  1. So after reaching level 55 on mekeb, I had to step back from the game for a bit. I am returning to make the push to 60, but when i got to the mission terminal on my ship (after arriving at the new 55-57 planet) the quest says Earning: spoilers ahead, you may want to finish your class story before continuing. Did i miss something? or is that warning there for everybody? I thought i read somewhere that there was 1 class story quest added, where is it?
  2. A story that lasts for all the new levels and doesn't dump me out 1 and 1/2 lever short of cap with nothing but generic grindy quests to do to finish! and thats with an xp boost and doing every daily i came across!
  3. all he said was “We are looking at free-to-play, but I can’t tell you in much detail. We have to be flexible and adapt to what is going on.” that is not the same as "we are going free to play" people like you are the reason this web site is nicknamed "torchan"
  4. Its a free trial. you get your ship, and finish the first real "Twist" in your story line before you have to pay. its just enough to leave you wanting more, and that's the entire point. To get you addicted and them make you have to pay for your fix.
  5. The amount of sheer idiocy in this thread is astounding. 1. Allowing people to make trial accounts and get to level 15 for free is not the same as being free to play... In this game, level 15 is a nice rounded level to get your damn space ship, and discover the first real "twist" in any given classes story line. At this pivotal moment, that's when they have to give biowar/EA money if they want to see more! Its called a god damn FREE TRIAL! In the world of ileagl drugs, you might have heard the saying "The first ones free" in the automotive industry its called a test drive. in the food industry its called a free sample. in the movie industry its called a teaser. Every successful mmo has a free trial in one form or another. Its just enough game to get the people hooked and wanting more without providing them with any real features unless they pay for them. 2. This business about SwtoR going free to play is being blown out of proportion. the only thing anybody said was that they are looking into the F2P business as a potential avenue if it becomes more profitable. its no wonder the devs don't tell us anything, this retarded community takes anything any kind of Bioware/EA employee says, twists it, and tries to turn it into some thing its not.
  6. In response to your sig... When nobody knows nothing, Everybody knows something. I don't have anything constructive to add to the thread other then I trust BioWare will get it right.
  7. You are right, look at LoL, there a reason the term ELO hell exists. you could be the best pvper, Lol player, Gamer in the world, and still get held back by the people who have no idea what they are doing in the game but still insist on qing solo.
  8. Apples and oranges man You went from what is considered to be a AAA MMORPG to a hack and slash dungeon crawler and expected to to get the same type of satisfaction? You cant compare the 2 games fairly.
  9. 26 days. If Bioware was smart they would put everything else on hold and get the servers merged asap. I don't care about Ranked war zones, or LFG tool, because both of those things will be useless on the servers in their current state. My account runs out in 26 days (free month time), and if I am not transferred onto an active server by then, bioware will lose my sub for the foreseeable future. Oh, and don't think that I will re subscribe just to take advantage of server transfers. If I am unable to transfer my toon to the available server of my choice without having my card charged another $15 I wont even bother. I cant believe they are willing to let this game sit how it is, never mind expect people to pay for at least another month of this game in its current state.
  10. Its a sad trend, but the massive is slowly being sucked out of the modern day MMORPG. Here's the evolution that I have experienced first hand. Ever Quest: I was only in a hand full of raids in this game. Naggy, CT, and I was lucky enough to tag along for a AoW kill once. The raids, as far as i could tell, were unlimited in size and the more people you had the better. I might be wrong about the size limit, but i was an EQ noob and still kind of am. it was my first into into MMO raiding, and it was FUN! After I fell off of EQ, I kind of floated from game to game, never really getting too involved, but i spent time in DaOc, City of heroes, A free title here and there, never really settling down until i came across a little game called EvE online! Eve Online: one massive server... No reason to split up the community, everyone plays together... So awesome. Eve's fleet battles.. unlimited Fleet size... hundreds of people fighting each other at the same time... Eve is the definition of Massive, and it is good. Eve has its strengths, and i commend it on its success and wish it nothing but the best in the future. I would still be playing eve if not for one thing. Along came... World Of Warcraft: My Ever Quest guild rolled together into WoW. Wow didn't have the limitless raid size, but it did have 40 man raids. 40 man raids were amazing. Guilds were Huge, There were always people online to do things no matter what time of day because guild were hundreds of active people big. You needed a large pool of people to pull from if you wanted to fill 40 man raids 3-5 nights a week. This was the law of the jungle for years, until wow mad what I would consider the biggiest mistake to date. They dropped the raid size from 40 down to 25/10... guilds that were tight nit groups of 50-60 players all of a sudden had to bench 15 of their raiders and guild mates. Sad times indeed followed as guilds that were together for years seemed to dissolve over night. It was no longer required to have a large guild. 40 man guilds broke up into 10 and 25 man guilds, and the community seemed to split up and compartmentalize. I to this day am in touch with 60+ members of my original wow guild through a group on face book. After 7 years of World of Warcraft, i felt it was time for a break from it. Swtor launched, and with it came yet another shrink in the raid size. 25/10 mans became 16/8 mans. Smaller guilds that broke apart if someone breathed on them too hard. Raid groups that couldn't run because one person was Mia one night and there were no other guildies online to take their place. unable to recruit new people because servers are completely dead. This is the sad state of the Modern Not so Massively Multi-player Online Role playing game. TLDR - Everquest has massive raids and guilds... Eve Online has massive raids and guilds... World of warcraft had big raids and guilds but now has small raids and guilds... SWTOR has Tiny raids and guilds... Games have been getting smaller as time goes on and and its sad.
