  1. Mr Reid, Sorry. Not understanding. I must be missing something. The server that BW allocated to my guild, that most of us started playing on within the first 2 days of early access is now experiencing long queue times to get in. How is you adding another server now going to change the fact that the server i and 40ish guildmates have invested 100s of hours into now is clearly over populated! The timer indicates the region of 30 minutes for the server we are on, i have been in this queue now for 55 mins. Not acceptable. Last night i suffered a disconect at place 3 which was soul destroying, took nearly 1 hour 45 mins to actually get to the game. I clearly dont understand how this works, all i know is i wont be subscribing unless something changes. I regret purchasing a CE. It was mentioned many times how Bioware wanted a smooth launch for this title, this is not smooth. Please explain to me as we get closer to launch date what will happen to shorten the queing times to the effected servers? Or are you just planning on people walking away from the game?
  2. same for hydian, 30 mins stated, been 48 mins for me now. glad im not on one of the 1 hour + servers The lack of an official community statement on this is getting disturbing. SR tweeting about expecting queues is one thing, but an explanation of what they are planing on doing for the future is what we need. Will not subscribe after initial 30 days unless improvements are made
  3. yup... i said in another thread on this that i dont understand why they didnt work from 2 data bases and monitor server performance and issues at local levels. sure there is a reason, but i cant work it out. All i hope is that this is the only time we see something like this, i have played other MMO's where US control really messed with the EU communitys... server downtimes at pretty much peak times for EU players.. overload problems that take hours to get sorted because the people that are needed to fix are sleeping peacfully on the other side of the world... i could list many but i wont. Im sure it wont be the case with SWTOR, i am still keeping faith in BW. I do agree with OP too, more transparency would have been ideal, but its getting clear to see why they didnt go that way. already people are reporting that people got in ahead of them when they registered pre order codes first etc and we are looking at a small window at the moment, i suspect this will get larger over todays invites
  4. good point, mind if i borrow it to add weight to my own? (sorry!) US servers = US players (primarily) EU servers = EU Players (primarily) why wait for the "west coasters" to log in before adding more load to an EU server (or vice versa)
  5. Meh, i dont want to troll... going to have to nerd out and put my views on this thread though There is more to this than something as simple as the servers are all 90% full and they want people to move on further into the galaxy, with the way everything is phased or instanced or what ever you call it i dont see a problem with 1 million players on starting worlds (exagerated number) i do find Biowares lack of transparency on the EA somewhat troubling, sure i accept they have there reasons. I do however feel that in some respects this is not the right way to start. The next wave starts at 3pm gmt (using my local time here) i am not 100% sure what time the last wave of invites but from what i gather from friends etc it was around 7.30pm gmt so thats pretty much a 20 hour gap.... What concerns me is there does not seem to be a differentiation between EU and US server invites, i feel there should be. I dont understand why they are not working from 2 data bases and monitoring at local (either us or eu) server level check all is ok. i am going to trust there word that even more will gain access tomorrow, and assume they will pump out invites all day (going on the cst local time now) and go later than they have today... well if they do EU people could be given access at crazy times of night - therefore pointless. please note by pointless i mean if you start someone on wednesday, but the first chance they get to log on is thursday your not spreading a load... I am sure BW and EA have people far more inteligent than myself who came up with the best solution for this to all work. I dont feel /entitled to play this game. But i want to play! Hence my point of transparency. I dont know if ill be in tomorrow or thursday or friday, i dont know if the day i will get in will actually provide anything in terms of decent playtime. I could get in at midnight tomorrow (local time) in which case i wont be logging in until 6pm the following day. TL;DR i want to be reasonable and rational about it all, but i want to play, a big chunk of the complaints could have been avoided if BW had been transparent about EA and when we get to play - it feels to me like they know something could rub part of the community so they decided to try and keep it out of site.
