  1. Well? Sorry for the missing "i" of the Question within the title of the topic but it's a matter of correction. The Question is not so important, however I think that this addition would be nice...
  2. Thank you very-very much all! Well, this is an issue for BioWare to take care of ...; me thinks! Only Nar Shaddaa and Tattoine? I have to take it (in) face value since I run a lot of dailies with PH4-LNX on Ruhnuk and I got zero ( = 0, not ... 0!) modules... Well, what about Pazaak with PH4-LNX after achieving Legend Status with G.A.M.E.?!? Is that true? Not yet?
  3. Hi all again! I can't see -within the normal User Interface- the indication bars regarding the quality of the Internet Connection etc. However I used to!... Furthermore I can see these indication bars during Space PvE!... Any solution to this issue? Thank you in advance! P.S: however the "aforementioned" issue -regarding Pazaak matches with PH4-LNX- is a much more important issue!!
  4. Hi all! I still need almost 20k reputation points in order to achieve Legend Status with G.A.M.E. Is this still feasible? How? The same question regarding Reputation with Fen Zeil's Organization... However I have the ... suspicion that a Legend Status with G.A.M.E. will give me the opportunity to have a few Pazaak matches with PH4-LNX!! Is that correct? However the relevant ... promise was obvious within PH4-LNX speeches!
  5. This approach seems shallow to me. In real life some people make use of others (and, particularly, their subordinates) as pawns in a chess game, also some people make use of people who trust them as expendables and they despise them also; they consider trust and honesty as a fundamental liability! Other people take a different path of action, some prefer the opposite (Kantian!) approach etc. Anyways, both of them try to protect their assets, either their pawns or their companions and allies! If they are rational, that is: you don't sacrifice your pawns for nothing! Within an MMORPG some gamers make use of some NPC chars as exploration vessels, other gamers prefer to approach these NPCs as real human beings... It's a matter of taste and personality. Regarding Arcann, I never got rid of him and that for two reasons: his redemption seemed to be genuine, he is quite capable and I also wanted to ally with his powerful mother, another valuable asset for the Alliance and a pretty decent human being! That said, I decided to take care of Arcann: my approach obliges me to protect him, to make use of his skills also. Therefore I decided to help him with Sana-Rae, it's the only option given to me by the Force ... and BioWare! Thus I advise the initiator of this interesting thread to play 7.1 with just one more character of her and repeat the normal choice to help Arcann in his important and critical quest. All the other chars of her should wait of course!
  6. Life is one thing and it shouldn't be compared with an MMORPG which is, clearly, another thing. The real question is: is Arcann lost to us if he goes alone .. ... or ... ... both Arcann and Sana-Rae are lost to us if we send Sana as a reinfonceremnt? The other arrangement is that Arcann survives but gains nothing alone while they succeed as a team or ... a pair! A third arrangement is that Arcann succeeds alone while he also falls in love with Sana-Rae if they work as a team! The latter option is not a win-win situation for sure; they could give birth to a Valcorion's grandson ... with a lot of unpredictable repercussions! Otherwise the choice is pointless, namely a waste of time!
  7. To be honest this connection should not be taken for granted. On the contrary Darth Baras is the main enemy of The Emperor during the first part of SW:TOR, Darth Vowrawn is just Baras' highest ranking opponent. A possible explanation is that Vowrawn is afraid of Baras' ambitions, however Vowrawn doesn't care at all about the containment of The Emperor... Another point is quite intriguing and interesting. Reading Exal's declaration about I had in mind her reference to her devotion, love and His exploitation of their sexual relationship. A more cautious study of the comic reveals that it wasn't only about all that! However the storylines of all four Force Users is connected to the Children of the Emperor or the conclusion of the SW:TOR;BotE comic: Jedi Knight's Kira Carsen was a Child of the Emperor and our JK succeeds because The Emperor is weakened because of Baras' plot, the main antagonist of our Jedi Consular is The Emperor's First Son, the Sith Warrior takes care of Baras' plot, he/she kills The Emperor's trapped shell and he becomes the reason for the rise of a new but weak Emperor's shell, our Sith Inquisitor's main antagonist is Darth Thanaton himself.
