  1. Good computer for TOR has yet to be born.
  2. It's the easiest and most boring MMO ever. What MMO gets you bored after 1-2 months? I haven't gotten bored that fast from some singleplayer games...
  3. The game has been out for 3 months now and half of the players already quit. If any bookie would dare, I would bet that this game is dead or F2P within a year after release. Safe bet for me.
  4. All these replies... so pathetic. If PvP is all about skill not gear then let us fight naked... or let us get affected by the Bolster debuff at all times as level 50s so our gear is only there for looks not stats... If you take away gear restrictions and open it up to everyone, what's the point playing? Oh yeah right... we PvP to show off our skils, to help our faction, blablabla. No we don't. We want some form of recognition. And in this game there's no recognition whatsoever. Hence why i'm not subbed anymore. Think today is the last day, but I haven't logged in for over a week already so what do I care.
  5. And when I said crying inside, what I really meant was that this is the sole reason for me to unsub already. If Bioware and their fanboys keep telling me and other people with good rigs that it's our system, then I don't even want to hang out with them anymore. I really hope this game dies fast.
  6. It's topics like these that make me cry inside. This game's engine is obviously rotten. It's broken, it cannot handle (mass) PvP. And yet there are people (read: fanboys) trying to convince you that it really is your computer and that you need to tweak it. Sometime ago, someone went on to explain me this isn't a console like the 360 or PS3 where everything works perfectly fine on the moment you boot the game up. Get lost... people with i7 @ 5.0GHz and GTX590 in SLI should play ANY game right now RIGHT FROM THE START on 100+ FPS with ultra settings and 1080p and PhysX on max. If they really have to tweak, that means there's something terribly wrong with the game. /THREAD
  7. Not resubbing... haven't even logged in for one week straight now... Some reasons for quitting: - Terrible engine which can't handle PvP and - Bioware being rude to us... claiming FPS issues are a problem on user's end even though techs have already pointed out exactly what is causing it and why their GTX590 SLI PC with 5.0GHz i7 can't get more than 10 FPS in Ilum - Terrible end-game... i've paid for 3 months beta testing, don't really care what 1.2 adds if I ever come back it's in 1 year to compensate all money I spent beta testing the past 3 months... and - Easy mode gameplay... everyone can be fully geared in one week after hitting 50.. - Dead servers... mine used to be the biggest pop in EU but is now just a standard.. - Legacy system didn't turn out to be something that keeps you playing.. - Really terrible community... fans of the game really try to blame you for everything you dislike about this game... and - Complainers have too much power... if they cry enough about something then Bioware will listen to them like for example the Purple color crystal. It almost looks like Bioware is desperate to lose customers so they do anything to keep them. - No real achievements in this game... fans of the game will tell you that you PvP to help your faction or to show off how good you are but really, what's so hard implementing some 'lifetime' kills sheet and grant you titles on each milestone? And some achievements /w titles or unique items in PvE too... it's what gives people a drive to play. PvP and PvE right now grows too boring on you too fast because there's nothing to aim for. Probably still forgot some points but this is enough already for BW to aim for in order to keep the people that are still staying for some reason. You know it's bad when i've been bored for one week straight yet refused to login to TOR because it would bore me even more.
  8. As if the space combat was KotOR's strongest point............
  9. I haven't really argued at all so far because no one explained their reason for picking TOR above KotOR 3, what's there to argue about? I only argued so far with the person who claimed the Jedi Knight story was really awesome and could have been the KotOR 3 story. If you played KotOR as much as me you'd know that theres zero chance that could've become a story in KotOR 3 because it's simply not enough. People are free to argue with my points too though. But they simply can't.
  10. Yay, more WoW features. Guaranteed success!
  11. Well I completely agree with you. But hey this is an MMO and BW is easy to fold when people QQ just hard enough about stuff. Since Dark Jedi were able to use Red in TOR, I really loved the fact that the Sith had Purple restricted to them even though I play Republic myself. I started seeing Purple as the second Sith color besides the standard Red. But now every color is up for grasps for both factions. Welcome to TOR. Enjoy your stay. Don't like something, QQ about it. You'll have your way.
  12. Well i've only played a Jedi Knight up to 50 and I can tell you it's pathetic compared to KotOR stories. As I said, what did you really do in Act 1 and 2? Half of the times, I couldn't even remember anymore who the bad guy was they just mentioned. Oh I killed someone's relative? Who was that then? Act 3 is where all the action starts. Let's not spoil it for other people by saying what it's about, but really everything is so fast and rushed that it doesn't have much impact on you. I was just 'meh' at the end. In KotOR, my jaw dropped on the floor when Darth Malak told me i'm Revan. Some people saw it coming but hey, I was 14 back then and i'm glad I didn't. One of the best gaming memories. What made my jaw drop on the floor in TOR? Only one thing: Maelstrom Prison. And why? Revan. In other words, they needed KotOR yet again to make some impact on me. TOR itself is 'meh' on all aspects.
