  1. As strange as it sounds my computer won't download the game client. I had been playing but ran into a serious graphical glitch that could not otherwise be fixed. I thought trying a fresh install would help so I uninstalled the game. However when I go to https://www.swtor.com/game/download nothing happens when I click on the "Download now" link. I can download other things with no issues it's just that one that is causing problems. Any help would be appreciated as I would like to continue playing the game. Thank you in advance. Dar-Ell
  2. Returning player here, been gone for a little while *sadness* My question, as the Outlander can my Jedi Knight romance Vette? Or even Kaliyo? Just curious, thanks in advance.
  3. yeah, can't log in here either, however I do not have a security key attached. I did initially but had it removed about a year or so ago. Le sigh, was hoping to play some more. Anyone who follows twitter have any more info, eta, etc?
  4. So, what you all are saying is be glad I got stuck at work for a few extra hours because my idea to run home and play SWTOR before my son woke up wasn't going to happen anyway? Wow that was a long sentence. TL/DR good thing I can't play, BW please fix?
  5. While I applaud some things about the expansion, (class stories, planet visuals, killing massassi) the fact it was about Revan ruined it. Overused. Both Revan and the basic plot. Follow with me now, an outside faction not of the Empire or Republic gains power and a number of followers. It is now our characters job to fight against this outside threat before it can destroy their faction. So, which bad guy/guys am I talking about? Hutt Cartel? Check. Dread Masters? Check. Revan? Check. Honestly BW, what happened to the so called war between the Empire and Republic. It's been two years since either side fired an honest shot at each other*. Revan is and should be dead. If he comes back again, (never should have been the game in the first place, but that is my opinion) I promise it will be to the same tune as before. All powerfull outside faction that must be taken down by imps or pubs before he destroys both. *
  6. I have to agree and disagree. Yes, I was expecting more content of the class story kind and was disappointed we didn't and haven't gotten it. At least, however, SoR had some class content. Makeb had none, so while it may have been cutting corners, SoR was still a step up from the first expansion.
  7. Greetings friends! Still looking for a guild? Let me share something with you. My time in the Army of Light has been one of the best times in any MMO. Wonderfull, helpfull members. People on at most times of the day, Three full time raid groups. Three! We even have a presence in PVP and RP. If you're looking for a great guild, I say look no further.
  8. While your idea would look cool, it unfortunitely would take a lot longer than the sith ability. That was why the original Project got changed, because it was faster imp side. There would be no balance between the mirrors. The only real fix I can see for this would be to add in "Forcey" lines or a powerfull "Wind" like effect. I don't want that, as I can see the "Avatar" rip offs coming out in droves.
  9. hmm, in order... Never had this happen to me. For a while, a few months ago, when ever I would attempt to enter a WZ I would get booted to character select. I'm not sure excately what you mean about this, perhaps a Screen Shot? Otherwise...I'm gonna say, just move the ops screens. Annoying but not a bug. Again, I'm a bit confused as to what you mean so please don't take any offense. The inspecting bug...yeah, they know about it and are working on it, least that's what I was told/implied last time I submitted a bug report on it.
  10. That would be my JK. He doesn't kill out of anger or hate. He kills because it's justice. A cold killer who believes what he does is "right" and "just" all to protect the innocent and the weak. Honestly, it's sometimes scarier than my Sith who has been known to kill a man just for snoring.

    Malavai Quinn

this was the only part of the Warrior storyline I disliked. I treat my companions very well. They never want for anything, ever. They get all they could want. All I ask from them is loyality (and kisses from Jaesa...tmi?) Quinn betrayed that loyality. He had choices. He could have said something to me, he could have refused. He knew we were undermining Baras, that eventually we would fight each other and one of us would die (Baras and I). Instead of remaining loyal to me, he tries to kill me. I do hold my companions to a higher standard and give them more leeway. I accept they have differing opinions of light side and dark side choices and which should be made. Quinn took my trust, took my faith in him and used it against me. He committed the ultimate sin. For that we should be given the option to kill him. I wouldn't be happy about it, but......some things need to be done.
  12. HK is fast becoming my JK's favorite companion Khem is so much more entertaining than his counselor counterpart (DS) Jaesa is my love (interest in the game) oh, and to the poster above who commentated about her I despise, hate, loathe, Quinn. My warrior brothers and sisters know why and even if they don't agree, they understand.
