  1. "OR needs to be in EVERY legacy unlock. Legacy level X OR 5mil credits (or whatever). Thats the whole POINT of the legacy system (i thought). You raise your legacy level just like you would any level, you advance through the levels and gain access to certain abilities, bonuses and benefits. Some of the legacy unlocks, i can tolerate, things that cost under 10K? fine.. thats not all that big a deal, but 100K and up? thats just unacceptable. You have to work hard to get your legacy level to some of these ranks, and then you also have to lay out credits, basically doubling the work you have to do. I can only feel its an attempt to drain credits out of the economy and i (hope) they didn't think it was totally reasonable
  2. More options. Why can i only have one option on either direction? Why can't i have a fan of connections all around my character, instead of like 3-4? Different/more connections. Why can't i just assign a connection line, pick an icon, then just put in a text box what this connection means. "Cousin" "Apprentice" "Lover" "Spy" "Old Friend" instead of the ones we have, which are pointless anyway because you can't see what the label is you just have to remember what the icon means Connecting with other people. Right-click, apply to link legacies, they say okay, and you can add in where you want their characters to go. Then they approve it and bam, you've just connected your legacy to someone else. As it stands, the restrictive connections (in amount and type) ruins any sort of varied race group. Not to mention the whole thing is entirely pointless since as far as i know there is no way for anyone else to see this legacy tree so it is entirely a masturbatory exercise and does nothing for anyone but yourself, and even then it means nothing and isn't even fluid, its blocky and restrictive. I'm actually fairly disappointed (for me the best part was the UI manager, how sad is that?), the legacy unlocks are underwhelming (and most cost far too many credits), the legacy tree itself is pointless and a waste (how long did they actually spend on that? seriously..) The unlocks for maxing a race to 50 are okay, unless you happen to have two of one race and since you're locked to 8 characters you'll have to delete on to complete other races and.. yeah. Underwhelmed. its not awful but i see a lot of wasted potential i hope they build on. Connecting legacies with other players, better legacy connections, a better tree. the one we have now is really awkward, it needs to be more free, click and drag where you want things, then click between two portraits to create a connection, then name the connection whatever you want, as is it, its very awkward and blocky and restricted. But like i said above, its entirely moot because no one but you can see it anyway and it doesn't connect to anyone but your own characters so its entirely an internal thing. I just had to also comment on this. "Why should i play a character i don't really want to play" The answer is you shouldn't. Making character classes fun to play is paramount, but more than that, you can't make everything something everyone loves. What you shouldn't be doing is grinding through class stories you don't even like just so you can buff the hell out of the character you DO like. If you like all the classes and class quests, thats cool, go nuts with it. But at the same time, that doesn't mean that you should use those classes that you don't like as a treadmill to grind buffs. This has the side effect of basically meaning if you have the time and inclination to spend hours and hours grinding (and it IS grinding if you don't really want to do it) a whole class to gain (in those examples) incredible advantages. That seems to go against the spirit of the 'fun of the game', when it just becomes a chore, and a job to grind out levels on a character you don't even like for end-game bonuses.
  3. it could just be early art assets, that is, at some point there was a model that looked like that and it was used for the loading-hints and was never changed later in development.
  4. I assume (Note, assume) That like all other legacy bonuses that originate from the character these are tied to the account, and not the character in question. Think of the options as a tick box in your account server-database. Everything starts unticked but as soon as you got that level 50, it got ticked and regardless of the characters your delete that tickbox will stay on. Same thing as if you delete ALL the characters on your account, on that server, your legacy and everything attached to it will remain the same until the end of time. That legacy is always going to remain (and update) regardless of the characters on the server (unless you move the account to a new server like with the AP transfers)
  5. Thats what i was thinking, i would have thought that they would have opened up at least a couple of servers for a lot of the transfers to go to, people who didn't have a lot of people on one of the servers, ones tht just wanted to play on a local server. But the server transfers have to be submitted within one week (by April 24, 2012, 2:01PM EST) so obviously they aren't going to be bringing out any new servers for it and you can't exactly wait to find out. I find it strange to see the servers under 'Heavy Load' during peak times, but they are just letting the influx of transfers go to those servers, it seems a recipe for long queue times, and then they might bring out new servers, but its too late by then. I'll probably end up transferring SOME characters, like all my empire characters to be on the safe side, but it still seems silly. I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed this or if i was just being overly cautious
  6. I searched around for this but either its lost or i just can't find it.. or i'm the only one thinking about it. With only three AP servers, and (apparently) a lot of people really excited to move, myself included, i have one small question, and concern. often i see the servers as 'heavy load' or 'very heavy', since i've been checking it recently, and thats fine. but i've been told by people that the servers are sometimes FULL. If they are sometimes full already, and they are going to get a big influx of players, aren't they going to be full more often now? I don't want to transfer my characters over so i can play with all my friends only to find myself stuck in queues or something and not be able to play at ALL What do people think?