  8. It was a joy to read again all the three (3) issues of the Star Wars: The Old Republic old (2010-2011) comic: Blood of the Empire (BotE), a genuine and comforting work of art, written by SW:TOR author Alexander Freed. As it is a real joy to remember another Star Wars masterpiece, namely SW:KotOR2;TSL. I'm trying not to mention all these Disney's Star Wars naiveties and nonsenses and make comparisons, I prefer to avoid negativity during this period. By the way, I do think that Star Wars should be more often about brave, skilled and powerful Force Users dealing with common human dilemmas and issues: duty vs. virtue or purpose, "right or wrong", redemption, loss, freedom and self-liberation, search for the truth vs. safety of convenience and conformism and all those important issues, these "Fanfares for the common human beings". Dealing with either all-powerful Force Users or would-be Gods of Force Users (like BioWare's Valcorion and ... Disney's Palpatine) is useful and fruitful, however its abusive (and compulsive) use may become counter-productive because it alienates the Star Wars Universe from the reality of human life: life is not only about the core of the fear of death combined with the quest for immortality and delusions of grandeur... And the vast majority of Star Wars fans care about dealing with their inner demons or realistic challenges, issues and dilemmas, they don't have the ambition to deliver a fatal blow to the Devil Himself!! For the same reason a very weak ("in the Force") and uncertain (or unimportant) Force User as the protagonist tends -as a rule!...- to be less fascinating also. Of course Valcorion, namely an undead Force User, is extremely useful for SW:TOR, an MMORPG that has the ambition to last for decades following the attempts of his charming antagonist. However, enough is enough. Let us pay a visit (at last!) to the main object of our thread. In the aforementioned SW:TOR;BotE comic the protagonist is a skilled, brave, resilient and, above all, utterly dedicated and idealistic (masterless by then) Sith Acolyte, Teneb Kel. His task (in order to make amends for being taught by a "heretic" and, in fact, "too ambitious" Sith Lord) is an immense surprise for him, particularly because he deeply admires and idealizes the doctrines and the beliefs of the Sith: to track down and destroy another Sith Acolyte, the extremely dangerous ... female Apprentice of the Emperor Exal Kressh. Well, there is a lot of dense content and quite interesting concepts and ideas within that masterpiece, however I want to stress something that seems relevant to the content of Legacy of the Sith. After their first confrontation where Exal Kressh (a blood of the Sith by all means obviously) spares -for some important reasons- her defeated would-be executioner, a failed and bleeding but brave and determined Teneb Kel has a quasi-delusional vision as he approaches death. Within this vision there are two constant figments of his imagination, Exal herself and ... Darth Thanaton. There are other presences too that are even more important imho as the knowledge of their existence will ... give birth to Darth Thanaton himself ... and death to Teneb Kel. During this extremely interesting (story-wise and artistically) vision, Exal Kressh reveals that She adds soon that [at this moment Teneb's part of his vision asks Exal's part of the vision a fundamentally important question: "Why do you care?" and Exal gives an all-important answer, an answer that hides a very humane issue and it will give Teneb a decisively important lead: "Your delusion doesn't cover that. Maybe I'm after redemption? Maybe not."] Later, during another confrontation between them, Exal repeats: Well, compare Exal Kressh's (her true self of her vision) declarations with the information, revealed at 7.1, regarding (the also female) Darth Nul! Was Exal the first child of The Emperor or the second?
  9. Gotcha!! If you hadn't noticed yet, there is a whole Eclipsed Sun around Elom!! According to Copernicus (and Galileo Galilei and Sir Isaac Newton) Elom is around the Eclipsed Sun that is ... ... but according to Albert Einstein the two points of view are equivalent! Is this the work of a certain Darth ... Nul!?! No way Jose!! This style of work and vision is obviously a Valcorion's doing and favorite, it's clearly goes with His/Her Taste and Aesthetics...