  13. You know what I find funny? This thread got more responses after the necro then before. This has been a topic that has been discussed since before the game officially launched. Yes, my opinion might be biased seeing as I play Jugg and Guard. Hey, at least I'm willing to admidt it. So think of it like this, not as a class balance issue, but as a warzone balance issue. What do I mean by that? Simple, my Jugg might have an advantage in Huttball but not in say, Voidstar. I can't leave my door to hit the ranged DPS characters attacking me cause as soon as I do, someone is going to start capping it and I won't be able to get back in time. Classes are supposedly balanced against rock/paper/scissors. Well, some warzones favor one class more than the other. The next warzone might favor a different class. That is why these are team based games, so when one class is unfavored, their buddies (and buddets) can help out. And now for the snarky answer....and I apologize in advance if I offend anyone; Honestly, complaining about one warzone when it's a random selection between five now is silly. On average you are only going to be playing that zone 1/5th of the time. You really want to complain about something, how about gear gaps, stun locks, glitches, exploits, etc.
  14. Warrior was my first 50. Knight was my second. Love the class, the animation differences, the over all feel of them. However when it comes to story....I liked the Knight story, I LOVED the warrior story. Begining to end, it is my favorite in the game with one exception and those who have played it will know of what I speak, even though to prevent spoilers, I won't actually speak it. Seriously my options at that point were highly limited to what my character would have done.... Otherwise, amazing story...loved it.
  15. hey TripleCharged, I've got one for ya.... I play an hybrid Jugg and Guardian, and Gunslingers are way too overpowered. I can't leap to them, I have one ranged attack, and my beautiful CC's wont work most of the time. Why can't my class beat them easily? Why should they have an advantage I don't? Think this variation of your complaint is whiney and biased? Guess what? That's every post you've made in this thread. I'm sorry but it's true. You don't want to learn, you want your class to be perfect and have no challenge. Life's unfair son, get used to it before you get out of high school or the real world's gonna be a nightmare. Actually I don't have too much of a problem with Gunslingers/Snipers except when I'm guarding a door in Voidstar....Why you ask? Because it's harder to LoS them there and still guard the door. Otherwise, I'll taunt them, LoS them, and ignore them. Oh wait, Stealthers....yeah, only had a problem with one stealth scoundrel in my time. Not because he was OP, but because he was better than me. No shame in that. P.P.S. Nerf Operatives?
  16. so....do what I do. When you see one of these "ninja's" in your PUG, explain to them the difference between Need and Greed (Need = immediate upgrade for current character/ Greed = upgrade for companion or alt) and why "need"ing on everything is bad grouping form. If they still continue to "ninja" mark their name down and refuse to group with them again. If you use Group Finder it tells you the name of the people you are grouping with before you even hit the accept button. If enough people did this, these "ninja" would eventually be alone maybe then they could learn about sharing and proper group etiquette. Just my two creds, Peace all. Dar-Ell
  17. Actually, Malgus was showing off in "Hope" by not using a real lightsaber and instead using some type of crystaline blade. How do I know this? As ms Shan is blocking it, you can see cracks form on the blade. A lightsaber is a blade made up of plasma and thus, can't actually crack. So, yeah, I have no problem with her blocking the blade. To the OP, I hope we get to do it soon....my Jugg would love a crack at that rhymes with witch.
  18. I also use a hybrid spec, and it seems to work very well. Mine is a bit different than others having more Immortal then Vengeance ( I think Backhand is and should be a staple of the Jugg class, but that's just me) so the only "threat tool" I'm missing is the 31 point ability from the Immortal tree. I tank just about everything I'm in from Heroics to Flashpoints to PVP (no operations yet.) A few suggestions....our AoE threat generation is smaller (radius) than the other tanks which sometimes requires us to switch targets alot to keep them focused on us. Situational awarness is key so you don't accidently hit a CC'd mob. Start with Jaesa, she's great at aggro'ing tons of stuff with her AoE's. Move onto Heroics before Flashpoints, and when you are comfortable working in a group in the Heroics, then move onto Flashpoints. Tell the people you are grouping with if you are unfamiliar with a Flashpoint or Heroic. They will, more often than not, be more supportive and help point out things that can make a run smoother.
