  1. Just dinged 21 on Dromund Kaas and now I'm done with the game. I can't go another 10 levels without Affliction or Crushing Darkness - Affliction was always my opener under 6.X - I'm not looking forward to another 47 levels without Whirlwind, I miss insta-casting Chain Lightning, and the first choices we get to make at 23 don't look at all interesting. Simply put, I feel like a wiiffle bat compared to what I could by now under 6.X, and would never feel inclined to try an alt under 7.0.
  2. Dinged 15 this afternoon. Given there are now 80 levels in the game, I can understand why 7.0 spread the abilities out more evenly - so you always get something every four levels - but I am not at all hqppy about having to wait until 23 to make my first ability tree choice. What I especially don't understand is the logic behind their decision to move to certain abilities to later levels. For example, as a newbie under 6.X, I would've had Crushing Darkness and Affliction - our two DoTs - at levels 10 and 16 respectively. Now we don't get CD until 23, or Affliction - our most potent DoT - until 31?? 6.X used to grant Whirlwind - our first CC ability - at level 7. Now we don't get it until 68?? How do those examples make any sense?? Incidentally, I'm 17 now and about to board the Black Talon in Story mode.
  3. Decided to try 7.0 from a different angle and pretend I'm a newbie. I re-rolled my Sorc and got him to 11 last night. Speaking from that pov, if I were really a newbie, I'd be wondering why there's such a gap in abilities between lower levels. I would've had Chain Lightning under 6.X by now but after reaching 11 last night I learned it's not granted until 15?! Sorry, I was referring to the 6.X Discipline system.
  4. It's playable, but abilities that are no longer granted at the levels they used to be, coupled with my lack of excitement for the new tree, are what drove me away. I miss the point system.
  5. Made it to level 10 and just can't do it. I'm just going to chalk this experience up to a month's sub down the drain. Best wishes to everyone.
  6. Just found this guide and may try working with it: SWTOR 7.0 Lightning Sorcerer PvE Guide and Best Builds - VULKK.com
  7. I came back this week to try a light-side Sorc, hoping I could adapt to 7.0's ability tree changes. I was wrong but I'm paid up for the month after renewing my sub and part of me wants to give the changes a fair shake while running a dark-side Sorc instead.
  8. Good morning. I left SWTOR shortly after 7.0 went live. Against my better judgement, I've returned for now because I want to try a light-side Sorc, but I'm dismayed to find that I still don't have Lightning Storm at level 6. I can't find any leveling guides that aren't YT videos, so would someone please tell me when Sorcs get Lightning Storm under 7.0, if at all? Thanks.
  9. 1:10pm CST here and same issue. Tried twice, no dice.
  10. EDIT: Message removed do to lack of feedback.
  11. Last night, I installed Windows 10 v1903. Moments ago, I decided to re-install the game and take my Consular for a spin. The installer just told me my 800 GB of available storage isn't enough. Three additional attempts reported the same. EDIT: Problem solved though I don't know how. After checking the storage on all my drives I tried running the installer a fourth time and it finally worked.
  12. Wow... that... actually... makes sense. Thank you! I feel much better now.
  13. I tried that but it's hard to do when she's bare-faced with other NPCs. That would not surprise me if true. I didn't know Anthem was out, though I have no interest in it. I was going to play my Jugg long enough to see her reach DS V but I may just forget about her and focus on my Sage. I once saved the galaxy with a Guardian a couple years ago. Then, I conquered it with an Inquisitor. Afterward, I decided to save it again as a Jedi and rolled a Sage. Being pure evil was fun but I missed the feels I enjoyed serving the light. She's currently on KOTFE Chapter XII.