  10. A lightsaber's teleportation (Rey had already two, me thinks ... but Kylo had gotten rid of his) within the final confrontation at "The rise of Skywalker", fire (fire-beams) teleportation (it even destroyed part of a wall...) during the interaction between Kylo and the Jedi gal at "The Return of Jedi", even sand/dust teleportation in that very movie!! The scientists of the bad guys were even able to analyze the origin of the teleported dust/sand and the whereabouts of Rey... [someone could accuse me of sexism: Rey is a ... Jedi gal?!? How so?!? Nope, they introduced a girl in order to establish a love-story within a rare connection through the Force. That's ... unorthodox; why to introduce a heterosexual Force-Couple and not a special connection (through the Force...) between two Force Users which aren't heterosexual!?! Am I a sexist or are they ... Stereotypically Unorthodox?!? And they have delivered this stereotypical theme to the children of the audience! Leading them to embrace -and internalize!- concepts of the oppressive, miserable Pre-history of the ... mankind!!... Preposterous... Why not to introduce two Jedi girls, I have no objection at all about this ... or about two Jedi dudes... By the way the connection (through the Force of course) between Obi Wan and Qui Gon is -way!!- less stereotypical...] Well, it could be explained through their special Force-connection, however these teleportation effects belong much more to the X-Men Legacy, they hardly belong to any Star Wars legacy... Imho the important thing here is the absorption of X-Men archetypical concepts -which are essentially strange to Star Wars whole concept- by Star Wars movies: this is the result of an attempted opening, an attempted contact between audiences but eventually it leads to confusion, indifference, lack of identification and self-cancelling... On the contrary BioWare was able to achieve such a bridging in a magnificent, exemplary way. PS: I strongly suspect that Darth Nul of Elom is
  11. I can't even pinpoint the short story with Master Orr's diaries/report regarding his mission and his crew... Jedi and Sith are able to pinpoint like X-Men ; myself I ain't able to pinpoint a small story within SW:TOR... Damn these damn Force Users!! However I have to express my envy and point out that many Jedi Masters tend to become -in a violent way- one with the Force while they apologize and attempt to repent for their crimes... Down with Malgus or ... Viva Malgus?!? Well, I guess that ... Darth Malgus could become a valuable asset of the Alliance!! And a heroic ally to our Alliance Commander!! Unless he is about to meet -by ... accident- The Immortal Emperor, like, say, Revan....
  12. That's great news assuming that the new version will remain 100% faithful to the letter and spirit of KotOR and KotOR2;TSL!!
  13. You just made a few (rather a lot of) fine points! It occurred to me that , however I convinced myself that this has to do with a reminiscent of X-Men's CEREBRO pinpointing machine, which is not a baseless hypothesis; BioWare etc. etc. have to make a move (the first or one more?) towards these audiences... As you have noticed, this is much more obvious regarding to the Padawan! I admit that the collaboration of my way of thinking with my senses is ... limited, however now I, too, have noticed something! It seems (...) that the interesting party for the pinpointing machine was/is The Immortal Emperor, however you are right that ; you have a very strong point about this! Nevertheless that pinpoints the rejected (due to weaker connection to the Force) Force Users: It's also pretty clear that Master Orr knew one thing or two regarding the purpose etc. of that machine though it's not clear what the Sith Lord knew about this! My point: that Sith was fully dedicated to the Empire, however there is something odd about him: we have never seen any Sith Lord like ... this in SW:TOR, until now at least... Therefore you really made a few strong points! One last remark; Disney made an attempt to address the X-Men audiences via the depiction of "bizarre" (SW-wise) Force Powers in "The Force Awakens", TLJ and the unfortunate last movie too, I have in mind the teleportation powers there. However that was a weak, almost a silly attempt 'cause it alienated etc. many Star Wars fans... After all contact is one thing, confusion-and-absorption is completely another thing... This BioWare's move is not an absurd one, it's not artificial but quite natural, thoughtful and pretty convincing!! PS: Well, it now occurred to me that I even like the quality of lightsabers swordsmanship in SW:TOR cinematics, it's way above the corresponding quality in the last (and lowest)Trilogy!!
