  1. I just came back to SWTOR after having not really played since before the first expansion released. Started leveling up a sage because I project is one of my favorite abilities, and I think disturbance is pretty cool. The idea of controlling the environment with vast force power making the world shake where I walk was very appealing to me. And this is supposed to be the idea behind the class (particularly the tele spec). But then I get in and find that I rarely if ever use project (I prefer dot specs, so am balance...but I've read that the other spec rarely uses it too). And nobody gets moved around. It's just big, quite, white cloud after cloud or little happy glowy light after light. Project is rare. Tele throw is oookkaayyyy but really quiet and you can barely see it. What happened to the double project sages used to have? Why do shadow tanks now have more earth-ripping abilities? They're ripping up and tossing boulders left and right! I want that-but long range! I wish we went more the route of the old Force Slam that was advertised when the game was in development. In every Star Wars game I've played I always try to max out the force movement abilities. I loved throwing people into other people. Obviously, I know that can't happen in this game. And we don't have ragdoll mechanics so when I supposedly "blast" people with disturbance etc they don't go flying. That's fine. But it feels like they're not even trying. Why doesn't our stun have the force slam animation? This, combined with the facts of having a lightsaber for nothing but the occasional deflection and of having one of the most boring storylines (haven't played it yet, have only heard it so-but my guys voice is a bit derpy lol), really turns me off from the game. :/ At the very least, makes me want to play a gunman in a star wars game. It feels like they're super-gunman, and the jedi are a bit of washups. Just to make it even. Okay rant over. What do you guys think? Happy with the animations/aesthetics of the class?

    Tank vs Heal

Would you say tanking is really effective if not more so than healing when the tank is skilled and has a pocket healer? Summed up: Is healing better alone, but a healer and a tank makes a beasty combination?

    Tank vs Heal

I'm just wondering what is a more effective form of protection in PvP? Healing? Or tanking (taunting/guarding etc)? Assuming each is in the best respective specs.
  4. Oh so it's not something like, "you're a twi'lek, therefore you are a slave." hmmm?
  5. Hi, I'm not wondering any major major spoilers, but I'm wondering what made the sith inquisitor a slave in the first place? I believe I know that the sith pureblood inquisitor comes from a family who did bad stuff and therefore became slaves, but what about others...rattataki? Twi'lek? I'm considering rolling a Chiss Inquisitor...whom would probably have the same story as a rattataki or twi'lek no doubt? Just curious. Please respond! Thanks!
  6. I'm a very musical person so I picked "Ossia" for my legacy name. It's a musical term for an alternative passage which may be played instead of the original passage. It often builds off of the the original melody and overall makes the piece more powerful. The word ossia comes from the Italian for "alternatively" and was originally spelled o sia, meaning "or be it" (Fallows 774). How does that apply to SWTOR and my characters? I typically play pretty neutral characters. I never do things that are so "light side" that they're stupid, yet I never kill someone out right for no reason. There's always an ALTERNATIVE. And many times, in my perception, the alternative is more powerful. Just like an ossia. Plus I think Ossia really roles off the tongue. Master Ossia, Lord Ossia, Agent Ossia, Commander Ossia...
  7. Cull doesn't require Tactical Advantage for Snipers. And I've seen some good builds out there of Sniper Engineering/Lethality Hybrid. Like this: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#400bZrI00ozZGbbkrrhdM.1
  8. Hi, I LOVE the storyline for the IA, but I have a small problem. I don't love the idea of stealthing to win and I don't like the idea of sitting around and shooting with no mobility. With my research I have found that the Lethality Operative can be effective without stealth and the Lethality Sniper has a ton of mobility and doesn't have to hide/crouch and shoot constantly in order to win. It seems they are played similarly, as is mobility with mid-ranged DPS. But my question is which one is more effective? Lethality Sniper or Lethality Operative?
  9. But no class can be a true free agent and no class can go to both worlds and take missions from both sides. I think what he's saying is a BH can become a "free agent" just like the IA becomes a "free agent." Am I wrong? So is the SW pretty much the only one that cannot go against the will of the Emperor and free themselves from the Empire's grasp?
  10. So the BH and the SW have to stay true to the Empire then?
  11. Is there any Imperial Class (IA, BH, SI, SW) that has the option of rebelling against the Sith Empire and/or the Dark Council? Going solo instead of obeying orders? Story-wise, that is. (Solo PvE, not PvP or Group PvE)
  12. First off, I already think that electrostaves should be a viable weapon of choice for the assassin/shadow. But here I present a new idea. Seeing as though they're already pretty much melee ragne; would it be at all possible for the Powertech and Vanguard to be able to use techblades? The "Advanced Prototype" and "Tatics" trees for each respective AC might be changed to benefit techblades? Qyzen Fess already uses techblades and has primary stats of aim and endurance, just like the Vanguard/Powertech. This isn't a thread saying, "THIS SHOULD HAPPEN," (though I think it would be really cool) as it is more a thread saying, "Would this ever be possible and would you like this?" Since day 1 I have been disappointed that there is no true melee, non-force class. I consider vanguards/powertechs/scoundrels/operatives not true melee due to their being in melee range, but still mainly shooting things. Maybe future expansions we'll get a class of this type?
  13. I like this class a lot, but I want to play light side and I don't want to be decked in all metal and machinery. I like hoods and cloaks and the sort. Must all juggernauts be decked in machinery? Or is there a plentiful amount of armor that looks more like cloth?
  14. Do you find yourself in stealth most often?
  15. Well...I'll use stealth for things like sneaking into an enemy's base. But I hate stealthing in my own base, and cheaply ****** people who come in, and I hate sneaking around midfield and taking out people without them seeing you coming. Its a wussy approach. I like to walk up to them and BAM. They're dead. If you really don't think I should be a shadow, what do you think I should be? http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=458#Kins <----this link was very helpful, thank you!! I might go a hybrid KC/balance spec like this. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#601rsrokrskZZf0cRr0z.1
  16. I love saberstaves. I love combining melee with the force. Therefore, I really want to be a Jedi Shadow, or maybe a Sith Assassin. Here's my problem. I HATE STEALTH. I realize the infiltration tree is dependent on stealth. But is the balance tree dependent on stealth? I know the KC tree isn't stealth-reliant due to it being a tank spec, but it doesn't do good damage, and you can't PvP with it...can you? I'm interested in non-stealth PvP, by means of good survivability, damage, and some stuns. I've also been known for using a lot of AOE mechanics. I like to be the center of attention, what can I say? Summary of thread: Is KC a viable PvP spec? Can KC do good damage? Is Balance reliant on stealth? Would an AC of the knight or warrior be a better bet for me? Thanks in advance.
