  1. Oops, I meant to say Shadowlands, not Sith Meditation Sphere (my old server). Glad I am not alone!
  2. I play on Sith Meditation Sphere.. in the last 10 minutes every time I try to join a Warzone, I crash to the login screen. This happens across two characters. Anyone else having this issue?
  3. Thanks for the tips... but why do you tell everyone to unsubscribe and uninstall?
  4. I hit 50 recently, and have been running dailies to get gear (like the Campaign relic, ear, implants), along with daily story mode FPs. I hadn't tanked anything in SWTOR before I hit 50 so am using the story modes for practice. Single target threat is relatively easy; I can maintain threat and keep my energy up fairly well. AoE tanking is a bit tougher, however, so I'm looking for help. I've found Battle for Ilum trash one of the harder tanking jobs so far; not because the trash is hard, but because there are places in the beginning where it's very spread out. I don't like to have other members of the party get hit so when I can't grab them all it's a bit embarrassing. Any rotation tips for a relatively new VG tank?
  5. I noticed the new legacy character perk, "Legacy of Crafting", affects the chance for an augmented result when crafting. I am wondering whether this is really just an enhanced crit chance? Specifically, I am curious whether this legacy perk might affect Slicing missions to improve the chance to obtain those Neural Augmentors as ingredients for Augments. Does anyone know?
  6. I wanted to follow up for the Bioware team, considering how much frustration has been expressed on this forum (including by me). My server (Sith Meditation Sphere) was finally picked for transfer in the last round yesterday. My experience since then has been fantastic! 1) Transfer of my 7 characters took less than a minute each (though I was told to expect up to an hour). 2) The server population was awesome - we hit 300 at least on the Republic Fleet, maybe more in another instance. Word was that there were 400+ on the Imperial side too. 3) PVP was non-stop; I played 6-7 hours straight, with non-stop WZ queue pops, and made >60k valor last night alone 4) We've already added more people to our guild to help raid with us People in my guild are saying, "Now this is the game we wanted all along!" I have to agree, this is awesome and fun and all I hoped it would be. Nice work on the transfers!!
  7. Don't assume that just because we are on a PVE server, that we don't PVP - just as I wouldn't assume people on PVP servers don't do any Ops/FPs. There are a ton of dedicated PVPers on my PVE server (Sith Meditation Sphere), myself included. You can only do so many Ops/FPs, PVP fills in the rest of the time and is actually a prime choice of activity all the time anyway. Speaking for myself, I rolled on a PVP server simply because I just didn't want to get ganked while doing dailies or routine questing.
  8. Thanks and may the TRANSFER be with you! ^^ I fixed it for you.
  9. What annoys me is that Sith Meditation Sphere (SMS) was a pre-launch server. Bioware selected the server for our guild before launch in the guild pre-deployment days. So why leave it until last? Unlike others who may have picked their server themselves, Bioware self-selected SMS. So why leave us hanging now? - Belessar
  10. Don't forget about poor Sith Meditation Sphere! We need a transfer too, our server has such a low population. We've had two server transfers announced today already, and haven't been included yet ... and with Joveth claiming that "the opening of origin servers for free character transfers is now in the fine-tuning stage", I worry that we'll miss out. At the very least, the pace has slowed down so I don't see why there's a need to wait further.
  11. I am trying to get into space combat, after having ignored it since I was in my low teen levels. I am level 50 now, and have been for a long time, but have been ignoring space for some reason. I recently heard there were nice credit and daily commendation rewards to be had from the space missions. However, I tried the three missions in Ilum space and couldn't complete any of the three despite multiple attempts. Let me hasten to add that I recognized that I'd need grade 5 ship gear before trying these, so I equipped my ship with a bunch of crafted magenta gear: - ArMek Ship Armor - Quellegh Industrial Energy Shield - Sienar Systems Beam Charger - Kuat Drive Yards Missile Magazine - Plus a Grade 5 Shield Regenerator and Grade 5 Beam Generator I bought from the Space NPC on the Fleet I don't have the other stuff not mentioned, since they need fleet comms; Power Conversion Module, Proton Torpedoes, EMP Generator and Electronic Warfare Pod. Are these needed to complete these Ilum daily space missions? If so, how would you suggest I get them? Any general tips on how to succeed in the Ilum space missions?
  12. I am a Republic player, with an alt specced for Synthweaving / Archaeology / Underworld Trading. Multiple times yesterday, his UT missions came back with schematics for orange armour ... for Sith! While I am sure some people will say this is WAI (working as intended), since I can probably sell them on a neutral GTH on Tatooine, I claim this is broken. If I can't use the schematics myself for crafting, then they shouldn't be in the loot tables to drop for me. Thus, no Republic player should get any UT mission returning Sith armour schematics. Since I got 4 Sith schematics and just 1 Republic schematic, I am slightly irked. Devs; please fix this?
  13. Fully agree. I have run 4 HM flashpoints and 3 out of 4 times, we have had Columi loot drops for classes not present in the run. It is utterly ridiculous to invest so much time and get zero value in return for the successful win. Either make the barter token generic, not class-specific, or put in code to only drop class-specific loot for a class in the run!