  14. I really have doubts regarding BioWare's decision -or interest- to create another SW:TOR;KotFE or KotET. I guess they will consider the production of a much shorter expansion, we'll see anyways. Why bother then? Well, I really know nothing about BioWare's plans but I do know this; BioWare has proven that it's capable enough to pave the way of the creation of worthy Star Wars Sagas!!
  15. I didn't run the new expansion yet, I have to make arrangements about the ... disordered inventory and another arrangement regarding the available abilities at level 75; I must confess that sometimes I do hate evolution... However I have watched carefully the "Disorder" cinematic ... and after doing that (a few times) I came to some conclusions and a story-wise conjecture did occur to me. Well, "Legacy of the Sith" seems to introduce the Twilek Jedi Padawan (Sa'har) to us and to the Alliance;Sa'har will cease to be a member of the Jedi Order, she will not become a Sith either, therefore we'll follow -in this or a future expansion- her introduction to the Alliance, headed by our characters. In other words we'll follow the adventure of her personal quest and the way that her quest will bring the independent, brave and skillful, trained in the ways of the Jedi Sa'har in contact with our high and mighty character, the Alliance Commander. I just hope that this will be an interesting story-line.... However this story-line (short or extended, poor or rich, spectacular or indifferent) must be, speaking story-wise, just a detail of the SW:TOR saga!! I guess that the part of the new expansion that is connected to the big picture here is the reservoir of the Force Users that have been deemed unworthy from the Jedi and became a prey for the Sith Empire, the reservoir that Sa'har has to pinpoint in order to find her brother! The Alliance will seek this reservoir also and not just because they want to do the right thing and help Sa'har, the Alliance has to discover the plan behind the creation of this reservoir, the function that this reservoir serves. Malgus will follow the same quest also for his own reasons... and the Empire too, not to mention the combined quest of the Alliance with the Jedi Order ... or the combined quest of the Alliance with the Sith Empire. An obvious question; why the Sith Empire had created that machine in order to pinpoint the Force Users who have a weak connection to the Force? Why to capture these Force Users and create such a reservoir? Another obvious question; why I do consider the creation of a reservoir of Force Users? They are Force Users, the Sith Empire had pinpointed them, therefore they had to join the Empire and become Sith or else... I don't believe that this is the case; those weak Force Users had not a chance to become Sith, they had no chance to become Jedi either. However the Sith Empire had built that machine meaning that The Immortal Emperor wanted to find them. Why bother?!? My conjecture is that He had decided to create a hidden reservoir of Force Users, not strongly connected to the Force in order to become Sith but, nevertheless connected to the Force. If my conjecture is not baseless, the Alliance Commander together with the Jedi Order and the Sith Empire are on their way to cross roads again with Valcorion.
  16. Got it, almost got it! I hadn't paid enough attention to this clear and lucid sentence of yours... Therefore any numbered Outfit Designer slots is a potentially visible one, the (unique) "unnumbered" slot (at the left end) is the invisible but effective one, the active one by means of the game mechanics! Two last questions: i) how can I make use of the numbers for the activation of the visible set? ii) is it an option to make use of a numbered (just visible) Outfit Designer Set without any modifications but dyes? I am pretty sure that dyes are necessary "there"... P.S.: I guess that the armor gear set with the desired stats and bonuses (and the "unwanted look", the "hidden-to-be"!...) has to be installed in the standard armor gear slots of the Character Sheet, the standard slots of the "wearable" armor gear that is. I also guess that the (perhaps "empty"?) armor gear set -of which I like the look- has to be placed at the Characters' inventory too. Am I right?
