  1. The concert stage appears to be able to be placed on both starship and centerpiece hooks. At least, I have mine on a centerpiece hook. Still not an ideal decoration because usually at least half of my musicians and dancers spawn on the ground rather than on the stage, but at least they can be placed there (and occasionally I get lucky and they are all on the stage). Where have you tried putting it? Is there a new bug surrounding this deco?
  2. There are tons of decos I've never touched from all sorts of sources. And I don't know if I've ever bought reputation gear. At least these decos have a clear niche. Use them or don't. Maybe someone wants an Atlantis-themed hotel and casino on Nar Shaddaa. Actually...hmmm. Hold on, I'm headed to Nar Shaddaa.
  3. There was a server-wide stronghold contest on The Harbinger in 2017, conducted by a player called Quintain. It wasn't official, obviously, but Musco saw it and contributed some Cartel Coin codes to give out to winners. It was thoughtfully done; Quintain made a video of his favorite rooms from at least 10 of the strongholds, which was fun to see, and he gave out prizes to 6 strongholds. At the time, he was envisioning a series of contests with a different focus each time--this one he was looking for "flow," or a feel that it was some place you might find in-game somewhere--but I'm pretty sure he never held any more. It looked like he put a ton of work into it, so I can't blame him if he wasn't anxious to do it again. The thread for the contest is here. Anyway, my takeaways from the story of this contest: 1. A series of decorating contests, or one with multiple winners for different categories (e.g., creative theme, clever decoration use, transformation of the space, or blending in with the world) seems like a good route to go, so that decorators with a range of ideas, tastes, and talents can have a chance. 2. A small panel of judges could also help the inevitable blowback from people who don't understand how judging is subjective. 3. And remember if you do something server-wide, you might get free Cartel Coin coins to give out!
  4. As casirabit mentioned, the smallest are the fleet strongholds (hard to get at the moment if you don't have Galactic Seasons tokens saved up) or the Dromund Kaas/Coruscant (cheap and easy to get...not sure the current price, but they may even go on sale for the anniversary). If what you want is a really small stronghold--some people mention Kaliyo's apartment as an ideal--then you can add walls to block off excess parts of either of those strongholds. E.g., cover up the doors at the back of the central room of the station penthouse apartment, or block off half the hallway of the Dromund Kaas/Coruscant apartments. The map would show that there's more there, but to anyone standing in the apartment, it's just a cozy 1-bedroom apartment, or whatever you turn it into. There's the Penthouse decoration bundles that have walls and doors etc., and also some walls sold by the Martial Decoration Droid. One wrinkle in this plan is that most of the walls won't reach high ceilings, so you can 1) put them places where the ceilings are relatively low (the Dromund Kaas/Coruscant first 3 rooms' ceilings are just a tiny bit taller than the penthouse set walls), 2) use the ceiling decorations in the penthouse bundles to force the room to have a low ceiling, or 3) live with the gap at the top. Anyway, if you play around with the options, find some walls that blend in to your satisfaction, I think you could do something cool with a small apartment.
  5. My recommendations would be 1) Zakuulan Standing Floor Lamps--These come from Star Fortresses and fit on small, medium narrow, and medium hooks so are pretty versatile. They do give off light at a nice level of brightness, and the affected area is a good size. 2) Luminous Sconce: Yellow--These give off a fairly bright light, though I think the size of the affected area isn't huge. But they go on small wall hooks, which means that they can go between the windows in the two underwater side rooms, and even, if you like, on the ceiling hook in those rooms, which is actually a small wall hook. They are apparently in the Corporate Retreat Decoration Bundle, but they were also in an older pack, and you may find them sporadically on the GTN. TOR Decorating has a list of lights that actually give off light (may not be complete): https://tord.mmo-fashion.com/category/database/database-themes/miscellaneous/casts-light-yes/ but I think for your situation--trying to brighten the dark Manaan underwater rooms--the above might be good options.