  7. I don't mind the new layout, what i can't stand is the COLOURS. I do a lot of work on computers, a lot of work for and on websites, and even when i'm not working and just surfing, going from dark backgrounds and light text, to white backgrounds and black text gives me a headache and makes it hard to read for any length of time. I'm actively avoiding the forums a lot not because i can't go back and forth too much.
  8. So, i know this is my fault, i didn't really think it through i guess, but i feel its pretty poor that in transfering servers you lose your guild, and thus your guild bank and thus the 600,000 credits it cost you to get it. Assuming i'm right (anyone feel free to correct me) but since you lose your guild i'm sure you lose your guild bank as well. Can anyone confirm is this is the case? I'm sure it is but i've been wrong before.
  9. I totally agree.. If anything i can't understand why you can't have your own tags. Why have pre-set options and not just an input box to put your OWN tag as to what they are.. Define an angle of the line (there is only up and down? ***?) and say "Apprentice" or "sibling" (or better yet, brother or sister) and so on. I was setting mine up, it was kinda fun.. But then i reliased you can only have ONE 'line' of connection, once you connect to either side you can only make children? Seems silly. Also.. personally if i asked for anything for the legacy tree? I want to be able to add other players to the three. Click on them, say 'add to legacy tree' (not the legacy itself, just the tree' So i can have connections to more than just my own characters (which seems kinda moot) and with other people i'm playing with. I have a friend and we have a little storyline going. I'm level 50, she's working up towards that level. So she's playing the apprentice (which is an options we want like you said), but she can't go on the tree, so the tree is only useful for your own characters and no connections to other people, which is a shame.
  10. Why not make it the same as it takes to make a guild. Why does it have to be 12, and not 6? Is it purely so you can't just use a bunch of alts from one person and thus get the bank? I just don't get why its 12 instead of six, me and my friends can make a guild but not have a bank because we need more people so we either make more alts (making the whole thing moot) or we don't get one? Just stupid.
  11. I believe it was, which is a little annoying since i just bought my level 50 one but, whatever, there are bigger issues (guild bank being ridiculous is just one of them)
  12. The guild i'm in is made up of about 5-6 people who play on and off during the week, most aren't even level 40 yet. 600k just to have a guild back AND you have to have 12 people in your guild. Thats a big harsh isn't it? Even without the 600K, we can't do it anyway because we don't have 12 people in the guild, even with alts its only about 8. I suppose we could all make a bunch of alts to put into the guild but that sort of makes the whole thing kinda silly, doesn't? Whats the point of putting a limit on the amount of people in your guild? What, my small 6-man guild isn't GOOD enough for you to give me a bank account? Totally ridiculous
  13. Count Dooku was PRETTY evil and all he looked was old.. Besides we're getting off topic here a little. If you have an on/off switch, why shouldn't there be a slider? or something to customize it at least. You cant' say "well if you're evil you have to look that way" because you can just turn it off. Plus not ALL the sith looked like that either. In fact it seemed that the MORE powerful the sith the more they were able to retain their look and NOT let the dark side of the force corrupt them physically. Asajj Ventress for example didn't look all veiny and horrible. Its really a visual choice. SOME sith did, because they were supposed to look horrible and evil, others didn't because they were supposed to look awesome or cool. (there is a red twi'lek whose name i forget ((talon?)) who was also pretty evil and didn't look like she was popping veins everywhere.)
  14. I don't care about it being on my phone, i don't need it to be mobile. I just want a way to be able to check the LEVEL of my crew skills, so i don't have to keep logging into different characters to see what they are at. It would also be nice to be able to check my current gear on other characters so i can compare it to the things i'm crafting on another. I would like to be able to see what my Inquisitor is wearing while on my Juggernaut so i know if what i'm crafting is better or worse than what she is wearing. Or when i'm on my Bounty Hunter i would like to see what mods my Marauder has on his chest piece so i know if i can make something better, and so on. Being able to do this would be amazing and would help a lot, being able to see the skill level of the crew skills on various characters would be good as well. LOTRO has a version (mylotro) that lets you see what you're wearing, what crafting skills you have and even what quests you most recently completed
  15. I hope people also realise, in addition to the global cooldown, in pretty much all MMOs (so i would assume this one too) the animation doesn't have any real effect on timing. Firstly i'm pretty sure that all animations are quicker than the global cooldown, also, you'll notice that the effect (damage) happens when you press the button, not when the animation finishes. I would be absolutely shocked if the Sentinal animation (if it is actually slower) makes you take longer to use abilities at all, even without taking into account the global cooldown.
