he's not a wookie. Yes, definitely everyone knows that if you want a player to like a character, you have to prevent the player from having more options. Can't you see? whenever something is bad you say it is equally bad in other games (do I have to care? it's an excuse?) or if it is different, you say it is not bad because it is different and "dude, at least they tried". Things can be the same or different but this doesn't mean are GOOD or BAD. Dark forces was the same as DOOM, but it was good. And Star wars galaxies was very different to everything and you are saying it was bad. And so it was very difficult to do it in galaxies, and althought you can argue they failed in other aspects, they did it perfectly in the environment and immersion feeling. Yes, they did it. And it didn't have to look "full" as Assassin's creed, (of course it is not an MMO, so you don't have to "draw" hundreds of real players) I don't need a feeling of a "filled" wordl, i want an INTERACTIVE world, a PERSISTENT world. Then why do we pay a server???????? Again let's be different, it'll be enough, but... ...doesn't matter if we copy the rest, we have been different in ONE aspect and that's enough. Blizzard did the game before, so you can't say they copied because there is no other way to do things rather than adding a voice. If you can't make it different enough, don't do it, the original already exist. And swtor is about having the best from blizzard (if it is the gameplay i'd say the WORST), and adding stories, so the best from... sorry... the best from EVERY GAME TODAY in your own words: You'll be hard pressed to find a game that isn't a sim or a sports-game that doesn't have story in it Got to say perhaps i am not as most players, i know. but if you are suggesting than most players ONLY play this game because they like the story... well, then the game is ended about two weaks after beginning... and people play faster than stories and voices are done, so it'll be constantly finished... so waiting for new stories will be boring. I hope they add other thing rather than stories, (and so they are doing). in 1.3 there is no new content... why do it then? Some improvements? why? it is perfect, isn't it? As long as i hear a story i don't mind the repetitive gameplay, the lack of options, the bugs, the errors... nope, the story is nice, got enough for an AAA Videogame. Sure some dev would have a heartache hearing that all that matters in this game is voice acting or story. Do you read the forums? you see what the rest of people is complaining about? You live in Taris or in Earth? I can't, but i assure you i would prefer to. Substitute contemplative story not related to gameplay for immersive sandbox that allows you to progress without a dev having to invent content? SURE Be careful, they may add anything (as it is an mmo) rather than another story and then you will not like the changes. Every person saying the game is nice this way is a "little offer" for the devs to not to have to improve. Again I can't, but i swear it was much better than playing Grand Turismo. At least your car could be destroyed.
  8. mmm... don't understand. You say roleplaying historically are not about giving total choice to characters, (That's EXACTLY what they are about). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Role-playing_game As the text shows, there is a narrative where the players evolve, and the setting has to give a sense of a narrative experience so it doesn't have to have a strongly-definded storyline So just like most rpg publishers and the author says: INTERACTIVITY is the CRUCIAL difference between rpg and traditional fiction (reading a book, watching a movie or TELLING A STORY). In THIS (mmo) role playing game the players have NOT a say in the events. And story IS NOT modified in any way. Other videogames that even aren't called rpg allow you to interact (Heavy Rain, for example, and of course, as STORY is the most important part in THIS other genre of movie-like videogames, they DON'T allow you to choose character, because are centered of story telling and how it evolves depending on YOUR decisions). In fact this ROLE PLAYING VIDEOGAME gives you limited choices in a moment when MOST videogames (even in OTHER genres) bet strongly for customization of all kinds. And still say that it is normal because the story is what really matters? Anyway, story doesn't have to be nothing about the species i can choose, It is not a MUST, a good story doesn't mean it has to have voices, and of course a good story doesn't mean i can't have the character i prefer most. So if that particular way of rpg doesn't allow to evolve the story, the other critical characteristic is that some rpg (specially videogames) are about developing YOUR character. You say it is not important, and it is strictly what the videogame rpg has to offer, since the custom options in story are more difficult to obtain, and are only restricted to slightly changes or different endings (that this title doesn't have). Then another characteristic of role playing videogames is that instead of promoting role-playing, as it is difficult in electronic version, they promote persistent worlds. of course persistent worlds CHANGE with interaction. swtor doesn't. And doesn't have a persistent world that is alive and changing while i am offline, and neither changes because players interaction. Of course that's what they pretended, to sell a game only because it says star wars in the box, of course that's why they have not done nothing to improve gameplay, just their "innovation" of voices is enough to make it different, sure, nobody has ever designed a videogame that actually has