  1. Dude...1 50...that's all that's required for this promotion. It's been 4 months. I'm in no way hardcore...I very much consider myself to be a casual player...but I've leveled 2 50's in that time and yes I am an altoholic (14 characters across 3 servers). In this game that is not "fast".
  2. Yes, certifiably so...can we have some more slots now?
  3. More slots please...don't care how...unlocks in legacy system...micro-transactions...doesn't matter. I've filled my slots on my primary server...and I have 4 republics on another server where my guild isn't nearly as active..so I'd much rather reroll my republics on my primary server where I play all my imps. I see no reason for me to buy a second account to do this...I don't want to play multiple characters at the same time in this game since I have my companions. I have 2 accounts in Guild Wars that each started at 4 character slots each...through various campaigns/expansions and the option to buy additional character slots both of those accounts are up to at least 15 characters each. I do, however, find it useful to have two accounts running at one time in that game. In City of Heroes I have like 30 characters across 3 servers...again because I added character slots. Only have 1 account there. I can easily see myself using up 16 slots eventually...and probably more than that for various reasons.
  4. I don't know about Qouivandes, but I went through typing classes in grade school...so I learned to type without looking and all that (for our tests they covered our hands with towels)...using the home row (asdf jkl;). So it's very easy for me to use the keys around the home row keys. I think it is more efficient (I could be wrong, I'm no expert) since I don't have to switch a finger to a different button to go backwards or forwards. edit: why waste time on backwards? well sometimes you need it...and since I play a healer most of the time, it's important I make sure I'm still able to hit my healing targets with rapid shots. Better to have a backwards button than force yourself to turn around and run forward...especially when there's that annoying mouse movement glitch that sends the cursor off in a random direction. The less I have to move by mouse the better. I initially tried WASD...but just couldn't get used to it...so I reverted back to the home row and never looked back.
  5. Only other person I've ever seen use the home row like me in all my time playing games. Just seems more natural to use this setup. I use F1-F12 for my secondary hotbar...my G700 mouse for my most used 3rd hotbar skills...the exttra function keys on the left on my G110 keyboard for the rest of the hotbar skills. also have a G13, but I rarely use it in games.
  6. This x10...emphasis added I've only had one time for about 15 minutes where I felt the need to kill enemies to level up...and that was because I was having a little difficulty beating a quest boss at a level below them. I didn't feel like going to finish bonus quests that were still in my log at the time (felt too lazy to switch planets since I was so close to leveling).
  7. I have no subscription...so no I will not keep it up. I will however continue to buy game time cards. I'm thoroughly enjoying the game so far, and my guild is only scratching the surface of end game content right now.
  8. rofl...I initially had problems with that bastard on my sorcerer...but then I realized that I was a level lower than him. Went back and did the Hoth bonus series to level up...then went back and beat him at even level. You don't need more than you and your companion to beat him, if you do, you did something wrong along the way. And there is a LFG tool...despite all the deniers...it's just a poor man's LFG tool that needs to be improved drastically.
  9. Please add to the password reset system an email that notifies the account holder that their account password has been changed. Many services (including EA.com) do this and it is a security feature. If the password gets changed you are notified, if you didn't do it, you know your account got hacked and you can take appropriate action to protect your account. As is...you won't know if your password was changed until you try to login to the site or the game...and that could be several hours (or days for some) after the password was changed. Someone has been trying to get into my account and locking it out...they can't login because they don't have my security key. I only noticed this because twice this week I have not been able to login and had to do a password reset. I called up Customer Service this morning to see if any password resets besides the ones that I did had been performed...but the CS rep doesn't have that information...so there's really no way I can tell if my password has been changed or my account simply got locked out. This feature would allow me to know that my password got changed almost immediately (since I check my email regularly)...or in my case, that my login troubles were due to someone trying to get into my account, and that I have nothing to worry about regarding my password being changed. TLDR: Add a Password Reset Confirmation Email to let us know when our account password has been changed.
  10. This really sums it up for me...they wanted WoW market share. They tried to turn it from a nice little sandbox game into a themepark. 30+ classes (can't remember the exact number right now) was cut down to 9 classes, completely eliminating some classes, including my main's, Creature Handler (later they tried to reintroduce it, but I had already left). I had 3 accounts with all the expansions...including the last one that was released just prior to them announcing the NGE. I cancelled all three about a week after they introduced the NGE. I gave it a try, but I hated what it had become. I never knew what Pre-CU was like, but I loved what the CU was. It was the first MMO that I really saw myself sticking around for years with. I chalk up the reason they did this was because of the above, and that they listened to focus groups rather than their community. The community was blindsided by it.
  11. All I hear about while playing empire is those dirty filthy aliens the Republic likes recruiting...or how I'm so special because I'm an alien in the Sith ranks. So if anything it should be exactly the opposite. Empire is exclusive, Republic is inclusive. More correct, Empire, half the classes on the Empire side do not identify themselves as Sith. I'm a Bounty Hunter on my main and I'm as independent as you can get...I go where the money is. The Empire are evil bastards though, so they like offing more people...so I side with the Empire.
  12. As people have said...tell them to f off...you're paying...you deserve to see story as much as they deserve to rush through content and play it multiple times over for social points or gear or whatever. Either you'll get kicked or they'll just drop from group...better to find people who also want to experience the story. Best way to experience it is with guildies...some of them have seen it multiple times though and tell me to spacebar through...and they get the same treatment. It's always said in jest though...we're casual players..and we like the story. Just last night I was in mumble while our group of 50's was starting their run through False Emperor Hard Mode. They hadn't seen the story and told me to shut the hell up in mumble. I told them to switch to the damn Flashpoint room and get out of the general chatroom. They promptly moved With guildies (of course this depends on your guild) it's usually a much different environment...and you can get away with saying stuff like "screw you I want to hear the story".
  13. In real life yes...but this isn't real life. I play games for escapism. I can't be an evil bastard in real life so I do it in the game...just to have fun. I don't want to be a goody two shoes in game...because I'm normally a good guy in real life.
  14. Aww damn...I'm going to have to give this a try. Using this: http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/monitors/LS27A750DS/ZA I've tried it on a few games and my results are mixed so far...
