  1. I have been with this game since the early days. And in that time, due to 3 part time jobs, college and now grad work, I've managed to get one character to Level 55 and one to Level 51. As soon as the preorder opened, I pretty much jumped in solely for the 12x XP as it would finally allow my long gestating Sith Warrior to move up quickly. Prior to this, he was at level 30. Now, he's at 49 and nearly 50. I also managed to up my Smuggler to 51 while he was previously at 25. My Agent is now in the mid 30s and I even started a brand new trooper who is at level 13 and has not even left Ord Mantell yet. I loved the side quests the first time. But my 55 Consular literally did ALL of the early missions and most of the side missions for the later acts. And my 51 Knight and Smuggler did the same. So I was rather way of going back as a trooper for a 4th round. But the XP really allowed me to focus on what I love- which is the story. I don't have time to do Guild Quests. I'll hop into PVP sure. But I've yet to do a single Operation due to my schedule. I enjoy the single player aspect of my class story and the character growth. I certainly hope another opportunity like this one is made available in the near future. Prior to this, I was seriously considering cancelling my subscription. This really got me back into the game these past few weeks.
  2. Have to agree. I don't enjoy paying for a product, first as a subscriber and then cartel coins only to have the product not work. If memory serves, I got this set from the hypercrate purchase which was close to $40 for the 24 pack. So that on top of a subscription fee means I and others have sunk quite a bit into how our characters look. It's not unreasonable to expect a quick fix for a very clear visual bug. Please resolve this quickly.
  3. Certainly true enough. But in most MMOs, changing one's appearance doesn't normally cost actual cash, just in game cash. It's really a ballsy move to do. Appearance changing is a part of the game. It keeps characters fresh and unique. But to actually charge players for being able to change their appearance just feels wrong morally. Legally? Nope. Perfectly fine. But morally, it just feels like a punch in the gut to players and it greatly devalues the idea of in game currency. There really is no reason changing one's appearance can't simply be expensive credit wise. If we have to pay 1,500,000 for a new species in legacy, surely it can just cost something like that (perhaps a little less: 250,000 for example) to change species and minor credits for minor modifications with major for major changes. That's really not an unreasonable request from players.
  4. Excellent point. And this is exactly why so many people are unsubscribing. They refuse to reward the failure that is this patch.
  5. That sums it up. My gear might as well be made of paper mache. I can still play, and heal. But my damage amounts to actually throwing pebbles at these players while they tear through my pitiful defenses, bubble or not, guard or not. And the pitiful amount of instant heal does nothing for me. And if I'm on cool down from a consumable, I might as well stand and die at this point. Forget trying to help my team. The only offensive ability I have that's making a dent at this point is spamming disturbance over and over. And one good heal from one of the other enemy healers negates any of the damage I spent far too long trying to inflict. If this were some green armor or centurion, ok. But to be going down in health this fast with armor that was supposed to be (at the time) one of the best for pvp? Not acceptable. Especially unacceptable when you keep in mind that every time my team loses, the others get to gear up even faster. So next time, I'm fighting them with even more of a gap. And now I need to grind twice as hard, stay alive and attempt to earn medals in an attempt to bridge this gap. Things were already unbalanced in PVP, but now,it's just plain broken.
  6. Respectfully, 10-49 is a different game. Please respond after leveling to 50 and you are geared with Battlemaster. It is becoming more and more obvious that I and other sages are a hindrance to our team rather than a help. Between the massive amount of interrupts and the massive amount of damage (literally I could only stand stunned as I watched my full health drop by 2000 points, then 300 then a few other numbers wizzing by, and then when I could muster a small instant heal, I was already too weak to recover from the next blow. This can not be the way the class should work. It feels as though my extra HP is a fake number. Battlemaster gear should allow me to survive a bit longer. And resolve should stop me from these unbelievably consistent stuns. It should not be so successive. If they want to nerf healing, fine. But make battlemaster worth the hours spent grinding for the gear. Raise our defenses if you won't raise our offensive abilities. Sages should not spend most of PVP healing themselves while their team dies or wastes time trying to protect us.
  7. YES. I always felt that we are a DEFENSIVE class. Our offensive abilities are not nearly as strong as our defense. And that's fine. That's what I wanted. But seriously, I might as well have my character run around naked because the battlemaster armor is getting cut through like a knife through butter. The absolute devastation these hits are inflicting upon me when I can't break a stun and can't heal fast enough and can't consume a medpack yet; it's frankly insane. I do not mind having the healing nerfed. But either increase the strength of our armor, give us more health or give us stronger damage so we can at least return fire. Let's be clear, I won my daily yesterday and I got some medals (averaged around 8) but maybe 1 was for healing. Absolutely no solo kills (as it should be). But my kill to death ration was far too high. And if this nerf was aimed at stopping the overpowering groups of healers, let me say that failed. Because if you have a group of three solid sages healing, with decent tanks or dps, then the sages will still put up a fight. BUT as individuals, where we were always the most vulnerable and weakest, we are going down far too fast and far too easily. And because this clearly seemed at fixing PVP, it's also made PVE a nightmare. I haven't even tried joining FPs yet because I feel I'm a huge liability now rather than an asset. I had a guild mate duel me last night. His armor is far weaker than my battlemaster stuff and yet he plowed through my defenses with only a few attacks. He was alarmed at just how gimped we are. I'm not one of those "fix it or I'll quit" people. I paid for 6 months, bioware gave me another free and I got a gift of 2 more from a friend. So I'm going to use it. But whether I renew will depend entirely on where these other patches lead. Once again, don't care about healing being weakened, but something else needs to increase to offset such a weakness.