  14. Soon after the Resilient Warden armor was made available for purchase on the CM, I rolled a female Sith because I wanted to see what DS V corruption would look like on her with the first decent re-breather I've seen since the game launched. I PL'ed her to 70 during the last 2x event. She's currently DS III and I am very pleased so far. I love how the re-breather's angled lines and spiked edges frame her corrupted appearance. I cannot wait to see her go full dark. That said, I'd like to know why, after 8 years online, you still haven't addressed the issue with our characters not consistently shown wearing masks or re-breathers during cut-scenes. My Jugg is always bare-faced when talking to Vette. We're currently on Balmorra and she was also bare-faced while meeting the newly stationed Sith Lord. I was so frustrated that I nearly considered my curiosity mostly satisfied and deleted her. So. What gives? Will this bug ever be squashed?
  15. You're not the only one who misunderstood the notes. I've spent the week trying to get a new Sage to 40 before the event ended, and was in-game most of this afternoon trying to finish up my goal (She's 36 now). After turning in a couple of missions a while ago, I noticed I didn't get much XP off of them. When I looked at my bar, I noticed the double XP indicators were gone. :: facepalm :: Head.... meet desk... :: thud ::
  16. I already knew, I just wanted an official citation to back me up and that was the only one I could find. In any case, I'm glad I could help.
  17. Yes they do: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=649657
  18. My process involves minimal grinding: * By all Legacy XP boosts for Class and Exploration missions. * Use Major XP boost tokens as available, consuming one as soon as the last expires. * Do every Exploration mission in every zone on every planet, including every mission's bonus objectives. * Do every HERO mission available on every planet. * Grind as many extra mobs in each mission zone as desired. My experience with the steps above has taught me that I can reach: * Level 22 by the time I'm ready to leave either side's starting planet, which lets me buy L22 gear mods for my favorite Cartel Armor in preparation for the Black Talon or Esseles. * Level 25 by the time I've completed the Black Talon or Esseles on Story mode. * Level 40 by the time I've completed every mission on either side's home world. Incidentally, The Talon and Esseles are the only FPs I ever do.
  19. hehehehe... I was once half a level away from 70 with an Inquisitor when I got overzealous during a Heroic and died, but I don't drink. Thanks everyone!
  20. One advantage of being a solo player who doesn't do PvP is being able to avoid unnecessary risks. Thanks to Major XP Boosts and my Legacy perks, I just finished leveling a Guardian without dying.
  21. Rolled a new Jugg to see if I could get him to level 40 before he got his ship and made it with extra help from top-tier Legacy boosts and Major XP tokens. I'm eager to conquer the galaxy with force chokes and saber throws!
  22. A few days ago, I rolled a new Jugg. Thanks to the current 2x event, top-tier Legacy boost for Exploration and Class missions, and the Major boost tokens we occasionally get when leveling, he reached my self-imposed goal of 40 just in time to get his ship earlier this evening. He hasn't died yet, either. In stark contrast, it took me nearly a year to take a Troll Shaman to 50 in Dark Age of Camelot back in the day, and back then you lost exponentially higher amounts of xp every time you died between levels.
  23. Thank you all for your thoughts on this topic. I appreciate the insight and was not aware Bioware's budget was never adversely affected by the voice talent or cutscenes. My nostalgia trip didn't last long... I canceled my WoW sub in 2012, shortly after Mists of Pandara was released in September that year. I couldn't stomach the idea of playing any video game - no matter the genre - that features Pandas as a playable species. I've been leveling my new Night Elf with Blizzard's free starter plan. I figured if I could enjoy my Druid enough that I wouldn't really mind so much seeing Pandas in the game. I was wrong. I just can't do it. So, I deleted him and removed the game for the last time. It's a real shame, too, because part of WoW's appeal for me was that its graphical style always made me feel like I was in a living, breathing storybook and I miss playing in that world. Bioware, it's all on you now. I'm 46 and SWTOR is the only MMO I've played since October 2012. I've lost count of the number of times I've canceled my sub over the years but you're obviously doing something right because I keep finding reasons to convince myself to return. Incidentally, two of them are the voice acting and cutscenes. SWTOR is the only MMO I've ever played that made me feel like I'm in the starring role of my own movie. Good work. Keep it up.
  24. I can assure you I'm not trolling. I loathe trolls. My question was based on a genuine feeling I experienced when I logged into WoW and interest in knowing if others feel the same regardless of personal opinions about either game.