  17. It is truly a question of "aesthetics" and best in-game experience. This and I thank you for the kind answer! I guess many of us are pretty satisfied with the eventual choice of a ("custom" - by means of the old terminology) set of armor gear. For how long? That's another question, a legitimate one of course ... but another question. I guess it's quite obvious that a certain combination of certain pieces of gear (combined with the "proper" dyes!...) has a lot to do with the quality of in-game experience! Take also under consideration the fact that the eventual choice has been a long and ... fortunate process, a matter of random -and discontinuous- optimization, so to speak. Of course it's absolutely clear that i) the gear I do like has to do with my own taste essentially, someone else may like it but another hates it or doesn't care, ii) not everybody is really into "issues of aesthetics". Anyways there is (I guess) a considerable percentage of such players, mostly subscribers... However nowadays there is a big change, namely the various amplifiers and, particularly, the "set bonuses"; either the simply amplifiable pieces of gear or the (superb!) full sets of gear, the so-called "set bonuses". I have to add that this essential boost has to do only with pieces of armor gear, particularly armor set and (armor) set bonuses. There are amplifiers for components of weapons, off-hand gear and more but -to my best knowledge- there aren't "set bonuses" with respect to the "auxiliary" (not-visible) equipment and the (visible!) weapons. Modification amplifiers are just a matter of research, spending and adequate judgment, their creation and selection has nothing to do with the appearance of the set of armor gear of my liking. Gear amplifiers though and, particularly, prescribed "Set bonuses" (prescribed combined sets of four or six armor gear with inherent game-dynamics) has a lot to do with the appearance of my liking or not... The first remark is an issue of the all-important (for many gamers who are after relaxation and amusement) "aesthetics", the second remark is an all-important issue of game mechanics and effectiveness... The two remarks lead us to the question of the combination of the set of armor gear of preferred aesthetics with the (prescribed) set of armor gear with the preferred bonuses and game dynamics/effectiveness, the so called "set bonus". Thank you again for your kind answer but the truth is that I have never made use of the "Outfit Designer". There are two reasons for that, I only used two armor gear sets (maximum!) for every character and it wasn't clear to me how to make use of the "numbered" Outfits... Laziness perhaps, perhaps not enough energy to explore their activation... The bottom line is that I desire to combine the appearance of my liking with the effectiveness of the "set bonus" of my choice. This is obvious but how can I achieve this goal? Conjecture: a) I can (that's only an option I guess) get rid of any modification with respect to any armor gear of chosen aesthetics with just one important exception, the dyes!!; ii) I must pick up a prescribed "Set bonus" (set of armor gear) with the bonuses of my choice. However I have to equip every piece of gear of the "Set bonus" with the proper modifications, to unlock ("reach") also all the amplifiers of my choice. I realize that I must equip all the components of the one set to the character slots and keep the other set of gear to my Inventory. So far, so good! First question: which set of gear will be visible? Second question: which set of gear will be the "effective" one, not the visible but the useful regarding the game mechanics? The one within the slots of my characters or the one within my inventory? How exactly can I manage these "allocations"?!? By means of the numbers of the "Outfit Designer" of course but ... how exactly?!? I want to add that I intend to make use of only two sets of armor gear for every character of mine, one visible (just for aesthetic purposes) and one invisible (of course) for the sake of its various, all-important bonuses. Thank you in advance for your kind answer, I'll pay a visit also to the suggested site!
  18. I wonder if it is feasible to introduce a new function/functionality regarding the set bonuses; namely to deliver the functionality for a player to be able to somehow purchase the properties (aka bonuses) of some given "Set Bonus" gear (already in his possession!) and to transfer these bonuses to another given gear set, one of his/her liking! It's just a matter of, say ..., aesthetics and all that; however it might be quite complicated and thus, not feasible...
