  1. Assuming I played WoW just proves how completely garbage your entire line of thought was. I never touched WoW, and probably never will. That said, most estimates show SWTOR at somewhere between 500k and 700k subscribers. I'm not QQing either, don't see where I whined about this game. I'm sorry it failed (which it did, everyone, including EA and Bioware knows this). Sure, they will recover their investment if they keep a steady flow of 500k players or more for the next 2 years. That however, is unlikely.
  2. Where exactly did I mention that I want it to fail? God knows I don't, I have been buying Bioware products for over a decade, they are one of my favorite game producing companies. I want them to succeed. Hell, I wanted SWTOR to be THE mmo out there. I just don't like people pulling facts out of their behinds because they are fans of a game (and I'm refering to the "2nd most popular MMO" statement).
  3. Second most popular? You got this info from where exactly? The playerbase of SW was good at launch, true, but right now, it's plummeting fast. And even if it was the second most popular (which I'm pretty sure it isn't), it's going to get some serious kicking from the recently released Secret World (which, looks surprisingly interesting), the upcoming GW2 launch, this years engine update to Anarchy Online (which will probably cause a lot of old AO veterans to return, myself included), and probably a lot more F2P projects that are out there.
  4. Don't think it can be saved. There's too much lacking. God knows Bioware is desperately trying to keep a playerbase by introducing features and content, but they simply don't realize what people wanted, and that's been going on. I think most of the players, even the die-hard SW fans have a bitter-sweet taste in their mouths at this point. Myself? Played it since beta. I have been waiting for this for 4 years and I sooooo hoped to be THE MMO for me, and keep me subbed for years. I really wanted to throw my money at Bioware. But after 4-5 months, it's gone terribly wrong. I've founded a PvP guild, I've kicked ***, made friends and even more enemies, but at the end of the day, the game just fails. When Diablo 3 came out (another failure from my point of view), I still had 70ish days of SWTOR subscription. I only logged on once when char transfers were given, and only for like 5 minutes. I let those days go to waste, simply because there was NOTHING that made me want to play anymore. And now that I've stumbled over DayZ, I strongly believe that a small budget but great minds and vision can go a longer way than a 300 million disappointment, and that online gaming still has a future.
  5. From a DPS perspective...(Valor 70+ Gunslinger and Sentinel): Ops/scoundrels are good, mercs/commando healers are meh, and sage healers are terrible. Sure, if you leave a sage totally unfocused, he can heal crazy-good for about 40-50 seconds, after which the force pool is depleted. Then again, I never ever leave a healer unfocused, and neither do my guild/team-mates. That being said, I can rip through most sorc/sage healers in under 6 seconds (as a Sharpshooter Gunslinger). However, a guarded operative or merc is a pain to kill. Now, I'm rolling a healer sage (32 atm), and I seem to encounter the same problems as people post here. Running out of force, struggling to keep myself alive when focused, without doing any healing to team-mates whatsoever. So....yea, healing is pretty much dead. Tanking has been dead too (except in huttball). Annihilation Marauder, Hybrid Assasin and Pyro Powertech (or their Rep counterparts) are the only viable specs and classes out there atm. Forget healing. Oh, and /unsubscribed
  6. I work two part-time jobs, go through my second collage and still have time to play 1-2 hours in an evening, or 3-4 hours during a weekend. No, I don't play 8 hours/day. If I would, I could level a 50 in 2 weeks at most. Yet I seem to have 2x40's and 2x50's since launch. And I have even been out of the country for a few weeks. So if you couldn't level a 50 in 4 months, you're probably doing it wrong, or playing butt-loads of alts. And, most of the game happens at 50, that's the most difficult area to balance, and those are the players who are usually getting bored, not to mention are the majority. So yea, it's obvious that they would reward those who reached 50, as they are also more likely to provide documented feedback. And even if we wouldn't have been awarded 30 free days, 1.2 is still a HUGE update, free of charge, so appreciate it for what it is, and don't yell about it being implemented. Also, keep in mind that there was no tuesday patch this week, or two weeks ago. Oh, and before I forget, how is it that the people complaining a lot are also yelling that they have jobs and no time to play? If you're so busy in real life, I'm pretty sure you can find an activity during a downtime. Maybe do your errands while patch is being deployed and kick back and relax when servers are up? Time management people...
  7. Seriously, you people just got 30 days of free game-time, and you're still complaining about a 4 hour patch that intends to fix problems affecting YOUR gameplay? Get a clue and a life!
  8. Pyro PT's and tracer-missile spammers do need nerfing. Those who play the classes are whining, but everyone else being objective agrees with the changes. Besides, doubt the nerf will be significant.
  9. Funny you should say this, you, who need recognition for doing something average. You, who boast a signature that doesn't impress anyone. Please, crawl under a rock with your 542k and your phone-book philosophy.
  10. Fair enough, didn't bother to check, sorry. Rushed comment from work
  11. The answer to this is simple...Focus
  12. Jodea, that was Watchman spec, right?
  13. Depends on your spec. As I'm focus specced, I already have a 100% crit chance on Force Sweep, and that's pretty much all I need, so for me, Power is the obvious choice. However, crit can also be viable for the other two specs. I'd say balance them out if you are Watchman or Combat, and focus on Power if you are Focus.
  14. People like this playing Republic is why I'm sad. Fortunately, there are also imperial counterparts. Your damage is pathetic, and the number of kills is average at best. Want a cookie? I'm a focus sentinel and I usually do over 400k dmg in Void Star, also in Centurion, and I don't consider myself that good. Seen people do 70-80 kills and over 700k dmg with a well-played Sentinel. Bugger off now!
  15. Surprised nobody comments on how Focus sentinels fare. To be honest, especially in a clustered voidstar, I'm fairly confident a good focus sent can probably outdamage a watchman one. I'm avarage at best on my own sentinel, and mostly centurion geared (with 3 or so champion items), and I hit over 400k dmg in all voidstar games (except the ones we get completely stomped upon by full War Hero premades). Watchman does seem to be a long stronger in 1vs1 scenarios, but as far as damage output is concerned, I'm fairly sure Focus can easily top it in Voidstar.