  14. I did my first HM flashpoint last night, Taral V. It was fun ... right up until the barter item for the Columi gloves dropped - for a SMUGGLER. I'd like to note, my group had two Consulars and two Jedi Knights. No Smugglers! Bioware, please ... if you are going to tie dropped loot barter tokens to specific classes, PLEASE put in a check to match the dropped item to a class actually running the instance! Otherwise, just change it to a generic, class-blind token and let any person in the group win and use it. The current model is broken: we won the HM instance but not a single person in our group could use the Columi (bind on pickup) armor piece. You can't have class-specific item drops without class-checking loot tables first.
  15. That is a valid reason, but it's still feasible to "friend farm" Republic vs. Sith - just get buddies on Vent/Teamspeak on either side, and coordinate a match. I still want to see Tatooine fixed for viable (ie. worthwhile) PVP and feel awarding valour would help.
  16. I was farming Merc commendations in Dealer's Den on Tatooine the other day, marveling at how empty the zone was. I only saw one other person my whole time there, a Sith (I am Rep). After we scuffled for a minute or so, I ended up with a 1v1 win ... and no reward. Why no valour return on Tatooine? Is it because we can bring our companions? Fine, restrict them at the gate to Dealer's Den - I didn't want him there anyway! Is it because we can fight both Rep and Sith? Fine, give us valour for any person killed there. It's true open world PVP, enter at your own risk! Why don't kills on Tatooine could towards the 150 PVP kills from the weekly quest? That quest is given out on the Fleet so having it only count on Ilum doesn't make sense. Don't worry about low-level people getting credit for such kills on Tatooine, since they can't pick up the quest on the Fleet until 50 anyway. If you fixed these issues, Tatooine may become more viable for PVP - maybe it could earn a reputation for nice 1v1 or small group vs. group fights, compared to the larger open world battles on Ilum. Right now, it's a waste of space since it is permanently empty - and kills are worthless even if you do chance across someone else.
  17. Ok, noob question ... what the heck is Egress? I didn't see it in the non-Seer lines.
  18. I'm a level 50 Sage who has been TK specced almost my entire TOR career, short as it may be, with a 3/31/5 build now that I'm done leveling (I just hit 50 3 days ago). I'm curious about the DPS capability of the Balance line since I've never tried it. I PVP a lot and am running Ilum/Belsavis dailies to gear up for FP HMs, so I want to be sure I'm maximizing my DPS. With my TK build, I can reliably deliver 2500 damage hits with a Weaken Mind + Turbulence combo, and I know that will go up as my gear improves. I also love Tidal Force when using Forcequake to get a zero-induction AoE attack with Telekinetic Wave. However, I'm still curious about the Balance line. For those of you Sages who use it, why Balance and not TK for DPS? What spec build do you use, and why? I read in a different thread a surprising comment that claimed, "The most common dps builds seem to be 0/17/24 or 0/13/28..." Does anyone have a link to the Torhead site that shows what those builds are exactly? I guess I am kind of surprised not to see a build with 7 points in Seer to gain the 10% AoE damage boost from Psychic Suffusion, given that Force in Balance (seemingly the prime new damage skill in the Balance line, no?) is an AoE attack. Note: I am interested mainly in DPS, not in the CC advantages of the Balance line. The one exception would be if someone said that the 3-target, zero-induction change to Force Lift is a powerhouse in PVP - then I'd change my mind. Thanks in advance!
  19. LOTRO doesn't let you stick a house anywhere you want, though. Nor does it let you change the exterior. It just offers four pre-designed models in large and small options - kinda like ships here in TOR (except choice is linked to class). There is a third option which is far larger Kim housing, which has already been announced as coming to TOR as guild capital ships.
  20. I'm working through the Artifice crafting tree, and am up around 240 or so. I've noticed a new stat appear on some crafted Hilts that I don't fully understand. What are Power and Absorption? What do they do?
  21. One other thing that is pure win about this game: Companions. Being able to auto-sell vendor trash while still in the field? Yes please! Being able to craft while questing? Yes please! Having a complementary soldier to help me quest (ie. tank with DPS/healer)? Very nice.
