  1. If you are the kind of player who'd rather quit out and screw the next guy in line over rather than finish the mess you made then the game really wont suffer when you leave.
  2. I assumed it was the part where they removed the bag/quest system and made you buy gear with currency you get from playing the WZ, instead of making wins the only way to get paid they are making playing the best way to get paid.

    Balance the factions?

why does it matter? Since ALL PVP happens in pop-capped areas there really isn't a gameplay need to even out the sides. It's not like there are so few of one side that even if they tried they couldn't hit the cap for ilum. Long PvP queues isn't their problem, you chose the popular side and that's what comes with it, enjoy having enough loose players to generally not need to organize on Ilum. You have to organize to take Ilum? you chose the unpopular side so sorry, enjoy your short PvP queues and lack of chain huttball.

    PvP Brakets

Assuming an even spread of players across all levels you should expect a doubling of your wait time for each new bracket introduced. This is assuming an even distribution, which we know there isn't ( you spend much more time per level the higher you go) So doubling is the absolute minimum you can expect. It will certainly be more than that. So assume you now wait 5 minutes for a game. Add in a 10-25 bracket and now it's 10 minutes. Make it a bracket every 10 levels (10-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-49) and we are at a bare minimum of a 40 minute wait between matches. MUCH longer if you are in a bracket which is under populated. Unless they do something to drastically increase the size of the pool of players they are choosing from ( cross realm PvP) it's not going to happen. The point of playing the game is you get to play. No one wants to wait in line.
  5. yes, we should totally have a PvP bracket where guys in ops gear can one shot guys who don't have it. This will totally address your "expertise giving people an unfair advantage" issues.
  6. Wait, you figured out how to get a voidstar AND a civil war match in the same hour?

    Some data

You don't get it. If you want info about fries you go to the people who make fries, not to the steak houses. Sure you may have some interesting data about steakhouse fries, but it really had nothing to do with fries in general, only with a very small subset within fries and a subset where fries are actually a secondary concern. Your sample size is too small to actually say anything. You are sampling the wrong data to support the claims you are trying to make. You might as well just delete the data and say " I feel..." because it's about as relevant.

    Some data

but you are sampling DPS from a place where DPS isn't the objective. It's like saying you know who makes the best hamburger because you've been to all the steak houses in the city. It's apples and oranges.
  9. Valor is basically PvP XP. Every 10 valor levels you get a new title and at valor 60 you gain access to special gear. Bolster ( that buff) makes it so your lower level toon can go and play with the higher leveled ones by making everyone have base stats like they were 49. It removes the disadvantage you would have by not having as many hitpoints or not doing as much damage as the higher leveled toons in your bracket.
  10. This quest should reward 5 bags, since the WZ daily is 1/3 the weekly and the weekly rewards 3X the daily. The math should hold for both sets of dailies. 3 wins = 1 bag 9 wins = 3 bags. 30 boxes = 1 bag 150 boxes = 3 bags? ***?
  11. It could be worse. I just recently got my 6th unassembled champion's relic. At least when you just get currency there's the feeling that "next time I'll win, because I didn't win this time", getting repeat pieces again and again and again is just a kick in the teeth every time, because you did win, and your prize is crap.
  12. I believe the phrase is "security through obscurity". No one bothers to hack a game that maybe 60 people are playing.

    Some data

Since there isn't a WZ where the objective is to do the most dmg then your entire data set is flawed. PvP is about game based objectives not about who does the most damage. "Good" players will often sacrifice high damage totals to capture or defend nodes for example. What winds up leading your sampling are players who don't understand what it takes to win, or don't care about winning at all. Windowlickers who run around the entire match smashing their faces against anything they see that is red. If "don't leave the node completely unguarded" is too complicated for them to grasp I wouldn't have much faith in their rotation being optimized or their gear / spec being correct. It's a nice effort, but there are not the people you want to be looking at for unbiased information.
  14. "Drag to me" and "leap to" abilities are insanely OP in huttball. You can complain about a ranged class sitting up high and doing the shooting gallery thing but at least you can avoid that damage. Having the ability to one shot anyone you can target every 15 or 30 seconds just 'cuz you're standing near an obstacle is not cool. Nevermind the leap to ability that allows certain classes to completely ignore the obstacles walkways and ramps all together.
  15. Expertise is fine. If you are REALLY a "2000+ level arena player" in this game and you are getting "wrecked by noobs" because of %10 then expertise isn't your problem. Shocker: but maybe you aren't as good as you think you are. Maybe you were abusing a game mechanic in the other game to make it look like you were much better than you actually are. Gear progression is the cornerstone of any MMO. There's a reason you don't get the last suit you'll ever wear the instant you turn 50. You seriously think it's the gear that's holding you back and I'm wishing I could be there when you get your 500 expertise or whatever and realize it's not the gear. The reason you can't kill "that guy" isn't because he has battlemaster gear on, it's because there are 2 people healing him and he's "guarded". The reason you get torn up like a wet newspaper is that you attacked alone and there are 6 of them.
  16. I would also like them to nerf all the classes I don't play into the ground. and a Ferrari and a million dollars. That should totally balance PvP and make the game 100 times more fun. ( for me)
  17. Why? I mean if the engine can't handle mass PvP then what does it matter if you are outnumbered 100:1. All the fighting happens inside WZ or in pop capped areas. A pop cap low enough that it renders the population imbalance irrelevant. There is no "PvP" reason to artificially balance the populations.
  18. You don't bring hundreds of millions of dollars worth of video game to market and then publicly state that you don't know how to fix the results of the choices you gave players, so you are going to pay everyone to act like they chose to be balanced. It's WAY easier just to design around the problem and it doesn't make you look like idiots to the shareholders. Just accept that a free choice of faction probably means no wild and wooly million vs million open world PvP slugfests ( which is fine because they've already said the engine can't handle a ton of people fighting in the same place). It means regulated XvX matches where the pop imbalance isn't an issue. Guess what, your faction size doesn't matter because you will never ever go head to head en masse with the other faction.
  19. As soon as they start tampering with players choices they loose all credibility. The best they can do is make it so there is never a reason to have as many imps and rebs as want to show up at the same place at the same time to fight, but instead to limit conflicts to an 8v8 or 16v16 situation so the pop imbalance is never an issue.

    Why so few Snipers?

Here's a fun fact: in order to get credit for a player kill on Ilum you need to be within 15m. Can anyone name a low mobility class designed to work outside 15m range?

    Cowards everywher

...or they could be trying to draw you out of position, or they could be trying to move the fight to a place where they have an advantage, or they could be trying to tow you into range of the clustercrush of windowlickers. PvP ain't all about you and me taking turns smacking each other till one of us falls over.

    Leaver Penalties

5 minutes is not long enough. In order to work the "no queue" debuff would have to be longer than the match they left at least. Personally I think 20-30 mins is appropriate.
  23. Gigo

    Leaver Penalties

Because it was your turn. Why should someone else have to waste their queue to play with YOUR idiots AND not get a full match because you couldn't finish what you started? Self important players like YOU are the cause of the problem. Take your lumps instead of just passing them on to the next guy in line.
  24. Gigo

    Why no deserters debuff?

With a sufficient penalty it's more likely the guy who got it to 5-0 wouldn't have left early and instead played out his match for the losers reward and you would have gotten your own fresh match.
