  1. Haha you are QQing already just wait until we pwn you with Rakatta.
  2. In doing those warzones day after day to get gear. If you enjoy that great. Awesome have fun with it. But shouldnt pvp be more than just warzones? Should the motivation be daily/weekly quests? There's no proper pvp objectives, just Illum and warzones.
  3. It allows them to roflstomp people which they would not have the skill to do otherwise.
  4. While I appreciate your sentiment its far more entertaining to troll around here.
  5. Bioware stated that there would be "no grind" in the game. They got it right below 50 then left nothing but grind to keep people going. And as a legit 72 hawk eye in L2 I know exactly what you're saying about Korean grinds.
  6. He does grind though Olympic athletes train 5 days a week doing the same thing almost every day. Physical conditioning and muscle memory give them their improvement. Muscle memory also applies in PvP just as much. Adding improved gear would be like giving the best access to steroids, and access to better ones when they win. That comparison you're trying to rip apart was spot on. Your experience and reaction times/muscle memory should give a full time PvPer the edge. Not an extra 50% HP, doubled damage output and 20% defence.
  7. I thought you were onto something until you stated you wanted more gear rewards lol.
  8. Buahahahahaha. PvP gear was the worst thing ever put in this game. It's just a crutch for the bads. Bioware have even acknowledged that there is a problem for fresh 50s and they need to resolve it. The gear gate into pvp is terrible yet the OP wants more of it. I think it's too late for this game to recover from this terrible design decision but seeing the QQ is even worse. Gear grinds are short term distractions from problems. Think of the long term health of the game instead of your own personal epeen kiddies. If someone gives you über gear to pwn noobs/players with lives. Those noobs will soon get bored and leave, what good is pvp gear with no one to pvp.
  9. This would make sense if t1 pvp'ers fought other T1 pvpers but that isn't what happens. They get thrown in with with T2/3 players. PvP gear is currently viable for all NM mode ops
  10. Y u unsub wen they pwomised u moar geer? Gear Progress is a purely PvE mechanic put in to act as a limiting factor for progression. There is 0 pvp progression in this game right now, you do not get bigger harder more challenging battles or new tactics and strategies through gear in this game in fact battles get easier as you gear up in this game. The gear grind was put in this game like putting a rug over the gaping whole that is pvp content. The warzones are good but instead of being a little thing to do between serious pvp like in some other games (AoC for example) warzones and gear grind are this games backbone. Have you ever been hyped up about a future battle in this game? Have you ever been part of a battle which was hotly debated on the forum for days after the clash itself in this game? No! Being the best player of SWTOR in the world won't get even half your server to bother remembering your name because outside the WZ it effects nothing at all. What are the Sith and Republic actually warring over? Battlemaster armour.
  11. Nah WoW kiddies are the curse not console gamers. PvP sucks in this game simply because without the gear grind there is no motivating factor. No server pride, no sense of conflict etc. The people that love these gear grinds are the new kids. Us old schoolers are used to exp loss on death in pvp being looted on death in pvp. The lolgear grind is carebear ****. Would you want BM gear if I could loot it off you?
  12. Want to make that happen? You have a Guild Wars account? We can make this happen!
  13. Astral, can you stop trying to derail this thread and join in the trolling?
  14. Never have I complained about premades in my life. I've never complained about champion gear being hard to get. I think the shear magnitude of effect the gear has in this game is crap and it's fun watching wow kiddies defend it. And call themselves things like "hardcore" the time I spend with the other half instead of gear grinding is much more hardcore.
  15. This whole thread is trolling, why QQ about something that's not happening? I'm only here to troll because WoW kiddies bite everytime. (Sub runs out in 3 days, I will not be renewing)
  16. You obviously missed the bit between Empire strikes back and Return of the Jedi where Luke goes around picking up missiles to trade for his black Battlemaster robes.
  17. What the hell are you QQ'ing for? You want a gear treadmill, this game has a gear tread mill. Dry your eyes and play mate.
  18. What does roleplay have to do with gear progression? As someone who played roleplay games when they were confined to pen & paper I can tell RPG's are about role playing. I know this is a hideous concept to the common wow kiddie but it's what they are about. ToR nails the single player RPG's experience in PvE but fails in pvp as an RPG experience because the pvp is devoid of purpose. If there was some kind of persistent objective or a weekly battle (basically something to care about) it would be ok. These types of thing require things like faction balance and a touch of genius to design. Gear progression is just a cheap alternative. It takes a few hours and minimal risk to add a new colour scheme to a skin and put +6 on its stats. It takes years of complex development to make meaningful world pvp. It's all about the money, why bother making a Michelin star meal for a customer when you can mass produce chicken nuggets and make millions of dollars.
  19. I don't know what people are arguing about. EA/Bioware have decided to copy WoW's gear v gear instead of putting in PvP. There's no point I arguing this is a design direction that no matter how well implemented will not be enjoyable for people that like competitive pvp. I understand why people are complaining but really you should just use your wallets to tell Bioware what you think. Guild Wars 2 will be the PvP MMO of the year and it will be cheap as chips.
  20. What! You mean you don't like shoulder pads held on by the force?? Heresy!!
  21. I prefer someone elses analogy of giving national champion boxers steel knuckles and world champions hand guns.
  22. Yes, but experience carries in games like this. In other games PvP the people that roughed it out as underdogs often ended up as server celebrities because of the threat they posed in small numbers. If someone has managed to reliably win in open PvP in 8 V 14 fights for example, they will often end up being immense in 8 v 8. Obviously this game hasn't had huge amounts of open pvp, but we can see a touch of this. Then again I am thinking of factionless games where pvp was more freeform.
