  5. I'll give you props for the Huttball win, it was a great match however saying it was due to Unicorn Stampede is a little misleading considering US didn't comprise even half the team.   8. Let me know dates and times and I'll make sure it happens. We had a great series of games the other night with a group from Oblivion, and some pug PT named Donut. Over the course of the night they improved tremendously and did not make anything easy. Would be great to see them in queue again as well.
  9. Alot of LD50 have the same response to Solo queues in that its cancerous and bad for your health. I've queued for solo across multiple toons and if it isn't the level 60 Inquisitor on your team that gets globaled, then its the premade opposite faction other team. I don't like a system where luck determines whether or not you win or lose. I like to play with my friends which is why I group queue %98 of the time, I still prefer objective based play over arenas, but if I'm going to do them, I like to know I'm going to be playing with somebody who has my back, not a mouth-breather who still needs to pick an advanced class. Least that is my perspective.

Bearing in mind the vast majority of my tanking is in 8v8 scenarios whether ranked or just regs, and my arena experience is limited to about 3/4's of season two, and I'm talking about Jugg/Guard tanking, I look at it like this: I found that as I got better using area denial techniques (roots, snares, even using myself as a distraction) that you can effectively break up dps to the point that its only one or two people who are dropping. Naturally you guard people who you know, however if we're assuming a totally theoretical situation, two people dropping and I don't know either it would go something like...heals over dps, dps over tank, assuming that we're looking at duplicate roles (i.e. dps, dps) then guard whoever is getting hit the hardest who can be saved, then throw as much CC as you can for the other guy.
  22. I've been tanking long enough across several different metas of this game it could have changed. I would still argue that it isn't beneficial because the DR curve for Defense got crippled when 2.0 hit, and shield/absorb get maximized pretty high on the DR curve anyway when just normal gearing. I would argue that a Jugg tanks strength comes from their significantly more utility than Sins or PTs.
  23. That was the original point of this thread, don't feel bad about using it for what it was intended for. Regarding tanking in PvP the short answer is no, you don't want to maximize your mitigation stats. Defense has a pretty harsh DR curve, especially for Jugg tanks thanks to 2.0. In addition since you can't shield against critical hits it makes little sense to rely on Shield/Absorb. A tanks priorities are guarding players and area denial. Since guard damage can't be mitigated by defense stats it makes even less sense to prioritize them in any real fashion. Endurance has no diminishing returns and helps with healing with Endure Pain/Medpac. The main disconnect people have is the concept of tanking. In PvE you stand in front of the raid boss. In PvP you increase somebody's capacity to live. They require different focuses. TL: DR - Endurance is a PvP tank's best friend.
