  1. I'll just leave : this (from user tiana_arylle) and this (from some star wars wiki) here... And you guys sort it out...
  2. You got me wrong ! I was just pointing out the important fact it's on the known issue list now. So we have our answer for now, that's all !
  3. There is a thread already with a yellow answer, would be better to go on talking about it there no ? Also it's been aknowledged : it's now in the known issues list :
  4. It's been added to the known issue list under the section "item & economy" : So thanks a ton !
  5. *The* /ignore list... Omagad... Won't be able to sleep tonight !
  6. Same : get used to it too... Pot meet Kettle :
  7. Andryah, your broad generalization are broad, and in regard to that art style topic, your generalizations are light years from the reality. Your dreams and conspiracy theories over NCSoft deciding the art direction over Carbine artists are dreams and conspiracy theories. I don't need to be defensive : you're just inventing things as you write them...
  8. About W*, They're still cryptic about it and saying they don't want to announce it yet, but at the same time during a recent interview, the game director, or it was the producer, don't remember his exact title, said it would probably launch with a hybrid model. He was quoted once too as saying, and laughing as he did, that no matter what payment model there would be there would always be a large chunk of the population that wouldn't like it.
  9. You need to be lvl 52 to start the quest chain, and some of the macro-binoculars and digging happens on Makeb.
  10. You still haven't told us what you think about the PVP dummies have you ?
  11. Oh : fact ! The magic word... I'll tell you a fact : north american cartoon art mastery is light years ahead compared to the rest of the world, and this has been the case ever since Disney in the 30s... And yes it's a stretch to try to find any Asian style influence in W* art direction just because NCSoft is an Asian publisher, one just have to look at the art style AND animation to see for himself, but one has to have a bit of knowledge in art AND animation before making totally uneducated blanket statement. Oh and now we have "childish" thrown in the middle... As well as cutsie cutsie... And no I have never made a premise saying childish cartoony was a western art style, since nowhere have I said "childish" : only you have... But see your contradiction and the way you try to deflect it ? On the quote above you *are* talking about Asian Art Style, and you were too in the earlier posts, and then on the quote below this is shifting somehow to not be totally about art style anymore but more like some sort of marketing study about childish style and Asian Adults... Nice pirouette ! Well : nice spin... As usual... And you know it !
  12. One of the solution, but it's a really hard one, is to have the content actually *train* the player to be better and get more skilled over time. It is extremely difficult to design that way in MMOs, and not only in MMOs, in solo RPGs as well... Especially since more and more people are getting lazy and fight against that and refrain to be trained and want to still be uber-powerful against mobs even when they clearly need to L2P. It sure is fun when you learn the game and for the first 10 lvls, but after that it is a nightmare to design and tweak.
  13. It's a matter of taste for sure. Let's just say that, in the MMO space, the games that have a real nice and/or strong art direction are very rare and for those that have at least a few thousands subbers it's like less than 5, in the past 10 years. What I was saying earlier was just about the comment made by Andryah that W* art direction is to cater to the Asian market... For anyone who knows just a little about graphics AND animations it's very apparent that the roots are extremely, firmly and strongly set in north american historical cartoony style. It's nowhere near the way graphics are produced, AND animation is made in Asia. It just is Andryah trying to subtly denigrate W* art in a "sort" of subtle way... We both know *exactly* what I meant don't we ?
  14. You have just no clue about art style and art direction Andryah. But anyway, the efforts you deploy for this negative propaganda just show who is trying too hard... But hey let's be happy for SWTOR when W* launches : it will mean BW will have to release stuff they been holding onto in order to retain customers when the time is appropriate... And you know it ! Cool story... I'll shed a tear... One day...
  15. Am pretty certain someone could quote you and replace NCsoft with EA and Carbine with BW and the result would be much closer to the reality isn't it ? Armchair analyst is analysing from her armchair... "Team composition means nothing" : LOL, by looking at what SWTOR was 1-50 and what it is now I frankly think you're badly mistaken... It's the same art-style as WoW... Oh but you're right WoW clearly failed in the west and only performed well in Asia... Oh wait... Were you the one back in the days in the EQ forums saying that you couldn't imagine any fantasy fan abandonning EQ for WoW ?