  8. Frankly, I don't get the logic. The issue before this update was players quitting because they were losing. And so one would think the goal is to make players stay. Indeed, I'm seeing more players leave early after this patch when it's clear they are going to lose and likely get nothing for their effort. I think I'm going to focus on some alts for a while and see if BW addresses this issue.
  9. That's it exactly. 75% of the time it comes down to a bloodbath in the middle. Now, it'll be 90% of the time with 10% being the stealthers taking down a side while everyone else is dying in mid. I see a lot of teams sending two or three to protect their side turret while the other 5 go at it over mid until the enemy ship is destroyed. It's far too difficult to go any other way. The advantage of those side speeders was you could head to the other side without being easily spotted and sneak underneath. Now, you have to land and either go to the right side to the enemy turret or go to the left side. Either way, anyone in mid can see you land and which way you go. If you drop into mid to hit the right side, the enemy will attack you if your'e alone and you'll likely die. If you stealth, they'll likely just warn the turret team and send some reinforcements. Hence, everyone will fight to the death in the middle much much more.
  10. Actually, I believe many here have been saying that first the wz's must start with even teams. Lopsided teams should be stopped by bioware. Which seems a no brainer. A check to make sure 8 players from each side have logged in (or that each team is even if it's 6 v 6 or something). And second check to make sure warzone matches aren't queing for hours (up to 5 minutes should be the max and even that seems a bit too much). Second, people who play and quit (not disconnected. not join afk) should be penalized for leaving at that point.
  11. I'd agree in so far as they should not make the penalty too harsh. But something does have to be done sooner rather than later to stop the deserters. The Republic loses much of the time because one or two people quit when they don't score the first huttball win or lose the doors in voidstar or lose mid/left in alderaan. Imps do the same but generally have less reason to quit. For Republic, there have been a lot of matches with less than 8 players and those quitters reduce it to as low as 5. And at that point, we really do have no chance of winning. Similarly, I am sick and tired of being thrown into a wz that others have quit. I don't find that fair in the least. Not to the team. Not to me. I'd support not starting warzones until there are 8 players. That seems the fairest solution. Followed up by if someone quits (not afk or anything but actually quits after playing the start. Those who join after should not be penalized for the unlucky wz they were sorted into), they are penalized.
  12. He likes killing. But he also respects those who don't back down from fights and when you right a wrong. I'm playing a pretty goody goody sage and I've had a few -1 moments, but I've gotten plenty of +40 +50s for doing the right thing.
  13. It should. I'm running an ASUS Republic of Gamers laptop and the game is relatively flawless in terms of rendering and speed at the highest level.
  14. It's not unusual though. Plenty of example in the films of Jedi with long robes: Obi-Wan (Ben) Kenobi - ANH - First time we ever saw a Jedi Knight was a guy wearing a 'dress' Also: Agen Kolar/ Eeth Koth - TPM, AOTC, ROTS Plo Koon - TPM, AOTC, ROTS and Clone Wars Saesee Tiin - TPM, AOTC, ROTS and Clone Wars For Females: Shaak Ti Luminara Unduli Barriss Offee - dress at least. 15. Haven't gotten a hood yet, but I do remember them clipping terrible with my mask back when i rolled miraluka consular in october. And I only had the brown blindfold so I can imagine it looks terrible with the bigger hoods. This is one instance were the ability to customize appearance while still equipping armor would be very beneficial since the hood adds to your stats.
  16. I'll get my access when I get it. To those complaining "Worst. Marketing. Ever.": Play DC Universe online. You want to see bad marketing? That's a grand example. Poor communication, poor beta, poor release. Poor updates. Poor servers. I could go on. By contrast: Bioware had a simple Preorder code system (with DC you had to take a photo of your receipt and were not sure if it was even correctly submitted. Several never got access because of this). They promised up to 5 days early access (Always 'up to' in the advertising. Then they added 2 more days to give us 7. And so many of you are flipping out on not being in for day one). Beta invites were much better handled and communicated when compared to the DCU debacle. The servers on beta when I played had little lag. The whole game loaded beautifully compared to DC. The UI was better. It looked like a polished game. I refuse to waste time getting bent out of of shape for not getting my email on the day of. I preordered July 31st, but I didn't activate my code until early august. But I waited this long for the game. I am wait still longer. I know my money is well spent. I have seen a polished game. I have seen evidence of great communication throughout this time. And I am certain that customer service will be better. For starters, when I had a bug in beta, I received in game help. Something I never got in DCU. And I'm not interested in leveling up to 50 right away. I intend to take my time and enjoy the game fully. Many who are angry are still going to level up faster than me and play til their eyes bleed. They'll certainly catch up to more than half of those allowed in early today. The holidays are nearly upon us and true to the new holiday spirit, most everyone just wants everything right away. Forget that good will towards men stuff. Looking forward to seeing everyone in game shortly.
