  1. Mine isn't quite this bad, but I'm definitely seeing combat lag again. My ping will be fine (<30 ms), but it will still take half a second or more for the game to register any combat/targeting action. Makes it very difficult, since I'm never quite sure what's on cooldown/what isn't, what my health is, etc. It's doubly bad in warzones.
  2. BAH! Until I can marry Blizz, my heart belongs to no one. UTINNI.
  3. I saw it as a way to make more credits, the best fighters will get the better payouts! I can pretend to be into honor and glory if it means more money. Also, I just really wanted the Mandalore title. Oops.
  4. Yeah, I was hoping there was something I was missing, but I'm with you, if it's this complicated to group it's probably not possible. Thanks for the suggestions, guess she'll be getting an earful of strategy tonight
  5. Oh, no, I meant accepted Mandalore. But I was disappointed that we don't even get so much as a Mandalore title, it seems to have little effect on things.
  6. LS 5 and I accepted. Not sure why we don't get a title or something though? Seems to have little effect...
  7. Also, it is important to note that basically none of the companions follow a strict Empire/Republic attitude by design. Politics are complicated, galactic politics even more so. Think of your political party of choice, do you agree with 100% of what they say? I really like that they gave the companions depth enough to react like real people would, and didn't just tie them to a faction or alignment.
  8. I have a friend who has become stuck on The Trials class quest on Voss, so I went to help her through it and could not figure out how to do this one as a group. Is it solo only? If not, how do I get in to help her? This is the quest where you - We are both BHs (I am 50 and have done the quest, she is 46) - She has 'Allow same class into group phases' checked - Both she and her companions are equipped to reasonable levels PLEASE leave the l2p trolls for another thread, I'm not interested. We just want to get her through the quest so she can enjoy the rest of the game. Edit: Last line might have come across too harsh, helpful/constructive suggestions are always welcome! I'd just rather avoid the "omgnoob!" comments.
  9. I decked him out in full PVP gear too! He can hold his own in group fights and keep me from taking aggro. And the best part is, when the fight is over you can just dismiss and recall in 2 seconds and he's at full health again! (Or if outside, just hop on your speeder and off, even quicker). I've found him to be the quickest to quest with, since there's almost no down time between fights now.
  10. How about the Light Side option to poison slaves? That one had me puzzled. Wouldn't the Light Side option be to.. I don't know.. free them? And maybe punch the slave owner in the face for extra credit?
  11. Already touched on this a little, but basically the companions aren't tied to faction politics as is. Most of their affection comes from more general ideas, honor/greed/compassion/etc or just the fact that they needed a ride and you were there. So, at it's core, there's no reason to think anything would have to be done at all here. But, they could definitely make the feature more immersive by tying those general ideas into the faction switching quest line. For example, defecting Empire and going Republic could be seen as an act of compassion for the little guy, increasing affection in those companions with a soft-heart and decreasing compassion in the more callous ones. I would hope that the affection system isn't hard-coded to the quest line and would be flexible enough to support this. (Please tell me it's not "IF Gault THEN Affection++")
  12. I intend to do this, for sure, especially considering that leveling was more fun than end-game so far! (And I mean that as a compliment, I forgot I was grinding XP for most of it. Except Aldaraan ::shudder:: ) But I *really* like Bounty Hunter. And more importantly, I really like MY bounty hunter. Would be nice to be able to have my main be where I want him to be. As a light side BH, it just makes more sense to be Republic than Empire. From a story perspective, a BH is going to go where the credits are. From a server-perspective, it would help balance PVP, at least, more so than depending on people to maintain two separate "main" characters at end game, just in case the server becomes unbalanced. But again, I concede it's not the "ultimate" solution, just part of a bigger picture.
  13. Stories could be solved by making it end-game only. There aren't really any story based quests once you finish your class line anyway, just daily heroics. And it would be cool to be able to do both sides heroics. Differentiating factors could be introduced with faction-specific gear. But I could see PVP min-maxer types all switching to the winning side. This happened a lot in SWG as well, but it was usually balanced out by guilds like mine, that preferred the challenge of being on the losing side. It's a fair point though, it wouldn't be the ultimate solution, just a start.
  14. Ah, didn't realize that worked, I must have been typing the wrong command. Still, I'd like to be able to add cross-factions to the same guild, since we use guild chat more than anything. But that's a separate issue.
  15. Yeah, I wish they'd open up cross-faction communication too. I want to be able to roll an alt as a different faction than my guild, but still talk to my friends when we're online. It doesn't even make sense in a RP/story sense to block comms. Function needs to trump style in this case. As for companions, I don't see it being an issue. No reason the companion couldn't defect with you, you are a team after all. Or even take it a step further and have affection gain/loss based on switching. Though from a BH perspective, none of my companions seem to care about the war at all anyway.
  16. So I don't think I've seen this brought up before, but how would the community feel about the ability to switch factions? I realize this would cause problems in the story-line leveling, but it could be a level 50 only option. Maybe even have a mission where you "defect" that is repeatable every-so-often. This seems like a very clean way to fix server imbalance, as the population could control itself. (And would provide some pretty good RP options.. double-Agents, anyone? I also played my BH to go against the Empire as much as possible) I know the comparison gets made a lot, but this was an option in SWG. I used it extensively, as the population ebbed and flowed between Imp and Reb my friends and I would always defect to the underdogs for the extra challenge. It seemed to keep the population relatively in check and PVP was typically pretty close to balanced. Just a thought... any opinions here?
  17. For the love of Darth, can we get some themes and default font choices?? The text on this forum just about makes my eyes bleed! *Especially* the bright yellow on dark blue for dev posts (which is most of what I check for). Am I alone in this?
  18. Some of them do. I'll leave out the details so it's not a spoiler, but as a BH there was a character I had the option to kill at one point and chose not to (Light Side points). About 5-10 levels later, she returned to get vengeance on me for killing her friend.
  19. All of those are valid points, but the number one problem with Ilum is the PLAYERS. In order for open world PVP to work, you have to actually.. you know.. fight each other. I finally made level 50 today and was all excited to check out Ilum. I run into a Repub player and start shooting, then the ENTIRE server comes down on me for it because they're all taking turns capping points. LAME. What's the point in grinding out good gear to pvp with if you don't actually pvp? I see the same thing in the Warzones. People hiding in the corners waiting out the timer. What do you need good gear for to do that? Can we have a new set of servers for people who don't care about min/maxing every piece of gear the fastest and just want to enjoy playing the game?
  20. Here, these videos will explain everything: http://redlettermedia.com/plinkett/star-wars/ Or in summary: George Lucas has obviously never seen episodes 4 - 6 and should be force choked for his incompetence.
  21. You can do this. It's called a credit card, and you can pay it over time.
  22. I was BH pre/post CU, player bounties were definitely the most fun thing in SWG! elpollodiablo / Wonko - Tarquinas
  23. Don't think any of my old guildies are actually around, but just in case: Server: The Fat Man Characters: elpollodiablo / Wonko
