    Is SWTOR dying?

There have been multiple posts removed from this thread over the last hour or so, they are watching don't worry. I'm not sure why you think a thread discussing the issues that Bioware has to address should be deleted.

EQ actually still has a pretty strong playerbase. Most of the people referring to how hardcore and great EQ was, are referring to the old days of EQ. Having to grind everything, training people, Zek rules PvP (the only rule of Zek PvP was there are no rules), camping a spawn for 2 weeks at a time without seeing a single spawn, etc. Since then the game has been fit to cater to a bit more of a carebear style compared to the old days. Long story short, people who talk about how much they loved EQ, aren't playing it anymore because it's simply not anywhere near the same game. That along with the fond memories of playing a game that was absolutely revolutionary for its time, and that feeling always fades.

You just proved one of the inherent problems with the game by trying to make your argument... The argument you made was that in order to stay interested in this MMO that the person needs to make a totally different character and play the game all over again. That's like me saying the ID game "Rage" was way too short. And you reply by telling me that it's not short if you re-play it 4-5 times. The whole point of an MMO is to engulf yourself in your 1 avatar and enjoy exploring the world and experiencing the game as that character (even more so in a game that encourages role-playing). PS. I'm curious what you would suggest someone like myself do, who has finished the story of all 4 main classes on my chosen faction. Would you honestly suggest I start rolling characters on the opposite faction to continue to enjoy this game? And if so, do you honestly still think that Bioware/EA delivered a good MMO and not just a fun single player game with a chatbox?

If you need that comment explained then you do not deserve an answer.

Go read a book kid. This is a video game. I've been an avid Star Wars fan and Star Wars lore fan for the last 20 years. That being said I've also been an avid gamer for the last 20 years as well. It's not unreasonable for people to want an actual MMO to go with the lore when the game was released as an MMO. I love the story and the process of leveling up and I would love more than anything for Bioware to push out the quality and content that I want to play. But the sad truth is that they have yet to deliver anything outside of the 1-50 fun. I want more than anything for this game to succeed BECAUSE of the lore. As a single player RPG rich with story Bioware/EA delivered an A+ game worthy of accolades, as a MMO they have utterly failed so far.

^^this The sad truth is that out of the 6-7 friends that were super pumped about this game and started up with me. I am the only person who even logs in anymore and the ONLY reason I'm able to continue playing the game is because I've been leveling alts. Unfortunately I'm about to finish the 4th story on Empire side so the only "game" that this mmo has is about to end for me.

The way I see it... SW:ToR is on a timer. Either Bioware buckles up and fixes the fact that there is NOTHING to do in this game at 50 (especially for PvP) before GWII launch or it dies. I've seen nothing but hype from Bioware talking about how 1.2 is going be the savior but I'm skeptical. Maybe they will deliver and that will make me very happy. All I know for sure is that I've been one of this games biggest supporters for a VERY long time. But I'm also a competitive PvPer, and if Bioware refuses to offer me something besides rated WZ's I'll be jumping ship as soon as that "other game's" life boat comes floating by.
  8. If you want big burst numbers then you want Rage. Jug has higher burst in rage because they have an additional 15% on smash. Rage Marauder can still put out a big smash but not quite as big. The difference is that as a rage jug you just die instantly and there's nothing you can do about it outside your 3min cd that reduces some damage where as Marauders have amazing survivability (4-5 extra defensive CD's on 60 second cooldowns that Jugs do not have). Also note that the Anni spec for Mara can produce some big hits with Annihilate (around 3.8k) and some really heavy damage over a 7 second period or so (low duration heavy hitting dots). The majority of top level Mara's prefer Annihilation but Rage is still viable.
  9. Just a friendly heads-up. If you're level 20 and complaining about having to use 10 keys, roll a different class because by level 50 you should have around 24 binds.
  10. Hate to sound like a broken record here, but you're simply doing it wrong... To the OP: Marauders are great at interrupting, have good mobility, extremely high single target dps, good self heals (Anni), bloodlust, and amazing survivability.
  11. YES! BRING BALANCE TO THE MOST STABLE AND BALANCED CLASS IN THE GAME! MARAUDERS DEMAND JUSTICE!
  12. No he means 3 stacks of the buff that Annihilate gives that reduces the cooldown on the ability. OP: YES, it's amazing.
  13. Here's a friendly tip: Spec Annihilation, ACTUALLY GIVE SOME GEAR TO QUIN, and enjoy steamrolling through all single player leveling content the game has to offer like it's nothing. O and also, click your buttons.
  14. Watchman is probably the strongest single target sustained DPS spec, it also has a lot of good utility (such as self heals and an extra damage immunity for 4 seconds) and a lower cooldown charge with reduced min range (I only put 1 point into min range because you shouldn't use it while meleeing. Combat is kind of in a sad state IMO. There is a small window where combat will be able to put out damage a little faster than Watchman. You can stay competitive but watchman will out-perform from my experience. You get some nice roots and a snare breaker, but that's not really important in PvE. Rage's niche is AoE burst damage, I could see it being OK in PvE on very specific AoE oriented fights but other than that it will really struggle to keep up. By far the worst single target sustained damage spec. You also get an extra short range charge, but it is not a big deal in PvE. My opinion in a nutshell: For PvP: Watchman For PvE: Watchman. Rage has a gimmick spot in PvP for big numbers and it's pretty fun and exciting to play, while Combat has a spot in PvP due to the extra roots and snare breaker. But in the end I can't give up the raw single target damage/self heals/lower cooldown and lower range charge/damage immunity that Watchman provides.
