  1. Indeed I have to include several other things that led me to execute some troubleshooting actions. Thank you for point that out. My problem however I believe was somehow related with my OS, as after performing an OS reinstallation I was able to login once again. Wish I could tell you exactly what was the issue.
  2. Performed an OS reinstallation. It worked ~ problem solved ((for now)).
  3. Have been unable to gain access to game through launcher for almost a week now on steam and from direct download & install. Error message continues as "The login service is currentlyunavailable."
  4. Also, ping stats on 4 sent & received with 0% loss
  5. Reset router ~ ran the netsh winsock reset Was able to download game through steam once more but, upon launching and logging-in ~ error message: The login service is currently unavailable.
  6. Screenshot error from my latest direct install attempt
  7. Pings were successful. All else checked & still unresolved
  8. Nothing works for me either through Steam or directly downloaded. Have played since launch too but cancelling sub & washing my hands of it all if I can't get this resolved within the next few days.
  9. Well, uninstalled again ~ this time from STEAM and reinstalled directly from swtor onto computer. Worked fine for a day. When I tried to log in earlier that launcher qued looking for available updates and went no further. After several attempts I uninstalled & reinstalled again. Now a new issue ~ upon opening the launcher to download the game's initial patches, etc. same message ques looking for updates and never progresses. Please don't refer me to other threads as a potential remedy. As much as I appreciate that, I've read through just about everything revolving around this issue. Last ditch effort will be to hit up phone support in hopes of identifying the problem assuming it's from my end. Will keep all posted if I discover the problem. Bottom line, something is not right. I've played this since launch and have never experienced this sort of complication with swtor.
  10. Okay, have been trying to troubleshoot this now for several hours. Initially, after opening STEAM and logging into swtor I had a screen with no servers available. Closed it all down, restarted STEAM, and ran a verification integrity of game files. Five were missing and were downloaded. Reopened launcher and upon clicking play I received an error message notifying me that servers were unavailable. I then executed the following steps 1. Ensured compatibility settings were unchecked in launcher.exe 2. Downloaded & reinstalled DirectX 9 & Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 3. Verified no blocks in place via firewall or antivirus NOTE: Was experiencing this issue last week with the traditional downloaded version. Deleted the game & files in its entirety and reinstalled fresh version through STEAM. Everything worked great for three days as I reconfigured UIs, etc. in game. Now I'm back to square one. I'm literally out of options and am debating on trashing it completely. Thoughts?

    DoT in Wonderland

Somewhat skeptical in posting this concern but, have played since launch continuously across every class/discipline on multiple servers and have noticed one "Glaring" change from the last xpac. DoT spec'd toons I normally enjoyed PvP'n with not only seem considerably less effective but a lot more vulnerable even in 1v1 confrontations. I understand if there was an intent to balance a few things across the spectrum but rendering a capability to the point where any player wanting to enjoy this type of supportive role was not what I had anticipated. Someone please tell me I've gone completely wacko & need to readdress stats, a training dummy, rotations, etc., all over again in order to adapt to the latest & greatest. Otherwise, I'll just leave my DoT spec'd heros for PvE activities & take a different approach in warzones from hereon.
  12. Leveling the Sniper was going good ((Note: on Hutta, not Ord)). Problems began surfacing when I was experimenting with my 75 Commando. My Overarching Concern: Why grant a secondary combat style when once enabled removes all primary abilities just to replace them entirely with the secondary ones? That "IS NOT" enabling anything which could accurately label as secondary; it's just professional swapping! Also, when once enabled/selected ~ all appropriate gearing specifically aligned with the primary combat style is then removed and not allowed to reequip. Recommendation: Utilize the existing combat styles recently created and do not replace secondary with primary; but instead, when selected ~ mesh them both somehow. I stress somehow because it's not my place to spell this out for Devs as to what styles should be available (and not) upon enabling. Finally, for the combat proficiencies themselves: the row selection of "1 of 3" takes away some essential proficiencies but doesn't facilitate comparable ones which defeats the intent.
  13. My PTS experience was short-lived I'm afraid as it was not what I'd anticipated it might be. I created a sniper and ran through Ord mantel and had intended on stretching further throughout the story-line. I also wanted to jump on my 75 Commando I had set for HM-healing and push it through various content so that I may provide you with meaningful feedback. Leveling as a sniper again from the start was quite nostalgic and fresh in a way considering the new content in place. All in all though, looking past new UI/menu content, no change in my opinion. My commando however, upon selecting a secondary combat style it immediately turned into something I hadn't anticipated. 1. I selected 'Operative' and once enabling its combat style I was unable to switch back to 'Commando'. I tried relocating through different phases, ship, planets, etc., in hopes to fix this but, was unable. 2. Also, upon selecting the secondary combat style ~ all of my armor was stripped from my toon and I was unable to reequip. I assume this is because it is 'Heavy' and 'Operatives' use other ~ I get that ~ again, just something I hadn't anticipated. My expectation for enabling a secondary combat style was that I would inherit new abilities that would compliment my already existing ones which I could use as an enhancing feature. I didn't anticipate loosing all of my commando abilities only to acquire operative ones solely as if my toon was an operative in the first place. 3. Regardless, the combat style proficiencies selection (or restrictor) is a nice set-up but, is somewhat counter intuitive as it pertains to selecting compared abilities. Allow me to explain: My gameplay style is diverse in that as a healer I will focus on healing however, through appropriate power management I will contribute to the fight with all appropriate abilities; ie, cryo-grenade, sticky-bomb, etc. When these abilities are matched against other selectable abilities that necessarily don't coincide then it makes it difficult to determine the loadout I want in place to anticipate a rotation I may want to apply. Thank you for providing the PTS functionality and the opportunity for me to provide you with some feedback. I've read a few threads in hopes of locating similar experiences to mine and unfortunately didn't locate any. This is not to say that someone hasn't already discussed this and sorry if I missed it. I've played swtor since launch and have thoroughly enjoyed the game through its evolvement over the past decade. Hopefully you all are able to pull this all together by February, and continue pushing forward that will facilitate player growth, experience, and adventure. Lastly, concern yourself not with the destination; but instead, embrace the journey. Thanks Again! -Mes