voices... Since LucasArts Monkey Island 3 VIDEOGAMES DO HAVE VOICES. And if devs wanted to do something different from what it is on the market they should have take a look at other videogame called world of warcraft, perhaps they would have seen that most of what they designed in swtor was already there and perhaps they would have tried to change their gameplay, or you think that added voices have made everyone blind?. Perhaps even taking some good ideas of a dissapeared game, called star Wars galaxies, could have been a good idea. Not the whole concept, as they are not able to do such a deep and enriched universe that even didn't need a story to be developed, but some ideas. Because, you may find it incredible, but lots of players that PLAY videogames likes the way the videogame is PLAYED rather than the story. To enjoy a story you can read a novel, and of course most stories in books are much better than "oh, got my attention? go and kill x". And you may find more suitable Heavy rain or the new Walking dead series, they are centered about the story, the story even CHANGES with your decisions and even have different endings. Or perhaps you don't like interactive stories that actually have different ending? I like the game, but not enough to keep playing as the gameplay is boring, that's enough. If i had OTHER characters to investigate and evolve, and had characteristics that allowed me to do differnt things, like having a little wookie moving in my screen, i'd keep on playing, that is exactly THE ONLY ONE THING that i said when you began your long disertion about role playing game stories and your myth creation doctorate. It doesn't matter, if you want you are right, the game is still boring, even with the great story covering everything. And interactive and customizable videogames exist too, believe it or not. In fact the older I remember was Racing Destruction Set, A COMMODORE 64 VIDEOGAME (so perhaps it was 1982-83) whose main characteristic was that allowed you to choose several cars and even build your own racing circuit with modular pieces so you wouldn't ever repeat same race twice... know who did this game? yes, the developers were a little group of programmers called Electronic Arts.
  9. In my opinion that's exactly the reason why it is not suited for rpg to gave story as the MOST important thing. When you role play with friends, in a table, you can develop the story because you can have some improvisation. You react to people choices, slightly guide them to the part you have designed better, and finally they look at all the wonderful content you have designed. When I gamemaster SW RPG, i have TONS of schematics, maps, npc characters designs (specially modified with photoshop) because I thnk it is worth the effort. Every person has ever played with me has enjopyed so much that they want to replay and replay. BUT in a videogame, you can't have such improvisation available, and you CAN'T have EVERY option in mind, so you have to be LINEAR and to do the players go where you want. That's why i feel like strong story in a videogame is against the whole concept of role playing. In an open world, you decide to do kill x or else. If you tie he players to story, then you have no feeling of choice. I know story makes this title GREAT, i have enjoyed a lot, but i see that story has been a problem with freedom of choices not only in the form of lack of aliens (that a lot of people regret) but to a lot more options that could have been included and they aren't. Character stats on rails, species related to allegiance, imposed companions, few and locked starships... I feel all this "restrictions" are because of the story point. To me (IMO, again) it is a matter of "balance". If you have to take out of a role playing game "options and freedom" (that are its MAIN characteristic) to include "great story" (most suited for other genres) the players would suggest you have chosen wrong. It happens that strong point of this videogame is what, in fact, gives it that solid aspect of not being able to do nothing more than what we are suposed to do. Soomeone would like it (the story is great) but others would complain about lack of whatever. If we don't have options and customization in a role playing game, should we look for options in another genre?? We are not playing an Interactive movie, or a Graphic Adventure from the 80's. Following the example of tabletop rpg, wonder if i did such a great adventure, so well done and so well balanced that when my friends come to play, instead of leting them choose their character i would say "no, i am sorry, you CAN'T rol a wookie today as i have not photoshoped any "white wookie" this time, instead take that bounty hunter because i have managed to modify GREAT photographs of Boba Fett with different colours, and it suits better my story". Fail. I can write the best story ever, but if my friends MUST have the character I want, i'd rather write a novel and let them read.
  10. woooow, 20 pages? The hardworking for a whole year i supose... AMAZING WORK
  11. Perhaps if there were dedicated healer characters someone would like to REALLY play a healer character, but as it is a spec, it may not be attractive enough. Every character can heal, but you have to respec just for a flashpoint? And I am afraid as EVERYTHING involves killing and killing, nobody likes to quest ALONE just healing your companion. It should be a CLASS, with its own respect, its own story and its OWN GAMEPLAY... but of course, the devs didn't think anyone would like to do anything different than being a serial killer in a rpg, and as EVERY mission consist in KILL X... what would a healer be able to enjoy?