  16. There is an exception to every rule. This is sort of the point. I would rather look like Satele Shan than wear 90% of what is available. And i admit, you have to cater to a lot of people because, hell, if you don't, you lose some of your subscribers and you have to make everyone happy. But this game is the first game i've played (Post LOTRO) that makes me feel like i should he able, that I should be catered to, the group i'm in, is the one that will be more vocal, and will get more subdued, classic, reasonable outfits, instead of the big flashy WoW type armour. If you gave me Darth Maul's sith robes.. i would never, EVER wear anything else on my marauder. What to give it some red or silver accents? Maybe some subtle plat-looking pieces on the chest, half shown as it is UNDER my robe? sure, thats cool, jedi worn armour during the clone wars. But subtle SUBTLE is the word here.. I would always wear that, and nothing else. My agile, flipping, high-kicking Marauder looks kinda weird in his skirt and bulky coat.
  17. I would actually be very VERY curious to see how things change from concept to models.
  18. Just a little update with another example about what i mean. I'm on Voss right now and i've been wearing my old armour for awhile, its pretty cool looking and if you've been reading the thread i linked it above. Well i just found some new amour and its some of the best i've seen in a long time. I'll show you why below, but i'll also explain. The old stuff i have been wearing for so long is the Prototype Dantooinian Military suit, its not bad, it has a cape and no huge shoulder pads I recently found the ZRS Equipment Flak Jacket MKII, which has nothing to do with the other one and its certainly not 'force user' sounding, but it looks VERy similar, almost identical, but it LOOKS GOOD. Of course its BLUE, so i'm going to lose it eventually and i can't keep it, and thats lame, but let me explain a little more. HERE is what i have been wearing for ages. It looks okay, its pretty good, even if i would LOVE a hood, it does have a cape, so its half way there. The main problem with this is i have to wear a skirt (Agile Judgement Leggings, so Orange, and thus, kinda needed until i find better orange pants, which i haven't seen. So its not too bad at all. HERE is what i have now. Notice the gold/red thing down the front? I saw that and i was amazed, because thats what i WANT, and have wanted for a long time. Because if i could just have pants, it would look like i had a sort of tunic/robe thing over pants instead, its not just a chest pierce, its obviously an undershirt with an armoured piece on the shoulders and down the front, all the way towards my knees. THIS is what it looks like without my hideous skirt on (sexy right?) so.. what i need are some good armoured(ish) Red/gold pants to go with it right? Well, i haven't seen a pair of pants in a long, long time. Maybe i'm just REALLY boring (its possible) but i would happily wear something like THIS even on high level characters SO close.. Edit: Sadly Jaesa just got her Assault Robes.. Now she looks like a helicopter.. Sigh.. Edit2: Also is it just me or is Voss by far the best planet? The Gormak monster things have GREAT texturing, by far better than most other things, even up close with the lizard-scale things, even the Voss-natives are like that, with the eyes? Amazing. Also the trees are some of the best
  19. Honestly, in a lot of ways, i think SO many armour sets would look better (and DO look better) with two simple changes. 1) Remove the head piece (which most people do) 2) Remove the shoulerpads. which unfortunately we can't do. So many armour pieces are cool but have HUGE useless silly looking shoulder pads sticking out. Darth Serevin, on Voss, for example, has a really cool outfit. Its all black underneath with a purple 'robe' over the top, with two lines of purple and belted across the front. Its a really cool outfit and WANT it, but it still has these big stupid useless shoulder pads that help NOTHING and would just get in the way of my awesome, flippy agile marauder. With that in mind, these build what i could consider an epic outfit i would love my marauder to wear. Watch out for the raw editing skills, they are kinda sharp. Serevin But you get where i'm going. Remove the shoulder pads (WHY.. shoulder pads.. why.. they don't look good at all, they would get int he way, they would be distracting and really think about it, they would be uncomfortable and awkward to wear..) and please, for the love of god let me wear pants. I know its harder, but let me wear pants, cut out he middle grey bit between the purple on his legs and show the pants underneath so i can see the purple robe parts, the 'sides' of the robe that fall past the belt move over the pants, like the numerous 'butt capes' you see on some armour. Don't get me wrong, i'm not totally unhappy with my character's outfit. Aside from the aforementioned PANTS issue. The shoulder pads i have are small and only stick out a little (even less and they would be touching my armour, making it a part of the armour, just a bulky armoured section and i would be completely happy). The bit on the chest, the big square is a little weird but not too bad and it has a cape (Cloak > Cape but its better than nothing) My gloves are cool, it all sort of goes together, though being forced to wear a skirt is sort of annoying, flipping around, leaping and kicking and running in a long skirt isn't as easy as i make it look.
