  1. The difficulty level of the process is irrelevant. You CAN'T have modern MMO PvP and a ladder system with a small pool of players. There is literally no other thing more important to the survival of PvP and the PvP player base besides this.
  2. I just wanted to share my reasons. The game is fun, fairly balanced, and has good combat. They finally released arenas so competitive PvP has a chance. The thing is: competitive PvP is a joke with such a small pool queuing. How can I climb a Ladder PvP system when I can only fight 2-3 rungs of that ladder at any given time, if I'm lucky. Or fight the same one team in long queues if I'm unlucky. If Bioware wants to nickle and dime people for haircuts, let them. I'm not going to pay anymore because they are too lazy/inept to implement the standard feature any competitive PvP MMO.

  4. Did you read his post? He said people will flock to it... and they will. I know I will... at least they plan to have arenas and cross server at launch. Better than 2 years(?) down the road and arenas just came out, and still no cross server with no dev discussion about it besides "omg it would be hard" I love this gameplay, my class, and star wars, but the thrill of rated gameplay is severely dimished when the ladder you climb in this ladder system consists of 2-3 rungs at a time. It's no fun fighting the same team over and over and over. Every thread I post in, or some complaint on the forum all I'm thinking is: CROSS SERVER WOULD AT LEAST MAKE THIS THREAD AND PVP MATTER
  5. I don't how know you can say that sentence in any serious way. If the weakest class at that role doesn't need a buff... what does? This made me LOL then feel confused that someone has that thought process on class balance.
  6. Why does it have to be full spikey squishiness with self heals or great mitigation with none? Why can't Sin tanks have near as good mitigation with some self heals to push it up? Balance it so mitigation+heals=full mitigation or even surpasses it but on an activated basis. Not just be lazy and get rid of heals entirely. Lazy development imo. It's always so black and white with everyone. It would be cool if they can shade it a little grey for balance and for class uniqueness and buff DR and keep some self heals.
  7. I disagree. In arena is when that little bit extra damage from the tank lands a kill, not the little bit of shield absorb, on top of your 2 dps.
  8. Not really, since the DoTs are required for any competitive damage with the other two specs, which have no other downside like cleanse that's relates to what annihilation suffers. Madness is getting that full cleanse protection.
  9. OMG yes please. It's required for annihilation to actually be viable. Love that spec, and I'm bummed that I can't play it in serious PvP without all my damage getting cleansed away.
  10. How does it work? Is it just a dps geared tactics trooper in ion cell? These seem powerful in PvP, and I like the idea of being a tank/dps hybrid. Just not sure how to put it together.
  11. Make annihilation/watchmen viable and I will switch to it. Any good team can counter the lol gore+ravage combo in carnage that is required to pull off the damage required to be competitive with rage. I love how elitist carnage players are. "OMG it's more skill based!" All that actually means is it's just a clunky spec to use in PvP, as well as seriously predictable and avoidable in it's damage. Watch for gore then CC or obfuscate=gg carnage. What you call noobish and easy in rage, I call reliable. In reality neither are hard and if you think doing your damage rotation is the skilled part of PvP you are dead wrong.
  12. I think it's pretty clear that operative healers are by far the best PvP healer. We can't just buff the other healers to that same god mode of heals. Bring merc/commanos up a little to be in line with sage/sorc, and take op/scoun down to be in line with sage/sorc. Because sage/sorc healers are pretty balanced, people just seem not to think so because scoup healers are the gods of SWTOR right now.
  13. It seems like every DoT spec in the game is ruled out in arena because of healers and cleanse. Annihilation, lethality, madness, etc. People immediately rule these out as possible arena specs because of cleanse. Doesn't that mean that healers cleanses are way too powerful? Wouldn't people like to see some variety, fewer rage marauders if annihilation can be remotely viable, for example. Why are cleanses so powerful that there is not a legitimate competitive DoT spec for arena? Some can do great in warzones and casual where they can have thier DoTs ignored, but if people all laugh at the idea of DoT specs in arena because of this doesn't that mean something should be looked at with cleanse? Having DoTs have no counter is no good. But as it stands now cleansing has no counter or downside making DoT specs jokes.
  14. This seems to be all about warzones, but what about ranked arena? Aren't you concerned with the effects of dots breaking different CCs and clense spams? I'm in the process of leveling a sniper now, and lethality seems the most fun but I foresee those being problems in arena, which MM doesn't have

Now I have to play combat with gimmicky gore+ravage and self root my self all the time, or I guess be another rage smasher. At the time when I left most marauders could own as annihilation in pvp.

  18. Yeah I don't get it. All the daoc and WAR players want meaningful RVR. Almost every PVPers likes open world. guild Wars 1 and WOW players love arena and hope that is in every game. I have almost never seen anyone who loves war zone/battleground/war front type pvp the most yet that is how they think this game will satisfy PVPers? how many posts have there been of people asking for RVR and posts for people asking for arena? it's a dead horse for a reason and that is because MMOs that want to have a PvP player base should have some or even all of this

Well maybe AAA MMOs will start to realize how many subs you will lose if you don't make PVP a large priority. bioware even said that they didn't know how important it is to players until a few weeks ago. Well hopefully the game doesn't die and I can come back someday to a game with a plethora of pvp content
  20. Yeah. They tried to make it more gear grinding and less or a competitive purpose for winning which didn't help either.
  21. yeah I wonder if it's too late? will they be able to salvage world PVP. can they have any RVR or arena and keep the PVPers? many people left. I am leaving. I want to come back I just don't see why I should with such a shallow PVP system. Even though I absolutely love the classes and the combat
  22. I am sad to say I cancelled my subscription. I like the PVP; I really do. But the same 4 warzones with long queues, dead open world, no RVR, and no arena are just not enough. I hope someday I can come back to this game and that on that day they have some abundant PVP content. Until they I will probably lurk these forums occasional and check out GW2 even though I didn't really want to(at least they have different kinds of PVP)