  19. Wow, there is alot of hyperbole and misinformation in this thread. Let's break it down gently, shall we? and to others in this thread: sneroplex, I literally laughed out loud...good one. JediDuckling only if they are fighting against fresh 50's without any expetise gear. So it is possible, but not likely to happen often. Implicit, if they have full DPS gear, they will not have the higher HP. DPS gear has more str then end. I equipped DPS gear of a higher quality than what I was wearing and watched my HP's drop. Hyperbole more please. Implicit (post number 12) show me the unedited video of a tank in tank gear doing that much damage consistantly against an even geared opponent. You can't? Then I also call shennigans. durvas (post 17) That is balanced. That lost damage on the guarded target? It's going to the tank. Hypothetical situation, Imp vs Imp Alderaan (it's hypothetical, so it's possible) A jugg tank and a healing operative are guarding a turret. The jugg has Guard on the op. They aren't paying attention and allow two DPS specc'ed sorc's sneak up on them. The sorc's both use the AoE lightning attack on the two at the same time. How much damage is the tank going to take considering defense and armor don't work against yellow damage? Didoson (post 19) I always considered it like a short range shield generator so the 15 meters fits. However it is very easy to get beyond 15 meters. The easest way is one of the two not paying attention and wandering away from the other. A force push, pull, knockback, etc and you have vulnerable healer. Nah, 15 meters if fine and allows some playing room to run around and still perform your functions. Rippeh (post 24) Actually good tanks will get seperation here via moving themselves or by moving you so they are no longer in the AoE's radius. It's slightly more complicated then just dropping Guard, but alot more benificial to the team. Purre (post 25) Alright, let's count. Out of sixteen overall classes, who has guard. Juggs/Guardians 1; Assassins/Shadows 2; Powertechs/Vanguards 3; Yes, 3 as in 3 per side. six total out of sixteen leaving ten classes without guard ability. Over half do not have guard ability. That is too many? Oh, wait, you weren't really complaining about the guard ability, just the knockbacks. Subtle but it is what it is. And when rated comes out, tanks will play an important role, but not be an overwhelming number on most teams. Implicit (post 26) Serioulsy? Can I play against your team, cause your DPS is going to be so gimped it won't be funny.
  20. So yeah, SWTOR got a small mention on NCIS on Tuesday. I was playing the game last night and didn't see it till I watched the episode this morning. Conversation went something like this... McGee, "Did he say anything about the Watcher Eight?" Buisness guy, "No but he was always going on about Skyrim and The Old Republic. Those are online games right? You look like like you play those." McGee, "I did, but then I took an arrow to the knee."
  21. yeah, I was actually making fun of when Batman got "killed" by Darkseid only to find out he was traveling through time. sort of a parady of Final Crisis. Also, to the person who said that since Batman can hide form Manhunter he could hide from the Jedi....the Jedi's sense don't work the same way. JJ can read thoughts, the Jedi can sense an attack coming in at them. So theoretically Bats could hide from them indefinitely, as soon as he tried to sneak attack one, they would stop him. Honestly, Batman is the only one I think the Jedi could beat. Well, him and Aquaman. Though now that I think about it, silver age Aquaman could control marine animals, would that include Kit Fisto?
  22. just yesterday I was running (well, riding my STAP) across one of the bridges in Kaas city, right through a protest. what were they protesting? the republic and their "anti/kill all the imperials" policies. In game terms at least, I think the people of the Empire like the empire. Then again, it might just be all in how you sell it. To the imperials, the republic is the bad guy, threatening genocide, to the republic, the imperials are the bad guys threatening genocide.
  23. The Jedi and the JLA line up to fight, Yoda says, "Wait we must, sense no evil in you. Allies we should be, not enemies." Martian Manhunter says, "The little one is correct, I have scanned their minds." JLA vs Palpatine. After three movies with both over and under acting, horrible dialogue, pretty cool special effects, Pappa Palpatine tricks the JLA into fighting each other. The battles are fierce and violent and only stop when Batman figures out the plot and confronts Palpatine. Who then blasts him with lightning somehow opening a time warp and sending Bats on a time traveling adventure while at the same time leaving a skeleton wearing a batman costume in it's original place. Superman, in his grief, accidently drops a moon on Palpatine. What? it could happen. Lord knows I've seen worse from DC comics.
  24. That's about what I was thinking and close to what I use now. 14/27/0 didn't give me what I wanted and 31/8/2 didn't feel right. Really looking forward to 1.2 and hope it comes out soon.
  25. I have a question...not for you OP, great writeup. BioWare, why has this not been stickied yet?
