  1. LIES!! Pure lies!!!!! Everyone knows that the Emperor is off in another galaxy in deep meditation! At least that is what my story told me, and that is the truth!
  2. Some pretty epic generalizations you have here.... How about the non WoW players who are MMO vets from back in the day? Or the people that just want a quality product? I also ask, why do people keep comparing SWTOR to single player games? If I wanted a single player game, I would go and buy it and not pay a monthly fee. I will also direct you to the left of this response and to the date at which I signed up for this community. I followed the development prior to this date even, and participated in beta. The entire time BioWare was pushing this as a game changing MMO. PAX 2011 focused on PvP and how "awesome" it is. The last thing BW did during development was say this game was just about leveling. They promoted everything as if it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
  3. How dare you come here with facts and information to back up those facts!
  4. To directly answer the question, it would give people an idea on what to expect at peak hours. I can also understand why they would have it reflect only current players. Either way it does seem that maybe the status isn't updating properly in the game client, which would explain the constant "Heavy" status on my server.
  5. I am not very sure on this.... The server I played on always had a "Heavy" status on it, even when we had under 100 Republic and under 200 Empire on.
  6. Misinterpret? You said "almost any standard status server....", what the hell is there to misinterpret? I would love to also know where you got your "Standard Status is 350", as far as I am aware BioWare has never released numbers.
  7. Are you high? I played on a "Heavy" status server and we had no where near the population that Fatman has. During peak times we had maybe 200 Empire and 100 Republic, if lucky.
  8. I have no idea what he was getting at either. I had my level 50 Juggernaut the first week of January, and that was taking over a week off to travel for holiday.
  9. After you install the drivers and create a Synapse account with Razer you get the code from them, I also believe you can go to their website and log-in to get it.
  10. Well you said this.... You have pretty damn strong emphasis on story, and fail to mention any other hook for the game.
  11. I got in day 2 of early access, on top of having gone through much content during beta. So from day 2 of early access to right now is slightly over 4 months, not 3. With how easy this game is and how much experience and money they throw at you doing questing, you can get through content quickly. Also having experience with the game systems and how it works from beta helped speed that along as well.
  12. Awesome, now what does "Light" "Standard" etc mean? I can tell you my server is a "Heavy" server and there are less than 500 people on the ENTIRE server at peak time. Was this an attempt to sidestep the topic? You said that BioWare stated from the beginning this was a Story driven game, I pointed out that if this was the case why would they have pushed PVP so heavily. What the player asked for or wanted isn't the point. The point is that if BioWare is leaning on this being a story driven game they wouldn't have given PvP the focus they did.
  13. Oh how you make assumptions! I have several level 50's and took the rest through about half the game content for their stories. After about the 4th time through everything blended together. The individual stories are not that different, as the meat and bones are the same quests on the same planets over and over. The only difference are the very short and specific class based discussions. Even then those differences are not that apparent after a few times through on different characters. Every class story boils down to..... Go to Planet X and talk to person in charge. Person in charge talks trash about opposing faction. Person in charge tells you to kill X bad guy(s), get X item, or clear X area. Repeat steps 2 and 3 a few times on planet. Person in charge tells you to go to next planet. Repeat all above steps. This is what EVERY class story boils down too.
  14. More specifically it is an MMO released at the very end of 2011 and going to have to prove itself in 2012. Further more, the system I described has been around for a long time, although I must concede it has yet to be implemented well in the past. Though that doesn't mean dynamic environments shouldn't be abandoned, but approached from another angle. I also find it amazing how quickly people, like yourself, seem to be willing to lay down and take whatever is shoveled at them. Completely ignoring the fact that the product being pushed is severely outdated and behind the times, or the fact that we have tech that can handle far better. Why is this generation so willing to settle for mediocrity or worse?
  15. Or even created a dynamic environment that changed based off of what players did over a period of time. In your example if enough players completed the quest in a given period of times the gangs moved away to another area. Or if enough players passed it by they would grow in number and further cause problems.... Something to make the world feel alive and not so dead.
  16. Don't worry, that sound is perfectly normal. It is simply the mass exodus of players as they run past you to unsubscribe. /trollface
  17. This thread is still going? Man! I figured a CS would have closed it now, but not before laughing at the OP.
  18. Ummm.... Yea it is. PvP is horrible and dead, end game isn't that great and nearly impossible to get a group for on the majority of servers. Right now this game consists of standing in fleet walking in circles like a sheep on one of your level 50s, or grinding an alt...... I don't say this to start an argument with you, but it is simply the current state of the game and why I unsubscribed.
  19. If this is their one claim and what they believe is going to carry their product for a long period of time, they should start looking for new jobs now. People aren't going to pay $15 a month to hear the same story over and over again, it just isn't going to happen. If BioWare wants this to be a story, then they need to expect it to be treated like a book. People are going to pick it up, read it, and then put it on the shelf and not touch it again for a very long time, if ever again. EDIT: I forgot to offer a counter point..... If this was true, why did BioWare do nothing but focus on PvP at PAX 2011 right before launch?
  20. Screw spending the full 100K, I would drop about 60K on an Aerial Atom, I would then take the rest and do something else....... Like attempt to make the Atom even more bad ***? Meh, maybe invest it into something...
  21. I tried out Tera, and it wasn't for me..... While it ran marvelously and looked stunning, BioWare needs to take note, I just couldn't get into it. The combat wasn't nearly as smooth as I was hoping, I found it extremely off-putting that you stopped every time you had to attack, even if it wasn't a channeled attack. The UI was very wonky as well as the controls to the game, even after customizing them. I think the issue here is that they appear to be highly optimized for a controller and not a keyboard and mouse. While I am sure it will be a successful MMO, it just wasn't for me.
  22. While I will not disagree with what you are saying, at least not outright, I will say this. The player doesn't need to understand the difference between the two. All that matters to the player is that their server is "dead", and because of this they are not able to enjoy the content of the game. It doesn't matter if subscription numbers are still as high, or higher, what matters is that when people log on they are seeing less than 100 people on the entire server. These people are not able to get groups, these people are not able to get into war zones. When the game started my server was a high population server, and during peak time had 300 to 500 Empire players on at any given time. Now during peak time we are under 200 players on the Empire side and under 100 players on the Republic side. BioWare could have 5,000,000 subscribers, but if these are the numbers on a persons particular server, the game is dead to them. The cause doesn't matter, it is what the player can see, that is what matters. I personally left the game because of how it was being handled on top of the lack of players on at any given time of the day.
  23. The amount of disinformation in this thread is amazing...... I am going to bump this just so I can continue to see this train wreck.
  24. Since you seem to be struggling with comprehension I will help you out... First, I never said anything about a "god mode" healer, in fact I don't think you even understand what quotations are for or how to use them. What you discerned from my statement is the completely opposite of what you should have, and in my statement both DPS and Healing are equal to one another! Second! Just as a Healer is going to have some offensive abilities at his/her disposal, the DPS will have some form of healing at their disposal. This all ties back into the part where I said "both putting out 100% of their respective potential," Last! I am a great healer, and still end at the top of the charts in terms of healing. That still doesn't change the simple fact that DPS and HPS are not in balance.