  19. Bahhhh... Well, I did write (at the very beginning of the post of mine you do quote!) about the existence of the 1998 Disney animated film regarding that Chinese heroine. Back then Disney had nothing to do with Star Wars, I wasn't (I repeat) anymore into animated films and I wasn't interested either to watch a certain Chinese legendary heroine ... Mulan or to watch a certain legendary Indian girl ... Pokahontas, another Disney's project too, me thinks. "Unfortunately", I watched a few years later the Zhang Yimou's Chinese movie "Hero" and I had been very pissed off: everything else was fine but its main idea/philosophy of the screenplay and such ... abhorrent to say the least. Anyways, that movie has been extremely honest... That said, I had watched (with a lot of excitement!!) the legendary "Kung-Fu" tv-series from the early 70s -back then (1973-76 in Greece) I was very young but I had enjoyed it quite a lot! Being so young back then, I had no idea that this tv-series had been a byproduct of the legendary "ping-pong diplomacy" and all that; no harm done! To say the truth, who is that Japanese dude ... Akira Kurosawa?!? Where is "The Hidden Fortress" of his?!? Jokes aside, I doubt your judgment; firstly George Lucas' scope was way more advanced and ambitious than Akira Kurosawa's one when the greatest director had planned about "The Hidden Fortress", that magnificent film of his. And secondly, I guess that the 1998 animated Disney's movie "Mulan" had been a huge (or remarkable) success whereas the 2020 Disney's masterpiece MU LAN is -for too many and serious reasons- a huge failure, almost a sacrifice of 200 million dollars and more that that. How is it then correct that there is a strongest connection between the two movies? That seems to be quite a challenge, not to say a ... provocation! My answer is: no way Jose!! Not tomorrow that is! The truth is that I have already more than enough to write down about the 2020 Disney's movie MU LAN. However there is a two-folded issue... , not to say a manifold's issue. Both issues (that I am concerned about) are extremely critical, sharp and sensitive, they require a lot of responsibility and much more. Therefore the (way) "easier" one, the movie's profound review and such, demands a delicate, accurate and profound work; I already got "all" the needed ideas but I intend to write it down at a Microsoft Word document for starters; it's not about a walk in the countryside... It is also true that I don't take very well the "Do as suggested" command/provocation, it's a permanent feature of mine not to take some orders well. Since the movie and the issues are very important to me, I'll pass but you will have to wait; I'll take my time and with two "good reasons"... The harder issue is the function of the Art -and particularly the Star Wars cinematography- within the humanity, its interaction with the human situation during these very hard -and similarly mad- times. If it wasn't for that, I'd approach the situation the same way I did with, say, the two "Godfather" masterpieces, "The silence of the lambs" (or "Hannibal") and Shakespeare or Dostoevsky or Beethoven or ... Bob Dylan's "One more cup of coffee" or Jacques Brel: I don't give a .... if people (and how many) are interested about and why, I only care to watch for myself, to be touched and to understand. As far as easy access to these masterpieces is guaranteed, everything else is of secondary importance to me. Obviously, this isn't the case of the Star Wars from my point of view: here something extremely more important is at stake, that is my personal approach at least. However I can do -and not just me- only too little, practically nothing... Meanwhile the circumstances are dire and utterly demanding, the opportunities and responsibilities beyond imagination, my time and energy limited, the madness of our times -and these days- vast and critical, the whole situation extremely complicated ... or worst. Therefore I ought to be cautious and accurate; thus I'll take my time in order to play well my cards and all.