  12. I am mostly amazed, as i have seen a PCGame interview where our God James Ohlen tells us that they were looking for any possibility to do ANY roleplaying game that involved story, imcluding a Game of Thrones mmo. They only minded about this aspect, to sell to any company their great idea of doing an mmo with story, so they of course didn't give ANY importance to the setting. In his own words: In those early stages, a compelling narrative was more important than the setting. “When we were first were deciding on what kind of game we were going to build, I really wanted to do a story-based massively multiplayer game because hey, it hadn’t been done before,” Ohlen said. “I thought: hey, good way to innovate – that’s what Bioware stands for and that’s what we’re good at.” http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/12/21/star-wars-the-old-republic-could-have-been-a-game-of-thrones-mmo/ That's the result, a videogame that could PERFECTLY fit in ANY environment, galaxy, fantasy realm or whatever. They bought star wars as if they could have bought Ghostbusters, nevermind if the idea FITS the universe you are working in, it was just a matter of ADAPTING the MMO to what they wanted to do, create stories, not character design or balancing or any of the considerations than ANY company could look for when doing a product SO different from the ones they are used to do. So imo that's why there are no aliens, or starships, or anything that you could find in Game Of Thrones environment, they don't care, just want to write stories. NO word about other aspects in interview. By the way, i can ALSO invent everyday a story about someone that needs your help and so you have to kill X... I would have liked to see how they could have pretended to write stories about game of thrones and don't look like children inventing tales in comparison to George R.R. Martin.
  13. Jedi preserve Life, look how our Jedi preserve life by commiting genocide after genocide. This is worse to me to relate a jedi killer than relate to a wookie mechanic. By the way, Momaw Nadon, the Ithorian from Mos Eisley cantina, is a Rebel Spy. Just like humans, aliens can be whatever. A Trandoshan killing for his "points" is more appealing to me than a Jedi using the force to kill. Actually, agressive telekinesis is considered "Dark Side", and our Jedi enjoy the effect every time. I already mentioned a lot of examples of well done ARCADE games. AND it is not the same a tunnel than a Battlefield 2 recreation, between these two, i want a middle point. Just to have the mission NOT on rails, with free movement (like Rogue Squadron a looong time ago) would have been enough to make it different each time you REPEAT IT. And X-wing simulator came in two 1,44 floppy disks, look at the infrastructure. Forgot wookies and trandoshans. You deliverately did not mention the ONLY ONES that you know i would like? In the story we got a trandoshan and a wookie, and they make theirselves clear. In kotor there were different jedis because IN FACT you were only able to choose the progression of your JEDI character, not other classes. You have compared the different prestiges from kotor with different CLASSES in swtor. So they have taken some characteristics that could have been specs and voila, we got another class. I am amazed how can you propose to destroy your story by respec your character whenever you want him to be a healer. So you are annoyed by the possibility of a wookie ruining my "feeling" but don't mind that every character, whenever he wants, becomes a master healer in 2 minutes. And you say a healer could be "stuck" in its story? Just like every consular, every bounty hunter, or EVERY class you want are "stuck" in their story. Doesn't matter what you do, the actual income is going to be the same if you are a healer or a serial killer. If you are as evil as a sith with your jedi, doesn't matter. In the back of the pre-order box they said "make decisions which define your personal story". Confusion. How do you find that right now they have placed photograph of a fully moddable weapon under the new 1.3 crafting upgrade announceent? But in the text only say "augments". But you see the image of a full moddable weapon and think, "ok, now i will be able to do ANY object i want fully moddable". Confusion. Just like a long time ago, when they began to place drawings and designs of alien races in their webpage, even one that showed a group of players, ONE of them being a wookie: You could see wookies, cathar, trandoshans... again confusion. But coincidentally EVERY alien picture was removed when this webpage did his wonderful change, and now you only see humans. Try to look for alien pictures in this web, they are no longer here. They are workers, got a job, and I hope well paid, but they sure don't make decisions. I fear that ECONOMICAL and MARKETING decisions make games like this one. Ironically, the desire to do something new and make people enjoy is what made Electronic Arts GREAT, with titles such as ARCHON, RACING DESTRUCTION SET and a lot more that they DEVELOPED in the 80's. Sure they remember those old times where a game HAD to be ORIGINAL and completely different from another one, or it wasn't worth to do it.
