  1. I unsubbed yesterday because I'm bored of the game. However, if I wasn't bored I wouldn't be threatened by this. 1. Subscribers get all the same things they have now, but gain: a. monthly coins b. more ppl to play with c. extra cosmetic stuff d. potentially faster content (I'm not gonna judge the success of this one) 2. Subscribers don't lose anything. It doesn't sound like their cash shop with be P2W (pay to win), developers have figured out it's a terrible idea. Stop being hysterical and paranoid about the cash shop. There are plenty of valid reasons to unsubcribe, but I don't think there are any rational, objective reasons to do so from this announcement.
  2. Wrath of the Lich King was released on November 13, 2008 Let say you turned 12 the day that happened (though it should be earlier), that would make you 16 on Nov. 13th of this year. Doesn't quite add up.
  3. What? I think ArenaNet is pretty good, but I take it you haven't seen Aion (by NCSoft). Easily the worst MMO I have ever played.
  4. I have found that starting a cast and strafing back and forth (to interrupt it) can very reliably (only takes maybe 5 tries ) cause a global cool down in which I am actually locked out from using other abilities. There are also other reports of using non-cast time abilities misfiring and causing GCDs. This is all without any noticeable lag. Is this issue being researched and will it be addressed soon?
  5. Yes, they still stand with so that if they get jumped at they will hit a wall.
  6. I agree. In before dozens of broke people post that you're wrong.
  7. I don't know where you guys position Toth, but basically you attempt to keep the distance between you and the tank at max, WHILE keeping the tank closer to you than Toth. For me, this means I tell the melee DPS to stand on Toth's side (and not back) because if they are on his back they'll be too far to heal. It's tight, and you have to re-adjust a lot because of the jumping and moving and then aoes that move the tank around. But if you can skip getting hit even 1/2 the time it will help a lot. Hopefully this will help you: http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/6384/totharea.png Keep in mind it's just a general layout, things are really quite tight and your heal range is only slightly larger than his aoe range.
  8. It just gets better with experience. I barely feel troubled watching all those cooldowns and timers at 50. But when I change to Carnage (something I've played very very little of) even though it has LESS cooldowns that I have to track, I find it takes a lot more of my attention. I'm just not used to the flow of it yet.
  9. But we lack any knockback, and have the worst stun in the game. We gain some things, and we give up others.
  10. I don't do any dailies except the Black Hole ones, and then only once a week on two characters. I probably average less than 1 HM FP a day (if only I had time). I have 4 max tradeskills. I have 3 50s, and a 25ish. That's lots of alts that I crafted stuff for, bought character perks on, bank room, inventory space, etc. No I don't play 8+ hours a day, I work a 40 hour week and live with my GF. (she doesn't play). I just don't think these prices are so bad. If they don't balance credit sinks with credit creation we would have some insane inflation over a very short period of time. I'm not saying their system is perfect, but most people in this thread only have their own perspective as a reference. Bioware has a lot more information to use. Could they have taken all that information and made poor choices? Sure. Do I think they're making better decisions than if one of you were in charge? Yes.
  11. They have statistical data that they base these things around. They probably look at how much the average level 50 player earns in a day and try to balance that (in a fashion) with how much they spend. They probably consider the differences between exchanges (GTN) and gains (quest rewards) into these decisions. So if these things are too expensive for you, my guess is that: 1. You're probably earning much less than the average player of your level. (most likely) 2. You play less than the average player of your level. (a reason for the above) Keep in mind that the averages for these sorts of things tend to be quite low because the "average" players are not hardcore and don't play for 8 hours a day. To be significantly lower than that... I honestly doubt you would be happy in any sort of game economy. But for someone that manages their money well, these prices aren't hurting us.
  12. Thank you for posting that (Original poster). You have vindicated all of the Sentinels / Marauders that try to explain that our class is just more complicated than many others. Some say: This class is easy to play, hard to master. Other classes seem: Easy to play, easy to master. And then it gets boring. I can't go back to my Madness Sorcerer because it's just so bland by comparison.
  13. Sure. But only as long as it makes sense. They've been trying to stick with mechanics that can be visually represented or hinted at. So if every time you interrupt him he yells something, arcs his back, glows intensely and gains a stacking cast speed buff, it will help push the mechanics in the visual direction. However if he just gains a stacking buff with no other indications it will just be another boring mechanic. Sure you'll learn it just the same after a few attempts, but it won't add to the fight as much as, for example, the dialog between Jarg and Sorno.