  6. Thanks--Yes, it's the Sarlacc pit: the view while being slowly digested. I was amused by the thought of submitting it, but while it is representative of one aspect of Tatooine, it's not particularly pretty or complex. So I went with the view from the balloon. But it could have been a fun decoration to have
  7. I love these! People did a really nice job--I don't know how the judges are going to be able to choose! I had fun doing these and was pretty pleased with how a few of them turned out. I did lots of waiting to capture the right moment when some particular sky animation was activating, which I see some other people did (e.g., those three ships on Ord Mantell). Maybe the funniest part of the experience doing these screenshots was sending my companion to kill NPCs that spawned in my frame. I'd be setting up a good shot, standing in just the right place, facing just the right way, and then some droid would respawn and start cruising across my screen. Shae, please escort that droid off my set immediately. Anyway, here are mine (the links on the planet names are the ones I submitted): One link for all the ones I submitted here: https://imgur.com/a/nPROLvW More on each individual planet below: Makeb Tatooine Ossus Tython Zakuul Yavin Ord Mantell Mek-Sha
  8. Not saying it wasn't, merely that it's annoying the first time you try to accept the one without the other. Everyone else's suggestions here are things that have "always been that way," so ? Just offering another suggestion that could be the cause in case it's helpful.
  9. I encountered this--missed a group forming because of it. I had to accept the "Prep Work" mission on the console (in this case, it was Prep Work: Scyk Belly) before the person who gives the WB ingredient quest would talk to me. Kind of annoying, since there's no real reason you'd know that.
  10. Rescue RESCUE! I feel the need to add my voice to the chorus of people asking that you not make us choose between Rescue/Extrication and Force Barrier. There are lots of different perspectives, but mine is specifically as someone who has had a Sage healer main since launch, participating in weekly raid groups consistently all 10 years. Nothing makes me feel like I'm playing a Sage healer as much as Rescue. It feels satisfyingly powerful, and lets you be the "responsible adult in the room." Pay attention--get over here! What are you standing in?? There are a few ops fights where Rescue is pretty consistently handy, but the best uses are the random times where, out of the blue, someone needs a rescue and your quick reaction time saves the day. It encourages and rewards raid awareness in healers. A healer (almost) never gets thanked for healing--that's their job--but when I throw out a perfectly timed rescue, that's when I'm most likely to get a relieved "Thank you!" That said, Force Barrier has been, well, "God Bubble" ever since it came out. It's saved my life more times than I can remember. The problem is that ultimately, a healer has to keep themselves alive in order to do any healing. When it comes down to choosing between something that will save my life (Force Barrier) and something that might help save someone else's life if they happen to be in a bad situation and I happen to notice it (Rescue), the responsible choice is going to be Force Barrier every time. But that breaks my heart because it means we'll miss out on all the unexpected, awesome moments that we've enjoyed since launch.* If the concern is whether the skills make this experience feel like you are playing a [sage]?, then the answer is no. Please don't make Sage healers give up Rescue to have Force Barrier! *A rescue anecdote from a recent raid, just for fun...
  11. From the patch notes: Is it opposite day? The Violet Crystal Container is now indistinguishable from the Purple Crystal Container. The Crimson Crystal Container is now indistinguishable from the Orange Crystal Container. Screenshots here--Can you tell which is which? I swear these are different decos in each picture! If those were the colors they were trying to "match," then mission accomplished. But it doesn't make sense. Crimson is described as a "rich, deep red color, inclining to purple" (thanks, Wikipedia). This is what it was before. Now it's orange, which is clearly not right. Purple is a more ambiguous color description than violet, but certainly there's a color range that it could occupy that is not violet. Before the patch they were different. If you want to switch them (make the old purple now called violet, and the old violet now called purple) then that's fine, but at least make them different. There's no reason to reduce the variety in decorations that we used to have by making what should be different decorations look identical. I'm not sure whether the Viridian or Storm Crystal Containers were changed as intended or if they were messed up as well. I have a setup of crystal containers in one of my strongholds that has a gradient of colors, and the Crimson and Violet stood out terribly since they now replicate other colors already in the display.
  12. That's the old Campaign/Dread Guard head piece for Consulars. The way to get it now, as far as I know, is to get lucky with the Alliance supply crates: Remnant Dreadguard Consular set
  13. Oh right, red and green crystals are great, and red and green datacrons (strength and endurance) can be nice, too. There are some red and green wall lights, but they may be difficult to get in large quantities. You could experiment with putting together trophy decorations that have red and green hues (e.g., Gharj for red, Writhing Horror for green).