  14. Just a thought... if most players were the ULTRA DEFENDERS NO THIS IS GREAT AS IT IS kind... and so the game didn't need changes as it came from launch...what would have they upgraded? What would they have for 1.3???? All the things they are giving us SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE FROM THE BEGINNING! The ability to choose a race NOT RELATED to class OR allegiance? SHOULD HAVE BEEN THIS WAY Stability issues?? PATCHING?? EVERY videogame offers this today, not just MMO's. The ability to upgrade CRAFTING objects? Should be there too! Just feel like they are doing slightly adjustments, but nothing that really change the game, and when it is something that changes lots of things (just like this LFG Tool) i feel like it should be there from the beginning.
  15. But to pay monthly is the new black!! hehe Do ANY game you want, disguise it as a MMO and then you can earn monthly money with little changes.
  16. This is exactly what i think they aren't doing: be honest and tell the truth. I know that they sure can't be honest enough to recognize that "something had to be ripped off the game". I understand the point, nothing is perfect, and we had to get rip of something to make "this" game, but please, don't underestimate our intelligence showing the impossibility or lack of interest to do something as a "feature" that they added because they thought the game was going to be better this way. "because the bound is stronger if your character is a human"??. "giving too much importance to space would make two kind of players, so we only wanted to make a mini-game"?? "Classes have almost the same skills because we thought about balance"?? Excuses, all these things sound as excuses. You had no possibility to do other races as the gear wouldn't fit AND the presentation choosen that requires voice-acting would be a HUGE work. OK. Please, tell the truth. When they say that in fact, the most wanted species are in the game they don't seem honest, because cyborgs are not an alien at all, and many people feel they included them just because they didn't find anymore "humanish" species for filling. Same with classes, they are mirrored, the bounty hunter is exactly the trooper, the smuggler is exactly the agent, and there was a need for FOUR force users? With ONE jedi and ONE sith class was enough, but then they should have to invent another one to fill. Don't you think you spare a lot of designs with this decision? And of course there was no place for Traders or Crafters or Healers because nobody would play them. BUT as you need healers, then let's allow EVERY class to be healer even if you are a bounty hunter?¿?¿ a sith?¿?¿? A SITH healing???????? So, a REPUBLIC MEDIC or an IMPERIAL MEDIC are not interesting enough... or perhaps the real answer is that another class would need ANOTHER starship design and another GEAR design?? With two jedi and two sith you spare a lot of things. And don't you think that mirroring, species, classes, no space, no droids, lack of endgame, can be: A) Lazyness OR B) RUSH? OR C) They already got it under control, so they give every little piece with every update so you keep on being there? I don't know, when we talk about business, i feel like the LAST thing they care about is the final result of the game, but the final budget and that's all. But well, some people is really charmed with every aspect of the game. And I really am happy for this, I may resub if this keeps to go in the right direction, and therefore i need people to keep playing, or I'll loose the option if they close this game.
  17. In my opinion worst problem is common misions outside class that you got to quest if you don't want to suddenly find that your character level is 25 and you should have 29 to keep on doing the class quest. To me, this has been the problem, side quests (including flashpoints) that have to be repeated. The third time i got to Tatooine and had to do that Czerka mission, i gave up.
