  1. Honestly not familiar with current WOW. but every server in SWTOR has a PVP and PVE instance today and you can swap instances via your PVP toggle. to the point of your original premise, I do not think an expansion that is focused on open world PVP would "revive the game". back in the day I only played on PVP servers like Jung Ma or Harbinger or POT5. even on those servers where they were labeled PVP you had many people constantly complaining about open world PVP. every PVP encounter was "ganking", etc. I enjoy open world pvp and would be interested in what you suggest, however I believe that the majority of the current player base likes things the way they in regards to the current state of open world pvp being essentially non-existent and easily avoided.
  2. as long as EA has the license to SW (exclusive or not) and as long as swtor can be profitable I believe it will stay active.
  3. Since my Fang God Form was taken away when 7.0 launched and this is a replacement for FGF, do I get this shard of mortis for free?
  4. This is the unfortunate truth of letting players choose their own WZs at this stage of the game.
  5. wow that sucks; so sorry you got stuck in an Odessan WZ.
  6. now that weapons and by extension color crystals are part of the outfitter, I wonder if changing the stats on crystals will be revisited. releasing +41 color crystals in the cartel market painted them into a corner and was one of the reasons +41 has been the max crystal since launch. Adding weapons and crystals to the outfitter at lets us use our existing crystals to get the colors/cosmic value of the current crystals should they want to add a higher level crystal.
  7. I the second half of the 2.xx era I feel was best. there may have been some broken hybrid builds but for the most part I recall it having some of the better class balance.
  8. Class trainers really serve no purpose anymore. Back at launch you did have to visit the trainers to learn new skills or even level up a skill. very similar to a myriad of other games. in the current game in the 7.xx era, abilities are granted to you as you level up in accordance with the ability tree for your combat style and spec. just go to the combat style tab (or hit K) to see the abilities and what level you get access to them. the planets that had trainers ( the base game, Makeb, etc) still have the trainers despite their irrelevance in todays SWTOR.
  9. there is so much insane mobility; that they added the crazy amounts of roots and slows to act as the counter. any reduction in the roots and slows would have to be accompanied by an equal reduction in the mobility.
  10. I thought the OP was talking about the merc/commando class not scoundrel/operative
  11. might help to tell us what spec you are playing, what tactical are you using.
  12. before the big merge of servers that left us with only the 2 NA servers they did cross server queues within certain clusters of servers. would it be useful to do cross server queuing again?
  13. great changes all around; I will be interest if there will be any other adjustments to PVP weekly quests. as we know, today the weekly is 3 wins. so will it be 9 points to complete, 1 point for loss, 3 points for win? or will there be another adjustment to the total points.
  14. I know that not everyone wants to play all 4 class stories; but since I have played all 4 stories to achieve the legacy unlock for all the class buffs; I have not experienced any of the bugs related to the class buffs.
  15. Got it; the so called quote from Musco doesn't exist and you just made it up and named dropped him because you think it furthers your argument. Snave is correct; you are just a troll.
  16. this has less to do with the death matchers or damage farmers than it does that I despise certain maps (vandin HB and Odessan); but I would like to see the deserter debuff be eliminate for those that leave before the actual match starts. you get 90 seconds to 2 minutes from queue pop to the actual match starting to allow everyone to zone in. Players leaving before the actual game starts should be spared from the deserter debuff
  17. you are the one touting what was supposedly said by Musco; not him. either provide a link to it for context or stop making it up to support your asinine arguments
  18. I wouldn't my breath hoping for class changes or balance changes for a while. 7.1 at the earliest but I have my doubts it will happen then
  19. How long ago? was this when the PVP population was a lot larger than today? perhaps even at a healthy enough number that matchmaking could work? Does something from Mr. Musco from several years ago still apply to today? there could easily be changes to the matchmaking and other systems in place that are contradictory to the statement from "some time ago" that you are holding on to. and there are just as many pre-mades out there that frankly are not very good as there are pre-mades that are actually good.
  20. that actually was a constructive comment and I would be willing to bet that like myself, steve has been on PTS and has tested the current build and knows how it currently works. you can very easily find out for yourself the answer to this question
  21. this is hypocritical. you claim that those that have expressed a different point of view don't have any evidence to support their position. but guess what; you have presented no empirical evidence either.
  22. for some perspective on leveling in todays SWTOR. I started a new republic character; leveled only through class missions and planetary story missions. I was level 62 or 63 before leaving voss. I am not done yet; but I am guessing I can be very close to 80 by the end of Yavin.
  23. I will not likely be adding any feedback that you havent already had. Adding a weapon to the outfit designer worked as I expected it would. it was easy enough; took just a couple clicks once I found the weapon in my bank. my biggest complaint is how the weapons are addressed when switching combat styles. I strongly prefer the idea that outfits and weapons have their own, individually activated tabs. when playing Mara/Sent I might want the outfit but just swap from gree lightsabers to vibroswords, then maybe cathar honor swords, etc. if the 2 are separate functions I can mix and match the saved appearances as I see fit and both can be saved as part of the loadout. Bottom line; there needs to be a fix related to swapping combat styles that doesnt cost players any currencys
  24. to answer your questions: 1) all Mara/sentinel and DPS Jugg/Guardian will grant you the same gear; regardless of spec. you can however use any dps gear from any of your other characters 2) I think it is not quite accurate to say one version of 326 gear is "better" than another. but each gear source (PVP, Raids, Flash points, conquest) will grant gear with different stat allocations. PVP gear will for example give you less overall accuracy than FP or operations gear (IIRC I top out at 105% accuracy in full thrysian, no stim or augments). Conquest gear will give you more endurance and less accuracy, crit, alacrity, etc). 3) your spec does not affect the stats on the gear. so if you are looking at an upgrade on the vendor, the stat difference shown is the difference between the current piece and upgrade. a 326 pummeler's Thyrsian chest will have the same stats regardless of your class or spec. 4) yes; all gear is now Bind on Legacy and be used by any of your characters. the only exception is legendary items; those have a combat style requirement
  25. Awe/intimidating roar is one of the choices in the ability tree. the mirror combat styles have the same choices, but the choices are not always in the same order. for Jugg, I think the intimidating roar is the "default" choice or the middle of the 3 abilities and it is not for guardian. Both combat styles have awe/intimidating roar as an available option.