  14. I redecorate parts of my Tatooine resort for Life Day. Replace the potted plants and ceiling lights with Life Day ones, replace some of the fountains with the large icicle decoration. Last year I had a little toys-and-presents display: holo tree with the train going around at the center, surrounded by a few model pets (e.g., model sandcrawler, model skiff) that look like toys, plus the Engraved Reliquary and Tribal Chest that, in context, kind of resemble wrapped presents. The other useful non-Life Day decorations that come to mind are the snowy paintings (Hoth, White Scalene from the Gree reputation vendor, maybe Alderaan since it has the snow-capped mountain), the Spacer's Wall Lights, which have four points but are slightly reminiscent of snowflakes, and the Sith Ice Sculpture from the Conquest Vendor (if its kneeling stature doesn't clash with your theme too much). The Stone Wall from the Martial Decoration Droid is a bit frosty, so looks cool (excuse the pun) if you cover the walls of a room with them (they fit on medium narrow hooks!). You can also use the snow-climate animal mounts and pets (e.g., tauntauns, tundra nekarr cat, ice trompers, rimefrost whitefang). I'm definitely going to look for that!
  15. I got mine off the GTN from people who were selling them. Not sure if you're willing to buy from other players, or if you're against owning any items originating from the Cartel Market. In any case, you could try the Starship Chair (Tan), from the Universal Prefab droid--these also go on small hooks and can be lined up to look bench-like. But they don't match the Manaan color scheme as well. The small cafe tables and executive's shrubs are available with prefabs. A couple other small plants are available with prefabs (brown shrub, weed flowers). Faction-specific standing flags are available from the PVP decoration vendor on fleet, and the crystals are obtained from conquest rewards (and probably there are some non-expensive ones listed on the GTN from players who completed their conquests). Cantina Stools (Fancy) from Synthetic Prefabs also hide well in other things, if you don't have a lot of pets or want to use them elsewhere
  16. I have a circlet that suppresses hoods, which fits with the outfits that I put on my Sage, but I can imagine it would not be a good match for many other characters and outfits where a circlet would be out of place. A Covert Energy Headpiece seems like a simple thing to do, given that they already have the mechanics for it. This is low-hanging fruit that would make a lot of players happy, so I don't know why they haven't done it yet.
  17. Yes! I would love more slots! I have alts with just one or two outfits each, but I use my main for over 95% of the group content I do, so she has all the outfits. All 16 slots have been filled for a long time, and I've overwritten maybe a couple dozen previously saved outfits. Some I might not miss so much, but at least 6 of them I still feel bad about losing from rotation--and at least one or two had an expensive dye that was unfortunately stamped only on the outfit, so it would take a lot of credits to make that outfit again. Anyway, if they could increase to 24 or 32, that would be great! We used to only be allowed 4 strongholds, and now we can have 10, so maybe they can find a way to handle more outfits. Adding hood toggles and weapons to outfits would be awesome, of course, but that would require the introduction of something entirely new to the game, rather than just increasing the max, which seems technically simpler. I don't know--we can always hope.
  18. My MVP for the small hooks on Manaan has been the Executive's Loveseat. They fit on small hooks, but you can line them up to make a bench. A few examples: https://imgur.com/M2PXF7Y https://imgur.com/qDI1U2Z I've also used Voss-ka street lamps, small cafe tables, executive's shrubs, standing flags, and crystals (the utility harvesting nodes). Here's my indoor hallway: https://imgur.com/4OnkVMG
  19. Good to know! Did you report it as a bug? There was a time when the Conspicuous Consumption Probe pet didn't have its gold coins when placed as a decoration. I think I made a bug report--probably a bunch of people did, or maybe it was a thread in the Bug Reports forum--but in a later update it got its coins. The one catch is that it counts towards the 25 NPC limit, but I think it's worth it for the animation. So we can hope the Mischievous Miniprobe gets the same treatment.
  20. I haven't experimented extensively, but I've never heard any suggestion that it takes quality of items into account--just quantity of items placed in the stronghold. And I can say that all my strongholds with 100% hook usage have the same prestige score, so that supports that. As you say, personal prestige is +100 for each unique decoration (mounts, pets, companions don't count towards this score), and +2 for each additional unlocked after the first. The prestige of a stronghold is the % decorated multiplied by your personal prestige--or your personal prestige doubled, if you're a subscriber. So you picked up a decoration from your 100% Nar Shaddaa stronghold, and you went from 319,332 (your personal prestige of 159,666 x 2) to 318,659 (=474/475*319,332, and I guess they round down) stronghold prestige. And when you consumed a new deco from the CM, you gained +100 personal prestige (up to 159,766), and +200 stronghold prestige (up to 319,532).
