  1. I don't know this particular game, but it's reminded me something quite similar. Try Google for 'Colobot'. It's quite old, I remember we had fun with it like 10 years ago. You'll have to colonize different planets, using programmable robots. The programming language is quite similar to Java.
  2. It's absolutely worth playing from 1 to 50. Is it worth playing after you hit the level cap? Well, that's an interesting question...
  3. It's pretty hard to compare. Rift's been around for a while, SWTOR's only a couple of month old. For me, the main downside of RIft is dull and uninvolving game setting, plus very poor replayability. From the other hand, Rift's character progression system is awesome. Wish SWTOR has something that advanced. The main weakness of SWTOR is lack of tools, imo. Also somewhat linear leveling process. But latter is rather in comparison to the game we all love to hate. For example, once Cataclysm's been released, I've started a brand new toon, just to see how they've remastered 'the old world'. I've leveled that toon to Outlands (lvl 60) without doing even a single quest outside Kalimdor. And there are some areas on Kalimdor I haven't quested in. In SWTOR having a run from 1 to 50 on one toon means seeing all content for your faction, but class quests. But then again, SWTOR is only two month old. Thus any legitimate comparison ain't quite possible yet.
  4. I think theme park MMOs is a dead end. True "next-generation" game should be a neat mix of both theme park and sandbox.
  5. "We decided to merge some low-populated servers". "We decided to switch to free-to-play subscription plan with in-game store for premium users". "You don't like <this>, <that> and <this>? Go play WoW!".
  6. Sounds like BW put too much realism into her character. Man I feel for you.
  7. Ha-ha! Yeah... But if try and give it more then two seconds of thinking you'll probably see, that LotRO lost it's playerbase and went f2p due to grindy, boring and overall failed hi-end content in Mines of Moria. Age of Conan lost players and went f2p due to bugged release, very small world and numerous design mistakes. Feel free to continue... Though I agree, modern MMO scene is stagnant. But WoW has nothing to do with it. Every more or less hyped project on the scene has been embraced by players with puppy fervor and failed miserably due to shortsightedness of their own creators.
  8. The Empire is not evil. It's authoritarian autocracy with legal allowance of use of a slave labor. Just try to play Imp side and watch. Better yet, play a light side Imp. An amazing experience!
  9. I don't like the Empire. But I really love how BW made the Empire. Pretty much reminds me of George Orwell's novels. Love it!
  10. You can break a million lances with questions like that, but you can't stop the future. It's 2012, both BW and EA interested in profitable and long running MMO. Therefore they can easily sacrifice 100,000 of hardcore players for 10,000,000 of casuals, just because it's casuals are actually pay their dues. For the record: my answer is YES for both questions.
  11. Back in WoW we had a 15 yo guy in the guild. A fun and pretty smart kid. Personally I don't care about someone's age. Seen more than enough 30 yo boys and 15 yo men.
  12. Oh, look, it's good old a/s/l thread! 27/male/Moscow, Russia. It's darn cold out here right now, btw. And no, I don't have a hat with ear-flaps and I don't like vodka.
  13. Real life I lead graphic and package design division for some medium-sized corporation. In game Sniper Why? Totally random choice.
  14. Nah, I'm not 'quitting thread poster' type, sorry.
