  1. Agreed, Though I wish to post my own reason. I'm horribly uncharismatic and have trouble finding a guild without doing server only 5 mans. At least a good one anyways, and usually when I DO join one I'm still trapped doing 5 man randoms with random people because im new and no one knows me in the place. This is not the WORK all solution for everyone. sorry.
  2. Even If these features are unwanted and undesired in every fashion? Using the ole everyone's gotta take a bite of the rotten sandwich ideology? And I don't think its really all "THAT" much of a coding nightmare. You do have to admit to it. If Cross realm queing goes live on all servers, This game will suffer for it. However much or little. And don't overjudge the way I write this. I'm not "terribly" charismatic even online. I'm just stating that this is a problem that actually REQUIRES a fix. We simply need to ensure its the right fix. No one wants it to slide into being World of Warcraft/Rifts system. Nor do folks want it to stay the same.
  3. Saying this thread is incredibly common, would still be an incredible understatement. There should be a LFD, A cross server one to boot, with the option to opt out of it via server selection(certain servers should not have cross server capabilities). I could go into detail on this, and to sum it up, It'd work simply with some servers working in a hive of 30-40 servers which que together, while 10-20 servers lack any cross server capabilities at all, but there's a very tall thread here on this topic. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=1810&page=16 Good, albeit long boring read. You'll see how divided we are on our opinions there for whats best for this game, but the answers ultimately(both). Some folks won't put up with it, while some won't play without it. Understandably to both as well.
  4. A thread made many a time. The game could use one. A cross server one for maximum effect. With the choice to opt out of it via server selection. The basics of it would imply that there'd be a hive of 30-40 cross server servers(with cross server capabilities) for those who don't wish to wait or put up with community. And there'd be 10-20 non cross server servers for those who never wish to enjoy/suffer the effect cross servers have on a game. You'll be very shocked to find how divided we are on cross servers and non cross servers.(perhaps even a LFD) This thread will be most enlightening to you cat. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=1810&page=16
  5. Don't forget also that when you meet someone nice. With Cross Servers, its good bye "forever".
  6. Aye, Don't like cross server Flashpoints? Roll on a non cross server server.(a community server we'll call it). And never worry on it again. The opposite is true as well. The choice for non cross server play starts on choosing which server to make your character on. Relatedly, upon making such a feature, a brief free server transfer period should be in play for transferring to/from server to server.
  7. They need to do this soon I agree. What they need to do is as soon as possible implement a cross server LFF tool(looking for flashpoint tool) At the same time they need to also make "some" servers exempt from this. 10 out of 40 servers should so to say be non Cross server servers. Balance for all, and an end to the long ques for those who don't want to wait for a server based group. With this system those who want the cross server looking for flashpoint system can have it. And those who don't can remain in a community without this unwanted feature. Also, don't tell me that if you don't like it don't use it. Because as most know, when its there its simply impossible to put together a server based group. Hell, sometimes even impossible to put together a guild based group.
  8. And once again each and everyone of you prove that the cross server dungeon finder is a necessary tool for this game. Inevitability. A fast NECESSARY one that should be in "SOON". At the same time, many prove that Non cross server servers are also a necessity. And should be implemented at the same time for those who wish to forfeit such a feature. Allowing transfers on/off the server for a brief time during this transition. This seems simple to me.
  9. They'll allow for mass server transfers Ohnoto. You'll be able to FREE OF CHARGE transfer to/from that server during this date. A NECESSARY PRICE to uphold the balance required of this game to please its considerably divergent playerbase. If the game "Rift" can allow free server transfers from all to all servers, I'm sure SWTOR can allow this. Relatedly, this is a temporary luxury. This game is still a business and as such these things cannot remain free. Also, it may only be to a set other of servers(of matching type aka pvp as opposed to pvp). But afterwards you will still be able to transfer off, For a price. Relatedly to your response, you see why cross servers AND "Non cross server servers" SHOULD Have been a feature to ship with the game? People shouldn't be worrying about losing their community, JUST as much as people shouldn't be going without this feature they rightfully claim should already be in the game. Also, by reading your response, Odd to hear you'd rather you didn't even have the option at all to reroll on such a server(given one or the other). I think people would at least be pleased to have "THAT" option. This btw folks is a response to my earlier post last page about having some non cross server servers included in a game WITH a strong hive(20-30) cross server servers also in it.
  10. They're fun, and the bring the potential promise of the ultimate bloodsport. Starfox 64 online. SWTOR style. I spent centuries in the Battle royal mode with family and friends, and will pwn you in that. Win when that occurs.
  11. You all know that ALL servers don't necessarily have to be CROSS server servers right? Technically they "COULD" have say "Seven" servers that lack a dungeonfinder/Cross server capabilities. They'd be called Community servers for the community benefits explained earlier in this thread that come from lack of Cross server play. Or you know, explained by the developers as they made this game? All the while the other 20-30 servers could all be intertwined into the cross server network. Granting reasonably fast que times for them. EVEN with the 7 servers missing from its hive, Besides after all, those players technically never woulda used the feature anyways according to some of you. Right? If they do this, we can all have our cake, AND eat it too. And bloody soon too because many folks are getting tired of going without fast quick crossrealm Flashpoints and pvp matches. Or having to advertise in General chat for 2 minutes to 20 minutes. You don't want to lose these players, as they argue(and rightfully so perhaps) that this is a feature that should have shipped with the game. Shouldn't it have? That, and honestly, It goes without saying that many folks will RIGHTFULLY feel betrayed and ruined if they lose the social networking game they bought this week.(The non Cross server one) And to get the point home. What a wonderfully made game this has shown itself to be. Especially Delivered in "BOTH" the desired formats above. Think on what Ive said here over. And also realize, I'd bet you 1'000'000 million SWTOR credits they're probably already onto an idea like this. Its both too obvious and too fine a fix. If this thread is any indication, You'd potentially be making COUNTLESS players into belligerent stampeding elephants by either executing a "COMPLETE" cross server switch to ALL the servers on this game, or by taking inaction and NOT doing it at all. Were a community cut in half in this belief, Lets accept that fact. This thread is proof of it. And by isolating 7-10 servers from the 30-40 cross server horde, that is the key. This number can be adjusted depending on server fullness and popularity. And don't say "Then just don't use the feature then". Because as ANYONE who's played a game with this feature knows, Once its in it pretty much becomes nigh impossible to set up server side groups outside your guild(or even in it a lot of the time). And by the way, Ive always had a hard time getting into a good guild without meeting the members in an instance. Am I alone in that?
  12. Many Folks here seem to claim this is inevitable and for that matter the games UNPLAYABLE without it. I won't take any side on the argument even though I'm on one. But here's a fix that I think'll work for all. Why do we have to make "All" the servers cross server? Why can't just a collection of them be cross server while some to many of them remain free of it. I KNOW you'll give the argument, "You don't have to use the LFD when its added". But you know for a fact the system makes putting together Server groups just impossible. So I propose this. And in fact I wish they released the game with this already intact somewhat So we don't have to server transfer or all that rot, Or so we don't have to WAIT for a feature many folks consider necessary/Many folks worry is inevitable and UNWANTED. Why once again don't we make "some of the servers" part of a cross server group. Say... half, half and a quarter... etc... Everyone would win right? And if not, why wouldn't we? Also, state whats wrong with such ideology if that's the case...
