  1. Can we please get spec changing back to roles your class can do in Flash points. I've had something like 3-4 MM FP's a week pop then fail because someone didn't realize they were dps specc'd when they queued as heals or tank. They have the gear for the other specs and are happy to swap but the system locks them from doing it creating an even worse situation and much more common than when people tried to hold a group hostage by queuing for a spec they weren't. This 100x worse and makes people just hate playing FP's.
  2. I mean overall the state of balance is horrible. Some of the worst it has ever been. So Lets look at actual bosses on Live. NiM Nefra - Basically a parse dummy https://parsely.io/parser/operation-stats/nefra/8/MM/dps/live/ NiM Bestia - Aoe Heavy Fight https://parsely.io/parser/operation-stats/dread-master-bestia/8/MM/dps/live/ NiM Dash - Arguably another parse dummy with how often pugs exploit it. However it has good spec diversity. https://parsely.io/parser/operation-stats/dashroode/8/MM/dps/live/ Too many specs 99th precentile parses are mid range parses of other specs. The fact the dev's have said nothing of balance so far worries me greatly. 7.1 will need major balance changes or too many spec's simply won't be taken to the new raid in either HM or NiM. Remember also most of these boss parses are going to include the absolute best players at the respective classes.
  3. This is the real problem with scaled down ops with hard caps. As you get better gear it won't matter for 95% of the raid content in the game. So that means if you get the best nim gear the only raid you'll feel any difference in is Dxun. So it literally means you either gear for a single raid, or don't bother trying to improve gear at all really. And if gear will only matter for a single raid why even make gear and not just hard cap stats by level and class so everything is "tuned perfectly"
  4. A group last night killed nefra with 6 people and 1 healer. In 1 minute 43 seconds in NiM. Scaling is not the way to go because balancing it will be extremely difficult and it will get people to build alternate sets for things like sales runs cause defense mods will be BiS for any scaled raid while HP mods will likely be used for Dxun. Relics stims and adrenals won't even work either. A lot of the current nim raiders only do old content now because they can parse run. Take that away and you'll see a lot of experienced raiders stop doing content and likely leave the game after Dxun is cleared.
  5. My other concern is also classes balances will be super out of wack depending on which ones scale crit better if they sink down.
  6. This I am actually concerned about because I don't think it will go well for a whole host of reason not to mention a bunch of sets and things like relic procs become useless. The other part of that will be either they make the old ops way easier then they are or if we go back to 4.0 style and they become really hard except for the very top tier your going to see a lot of problems with things like DPS balance. Sorta what you see in Gods right now where PT/mara stacking makes everything easier and there are some classes just not really worth taking to fights because of the massive dps differences between specs on live right now.
  7. This right here is an issue in my opinion. If you scale only mastery and power down then you would want to optimize gear down for any op that isn't dxun. If you want to say get masks from hateful to make it easier you would make sure that instead of using power augments if that is what would give you better returnees in non sync'd ops; since they'll be hard capped anyway you grab a set of gear and stack either alacrity or crit because it will give you better gains in the old ops which will be 90% of them with the level cap. While I don't think a static difficulty cap on the older NiM's is necessarily bad you also wont get any kind of scaling like you do now where the 258 gear makes people that would have struggled harder in NiM get to actually progress and clear ops in it. The likely outcome of level syncing the ops you will get what you have now where NiM gods is so so much harder than any of the other ops because it will have to be scaled against the best gear and all the old ops will have to be easier because the scaling is asymmetric. The other part is it will likely push for any op that is not Dxun to be preferable to crit heavy builds to push damage numbers up since it is the stat that will most have an effect if power and mastery can't get higher especially for fights with burst windows. The other downside is trying to get people to learn what is good enough DPS will be extremely hard. Like if your doing 20k on live at 75 is that going to be good enough scaled to 50 or how about lvl 55 or 60 or 70. And what will those values need to be around for each tier of raid. I think that will make it harder for people that are new to raiding or inexperienced to get into and progress through the easier HM's and NiM's. While its probably easier to scale down the raids for the dev teams I don't think it would be particularly better for the game over all.
  8. No, of your struggling its probably because your dps in your group is bad. Bad dps makes that fight terribly hard. It's super easy always been super easy if your dps is competant.
  9. Link to your math please because the math my guildy did shows it as a buff overall, and he says after testing it is working correctly now. Or did you just do like 10 hits of the 1 ability and expect to see the difference?
  10. They shouldn't have opened the forums to people that hadn't been invited to EGA is more like it. Honestly they needed the forums up for EGA people to give feedback on issues and things, with accounts and the game.
  11. I agree, and I was one of the people that was very angry when the grace periods dissolved. It wasn't the SR's fault, and a question spammed to his twitter about when you'll get access when he told you he won't answer those questions really isn't an issue. The kind of issues that matter are the people who have been invited that have account errors and can't make it work. That is the kind of problems that are real and on BW's end, not you crying about your entitlement.
  12. I got in my friends didn't this is still the smoothest launch I've ever been apart of. You do realize when wow launched they had servers that went down for 2 days at a time right?. They then spent tons of money and time trying to placate there customers because they were being billed for the time the servers were down. They had to give away weeks of free play time and multiple levels of rested exp, just to not lose mass subscriptions. Also, the argument staggered launch ruins world firsts, doesn't mean anything cause when WoW launched servers being down for days also ruined world firsts for many people. (And yes world firsts have been around since EQ and before, it was not some amazing new thing wow created, it simply was when most of you 10 yr old Generation ME kids noticed them is all.)
  13. That depends on the complexity of the algorithm entirely. I never had an authenticator from an MMO, but I have worked extensively with RSA secure ID tokens in a corporate environment. And those you need more then 4-5 cycles to predict, because the patterns are highly complex.
  14. Stress test weekend earned a lot of pre-orders too, when they let in all those accounts. So, tomorrow or the day after most likely.
  15. This is basically a specific post stating this by Bioware. That went up yesterday, closing and merging servers early on is one of the fastest way to kill an MMO, they did staggered EGA, to help combat this. They want a long term game, not a RIFT, where it drops 70% of its launch population 6 months in.