  16. Sigh... "Technically"... So you go lesson the poster and state a grandiloquent "Incorrect" and then give an argument that holds NO ground... And is in fact the continuation of all the haze and fog thrown around... Sigh...
  17. Oh make no mistakes, Andryah has taken a look at Carbine for sure and the fact the only angle of attack, the only negative thing, she came up with to carry on her negative propaganda being that it's published by NCSoft is a testimony to all what seems to be good in the game they'll release and the way it's managed and handled. Am pretty certain a good chunk of the management and marketing at BWEA is getting a bit spooked at some of those new games that are resonating with a positive vibe these days, especially W* that seem to cater to all that has been asked these past 2 years by MMOers, at least those fed up by the post WoW era : housing, sandboxy elements, real hard core difficulty not only in raids but also in dungeons, etc... Yeah I can understand that : matter of taste. Me I like a strong art direction, so I enjoyed WoW a lot for example, and thus of course am really excited for W*. Then again it's also why I like the art diretion of SWTOR as well : because of the stylised realism. I think GW2 is limit too much realistic but nevertheless I like it a lot as well because their engine and the way they have worked on their asset really makes it beautiful. I liked Lotro for the same reason too, even if it was a bit too realistic for my taste.
  18. You can, it's just the set pieces that won't drop if you haven't chosen either the LS or DS chestpiece, which of course requires you to complete the deadseed quest line.
  19. Lol, just lol : someone didn't do her homework it seems... Don't you know who is composing the Carbine team ? Or maybe this one is the most serious contender so it deserves early proper negative propaganda from you heh ?
  20. Oh indeed there are raiders, and maybe in a slightly larger % than in some other MMOs where raids are much harder. And of course my meaning about that is it's because raiding is easier "on average" in SWTOR than in some other MMOs. Raiding is more accessible in SWTOR. For some it's a good thing while for others it's not, then again they will have NiM soon, so... There are more PUGs forming for normal mode than in other games I have played and also raid guilds will allow strangers more easily to fill a spot or 2 even for hard mode. And the trend is even more like this since RotHC, and a friend of mine who is still raiding (I stopped) told me it was much too easy and they completed it all just being in 61-63 gear... (90% of them PVP as well, and they also have one RWZ evening per week even though their prime focus, even on this PVP server, is raiding) Now my experience, on a PvP server in SWTOR, about the general channel shouts is that it also has a lot for raiding but it's more half normal/half hard than for a PVE server (I guess) about the difficulty : here a lot of people will shout for normal just to complete this or that weekly and there are many PUGs forming for it. And also, of course on that same PVP server, there are many shouts to form PUG "ranked" teams for RWZ. Not during the whole day though, it happens more in the evening or the weekend, then again for raids as well. In fact most of the players (at cap lvl) on my server do dailies/warzones/flashpoints during the day and then some more on the evening but then the evening becomes the "shout-party" for normal and hard raids and for RWZ. Also I've not paid attention if it's still the case, but there was a period on my server where hardcore RWZ guilds would choose a day NOT to queue as well as a day where they'd all Queue at the same hour, but with RotHC I don't know if they went on with that organization. There is also the side effect of the bolster and the PVP gear only available at 55 : it's the fact that for people who normally only lvl through PVP (50 to 54), some have started doing more flashpoints/PVE weeklies than usual because it was the only way to get better gear FOR warzones and PVP in general.
  21. You know, am willing to discuss numbers here and there but if you're trying to be mean and bait me to be mean as well, let me just say : Nice try...
  22. Well just *really* unthink about it and next time you turn up with numbers : try reading them better instead of saying false things about what you perceive is a certain % of the MMO population in this or that. And that goes for the "solo>group" thing as well (hint : read the RJmetrics quote I placed earlier...). You perceive things, you make mistake, it happens to everyone...