  20. (i) You answered my last question neither here nor there! I can fully understand the "not here" choice of yours but you could write something at the "Off topic" section of course... Like yes or nope. However you did choose not to answer, you did choose the silence. For whatever reason. (ii) So, you did come to this Thread regarding "The Rise of Skywalker" at the end of September 2020, hoping to find content about the topic of the title. Frankly I can buy it, it's a completely legitimate (and plausible) request. You have every right of course. However that very Thread started at 12/19/2020 and it practically came to some conclusion after ... no less than 3 (three) months!! There was the Spoilers' issue, so I wrote down my first post here only back at ...12/25/2020 and the last post of mine at April 2020! Until then there were 47 posts and I had written almost (10) ten of them, no complaints at all. On the contrary an extensive conversation which had been followed by a remarkable number of Forum members. And an abundance of negative criticism (that was fair enough imho) towards Disney's SW Trilogy. No issues at all though, neither complaints nor suspicions or restrictions. Or trolling... You came here in order to read about "The Rise of Skywalker"; you found just one off/topic post and forty seven (old) posts about that movie, however you decided to focus on the very last, unique off topic post. After all I wrote down just one Off-Topic post here and one Off Topic post "there" at 9/26/2020. I also started another Thread by the title "Mulan is not just a great Star Wars movie' writing down only one-two posts, nothing more. By the way, nowadays I'd give the title "MU LAN was/is NOT JUST a great STAR WARS movie" which certainly is quite similar and seems to be more descriptive! I myself too guess that "an off topic post/thread here and there isn't a big deal", that is your own, explicitly expressed, opinion also. However this is sincere only with respect to me; you do obviously consider that "an off topic post/thread here and there" is a biggest deal, contradicting your own statement... You keep going of course: "... but you seem determined to keep polluting other threads, for whatever reason." Well, I have written here just one post at 9/26, nothing more! You came just yesterday, 9/30, and you wrote a quoted post, very ... talkative and with a lot of irritation. In fact an unfair, offensive and toxic charge/provocation... I decided to reply and now you are coming back and you complain about my reply to your own post!! I guess that my reply to your own comment/post is the evidence that I seem keep determined to ... pollute (sic) other threads, ... for whatever reason. Well, I had to make a choice between silence and speech! I do not apologize of course, however I do write a reply. No MU LAN references, no MU LAN/off topic "pollution", just a reply to your comment. The essence of my reply is that: a) attempts of pollution, bizarre motives and shady reasons have only to do with your baseless, self-contradictory and bizarre concerns. b) I am pretty convinced that I have every right to inform the Forum members about something quite important and interesting, imho of course. By means of a unique post of course, nothing more! One unique post -and nothing more- out of respect to the Forum's members of course and the Forum itself. c) the issue of the essential connection of a non-Star Wars movie with the Star Wars tradition is not an off topic issue. And it's well worth one unique post at least! So much that "The Rise of Skywalker" (not to mention "The ... Force ... Awakens" and ... "The last (almost literally!) Jedi") had too little to do with Star Wars!! d) almost last but not least; dogmatic, hypocritic, obsessive, self-contradictory and nihilistic adherence and fixation to Rules of Organization of Speech, relevant Courtesies leading to essential restriction of speech and exchange of opinions (and all that ... "Orthodoxy") is way out of my tolerance!! To put it quite diplomatically... Why so?!? Because I am convinced that all that is a fine self-destructive way of thinking. One critically pathological pathway indeed. And last but not least; I got (as we all did) the (implicit) permission to criticize Disney's awful SW movies (that took a gross-path from almost 2 billions to almost 1 billion dolllars...; the Force was with Star Wars!) and it's not only honest but also -and above all!!- creative to praise a Disney's awesome movie. Hopefully I'm doing it pretty well... I'm doing my best anyways.
  21. I haven't seen the 1998 (I guess) Disney's animated MU LAN, I was interested neither about a certain ... MU LAN and I ain't into animated movies. I criticized quite a lot Disney's Star Wars Trilogy, therefore it's a ... naïve thought (to put it diplomatically) the idea that I am a Disney's paid troll or whatever. I watched that very MU LAN in a Greek theater last month due to simple curiosity; I wanted to compare that movie with the ... errrh..., movies of the Disney's SW Trilogy and I was interested to find out how a US Corporation that had delivered such a SW ... catastrophe, would deal with an epic movie about Imperial China; I went to watch a childish and naïve movie, another awful movie and I surprisingly watched an awesome one!! I realized that MU LAN is a great movie from every aspect and I decided to write about all that; that's all. I insist too about the -quite obvious- fact that the 2020 MU LAN film is -essentially- a Star Wars movie, in fact a greatest one; no lightsabers of course, however there is something quite similar to the essence etc. of the SW Force concept and ... much more! Since you are so ... talkative, opinionated and inexplicably irritated, could you please inform us (e.g. at the "Off Topic" sub-section of the "General Discussion" Section or wherever you like) what irritates you so much about that very film?!? Have you watched it or not after all?