  21. I waste way too much inventory space carrying around toys, but I hate to be missing a good one when the situation calls for it. I recommend: Credit Flip: When you're waiting for someone, or just want to play it cool. Feign Death: When someone makes a bad joke, or says something dumb, or you otherwise want to let them know they're just killing you. You can also trick people into attempting to loot you. I also use it at the end of EC when they just start dropping bombs all over you while you're still there picking up Kephess loot. What is up with that? Gree Hypergate: Fun to change outfits while using this. I use it to make myself invisible to take screenshots sometimes (cut off the channel at the right time and you'll be invisible except for your weapon and shadow), and as a "cure" when our troll of a Vanguard makes me invisible with his Transpose. Camping: Pull the campfire out whenever someone has a pet summoned. Especially if it's an orobird or grophet. Yum! Celebration Mishap: Good for a celebration. Or for annoying people. Music Therapy Probe: This one's great because it heals the whole group and makes people dance. Those are probably my essentials. I also generally carry around Loosen Up, Holocall, Fashion Check, One-handed Handstand, Orbital Kolto Strike, Remote Control Starship, and Life Day Orb, among others, but I'm a little crazy so I can't say they're useful in as many situations. Just fun.
  22. I also can't select the large hooks in the Patrol Carrier hallways. I submitted a bug report, too, but haven't yet checked if there are any threads in the Bug Report forum. Not only have the Tusken Floor Partitions been changed from rug hooks to medium floor hooks, they have been renamed "Tribal Floor Partition." That's probably why you can't find it on your list of all decorations. If there's a problem that it won't let you select it to pick up from a rug hook, are you able to place a different decoration on the rug hook, to force it to be picked up? If that doesn't work (for instance, if you can't even select the rug hook anymore), then I don't know how you can recover it.
  23. I like your kitchen! I also felt compelled to put a kitchen in that space (Views 1, 2, and 3), and I see you came up with the same combo of the Yavin fountain and the Merchant's Work Table that I did (I even did it on Coruscant, too). I tried pairing it with the other tables of the same design that go on the medium-narrow hooks (so annoying that the Merchant's table itself needs a medium), but it flows well enough with the Basic Civilian Table, which has things on top that make a bit more sense. Maybe I'll go back to that. I like the fruit stand--I wish there were more decorations with food-looking things that don't have a canopy, but I think how you've put it at the end works. I like the Security Mainframes(?) you've put to either side of the stove to make it extend a little longer. And your overall layout works--having the counter reach into the middle of the room on the end with the doorway fills the space without creating any overly narrow spaces. Sorry for the very specific comments, but I spent a lot of time playing around with that room, and you've given me some ideas. Hooks can be so tricky--they're a crazy puzzle.
  24. Haha, yes, I'm a stanchion hog. I invested a lot of credits collecting a whole bunch over many months for my zoo on Tatooine. When they announced the server mergers, I sent a toon over to a second server so I could have double Yavin and Manaan strongholds. At that point, we didn't expect them to duplicate decos (they said they would not, but it was controversial), but then they did. I was very lucky, but that's how I had enough spares to do the railing. If only I'd transferred to a third server I'd have triple, but I'm very happy to have what I have. By the way, I love your beach party. I'd love to go there! Thank you! High praise coming from you. I loved how you put the banners in your living room sideways. The walls are so high in that room, and I think that somehow balances the room nicely. Can't wait to see what you do with the rest of your place
  25. Here's the album of my Rishi Overlook home. I haven't finished the whole stronghold, yet, but I'd love to live here! https://imgur.com/a/Rhrpy5U Below are links to my two best completed strongholds: my Yavin IV Jedi Academy and my Tatooine Resort. I'll make an album for my Manaan resort once they fix the bug so I can access the upper level again. Yavin IV Jedi Academy. My computer is pretty bad so I can't make tour videos myself, but I was lucky enough to win a contest on the Harbinger last year where the . I've made some updates since then, but you can get a general feel for it. Note that they do interpret some of the decorating differently than I intended. I won't say they're wrong, though, because a stronghold is what you make of it! Tatooine Resort.
