  1. unless its a crit of course... crits go straight through shields. and everyone stacks crit for pvp.
  2. Yes they are. Alderaan commendation bought. Another alternative are the boots from the light side vendor on the fleet.
  3. Stealth Scan should be off the GCD (like Riot Strike).. and force run effect should cancel as soon as any stealth effect is applied.
  4. its not a grenade.. its a block of time delayed plastic explosive. if it was a grenade im guessing it would be called assault grenade. its high damage in a small localised area, as it has no frangible casing (the bit that gives a grenade its shrapnel spewing large AOE). and the tooltip is wrong.. like many many other tooltips.
  5. Hmm.. well I've tried the shield and power gen.. and really didn't see much of a marked survivabilty improvement with the shield. Just doesnt seem to proc much (as most incoming damage is tech/force/ or even just plain crits).. and if/when it does its not really much of a incoming dmg decrease unless your gearing/speccing for that absorb. Also, for it to work people need to be hitting you (not an issue when solo i know) - if it proc'd off guard damage that would be another issue entirely. Whereas the extra dmg from the power gen is helping all the time, to kill stuff faster, which also reduces damage in its own way. Would be nice if we had a working combat log to get some solid data behind these theorys/observations.
  6. I have no complaints about dmg and survivabilty with my current 10/31 build - even solo. Whilst it obviously wont compete with a full 31 pt assault spec.. I last much much longer due to shockabsorbers / hold the line etc. And i wouldnt bother using the shield gen.. the un-buffed 20% chance to mitigate 20% dmg of a very small number of incomming attacks just isnt worth sacrficing the extra dps that the power gen provides imo... but each to their own I guess.

White with blue stripe - player made - outcast helmet White with light grey stripe - Belsavis 2+ Herioc Off White with Green stripe - Belsavis 2+ Heroic Those are all of the moddable Cody/Scout Trooper helmets in game that im aware of.
  9. power relic + crit buff + power stim + wz expertise pickup + power/surge mods (replace the stock mods that contain accuracy - doing this also puts you into a point where surge is in diminshing returns - thus the power stims/relic). that should do it.

    that my point... if the targets armour value is already 0.. the ability still has to hit for a minimum of 9000 in order to get a 9000 hit... you cant reduce the mitigation to a value below 0. there HAS to be a buff being applied somewhere. and its most probably the stacking dmg buff from Gravity Vortex stacks.

    if the BH has 650+ and the target has 0 that would be around a 25% buff to the BH's dmg yes. would still mean the ability has to hit for 7250?

    stacking a debuff wont magnify the abilities damage over the maximum amount if the targets resistances are 0. what will do that however is if the debuff ALSO applies a stacking dmg buff.. which is what happens for Demolition Round for each stack of Gravity Vortex. Especially if that dmg buff isnt player limited and stacks with other players dmg buffs from their own applied Gravity Vortex stacks... So the trick is to have lots of Commandos all applying thier own stacks of Gravity Vortex, and all use Demo Round for OMGWTFBBQ damage. Yeah that should probably be bug fixed tbh....

    thats.. ermm... interesting... as even with wz expertise buff + power relic + rakata power stim + full battlemaster with power&surge mods + marauder dmg buff + 30% extra crit dmg talents.. no BH abilities can hit for that much. 5 or 6k possibly... but 9k.. the maths just doesnt work unless im missing something. are you sure its not taking 3 simultaneous 3k hits from death from above and tallying them together?
  15. you dont pvp because its fun? Go get a job or something. pvp is more fun when its balanced. gear is a contributing factor to that.
