  1. Hello there, decided to make a return and see what all has changed. I've been playing off and on since the launch of the game and have accumulated 1 of each class over the years, mostly playing PVP on Begeren Colony and Harbinger. Just looking for a group of social nerds to re learn the game with. I enjoy group PVP and the occasional raid and dicking around in discord. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks!

  4. been playing off and on since the game launched, across different servers. had a stint here on ebon hawk in a pvp oriented guild (Tatooine Swim Team if there are any old heads still around) just looking to group and chill with regs or ops or w/e i play jugg and sniper, neither are max level yet. hmu
  5. the reset happens before the gcd is even over. is there a window during the gcd that i can pop cloak without a reset?
  6. So i finish my opener, force cloak to reset potency, go about my business for the majority of the parse. I get the dummy to sub-30 when cloak is off cooldown again. i force cloak, potency, and the dummy resets. 4 different parses have resulted in this happening. am i doing something wrong?
  7. Coming back after a year or so hiatus. I main Deception, can tank on any of the 3 available and am experienced at sorc healing. Faction doesn't really matter, I have toons on both. hm raiding and beyond is something I'm experienced with and would like to do at level 70. Also down for spamming regs or (god forbid) try to get some group ranked going. Can often be found at the GTN spending copious amounts of credits on outfits and trying to convince myself that this is the game it was 4 years ago. hmu
  8. marauders are capable of one thing: DPS why would you nerf the only reason they're brought into raids?
  9. you must be new here. PvP has never been a priority for Bioware, because PvP'ers are not, have never been, nor ever will be the majority. Most of the people who still play this game are the "casual crowd". They just log on to do their pvp dailys or do a few solo ranked matches, if they're on a server with a ranked population. Most of the people who cared about rating and were consistently on the leaderboards have either quit the game entirely, or they're just in hibernation until the season starts, which is another huge can of worms that don't belong on this thread. On the other side of the fence most, if not all, of the devs who worked on PvP have either been laid off, fired, or quit. Pretty sure there is 1 and only 1 person who works on PvP (Alex Modney) and if you've ever watched him stream his gameplay it's completely obvious that he has no clue what he's doing. If you're here for PvP you're not going to have very much fun. Enjoy the game for what it is, a AAA MMO with a $300 million dev budget that hasn't released a PvP map in 2+ years, or a new raid since December of 2014. tl;dr the people who cared about PvP are all but gone, both players and devs. What we have now is just the leftovers.

  11. Now that we're well into 4.0 and the parsing leaders are well established, I think it's time to address just how low Sorcs/Sages are parsing in comparison to the other classes. According to Goblin_Lackey's DPS rankings, Madness/Balance and Lightning/TK are parsing 13/18 and 15/18 respectively. My own findings back up these claims as well. As Madness I've been unable to break 6.7, and Lightning seems to be well behind. Below are my proposed changes to put the class in a better spot, but not totally breaking it. Madness: Increase Creeping Terror/Sever force damage by 5% Increase Affliction/Weaken Mind damage by 5% Increase Demolish/Vanquish damage by 5% Increase the total amount of Death Mark/Force suppression stacks by 5 To compensate, Pestilence/Abundant Justice continues to spread the DoT abilities as it does now on live, but at a reduced damage rate. My recommendation is Terror/Sever Force and Affliction/Weaken Mind now do 60-70% of the base damage to targets they're spread to using Pestilence/Abundant Justice. These changes will give Madness/Balance a much needed single target buff, but not be so over the top in terms of AoE damage and PvP. Lightning: Revert Reverberating Force back to its original Stat boost of 30% critical bonus damage to Chain Lightning, Lightning Flash, Crushing Darkness, and Thundering Blast. There was absolutely no reason to nerf it in the first place. With Recklessness in it's current state of not granting the extra 60% crit to Thundering Blast, I don't see any reason why this can't happen. Reduce the cooldown of Lightning Flash by 3 seconds. Reduce the cooldown rate of Lightning Storm by 3 seconds. Forked Darkness: Increase the chance of Crushing Darkness ticking twice by an additional 25% Fulgurous Fortification: Change this, replace this, do something with it. Every other spec in the game got a direct damage boost with their 64 Passive, Lightning definitely got the shaft with this one. It needs to go. Comments, questions, and concerns are encouraged.
  12. What is everyone else using? I was told all mastery by a notably well known Sorc on my server, but as I started Solo queue I noticed that the different sorcs that would pop in were all taking completely different routes in augmenting. Does anyone have arguments for Crit v Alacrity v Power v Mastery? Anyone find the sweet spot between the 4? Any info is appreciated. Edit: This thread is for Madness posts only, Lightning is garbage until they fix TB on recklessness.
  13. very similar to what I used pre-4.0 but I would suggest a minor change in the force potency window that I found to be a massive increase in boss fight dps; use force serenity before FiB. reasoning is using FiB first and hitting multiple targets will use both stacks of force potency and leave serenity critting up to chance. Otherwise, solid rotation 10/10 would take into nightmare progression.

  16. I had plans of maining sorc DPS this xpac, but after poking around on the forums and seeing rumors float about on the status of Lightning, I'm not so certain anymore. Should i jump ship to something else or are the rumors just that; rumors? EDIT: looking for PvE input, Sorcs are ruling PvP right now and that's not a secret.
  17. We are a guild of friends who ended up on Harbinger after migrating from Begeren Colony to several other servers and eventually ended up here. We saw some success in the SoR progression (7/10 HM) and called it quits around Mid-June after getting burned out on the content. We're now returning to the game and in search of several able-bodied players to fill our ranks for 4.0 Hard mode and nightmare progression for both 8man and 16man content. Currently, we have no desire to teach anyone how to play the game. If you are applying to join our team, you will already have an ample understanding of your main class and spec. You're also expected to be able to follow instruction and be punctual with raid times. Having multiple toons to be flexible with your role is always a plus too. We are in search of no specific role, as the expansion just released and we're all still deciding what we want to main.   19. something that my associates have failed to mention in previous posts is our raid times. These are yet to be determined, as we do not have a full roster and we'll need to come up with a schedule that accommodates everyone. A website for our raid group is in the works, and I will update this forum when it is complete. I encourage anyone interested in progression raiding the 4.0 content to submit an application when it's available.   20. your biggest hitters, as I'm sure you're already aware of, are Turbulence and Telekinetic Wave. Your optimal timing for burst is right after your mind crush cast (it should never be on cooldown) and use Turbulence and TK Wave, respectively. In a 4v4 arena setting, you're better off timing your Turbluence/TK Wave window with your other DPS partners burst rotation to provide maximum pressure and bait out a DCD and make the healer freak out. Regs it doesnt really matter, just spam your ability priority and things will die eventually. As far as alacrity, its just a personal preference. I personally use 3 Alacrity enhancements in my PvP setup. There are some who claim Alacrity is king and should be used as much as possible, and there are some who claim Alacrity is useless in any spec other than healing. Just play around with it and see what works for you. Hope this helped.
  21. I tanked my progression group through 7/10 HM and we got burnt out after clearing Torque. Haven't even logged into the game since late June, not sure why I'm still subbed (LOL) anywho, am I to be under the impression that no new PvE content will be released with the new expansion? I know that old content will be bumped in level and difficulty, but what about fresh, new raids? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.