  18. I agree with you that of course graphics are not by far the most important thing in a videogame. To me the main characteristic is freedom. I think that actually customization is present even in games that don't need that factor, but it is seen as a good feature. Following the example of the sniper from Call of Duty, you can choose the ASPECT of your sniper, even in a game where you hardly see other thing that your weapon. And do you know how many people play hours or months to achieve a weapon cammo that ONLY affects the graphic that is in front of you? wrong, it is annual PRECIPITATIONS. If you mean a Polar Desert, wrong again, the polar deserts are mostly made of bedrock, when ice is present, or some form of moisture, then it is not necessarily a polar desert. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polar_desert SNOW IS a precipitation, so, as i remember seeing a lot of snow falling from the sky in Hoth, it is not a desert not even a polar desert in their whole surface, at least the places that appear in the movie are covered by SNOW. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precipitation_(meteorology)#Snow Anyway it is pointless to argue about this, you demonstrate that your point is to argue about anything. Just the same as saying in your first reply to me that it was "illogical" or "doubtfull" that i unsub because i wanted aliens. I have read persons that wanted to unsub because they wanted its commando to have infinite healing powers. Others have said they would unsub if there is no cross-server LFG tool. Likings are like colours, and in preferences matters you can not say "it's illogical". Tastes can't be logic nor illogic, they can't be ruled by logic. That's because it is a matter of personal preferences or liking, so it is subjective. You can give YOUR opinion, but not try to say i am wrong about my own personal likings. If the announcement states that i'm going to have moving lips and voices, it doesn't necessarily mean that i actually i'm going to loose other features. And, as aliens and space are a needed ingredient to science fiction SPACE OPERA and FANTASY (the genres that Star Wars belongs to) i think that these aspects are a must and so they should be present. And thought they ARE, they have not chosen the iconic races. It is like playing LOTR and not being able to choose an Elf or a Dwarf and instead the options were choosing from a Human Gondor soldier, a Human Rohirrim and a Human Wizard. And in the dark side you had no orks, only Human Easterlings and Human Dunlendings. Of course they exist, but some would feel that they have chosen poorly. I would never want, as an example, a Chiss to be removed from the game, someone would like them, but to me not having wookies or rodians or ithorians is fail (IMO)
  19. So you keep saying there's no need for customizaton in a MMO, nice. An example to see if you understand: We choose two characters, mine and yours. If we only got two classes, we got 50% odds to choose the same, if you got two jedi robes and two classes you got 25% odds. If you simply add two species/races then it gets to 12,5%. Easy. And then we begin playing a flashpoint and you decide to do A but I decided B and that's what will make the BIG difference?. We are the same character, use the same skills, and when the fp is finished, we keep being exactly the same and nothing has changed. Anyway you'll keep saying that the story, that is the same to everyone, is what really diferentiates you from others. What you keep stubbornly saying is that when you play Call of Duty doesn't matter if you CHOOSE a sniper, anyway millions of player has chosen them before you. When you play shogun total war, your daimyo choice is pointless because someone else has chosen it, or even if you decide in Assassin's Creed that you prefer to wear violet cape instead of white, you are wrong to believe you are special because sure someone already has an Ezzio Auditore in violet. EVERY game design consist on aesthetic, since the beginning of videogames in the 70's every player has wanted to go from level 1 to level 2 just to SEE how is the next screen. Anyway, to play in Hoth rather than keep playing in Tatooine is an illusion, as you still are doing the same but in a white planet instead of a yellow one. I'd like to see a game designed by you, a game that when you get to finish in Tatooine has a character that EXPLAINS you that now you are on a new planet, named Hoth, but that it has become a desert. Great way to evolve the story. And of course your tale teller would suggest you have a new clothing that anyway there's no need to show. Look at those OLD games, they were not in rails, they were funny and they were not simulators, they were ARCADE. You just can choose speed and have FREE movement. A galaxy wide difference. Star Wars STARFIGHTER series http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAp0NHlGyDo Star Wars Rogue Squadron series Star Wars Battlefront series http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rJ_JLb2cHE Not to mention SW Galaxies or the X-Wing videogames, including X-Wing Alliance that had a STRONG story. No, i'm sorry for being dumbed by great photographs AND videos where you could not have a clue that the movements the camera did in space battles where AUTOMATED. Sorry to be dumbed for high resolution videos that showed no real gameplay. Sorry to believe that, as a MMO, everything would be really nice in the future, with different GAMEPLAY options. Sorry to believe, without even seeing a screen of the game, that we could have species/races to choose (as they appeared in the apropiate tab in the web). It is almost a scam.
  20. I began my sub because love star wars and role playing games, played the beta, and thought that, apart from combat, we would have other things to do. I thought space battles would be upgraded... i subscribed, payed... nothing changed but anyway i was having fun. Waited for 1.2 because i thought it would be a good thing to experience, and that the new improvements would made me reroll again with the motivation in new prizes... but the gameplay has been boring enough to throw out all this desires, i have tried to reroll ONE more character, just to try to have something from the legacy... haven't been able to stand it anymore, i am not only bored, now i am as if i had done an EFFORT that was not worth.