  22. I guess there is true wisdom in your opinion regarding your corresponding thoughts. By the way what are the purple giraffes?!?
  23. As I said, I just bought the excellent Gigabyte Aorus Pro motherboard (socket AM4, chipset B550, DDR4 of course) for (less than) 210 €. The purchase took place at 9/12/2020. Yesterday, 9/26/2020 the same awesome (and/or awful) Greek retailer started to sell also the magnificent Gigabyte Aorus Ultra X570 motherboard (socket AM4, chipset X570, DDR4) at the price of 399 €. Well, I don't feel unhappy about that purchase, quite the contrary: I wouldn't like to spend these extra 200 €. What for? Nevertheless, we'll see about that! That is, hopefully (...) we'll see about this! Under the permission of course of Covid-19 and all! Without their permission there will be (just a wish of mine!) no problem at all of course!!
  24. Very kind -and extremely helpful!!- JediQuaker. i) Edit -if you like- the first quote ([Color/Wheat)] at the previous reply of yours; I tend to be ... kinda perfectionist! ii) Hopefully I'll write down an extensive "reply" (and all) at the "Off Topic" Section of the "General Discussion" Area/Sector of the Forum; not soon but only after, say, ten weeks. If feasible, during 2020 certainly! I had realized of course (and now I am even more convinced) that the movie MU LAN is a hot topic, a "hot potato" indeed, that "almost nobody and ... nowhere" wishes now to watch and almost nobody -and nowhere!!...- wishes (for his/her own reasons, it is his/her own right of course) to discuss nowadays. That's quite understandable ... though not fair enough; if it was so, it certainly wouldn't be a glorious day for freedom of speech, freedom of choice, above all free thinking and all that. Regarding the criteria of the financial success or failure (in the given circumstances, dictated by the need to face Covid-19 and ... much more) I only desire to make the following point, one by comparison: "The Night of the Hunter" is a 1955 American "thriller" film, directed by the great actor Charles Laughton and starring Shelley Winters, Lilian Gish and ... (no more no less - please excuse again my poor English) Robert Mitchum himself!! I must add that the direction (from the part of Charles Laughton) was not ... stable enough, it isn't fully convincing: some scenes are really great and greatest, other scenes are not. The director didn't fully succeed to create a functional bridge between the 1953 David Grubb's greatest novel and the audiences - and this wasn't at all a fault of the screen writer James Agee. The nearly-bottom line is that, back at 1955, that very film was a gross financial failure. However that very film ... has been selected -at 1992- for preservation in the USA "National Film Registry", considered by many one of the greatest films of all time. That seems to be the opinion of the vast majority of the contemporary critics that is ... though I doubt it was "their" opinion back then! (accidentally the vast majority of contemporary critics seem to be laughing at MU LAN...) I really doubt also about how many people ever watched that film, despite the aforementioned act of selection for preservation. Never mind... The bottom line is that I am pretty sure that -in due time...- the film MU LAN will have exactly the very same fate!! Selection for preservation in the USA National Film Registry that is; on the contrary I am convinced that the film's contact with the audiences will be way better than that of "The Night of the Hunter"!! The screenplay is not only based on a classic Chinese "ballad", an epic poem that is; it is going (way?) beyond that and it's really extremely balanced, important, penetrative and profound, in fact great and greatest!! However, back at ... 2020, that came to be a huge -"worldwide" disadvantage of that film... Aside that, the direction of that film is extremely stable and pretty convincing and the performances of the actresses and actors -along that of the photographers and all- are powerful!! However the real power of that film stems from its very screenplay!! The director's essential achievement was her success to create an effective and functional bridge between that screenplay and the audiences! P.S: it is not accidental that the core of the true power of both aforementioned masterpieces is their superb screenplay, their "stories" so to speak!
  25. I'll follow your piece of advice in due time; however MU LAN has essentially to do quite a lot (much more than you could ever imagine!!) with almost every aspect of the essence of Star Wars and its best tradition, namely the very best Lucasian tradition!! I wonder if you have watched that masterpiece and been able to make just some pattern recognition!