  22. I got a gold spam email in-game this morning for some reason.
  23. I am reading so many negative posts on this forum that I just can't help myself - I feel compelled to share my own viewpoint. The Stephen Reid article on Reddit noted that the devs do read the forums, so I hope I can provide a counterpoint to the negativity with some constructive feedback. I absolutely love this game. I am having a blast playing it! I have been a multi-year devotee of LOTRO (hated WOW though), and the only time I've been back since early access opened was on Tuesday morning when the maintenance patch took the TOR servers down. Flashpoints are super fun. The first time I ran through Esseles, my jaw dropped. I had a permanent grin on my face the whole time. I loved how the story unfolded as you went along through the instance, rather than traditional MMO fare of trash-trash-boss-loot. It felt fast-faced and engaging. I also love the light/dark options with social voting to choose whose selection wins. Unexpected dark side choices by a Jedi led to many OMGs and LOLs in the chat window. I love PVP here. I am only level 27 so haven't seen any open world PVP yet, just Warzones, so I haven't experienced the "no rewards / rankings from open world PVP" issue being reported. And I'm playing the Republic side, so I haven't experienced the anecdotal never-ending "Huttball Express" that Sith players have reported. I do grant that mixing level 10 players with players of level 30-40 (or higher) is a bit odd, since the low-ranked guys have so few skills, but it works well enough IMO. I've been PVPing in Warzones now since level 10 and did get kills of high-ranked people even at that low rank - and had FUN doing it. I loved the XP, I valued the credits (I use it to supplement my income now when I burn it all on buying new skills or on a speeder or on crafting), and I especially loved the Warzone commendations. I managed to get something like 450 commendations by the time I hit level 20, which I used to buy amazing orange set pieces that not only looked cosmetically awesome, they also gave me a major stat boost. Nice job on PVP Warzones! People say this isn't a social game. It's true, there isn't much chatting in General chat. But I have had zero issues finding people for help with Heroics and Flashpoints at any time, on any world (or fleet). I can see how an LFD tool might marginally help assembling a group, but I feel it would significantly set back even the little social interaction and chat we see in General now. So an LFD tool definitely NOT desired by me. While I’m at it, I have seen some very strident requests for chat bubbles on this forum. Also, for me, definitely not wanted – that would break the immersion (I even turned off character names of other players). I always thought those chat bubbles looked ridiculous in SWG. I think the game performance has been phenomenal. I realize some other people have had issues, but I have never had lag, have no FPS issues, and have only ever seen one bug: the six-inch NPC in a quest cutscene. Frankly, that was hilarious so I didn’t mind. I’m playing this on a generic laptop with no special video card, too, and it works and looks great. I’ve also never been bothered by login server queues; I play Republic on Sith Meditation Sphere and Sith on Harbinger, so it’s not like these are low-pop servers. The very few times I have seen queues my wait has been just a few minutes. My minor gripes / requests: I'd like to see a "cosmetic armour" option, such as exists in LOTRO, so you can display whatever nice-looking gear you like while still equipping the proper (unmatching) gear. I don't want the proposed "match colors to chest piece" idea since it's a partial measure. What really prompted this: when I equipped a helmet on my Jedi Sage, it turned what was an awesome looking hero into someone who resembled a churchman from the 1700s. That hat made my Jedi look like a pansy!! And I can't disable display of the hat without un-equipping it, unless I missed an option – I like the hair on my Jedi and don’t want to display any helmet. So this is a small issue, but important to me. The Galactic Trade Network (GTN) needs enhancement so you can just click/drag an item in your inventory to pre-populate a search field rather than forcing us to wade through filters. For that matter, just having a search field you can type into would be great. I do think we have the start of a good economy, though, I am heartened; when I logged in this morning I had sold 10 items, making 22k credits overnight. Nice! I’d like a way to use keyboard shortcuts to access all button options, so I don’t have to click everything. This means I’d like one row accessible via buttons 1 through = (as they are currently), but also by Ctrl-1 through Ctrl-=, Alt-1 through Alt-=, and Shift-1 through Shift-=. At the same time, the two rows which are allowed to be visible are too few – I need at least 3 visible key bar rows to fit skills and consumables I use in a normal day. I prefer them all at the bottom, not two on bottom and 2 on either side. Perhaps you could give an option to display more than 2 bars at the bottom at once, as well as an option to reduce the size of the buttons (they are huge) to ¾ or ½ proportional size from today. Further, I want to be able to use F1-F12 to access party members. I need this when healing given how much context switching I have to do with multiple people/Companions and multiple heal skills. It seems I can do this today, but it’s backwards. I expect F1 to reference me, and F2 to reference the party member whose picture is on top of the list on my screen. Right now, F2 seems to access the bottom person, F3 is the middle, and F4 is the top-most person on the party list. This needs to be fixed so it’s more intuitive, F1-F4 for people from top to bottom. Further, pressing F2 twice should let me access the Companion of F2’s character. I recognize that the game just shipped and there is plenty of time for enhancement. I am here for the long-haul; I subscribed for 6 months, and would have subbed for 12 months if it were given as a option. Heck, I would have bought a Lifetime subscription if it were offered! All in all, a great, fun game IMO. Nice work, Bioware!
  24. I am puzzled by what "pushback" is, as referenced by the Concentration skill in the Telekinetics line. Can anyone please explain what this is? Putting points into the skill to reduce pushback sounds beneficial, but I'm not sure in which way.
  25. I have two characters now, one a Jedi Sage with Artifice, and one a Sith Juggernaut with Synthweaving. My plan was to use each to craft gear for the other ... until I just tried to mail some light armour boots to my Sage and discovered it was prohibited! Given that we have 6 crafting profession options, and only four character slots per Sith/Republic alignment (assuming we want all classes), how can we effectively craft everything for ourselves to be self-sustained? Is the answer: you can't?
