  1. Double post, please delete this one
  2. Just wanted to pop in and say thanks here for a moment. The new AoE skills for the scoundrel are just what I needed to continue playing my smuggler. It was a little tricky to find a nice rotation and good positioning is still important, but once I got the hang of it, both new skills make PvE life SO much more bearable. So yeah. Thanks Bioware.
  3. It worked for me, so maybe give it another shot? It took me a few tries as well. Costly in repairs and frustrating, but at least I got it done heh
  4. Fix for Consular - Sage: Use Phase Walk and set up a point right at the top edge of the stairs (right on top of where Arcann will move once you're locked down) After the bash, use Phase Walk (and make sure you have him properly selected as target - it seems you lose target after the whole root/stunning ordeal) You'll be right on top of him and able to bash right away without need for movement.
  5. Space missions are your friend here. PvP dailies also, if you like doing PvP. Otherwise, there's a bunch of flashpoints around that level (Hammer Station, Athiss, Mandalorian Raiders) that should help you in that gap should you feel like grouping. Some general advice: if you stay 1-2 levels above the 'intended' level for your class quest when you start a new planet, things effectively go a lot faster. When you finished a planet, look at the next one's requirement, do a bit of this and a bit of that in between.
  6. My experience so far with 5 characters 30+, 1 being lvl50: 1. If you solo without doing heroics, kill everything on your way to wherever you're going, do every sidequest, you should be perfectly on the curve. Always log out in a cantina for bonus xp. You can skip bonus quests if you fly a couple of space missions. 2. If you group a lot in heroics and flashpoints (while picking up the dailies for them, too), you can practically stick to your class quest and planet main quest without doing any sidequests or bonus series. 3. I'm currently testing a third way to go through the game which is PvP-focused; Meaning PvP + class quest + planet main quest + bonus series, filling in the gaps with space missions. So far it's working out great (lvl28) Effectively there is a LOT to do to fill in any gaps you may encounter. The trick is to un-focus from your class story once in a while and do something else than follow the beaten path. Granted, sometimes there's a little bump in the road, but it's nothing you can't overcome with doing space missions for an hour, which to me is a welcome change of pace once every while.
  7. Have a looksie here: http://www.swtor-spy.com/guides/swtor-pets/884/
  8. For emphasis I'm going to quote Tirfin. Especially the first paragraph.
  9. I'm not getting anything there either "Oops! Google Chrome could not find www.swtor-spy.com"
  10. My suspension of disbelief was thoroughly tested with Bowser. Still, I did like the BH story. It's cheesy, the characters are often cheesy (surthern cookie mom, hello!), but I kinda like cheese. A big difference may be that I'm playing mostly LS? I can imagine a DS BH having a lot more trouble dealing with the story.
  11. This rant *exactly* puts into words what I couldn't. The amount of facepalming and laughing of disbelief you described included. Mind you, when I reached the end of Dromund Kaas, received my ship, and got told by Lord Whasserface what we would be doing next, I quit the class. Enough to say that the prospect would include going into dark ancient tombs of one or another "I'm-so-evil-you-can't-imagine-Darth-or-Lord" to retrieve "relics-of-unimaginable-dark-power" Ugh, even my inner lunatic couldn't look forward to that anymore. I'm not Lara Croft.
  12. The launcher states that tonight is the deployment of 1.1.3, yes.
  13. I like to go against the grain. I'm also merciful and have a good heart, and I find it hard to be a *******, so I figured the smuggler would be my kind of class. But being against the grain as a smuggler more than often means choosing DS options, and I don't like to be a *******. And so I ended up going Empire where I, as a Bounty Hunter, could go perfectly against the grain while mostly making LS decisions, often sabotaging the Empire from within and making fun of those silly Sith. I plan to do the same with an agent. So do I like the Empire? No, not really. I do enjoy playing on the Empire side though.
  14. Nope. I naturally went lightside, even though I intended to stay neutral. I mostly made my choices based on what I would actually do RL, and Mako just agreed. By level 42 she was at 10.000 affection, and I've never given her a gift.
  15. Very, very sexist. But I'll give you some hints anyway. Think Commander Shepard. (The voice actually comes close to Jennifer Hale, though it's not. Jenny does the Trooper). Think Rogue from the X-men. Think Red Sonya (though that may be more of a Warrior). Think Ripley. Also, instead of human, think of making her a Rattataki. They can look pretty masculine and much harsher. Keeping in mind Rattataki are a very warlike species, and may fit your idea of 'hardass' more. If the above ideas don't get you off your sexist pedestal, just roll male.
  16. Effectively, this is about the summary of an Arsenal spec Merc for PvE. Until you have heatseeker missiles you just skip that step. Until you have Tracer Missile you use Power Shot instead. That's truly all there's to it. PvP however... ahhh, *then* it becomes fun. At least, if people know how to deal with your Tracer Missiles. If they don't, it's just another steamroll.
  17. Just yesterday, I figured I'd (just for shtsngiggles) rely solely on Tracer Missile in PvP. I got owned. Massively. 10 kills vs 18 deaths. (While I'm normally in the 30/3 range)
  18. I had the same issue with the quest "Smuggler's Moon", which basically leads you to the Nar Shaddaa Bonus Series. I could not abandon the quest, even though it was grey. While hovering the cursos over the abandon button however, it gave a mouse-over saying "cannot be abandoned *at this time*. When I had to be on Nar Shaddaa anyway, I figured I'd give it a shot and talk to the NPC I was supposed to talk to. I got xp for the conversation, mission was done, and I could abandon the 'bonus series' that popped up in my log after that. It doesn't make sense to do it like this I think, but if you're really stuck on that grey thing in your log, it may be worth a try.
  19. You know, all nerf/don't nerf aside... I'd be totally fine with a tracer missile nerf. The only thing I use it for is to apply heat signatures to use with heatseekers and railshot. The damage is only an added bonus. A handy bonus, I admit, but I'd still be pwning without the use of tracer missile. Really, it's not the tracer missiles that hurt you. It's the insta-cast skills that exploit it - and you have PLENTY of time to LOS, interrupt or CC.
  20. Actually... That would pretty much suck. It got a chuckle out of me, but seriously, the only time I use Tracer Missile in a Warzone is on unsuspecting targets (which are generally screwed when I do). For 1vs1, or against uneven odds, tracer missile is just too slow with too little effect - not to mention it's easily interrupted. A Merc relying solely on Tracer Missile would be outgunned in no time, and most certainly not top any DPS lists. For a Merc, DPS score comes from well-placed AoE's - not from a gimmick. That said, for people with no idea how to handle a BH that focuses on Tracer Missiles, this is probably funny.
  21. As a theoretical addition as a help to get orange gear: It's likely people play Warzones before lvl50 if they intend to PvP at 50. Simply use the WZ commendations on lvl40 PvP gear and update that set when at lvl50. If you spend 8 hours total PvP'ing throughout your levelling, you can have a complete set, purely with commendations. That still leaves out belt and bracers, but it's a great set, and often nice looking as well.
  22. Playing a Bounty Hunter, Merc, I agree here with you. I invite you to come spank me. ~blows kiss~ ... Ugh, that sounded so wrong on so many levels. I'm going to buy a new paddl-- wait. N/m.
