  1. You cannot compare a fictional weapons, with a real world device. Given that Is is Fiction a lightsabers components, and building material are likely to be unlike anything we currently possess. Obviously It cannot be entirely weightless, but taking into account that The Force would amplify the users strength, and stamina the weight issue Is quickly corrected. The people who would use Lightsabers will have spent their entire lives using It. The idea that It would feel awkward due to weight, or which way the hilt was hanging Isn't valid, as It Is likely the user has chosen these things themselves, and are accustomed to that preference. I don't understand where all this Is coming from. You've clearly watched the movies, and every single person (except Han) never have any problems using their lightsaber for defense, or attack even with these "awkward" and "impractical" ways to carry them. While It may seem impractical, and seems awkward to you, that certainly doesn't mean whoever Is using It feels the same way.
  2. It has been that way since 1977. Why on Earth would they change it now?
  3. I don't think having Qui-Gon train Anakin instead of Obi-Wan would have been ideal, nor do i think It would have stopped Anakin from falling to the Dark side at some point. I believe It's implied in Episode 1 that Qui-Gon is very rebellious by nature, having defied the council at least once in the past. I do not believe having such a character mentor him would have saved Anakin from the Dark Side. Qui-Gon believed almost from the moment he met Anakin that he might be The Chosen One. I think he would have catered way too much to his rebellious nature, and nurturing his advanced abilities and arrogance. He probably wouldn't have been "holding him back" as Anakin thought Obi-Wan did. But I think that Obi wasn't as much "holding him back", as keeping Anakin grounded. If Anakin embraced his rebellious nature, powers, and arrogance he would just have fallen to the Dark side sooner, and more easily. Obi-Wan did his best to keep Anakin humble as every Jedi should be. In Episode 3 Anakin says that he wants more power, but admits he knows It's wrong. While Obi-Wan might have held Anakin back, either because he feared his powers, or someting along those lines, he tried all he could to turn Anakin into a Jedi, and for the most part he succeded. I think Qui-Gon would gone to great lengths to ensure Anakin grew to be the most powerful Force user ever. Even If that meant defying the Council. Part of me believes that no matter what path Anakin chose he would have fallen. Like It was part of his destiny.
  4. What's the AH? I'd quite like this blaster for myself.
  5. At the moment I'm using a Champion PvP blaster, and the DTB-27. But I've started looking for a pair of those D-200 blasters. When I'm done tweaking my gear I'll be grinding for a pair of Cassus Fett's Blasters. I don't suppose anyone has a picture of one of those? I haven't been able to find one yet.
  6. Jango Fett. He has the same facial expression whether he's being questioned by a Jedi, or has a lightsaber to his throat. And because they made an army of him for a reason.
  7. Just like you completely missed my point. If the only MMO the OP has invested serious time, and effort into Is WoW It's going to affect his opinion regarding any new MMO. The OP's complaining about TOR's gameplay, and how It doesn't feel as right to him compared to his characters in WoW. If he has 7 years worth of play time in WoW versus the what, 2 months time everyone has in TOR he can't expect everything to be exactly the way WoW is. He either needs to go back to WoW, or realize that no MMO is exactly alike, and 7 years of exclusive gameplay gives you habits, and expectations that's hard to meet. Checkmate indeed.
  8. SWTOR doesn't have an investment, It Is an investment. And just like WoW Bioware will continue to fine tune It over the next several years, I'll elaborate on that now. Basically my ***. In the first month I played as a Death Knight they revised the talents twice. Removed entire abilities, and moved others around, constantly nerfing, or balancing. For the 2 years that followed Death Knights were changed greatly. Sure Basically It's the same. But Blizzard continues to fine tune everything, just like Bioware will. WoW was never anywhere as perfect as you make it out to be, not at launch, and certainly not later. With Cataclysm they refined the entire Talent system, and for Pandaria they're going to do it again, with even more extreme measures. What you're looking for Is WoW. Something that has 7 years worth of experience, and fine tuning. TOR Is a different game, and you have to accept that some things just can't be exactly like you feel they should be. You can either go back to WoW, or invest time in TOR, and follow the evolution process that WoW went through as well, and reap the benefits later. By the sound of It, the game TOR is right now just isn't for you since you've become so attached to the way WoW plays out. TOR needs, and deserves time grow, and evolve. Just like WoW, and every other MMO before them did.