  13. Could've told you that from the start. It's the only reason why an RTS like Warcraft III or an RPG like KotOR can transform into MMOs: because the developer sees opportunity to make fast cash. Still, I was almost in the same boat as you. Also was thinking to take a 6-month sub since I really liked the game in beta and early access. Also have some coupon cards so that i'd be able to get GCs cheaper. Glad I didn't use those either.
  14. Haven't watched it yet but what's the point of going all crazy about a TOR BBT episode if they don't even mention the name TOR? I know they mention WoW and AoC all the time. Kind of takes away the whole point of thinking they play TOR.
  15. Have you guys played KotOR? If you didn't there's no point replying. If you did, state why you'd pick TOR over KotOR.
  16. With today's knowledge, which game would you rather have seen? TOR or KotOR 3? I don't want to hear the stupid comment that TOR = KotOR 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 , 9 and 10 only because there's 8 classes with each their own storyline - I'll explain why later. For me personally, i've always said KotOR 3 before TOR. Why? Bioware is renowned for their amazing RPG games. KotOR had it all: an amazing story, amazing characters with a nice background and stories you could listen hours to without getting bored, amazing music, great options for you to choose whether to go dark or light in the end changing the entire story, etc. KotOR 1 by Bioware was a flat out 10/10 for me. We all saw what WoW did to the Warcraft franchise. Warcraft was one of the best (if not the best) RTS games out there. Then this MMO called WoW came by and in a few years it managed to completely kill off any main character from it's RTS Warcraft III. Not to mention that there's no talks whatsoever about a Warcraft IV which fans have been waiting on for more than 10 years now. So it's either one or the other. To me, TOR doesn't have any of the quality KotOR had. No amazing stories because in Act 1 and 2 you are fighting nobodies, and in Act 3 everything goes so fast that it's kind of unbelievable that you suddenly did so much in a short period of time (at least for my Jedi Knight). The companions are nowhere near awesome, in fact they are annoying the crap out of me and I don't want to hear them. Music? There are some nice tracks... but most is ripped from KotOR or the movies, and the ones I like the most are the KotOR ones. Light/Dark points really useless in this game apart from some item restrictions and some shriveled up face (as dark). They should've made Dark Jedi get the Dark Side powers, and vice versa. That might have kept this game balanced too in terms of players on each side. I even found myself rolling a Sith Inquisitor because I wanted to use Lightning, even though I normally swear loyalty to one faction. -- Summing it up before I get TL;DR comments: I would've prefered it so much more if BW just sticked to what they do best.... make an RPG. This MMO got all of their RPG elements in it but all of them are half-assed... it's nowhere near perfection that KotOR had. What about you?
  17. OP, short and simple answer: It's the game. I don't really want to explain it again, just take it from me that no machine is capable of running this game properly. The engine is terrible and the optimization is a joke. People that will tell you that it's not the game, it's engine or optimization haven't played this game long enough to find that out. Bioware telling you it's your PC and not their game is a lie to cover their own arses. It's the game. Your PC is fine. Look at TOR and see how crappy it actually is in terms of graphics and such. This game should run perfectly fine with your rig.
  18. playing and waiting for my sub to run out Yes, Bioware did a terrific job on KotOR 1. My all-time favorite game. That's why i'm so immense disappointed with TOR. Was hoping they could bring me another all-time favorite in the multiplayer genre, but this game just fails.
  19. Excuse me... people have a life and don't quit their job for 3 weeks to play a videogame 24/7. So saying 'as most who played in the first month did' is a flat out lie. I play this game since beta, got early access on the 15th. Played a little because of school and 3 part time jobs, then when I finally had a break from all of them I went on a new years vacation with my girlfriend. Like most people do around christmas and new years. Go to school, work hard, and go on a well earned vacation.
  20. See this is where TOR fanboys go wrong. People that lengthened their sub in januari after the 30-day free time was up may have used a Game Card. Those people are still subbed, but don't play and won't be subbed anymore after 20 march. Then you have the people that took a 3 month or 6 month sub for some discount. And there's some who don't really care about 15 dollars. They just stay subbed to check out patch 1.2 next month and even if that flops they might stay subbed because they don't really care about 15 bucks. Sub numbers are meaningless. Check the server list at peak times and notice there's only one heavy populated server. Enough said.
  21. Yes this game doesn't go down because: 1) Casuals keep playing because they like the easy mode 2) People just want to play with glowsticks and that's all they care about in an MMO The people who actually came to play a good MMO, have all left or are about to.
  22. You can complain all you want, but the man has spoken the truth. It's why me and my bro left anyway.
