  1. They either aren't aware of the class's problems or don't care. I'm not sure which is worse
  2. Full madness is the best for solo play and arenas due to it's kiting ability. Full lightning has the best burst but can't really get casts off in pvp so it is a bad choice overall. If you want a spec with decent damage and pressure I would suggest the 0/30/16 hybrid spec. If you are really trying to be optimal in pvp I would suggest another class, sorc has it's short comings. It just isn't a very forgiving class to play in pvp.
  3. It's easily accepted that sorc healers are the easiest to kill of all the healing options. Beyond that point no decent healer should die to a single dps anyway.
  4. Madness assassin will always be a top contender for underpowered and unpopular class/spec choice.
  5. The "melee" legacy abilities sadly hit harder than my sorcs thrash and saber strike. How exactly I can uppercut someone for more than I can slash them with a light-saber is beyond me. QQ
  6. Honestly as a pvper I've all but given up on the class and this game. Yes we've all heard about the amazing "sorc pros" that prove the class is fine but honestly I just don't see it. I just don't care anymore, I'm tired of beating baddies with my sorc who have all the tools they need to defeat me. It's really not that hard to counter a sorc if you know what you are doing and the fact that I'm going to have to wait 7 months just for a new huttball map is plain depressing. Thats nothing, nothing at all when it comes to pvp content. So I'm done, best of luck to you who still play. I hope your pve experience is better than my pvp one.
  7. I think the sage animations are cooler looking for the most part. The real advantage of sage telekinetics spec pvp though. Force quake isn't nearly as noticeable as force lightning. Disturbance (lightning strike) actually has a travel time so if you have a proc for instant telekinetic wave (chain lightning) you can cast disturbance and immediately follow it with telekinetic wave. Since disturbance has a travel time you can get the proc for telekinetic wave back immediately. Since lightning strike is instant this kind of combination is impossible. The only down side is that telekinetic throw (force lightning) ugly. Telekinetic throw is however much less noticeable in pvp. Honestly I would play my sage, but my sever is heavily imp dominated and so I have no one to pvp with on my sage.
  8. Don't worry they will just delete this thread and pretend nothing happened. IF they were going to stop bolster bugging, they would have a long time ago.
  9. no fix. use 46 hilt/mod/enhnace for your weapons. It will give you enough bonus damage that your static barrier actually holds some damage. It makes you feel like a real advanced class.
  10. no point. Even if you were as survivable as a op healer you still wouldn't have the CC and utility of the other healing options.
  11. No they definitely needed a dps boost, from a pve perspective and moderately from a pvp perspective. Their survivability still sucks either way, but it's better than nothing.
  12. Just bolster bug your weapons. you will have a lot more fun
  13. LOL I like how this is the only game where you don't need strategy to beat your opponent because they are most likely bad.
  14. They might have the damage potential now, and they have the survivability they need 1v1 but in a group setting they are still a poor choice. Nothing changed the fact that they are the easiest melee to kill, other than maybe maybe madness sin.
  15. I certainly wouldn't call madness sorcs a hard counter and using the basis that all sorcs are bad is a little biased don't you think?
  16. The following is a variety of scenarios, keep in mind that each opponent has his own tenancies and what your opponent decides to CC break can have a huge impact on what you should be doing. ---------------------------------------------------- Well to start off you need to ruin their opening burst as much as possible. You want to wait for them to use their electrocute hard stun first and CC break it. From this point you have several options, you can use your Mez grenade if you have one, you can mouse turn and use electrocute/over load. ( If you have a cybertech mez grenade you can actually spam it on assassin, if there is a break in time where you are not stunned/mezed the grenade will be thrown) If you decide to go with overload make sure to follow it up with force slow so that you can build up some distance. You want hold off on using creeping terror right off, keep force slow on an assassin instead during the beginning of the match. The idea is you want to bait a force speed. If you use creeping terror while during the time they use force speed it will stop a deception sin in it's tracks (works for all assassin specs). This will force the assassin to make a choice, he will either have to take damage while being stuck at range or he will have to burn force shroud to continue pressure. When the assassin uses shroud you have a few options depending on what your opponent does. If he shrouds then vanishes then you should use seethe because you drop combat when he vanishes. If you are stuck in combat for some reason use dark heal. The assassin will either mind trap you and then seethe to heal himself or he will attack. This may be a good time to use force barrier in either scenario, force barrier can break the mind trap mez if the assassin tries to heal. Force barrier can also ruin his second chance at damaging you if he decides to attack. After your opponent has used shroud he is at his weakest point. This is the point where I suggest you use polarity shift. (this is also a good time to use your mez grenade if you haven't already used it) - If the assassin has 40% or more health I suggest using force slow combined with the running speed of polarity shift. If the assassin uses force speed you can use overload or your own force speed to maintain distance. Once enough distance is created cast whirlwind and mez the assassin ( you don't need to much distance to do this, if speced for short cast whirlwind polarity shift will make you have a cast of 1.2 seconds making the only options to stop the cast low slash and electrocute.). Heal up using dark heal, you may want to use recklessness on these dark heals if your health is low enough and make sure to keep an eye on the whirlwind timer. Assuming the assassin eats the full whirlwind mez you place affliction on the target then cast lightning strike before the mez ends, followed by force slow. This gives you the most opening burst while still keeping creeping terror ready to counter force speed when the assassin uses it. Played out right the assassin will struggle to get back in range and when he does use electrocute and finish the target off. -If the assassin is below 40% health I suggest you use polarity shift and hit him with electrocute. Use recklessness and hit him with deathfeild followed by shock as you run away. After he breaks the electrocute stun or the stun wears off watch out for force speed. As usual counter it with creeping terror, you don't need to worry about creeping terror using up recklessness either. With the majority of his cooldowns wasted if shouldn't be hard to finish him off. ------------------------------------ General suggestions/Tips Overload is most effective when used on a target at range. Since overload is so weak it won't even take opponents out of the 10 meter range if they are in melee range already. Try to use this knockback while the opponent is in the 12-15 meter range to keep melee opponents from gaining access to their 10 meter range options. Creeping terror has a much lower cooldown than the DOT duration. Stay tactical about when you use it, you don't need to use it every cooldown in duel, that will just harm your damage and leaving you vulnerable when you might need it. Use force slow/CC and your instant casts to build enough distance so that you can get off casts of force lightning. You want to be at least 20 meters away before you start casting force lightning (doesn't necessary apply to low health or stunned opponents). You don't want to be in melee range ever so make sure you leave enough distance to stay out of 10 meter range. Always keep static barrier up, it is a great global option when you are building distance from a melee target under the effects of force slow or creeping terror.
  17. I believe the psychology term for this is learned helplessness
  18. No bioware definitely lies when it comes to pvp
  19. all that time and we might see one more huttball map for pvp? Well I'm certainly not waiting 6 months for one huttball map, GG pvpers
  20. Can't be worthless if it doesn't exist
  21. I suggest they lower sorc/sage armor so everyone can feel like they hit hard
  22. sorcs can make people pay more than any other class all while healing. Plus they can take infinite damage in force barrer. probably too OP