  9. Not sure If you're trolling or not, but here goes. That's your first problem right there. When you've played Any game for that long, and then suddenly try another one you have 7 years worth of habits to deal with. TOR Is a different game, Of course things will not be accustomed to you. You need to invest time into It before It starts to feel like WoW does to you now. WoW has 7 years worth of polish, TOR deserves at least that much to see If Bioware gets It right. WoW perfected noting. They refined what was already established. And It kept doing that for 7 years. In time TOR will polish, refine, tweak, and balance everything as well. I agree. But new MMO's are getting shot down way to fast. Before TOR even launched some WoW players were completely beating on it, claiming It would never succeed. People need patience If they ever want another game to match WoW's standards. I have little doubt that by the end of this year The Old Republic will be a great MMO.
  10. Getting right up in Vader's face to make a point Is trying to be nice? Why would I do that when the incident I'm referring to Is In the movies? I never mentioned anything In my post about the EU, everything I said happens In the films. I never even brought his actual combat skills into my argument. Again, why should I refer to C canon, when the point I was making Is G Canon?
  11. He simply appeals to some people In ways unique to each person. There's plenty of people who hate him too, and people who don't care about him, but love another character. The thing about him that appeals to me Is the sense of mystery that used to surround him, pre Episode 2. He looked cool, acted cool, and just came off as a pretty bad *** guy. If you pay attention to his conversations with Vader he doesn't seem afraid of him, something everyone else usually seems to be. Vader also doesn't patronize him, or anything like that, contrary to what he did with Lando. Even when Boba got up In Vader's face firmly stating how valuable Solo was to him, Vader just made sure Boba would get paid either way, instead of saying "sucks for you If he dies then.", or just choked him. And since I'm a Fett fan I'd rather remember Boba Fett as the guy Darth Vader didn't want to piss off, than the guy dying the most unlikely death ever.
  12. First off I gotta address the "balance" issue, again. Balance In terms of Star Wars does not, nor has it ever meant equal numbers of Sith, and Jedi. Balance means no Sith, only Jedi. Think of it like this, the Jedi are like the white blood cells in your body. You don't notice, or feel them during your daily life. They just go around, being neutral, doing nothing you'll ever notice. The Sith on the other hand are like a virus, or a parasite. They infect your body with nothing but evil, and bad intents at heart. They desire nothing good for you. The Jedi, and white blood cells restore balance to your body by destroying the virus. Gruug, Luke never brought balance to the Force this way. He did bring his father back to the light, but It was always Anakin's destiny to bring balance by destroying the Sith. He did that when he tossed the Emperor down the shaft, and In that process also killed Darth Vader. Now, to the issue at hand. 13. Ah, the good ol' math nerds. Using their large brains, and unclaimed virginities for the public's amusement.
  14. For the love of God someone tell me where the Greaves drop from. My grinding is nearing 3 digit numbers, and I haven't left the fleet In over a week, and I'm nearing Millionaire status thanks to the loot money. I need those friggin' pants.
  15. I need to raise this question again. I just need to know If Anyone have seen the Greaves drop, and from which Boss in which Flashpoint. I've been running Both BP, and Foundry so much I've made literally 4-500,000 Creds In loot alone, and that's still skipping the majority of the fights. Please for the love of God I can't take It anymore, I just need to know which exact boss has been known to drop those *** **** illusive pants.
  16. Granted. But If Bioware ever removes It from the quest, or changes the color for future recipients It's collector value might rise sharply. Agreed. I've been looking for a suitable replacement for a while now. It does however match excellently with the White/Red Raptor PvP set for level 40's I believe.
  17. I too believe that Guild Banks are the first thing Guilds get with the next big patch. And yes Bioware has said that they truly want to make Guild Capital Ships a reality, I think It's In one of the recent Developer Blogs. But It is a bit further down the line. I hope Imperial Guilds get something like the Harrower class Dreadnaughts. I really like the design. They put the ship bar right behind the bridge.
  18. Correct. I've heard a few people saying It has that color scheme because It was the first moddable item put into the game. Making It highly valuable as a collectors item.