  11. I made another thread for the simple reason that the original thread specifically asks us not to go off topic. Any answer that is not giving suggestions on planets that you want to see added to the game would have been off topic...and here we are.
  12. That's the wonderful thing about diverse communities, there are often people with differing opinions. The true strength of a community can be found when everyone is free to express their opinion without fear of persecution. I stated my opinion in my OP, And while i know there are people who see it differently, that's not gonna stop me from posting it. And shame on you for using a Star Trek reference on the Star Wars boards! We don't take kindly to your kind round here! Then why not ask: "We have stories lined up for planet A, B, C, And D! Which one would you rather see first?" James Ohlen is the director ( and a talented one at that), I want him to direct the story, not ask me what direction I think the story should go in. Ever seen Steven Spielberg ask the general public in what direction his movies should go in, and yet, his movies are almost all crazy successful. He knows what hes doing, and people flock to his work like flies to a pile of bantha fodder. Oh, and remember that survey that Ridley Scott put out a few years back asking the public what Prometheus should be about? I guess since he didn't ask us, we shouldn't go see it... My point is, I want them to put out a story that they designed and prepared for us. BioWare is rather good at that, its one strong point this game has going for it, and I would rather it not be influenced by the people on the forums for obvious reasons. You would be satisfied with a story so generic that it doesn't even matter where its taking place? Then why even add new planets? I'm sure there's some canyon on Tatooine or some mountain on Alderan where they can have the next chapter of our story unfold if that's the case.
  13. I am making this thread in response to James Ohlens recent feedback request. The question put forward to the community was: "What planet in the*Star Wars*universe do you want to see in*Star Wars: The Old Republic that is not currently in the game?" In the original thread found here: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=441841 There were very specific instructions not to go off topic so I am making this thread because my answer to the question would not be allowed in the original thread. And my answer is as follows: Why are you asking us? Don't you already have a story that you want to tell? Isn't the story detailed and exciting enough to continue to earn our $15 a month? Or is the story so generic that it can take place on any old planet, and you would like to know what planet we would like to see the story take place on so we will continue to pay the $15 to see it there? BioWare is a company that has built its reputation on providing gamers with immersion and exciting story based RPG's. This is your company's strong point, and seeing a question like this pop up is a little bit jarring. It shouldn't matter what planet we want to see in the game, what matters is the story you want to tell. You are lucky to have one of the Best IP's in the world to use as a backdrop to tell your story, and no matter what planet you choose, it has the potential to be AMAZINGLY EPIC, But don't adjust your games back drop to fit our expectations, adjust your game backdrop to fit your story. You did so well with the class stories, and the leveling experiences was second to none. The voice work was better then I had expected, and if you can keep the quality in the future, I will line up to but the expansion for the opportunity to level some more. This game has so much potential, I just hope the other departments can unlock it before its too late.
  14. And in the end bioware has nobody to blame but them self. People knew that the servers would level off eventualy, but they caved into the pressure and it has come back to bite them in the ***. They should have never opened more servers and they should have put the population in its place. when developers listen to the fan base, we all suffer. they now have the chance to redeem them self. merge server back to the original number and provide us with a lively place to play, this would be a huge step in the right direction.