  20. People have said it a couple of times now "i want the armour of X NPC" and i agree, but its the same in EVERY game, there is an item, weapon, armour set that NPCS run around in and we get NOTHING like that. I can only imagine because they A) don't want a million copies of this cool armour and B) don't want to have to make a bunch of different versions for the differeent races and body types but daaaamn.. Some of the NPC armour is so cool and we NEVER get stuff like that.
  21. I totally agree, as i said, i don't honestly think you can gain much of an idea about a person in PVP just from what they are wearing, especially in the small chance you get. Why can't we just look the way we want? I think it would make everyone happy. That way if people wanted to wear the ridiculously huge armour that makes it look like you're slowly being eaten alive by some sort of crab (come on SW lore librarians, get the reference..) and those that don't, can wear some sort of cosmetic over the top. I'd LOVE to keep my Sniper in my imperial uniform, or at least have it around for when i'm on dromand kass or running around town. It seems to me that the VAST majority of Star wars images are of people, sith, troppers, jedi, bounty hunters in somewhat minimalist outfits, robes and light armour and cloaks and hoods and so on. Occasionally you'll get someone in a ton of armour or some weird creation of sith sorcerery, but most of it is light and flowing with carefully placed or hidden armour. Even the guys in the intro videos are mostly in light or some sort of mix of plated armour. Some of the images i've seen of end-game armour just makes me think i'm playing WoW, or one of those games, which is fine for the more cartoony, over the top fantasy games but thats not what star wars is about. I don't remember seeing much so crazy as that in the KOTOR games either.. Edit: Some of the examples aren't terrible, its about SCALE. Instead of two foot spikes coming out of my helmet, how about six inches? how about four? Instead of huge shoulder-pads sticking out three feet in either direction, how about just a few inches? I get it, i really do, you won't be able to see the shoulder-pads, or the head-spikes at a distance if they are so small, or if you have a small monitor i guess (but it would have to be pretty small). But the point is, you SHOULDN'T.. I don't need everything scaled way up so i can see it at a distance, i'll see it if i get in close, because as it stands, at a long distance, you can see the modules a bit better, but up close it looks terrible, i'd rather it be the other way around. I'm so glad the weapons are (more or less) reasonable, some are a little big, and the lightsaber hilts are a little bit too, but i get that if they weren't you wouldn't see them, but the weapons are well done, now we just need to get the armour scaled down to match.
  22. No difficulty at all. (at least, not in the long run). Again i'm going to reference LOTRO here. LOTRO introduced the 'Cosmetic options' a long time ago. It gives you a whole different paper doll to apply your cosmetic armour to, then you click a button and you look like you're wearing that armour. Like i mentioned above, it lets you pick armour you LIKE, which is sometimes lower level armour, and still get to use the stats you NEED. Now, do you know what happens when you go into their PVP area? All your cosmetic armour disappears and suddenly you're shown in the gear you're actually wearing, because cosmetic armour doesn't work in PVP areas. This is why cosmetic gear is SO amazing, is it more work? yes. But it does solve the problem. Also, i don't PVP a lot (see, pretty much at all) so maybe its different for others, but even if i had the time to really look at what people were wearing, and not trying to.. not die.. but i wouldn't be able to look at someones gear, and then immediately gauge their stats or abilities enough that i would know enough to get some sort of mechanical advantage. Even if it was just them in heavy armour (you can always restrict the cosmetic choices to the same type of gear, light, medium, heavy, etc) it probably wouldn't help ME much.
  23. Actually, what they need (More work! More work!) is a button you press on you character pane that puts the hood up and down (and a button to hide/unhide the helmet too, i know you can do it but it takes at least three menus to get in and out and it breaks the flow). This way when you go into town or something, the hood goes down, then it goes back up when you're in the field, or maybe it just looks bad and you don't like it. My Dark Jedi is more evil than my imperial agent, and it shows. He needs that hod to hide his face. Of course, if i remember, i don't think twi'leks get hoods because it messes up the lekku, i'm wearing the same robe as a twi'lek jedi and her hood is down, but mine is up.
  24. Darth Vader is about the only thing in that list that i would consider 'flashy' and even compared to most of the end-game stuff its pretty tame. I would certainly not consider flat-white armour of the stormtroopers flashy and Fett just worth what amounted to Mando armour and that would be amazing to have something like that for the bounty hunter as opposed to some of the stuff.. But maybe i'm boring because i want to keep the Imperial Coordination Prototype jacket for as long as possible because it makes me look like the imperial space-nazi that i am. The only thing i worry about is that i'll end up having to change my BLUE imperial coordination leggings which match because they aren't orange and it will eventually break the style of the full-uniform that i have going. And that will make me sad.