  19. For the first time since they announced his return, I'm actually looking forward to seeing It.
  20. Good to know. And you're right, something like this Is extremely complex. In that case I highly recommend you post shorter sections, and give out as many details as possible, rather than sacrifice quality for the sake of quantity. This Is a very good thing. It narrows down the things you have to get right, and conform to immensely. A lot of things you establish early on could go on to conflict greatly with the OT. Owen's comments In Episode 4 clearly indicate he knew Obi-Wan to a degree, claiming that "he died about the same time as your father." I think It should also be explored How Anakin would go about joining the Republic Army seeing as he would most likely still be either a slave, or a moisture farmer on a remote planet that's not a part of the Republic. Out of personal interest I'd also love an explanation as to Why the Republic has a standing Military In this era, as In the movies they had no army until the Clone Army was legalized. Well as i said above, quality above quantity. Is this conflicting story intentional? First you say the Republic Cruiser Is under attack, then Nute asks why the Neimoidian ships are being attacked? Logically Padme would not be sent to do anything other than politics, and diplomatic discussions seeing as she Is not a soldier. Either the Jedi would do such tasks, or as In the Clone Wars the Republic had the Coruscant Guard, a special section of Clone Troopers who would accompany Senators on important Diplomatic missions. I think the audience could be confused at this point. First the Republic Cruiser falls under attack, or the Neimoidians depending on who's telling the story. Then the Viceroy (I assume?) Is assassinated without proper explanation. At this point we wouldn't know who the enemy was, who the good guys are, and what the conflict is actually about. Given Obi-Wans reaction to Alderaans destruction In a New Hope, I don't think he would react so rashly on a hunch. When he felt Alderaan being destroyed he just had to sit down, but he told Luke to keep training, and didn't tell Han to disengage the hyper drive. He would sense something Is wrong, but when he doesn't have any idea what was wrong there's really little to do about it. Given Anakins portrayal In Episode 1 as Force Sensitive I think the audience introduction to that needs to be more high profile, and not something a Jedi next to him also happens to feel. In Episode 1 It was stated that Anakin was the only human known to be capable of Pod Racing, showing his strength In the force, as well as his natural piloting skills. The idea for such a scene Is good. Like in Dragon Age where you could talk with your party members In camp, and learn more about them, and bond with them. The concept itself Is perfectly fine. But as you say, It needs to be fleshed out. This explains why they would be attacking them If the Geonosian leaders were clones, but they need to be introduced as allies of the Republic. Otherwise an attack from them Is emotionally pointless. Things like important settings simply needs to be established early on. Of course we would see Padme, Anakin and Obi-Wan arrive at the Palace. You just needed to add this to your opening so the audience knows that's where they started. Seems reasonable. If you really like the idea of it, cheesy or not, you just need to work on It to make It less cheesy, and actually bearable and important to the story. Given Luke's initiation I don't think a big ceremony of any kind would take place. More likely the Jedi Masters telling Anakin he was accepted as Obi-Wan's Padawan. Of course I'll read follow ups. I'd hate to invest time, and knowledge into a big post, and then bail. I'd be happy to help you as best I can. Also, Wookipedia Is very good for checking sources, lore, and names so you get all the minor details right.
  21. If It's solely for therapeutic reasons I sincerely hope you won't take criticism personally. Already now you're conflictic tons of established canon, not just PT lore, but OT, and EU lore as well. I'd like more clarification, Is this intentional? Because If you're only writing your version of the PT It still needs to conform to what's established in the OT. Such as Obi-Wan claiming Luke's uncle was afraid he'd run off on some "idealistic crusade, like your father did." Or If you're just re writing the entire saga, In which case you need to specify how much stuff you're ret-conning for your stories. Why would they be held hostage? And by whom? Details like that are important. What conspiracy? You really need to present these plot points to the readers since they're basically the foundation for the plot. I wasn't even aware that they had interacted with Nute Gunray. I assume this "Tyranneous" Is the same character as Count Dooku? Such alliances need to be introduced earlier on instead of being introduced as a simple plot device later in the story, without any prior introduction. This is way too vague. What Palace? How did they manage to tranquilize Maul? So he's being Knighted, and then declared a Padawan? Mate those 2 ranks are reversed. They can't just Knight him as a Jedi as he's had No training whatsoever. In fact you never stated he was force sensitive at this point. And who would the Republic be going to war with? I'm not sure who the antagonist Is, or what their plan Is. I did not proceed to read your second part. Because the first one Is filled with plot holes, inconsistencies, and you really overhaul a large amount of Canon, and lore. I honestly think you need to work a Lot more on the first part. You never say who the Republic Is fighting, or why. Please read over the sections above, and try and see It from a readers perspective. We have very little to go on, you heavily re write established Canon, and lore, and you never tell us who the protagonists are fighting, or why.
  22. When It's just "anybody" It could go either way. If they're into Sci-Fi start with the originals, so the flashy effects aren't the only thing keeping them interested. If they're not into Sci-fi start with the prequels, If nothing else they'll appreciate the effects. But for a girlfriend who's never seen them, and with Episode 1 In theaters In 3D... Do the math. Seriously just take her to see Episode 1. If she likes it, awesome. If not, at least you enjoyed It, and you got a nice day out with the lady friend.
  23. Dumb* You're calling us dumb, and yet you're saying oldist is a word?
